Chapter 1:
October 30, 1983
Thea smiled at Sam and Dean. They were across the street from her. Mary and John were currently taking them trick or treating. She watched from a distance as they went from house to house. She wasn't able to join they're family as a dog because Mary and John decided not to own one again. It was okay with her, but the only thing she missed was being able to be right there for Dean and Sam. She wasn't there for Sam's homecoming but she was there for everything after. She loved how close Dean was with Sam.
Maybe that would stick with them into the future. "Althea." Thea stopped dead in her tracks. She knew that voice, even after so long apart from him. "Althea." The voice said again. It was angel radio. Of course he wants to call me on the best night of the year. Well one of the best nights of the year. "Yes, father." She replied, tuning her senses to angel radio. "Come to me. We need to talk in person." Sammandrial said. Thea sighed as she unfolded her wings and stretched them. She glanced around the street making sure no one would notice her disappearance.
After seeing no one was watching she flapped her wings and took off. Flying through the air she stretched her senses in search of her father's grace. Pinpointing it she propelled herself faster and landed quietly outside of a hotdog market. She laughed out loud at the current vessel containing her father. "I don't understand, what is so laughable?" Her father asked, a confused expression on his face. "Nothing it's just…" She read the poor kids name tag, "Alphie is kind of scrawny for your preference." She chuckled again at his exasperated expression.
"This is the best I could do on such short notice." Sammandrial replied, a serious expression taking over his features. "What did you need me for such a short occasion?" Thea asked, realizing her father was anything but in a playful mood right now. "November 2 something evil will enter the Wincnhester's house." Thea's whole body tensed up with the information. "You have to stand down, Althea." Sammandrial said. "But why? My whole purpose is to protect the Winchester's." Thea exclaimed, it was her turn to be confused.
"This is an event that has to happen. If you change this Heaven will know that you are against them. We can't let them know." He said. Thea's cheeks went red with frustration. She hated that heaven wanted her to let all this happen. "Fine." Thea said evenly. "I'm serious Althea. You can't interfere." Sammandrial stated firmly. "Does Castiel know of this?" Thea asked, wondering if her uncle would let her. "He does, but he agrees with me. You have to remember that Castiel is not all the way on our side."
"Yet." Thea said to herself. She was sure that Castiel would come when the time was right. "I'm not going to make it easy for him to come, but I won't stop him." Thea said, just wanting to get back to watching over her charges. "Good, you can go, but don't forget." Sammandrial said.

Thea touched down quietly in the Winchester's backyard. She had to get the house ready for the incoming evil. The way her father said it made her think that whatever it was had to be something from hell. She hated to let that scum in their house, but she had no choice. So Thea set to work. She began by putting warding all over the outside of the house. Hopefully it would make the hellspawn weak. After getting down she quietly entered the house and checked on the boys. She smiled at the sight of little Sammy in his crib. Her smile grew as Dean's arm tightened around him at her presence in the room.
"Good job Dean." Thea said quietly. Sam would need his little brother in the future if she had anything to say about it. They would need her too.

November 2, 1883
Thea sat outside on the porch quietly. It was almost midnight and Thea was on edge. How could she just sit back and do nothing? It would be impossible. Fuck it, she thought as she entered the Winchester's home. Heading up the stairs she checked on Dean who was fast asleep in his bed. She continued down the hallway and to Sam's nursery. He was also sleeping peacefully. She heard the faint sound of the TV from downstairs. It was just John watching a movie, probably already asleep. She crossed the hall from Sam's room and into Mary's.
She was also asleep too. Thea shook her head and headed back down the hall and descended the stairs. Something wasn't right. There was a pressure to the air around her. She could smell the faintest of sulfur. "He's coming." Thea said quietly. She rippled her blade into existence. Clutching the black blade tightly she ran back up the stairs, not caring if she was concealing herself anymore. She reached Dean's room and nudged him awake. "Dean. Wake up." Thea said quietly. He moaned but sat up quietly.
"No matter what you hear, I want you to find your dad and Sam, Okay?" He nodded slowly in response. She could tell he was very confused, but it didn't matter. She had to protect her charges. She left Dean's room concealing herself and passed Mary in the hallway. She gasped with the pressure of evil that was radiating from Sam's nursery. "No." Thea said, taking off down the hall and towards the nursery.
The smell of blood erupted in her nostrils and she burst through the door. A large figure was standing over Sam's crib. "Get away from him!" She yelled, lashing out with her blade. The figure turned around just as she swung the blade. He shied away as the blade swiped across his right eye. She heard Mary cry out behind her, just as Sammandrail came into the room and grabbed her by the wrist. She was snatched from the room as Sammandrial flew them away.
Thea screamed in frustration as Sammandrial landed with her. "What the hell dad? Why would you take me away from them?" She asked, her features overcome with frustration and rage. "I told you that this event had to happen!" Sammandrial's voice boomed and echoed around the walls of the abandoned warehouse he had taken them. "That's not a good enough answer!" Thea yelled back. She turned around and gripped her hair. "What that vermin did to Sam." She said through clenched teeth.
"Althea…"
"My name is Thea!" She yelled back. Spreading her wings she took off before her father could say anything else. She swiped at the tears that spilled down her face as she flew far away. She couldn't be near anyone right now. She was too angry at everything. Sam and Dean didn't deserve any of this. Hell, John didn't deserve what was happening. "Althea." Thea rolled her eyes. Of course her father would drag Castiel into this. "What do you want Castiel?" Thea asked, deciding to land in an old park.
She heard the flap of wings behind her and turned around to face Castiel, who was currently in a female. "Really Cas? A female?" Thea asked. "I am a being of celestial intent, I do not have a gender, Thea." Thea smiled despite herself. At least he called her Thea. "Whatever, why did you come? Did my father send you?" Thea asked, she was tired of her father sending others after her. "No, he did not. I could feel your distress from heaven. I came to check on you."
"Well that's nice Cas, but I'm fine. I don't need you to come check on me." Thea said defiantly. She didn't need a babysitter. "Why did those events upset you?" Castiel asked, his vessel's face ridden with confusion. "Because, my whole purpose is to make sure the Winchester boys are safe. It's pretty stupid that I had to stand by and watch." Thea said, wishing Cas would just get to the point. "But you didn't stand by and watch." Castiel said firmly. Thea turned away from him and walked up the steps to the slide.
"Why do you care how I feel? I thought regular angels didn't feel emotions." Thea slid down the slide and leaned back to where she was laying on the slide with her legs hanging off. "It quite puzzles me, but my grace seems to feel something when it comes to you.I believe you would call it worry." Castiel said, edging closer to where she could see him. "Do you know why heaven let that demon into their house?" Thea asked, hoping Castiel would know.
"All they have told me is that it was part of the plan." Castiel looked at her with intense eyes. She could see his grace faintly, but not fully like a normal angel would. "I have to go." Thea said, as she sat up from her position at the bottom of the slide. "Where are you going?' Castiel asked. "I have to check on Sam and Dean." Thea said simply, before spreading her wings and taking off.
