Emma was now living full time in Storybrooke. Before, she had made several trips to go and take something from her appartement in Boston. Way too many trips for litterally nothing. That was when she still had peopke she knew in Boston. Regina had never liked it when she went to her former appartment like that. She had explained that it was because she didn't know the world without magic well enough to like it. And in the world without magic, she couldn't really imagine how Emma would be able to defend herself. But Emma was used to it. Plus, she knew that Regina missed her when she left for Boston. That was mainly why she was never happy to see Emma go there. But she would never tell her that.

Anyways. Emma made one last trip to go and empty her old appartment. It was no use for her to pay for the rent when she almost never lived in it anymore. She had decided to sell it. So she went again, but for the last time, she told Regina. The latter replied that she didn't care about that, but Emma knew Regina well enough to see that she was sad that she was leaving again, but relieved that it was the last time. So she took her yellow Beetle to cross the town line. Regina came with her to "analyse the town line and see what happened if someone not originally from Storybrooke crossed it". But Emma wasn't stupid.

She didn't fall for that silly excuse. She waved Regina goodbye and told her that if she was good, she would bring her back a gift. Regina scoffed and sent her an annoyed stare. Then Emma got in her beloved car and started the engine. The car moved towards the line. She was watching Regina in her backview mirror. The latter had lost her hard stare, and she was now watching her go. The car crossed the line and Regina disappeared. Without knowing why, Emma felt a small pang in her chest. She hadn't felt that, the last time she went to Boston. Yes, but Regina hadn't come to say goodbye, back then.

Emma drove towards Boston for hours, sometimes stopping to answer Henry and Regina's texts who insidted for her to stop every two hours at least a few minutes. She didn't do it but she stopped more than she would have usually stopped. She wanted to be back quickly. She felt like a family was waiting for her in Storybrooke. This little town and its people had replaced Boston in her heart. She no longer felt at home in this big city. She wanted to sell her appartment as fast as possible to come back to her family.

When she arrived in Boston, it was dark outside. She was tired and she just opened the door to her appartment and fell face first on the bed, sleeping instantly. She didn't even think to check her phone before doing that.
