Part II: Not The Same And Devoid

Last time;

Sora harmed Tai's feelings. She needs to fix him before it's too late, meanwhile with Tai, he couldn't hold his emotions anymore. He can't hold it anymore.

The other digidestineds are shocked that Tai caught a bad cold and heartbroken because of Matt and Sora. Sora was determined to fix him. Can she fix him or Tai would forget her?.

Present: 3 days later..

Tai was feeling a bit better. He was back to his normal self, but only one thing not:

His Emotions..

"Tai you're okay!" Koromon said happily.

Tai's face shadowed..

"Tai..are you alright?" Koromon began to grow worried.

"Yeah, Koromon." Tai replied in a dead tone

Koromon shivered when he heard Tai's reply

He have never seen him like that. Well, he didn't mind it because Tai will get better soon.

The Next Day...

Izzy's POV:

Today, I went to Kari's apartment. Matt and Sora were on the way there.

As the elevator went up and stopped, I saw Kari's apartment. I knocked the door and Kari let me, Matt, and Sora in.

I asked Kari if Tai was here, but she told us that he went to school early. That was strange. I knew what time Tai goes to Odaiba high.

Sora was disappointed because she didn't have a chance to apologize to Tai.

Well, I'll go after him later after class.

Later...

The digidestineds planned to approach Tai and apologize to him. Especially Sora, she really needs to apologize to him.

Joe's POV:

When I approached Tai earlier, my spines had shivered. But I don't know why. Maybe something was not right.

Well, Tai went to the library, I saw him there. When he came out, I didn't expect to meet him in the hallway, so I ran towards him.

"Tai I need to talk to you.." that's what all I said, when he turned around to face me, I saw his face, I saw his eyes..no anger, or pain, or even sadness, his eyes are empty. He was emotionless.

It's a little bit rare to see an empty and lost person. But, infront of me was not the Tai Yagami I used to know, he was like a stranger to me.

"Tai I need to apolo-" That's the next thing I said but Tai interrupted me.

"I'm the one who need to apologize for being an idiot and hotheaded. I won't be bothering you now." That's was Tai all had said. I was shocked and speechless at the same time. He left me and walk away like he didn't care.

My hands shivered in fear. I was trembling. I lost my friend. He was gone inside. Nothing can change everything.

I felt sorry for him. I hope everyone can accept this revelation."

Mimi's POV:

I saw Tai earlier in the hallway, walking towards outside. I ran towards him. Tai turned to see me and I shivered. His eyes, it's really creepy.

His eyes are empty. I didn't even saw a sparkle or shine in his eyes, just an empty brown eyes. It gives me creeps. His emotions are devoid. He was just, well..emotionless.

"Tai.." I said to him.

"Mimi.." When Tai spoke, his voice was cold. Really cold as ice. It ripped me apart. It was giving me creeps. I don't want to see him like this, I want the old and happy Tai to comeback, not the new and cold Tai. I ran away and I wept.

Izzy's POV:

I saw Tai heading towards the lab. He then stopped when he saw me. I want to talk to him. But when I approached him, his brown eyes..it was empty and dead. I can't see any shine or sparkle. I can't bear seeing him like this.

"Hey Izzy.." when Tai spoke to me, his voice was a dead and cold tone. It really scares me when I hear what he had said.

After Tai greeted me, he turned and walked away. Far from me. I was left shock and speechless, I was too scared to go after him.

Ken and Cody's POV:

~Cody~

We didn't expect to encounter him in the canteen. We approached him, later on...

When Tai turned to see us, we shivered in fear. Especially Ken, he was speechless to speak to Tai, I took the speaking for Ken.

When I was about to say, apologize..he interrupted me and said, he won't be a

downhill to everyone. He won't bother us anymore. For his last presence, he turned and walked away from us. Ken fell to his knees. I was left spechless.

~Ken~

As Cody said, I was speechless when I saw Tai's face, just like mine when I was still the emperor. I want to forget that memories, but those nightmares came back to haunt me again.

The last time I remembered is the face that Tai showed me was not that deadly. His face, His eyes..there was no emotion, just a devoid of emotions. When I was still the digimon emperor, I was not that really cold and deadly to everyone.

As the revelation began, Tai turned and walked away like he didn't heard anything. I collapse to my knees and Cody was left speechless.

Yolei's POV:

I was with my new friend, Meiko..she was the same class with Sora, Matt, Mimi Tai. Meiko and I saw Tai, walking past us. He stopped when I said "Tai, can I speak to you a moment." When I was about to say "I'm sorry." Tai interrupted me

Meiko shivered when she saw Tai's face, Tai's eyes. It's empty, cold and deadly. I was scared, this is the first time I saw him like this, usually he will welcome everyone. But this was different.

His cold and dead face are creepy, his voice was a dead tone and cold. I heard some students, talking about him.

"Is that Yagami?"

"He became cold and deadly."

"What happened to him?."

"Is he depressed or something?"

"He's giving me creeps."

That's what everyone was talking about. How come the happy famous soccer player in the school became new, cold and depressed student in the school? that's what everyone want to know.

Whenever they encounters Tai, they will either shiver in fear or they walk away. They must be really scared. For one last time, I was left blaming myself, while Meiko wiped her tears. She had pity on Tai. I wish someday he will be back.

Daisuke's POV:

I stop bto watch Tai's practice for a second, and immediately know something is wrong. I'd played soccer with Tai for a number of years now, and knew how he played very well, mostly since I emulated a lot of his style, and what Tai was doing now was all wrong.

All of the moves that he was performing were flawless. I mean, like they were better executed than any I had ever seen before, and I'd been to quite a few professional matches over my life.

Now Tai was good, but he couldn't perform like that as many times as I was seeing, it was almost mechanical. None of the heart and soul that Tai usually poured out into soccer was present in his moves.

And there was the little fact that he was still injured as far as I knew, he really shouldn't have been practicing that hard on his bad leg.

It was like he was going through the motions, but just wasn't feeling the moves. I knew then that something was the matter.

I went towards the soccer field..

"Hey Tai…" I started, and he turns to me, and what I see stops my words in my tracks.

I'd never been very good with emotions, always more of a funny guy who could cheer you up than the person whose shoulder you'd cry on, but I was trying to be there for Tai,

but his eyes made me stop. Ok, I know what you're thinking, no I wasn't staring into Tai's eyes, I was just looking him in the eye when I talked to him.

Tai's eyes, they were completely devoid of emotion. I mean literally there wasn't a hint of any emotion in his eyes, and that scared me quite a bit. The next thing scared me just as much.

"Daisuke" Tai said in a voice that was just as devoid of emotion as his eyes, and I was terrified. What could have happened to make this happen to Tai?

Matt's POV:

I arrived in the classroom that we were supposed to wait in for our classes later that day, sorta hoping to find Tai.

I needed to apologize to him, and tell him what Sora had told me months ago, and then maybe I could face my friends again. When I entered the classroom Tai was easy to pick out of the group, and I went straight up to him.

"Hey Tai, I need to talk to you." I say as I place a hand on his shoulder, turning him around. When I do I see it, the same thing that had sent anyone who saw Tai running. His eyes.

Now I don't usually stare into guys eyes or anything like that, but in this case it was unavoidable.

His eyes were empty, completely devoid of any sort of emotion, and when he spoke, his voice was just as empty.

"What's up Matt?" He asked in a dead tone of voice.

I took a deep breath. I would not chicken out of this. "Tai, I need to apologi…"

"No Matt you don't." Tai stopped me in mid-sentence.

"I should be the one apologizing, I've been a horrible friend, causing a rift between you and Sora. You don't have to worry about that anymore though, I'll leave the two of you alone now."

Those words hit me like a brick wall, and I instantly knew that something was very wrong. Tai turned and walked away from me at this point, heading out of the classroom, and I didn't have the will power to follow him.

What happened to him? I ask myself.

Don't be an idiot another voice said in my head. "You know exactly what happened to him, he finally lost it. And guess what? It's your fault! All your fault! "

I sat back in my seat as part of me finally shouted what I knew was the truth, I had helped ruin and hurt one of my best friend.

Maybe I should recieve the crest of jerk, not the crest of friendship, because I don't deserve their friendship.

Sora's POV:

When we finally reached the school I immediately searched for Tai, hoping to talk to him during his free period, but I had no luck, he was nowhere to be found.

So I went through the morning like that, searching for Tai between classes, but never being able to find him.

I wasn't sure if he was avoiding me, or had left school, or if I just had really bad luck in my search, but I couldn't find him.

At lunch I started to despair a bit. I sat away from the other digidestined, knowing that sitting with them right now would probably not be good for anyone.

It pained me to realize just how much damage I had done to the friendship of my oldest and closest friends, but I could work on fixing that after I'd fixed things with my oldest and closest friend.

I was glancing around the lunch room at this moment when I spotted him, or rather his hair.

Tai was outside in the courtyard that most of the students didn't use because of the heat sweeping through the city. My heart skipped a beat as I saw him sitting there, and I got out of my seat, heading out the door.

I walked up to him, and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Tai…" I said, and my voice was quite weak. I was starting to get choked up, afraid that he wouldn't even turn to look at me. Of course if he hadn't that might actually have been better.

He turns and looks right at me, and I look in to his warm brown eyes, expecting some pain, and anger, but what I see is much worse.

Tai's eyes are dead. Yea, I'm sure you're wondering how someone's eyes can be dead, but that was the only way to describe them.

Tai's eyes had been one of my favorite things about him, they still were in fact. They were always so welcoming and inviting, ready to welcome you anytime, they would shine with laughter or mischief all the time,

and just looking into his eyes I could lose myself for hours. All that was gone now. There was no happiness or welcome. No anger or pain. Nothing at all, his eyes were empty, there was no shine or sparkle in them, just brown emptiness.

"Yes Sora?" He asks, and his voice seems to rip into me. It's the exact same cold voice that he used when he was fighting the Parasimon, only now that I listened I could tell that there wasn't even anger in his voice, it was just dead, emotionally.

I honestly didn't know what to do; I looked into his eyes for about three more seconds, and then bolted, running back into the cafeteria, already tearing up.

"I've Destroyed Tai, I've completely ruined the best thing that ever happened to me." I thought to myself as I tried to get away as fast as possible.

In fact that was the biggest thought running through my head the rest of the day. I didn't really seek out Tai again until towards the end of the day.

By that time I'd gotten a bit of my resolve back, mostly because I knew that this was all my fault.

If I ever wanted Tai to be happy again, which was in fact one of the biggest things on my mind, Tai being happy that is, then I'd have to work hard at it. The situation had obviously moved beyond the simple I'm sorry and poof its fixed stage.

All through tennis practice my game was off because I was working on a way to approach Tai, and by the time practice was over I still hadn't thought of anything.

Oh well, here goes nothing… I thought to myself as I walked towards the soccer field, where all the boys were coming off of the field.

I found Tai rather easily (after all with hair that big, who wouldn't notice him?) and moved towards him.

All the other players seemed to have kept their distance from Tai; even Daisuke was watching him, from a distance. He was the first to notice me, and he ran towards me.

"Sora, don't, Tai's really out of it…" He started to say, but I just held up a hand stopping him.

"I know Daisuke, I chickened out of this earlier when I tried to talk to him, but I've got to talk to him." I told Daisuke, before moving past the young boy.

"Tai." I state as I stop a few feet from him. He fixes me with his dead stare.

"Sora." He replies with his dead voice, and I shudder, but press on.

"Listen, I know you're not feeling great, we can all see that clearly, but there are some things I need to talk to you about, and apolo…." I manage to get most of that out, but before I can say apologize Tai holds up a hand, silencing me.

"Sora, I owe you an apology." He said, louder, but still emotionlessly. I choke on my words as he says this, and try to stop him, but he beats me to it.

"You were completely right the other day. I've been a horrible friend to you and Matt and I won't be bothering you anymore." Tai says all of that, and walks away, leaving me there.

"But Tai…" I say futilely after his retreating form, "I'm the one who should be sorry, I was wrong." With that I collapse into tears, and fall on my knees.

"Sora…" I hear a voice say, and I look up to see Daisuke standing there, holding out a hand. "Don't give up yet, he just needs some time."

I took his hand, and he pulls me to my feet. I looked at him, getting a little of my determination back.

The Next Day...

Kari's POV:

Today, everyone will come to see if Tai was okay. We will go to the digidestineds meeting today.

End Of POV:

Everyone was in the park. They were waiting for Kari and Tai to arrive, Cody was suspicious, he thinks that someone was watching them behind the shadows.

"There they are!" Yolei said excitedly.

Kari and Tai stopped a few feet from us, and Tai just stared at the group. Kari hesitated for a second, Sora stood up.

Sora stepped infront and took a deep breath. She hope that she won't chicken out of this.

"Tai..I need to apologize for you. I've hurt you far worse than I could ever imagine being hurt, and I did it for no reason. I don't even know why I did it, but I know now that it was the worst thing I could have ever done.

I hurt you, my best friend, and I broke a promise that I never meant to break. I know I don't deserve it, but Tai can you forgive me, and come back to us." Sora pleaded as Tai stare at her.

Tai had just stared at everyone. His eyes became really deadly. He stared at the group with his cold and deadly stare. Everyone was shivering in fear.

For one last time, he turned and walked away. Kari and Daisuke were shocked to see him do that. Everyone felt ashamed when Tai did this. For Sora, she can't stop her tears that flowing in her eyes.

"I've destroyed Tai! I've ruined him!" Sora cried in anguish as Matt comforted her. Suddenly, a voice spoke.

"So are you happy fools, you finally got your wish..you can live happily without courage." The voice laughed wickedly.

"Who are you?!" T.K asked angrily.

"Soon, courage will fall!" The voice turned out to be...Daemon.

"So you're the one who were watching us!" Cody gasped in shock.

"I see you have found out, how clever. But soon, the courage shall fall!" Daemon said wickedly.

"What have you done to Tai?!" Matt asked angrily as he glared at Daemon.

"Oh, you mean courage? I kidnapped Courage after he walked away!" Daemon answered evilly.

"How dare you did that!" Joe shouted.

"You monster!" Mimi screamed.

"Farewell fools! See you in the afterlife, you will soon join courage. You digidestineds shall fall!" Daemon said wickedly as he disappeared in the shadows.

"Tai.." Sora sobbed loudly.

"We will get him back Sora." Matt said.

"Let's save Tai!" Daisuke declared.

"Right!" Everyone agreed.

In somewhere..

"Get ready to fall..you're gonna pay for hurting me..You will all fall! the digidestineds must fall and no one should escape alive!"

To Be Continued..

Who's the guy who wanted the chosen ones to fall? why will the chosen ones are gonna pay for hurting him? and why Daemon was alive?
