The wind of Land of Fountains tickets Saki's cheeks. She smiles a little, brushing
some of her auburn hair off her face with her fingers. While she spends the weekends are her special days off. She to
spends the weekdays playing with her school's softball team or studying to be a business woman, weekends are her special days off. She get to spend time with her boyfriend and Cure Partner, Joel Kealen Fennell. Some times they go to
Land of Fountains, just like today.
And their friends are in Land of Fountains as well. Mai is off to the clinic to help the injured. Nagisa is making accessories, usually surrounded by children. Ayumi is in the Fountain's library with Flappy and Jim, bringing a new novel
of hers for both of them to read and comment on. And Aoi opened up a small
stage somewhere to sing for people, Hikari and Choppy by her said. And Saki...well, she's
with Joel in a garden somewhere a little far away from the fountain. They sit back
to back while enjoying their beautiful surroundings.
"So, how's your studies going?" Joel ask, breaking the silence. "I'm improving a little myself".
"Good, I guess", Saki replies. "My grades are improving also, but there are still some things I don't understand sometimes".
"You need some help with it?"
"Not today," the shakes her head. "It's my day off".
"You mean, our day off".
Saki giggles."You been watching 1000 ways to die again, haven't you?".
He just did his impression of show's narrator Ron Perlman.
"This Santa was a Loser no doubt about that, Merry Christmas to all and thank God he got whacked"
Saki just laugh at that.
Joel sighs. There's something that has been bothering him for a while now. He's been meaning to tell Saki something. Something very important. But he just doesn't have the courage. Plus, he and Saki is no ordinary couple. Saki is human,
while he's half with with demon blood of the Deadman's Hand of the West. Even so, since they've been dating for a while now, he kind of wants to move forward.
"Joel?" Saki call softly.
"Hmm?"
"Um...I'm not really sure how to put this, but" Saki hesitates. "I kind of wonder... about...about...something".
Saki smiles a little. Joel can Imagine Saki's blushing cheeks while she talks. Her voice even shakes a little. She's always like that when she's nervous. What
is it that she want to know?
"What is it?" Joel asks her. He meant to turn his face to hers, but Saki shakes her head.
"No, no stay like that!" she says, shrieking a little out of panic. Joel stays in his position, but instead holds out his hand to reach hers and link their fingers together, hoping that the simple motion would calm
her down. Saki sighs. "Um, I've been wondering". she starts. "Since when do you feel like, this about me?"
Oh, Joel smile even wider, blushing a little. "I don't really know when the feeling started, but I realized it when we went to Nightmares Headquarters and they made you and our friends jump into a hole".
Saki remember that time clearly. Everyone and the Cures was forced to wear the Masks of Despair and they fell into a false
world. It was Joel who found her and helped her return to their senses. Somehow, she was able to hear his voice
calling her name over and over and she
desperately reached for him that it broke
the mask. The auburn-hair girl hugs her knees, hiding her tomato cheeks even though Joel can't see it.
"Man, that time I realized how scared I was if I were to never see you again".
"Oh".
"How about you?" Joel asks her.
Saki tightens her grip to her knees, hiding
her face even more. Her blushing face fees warm. "Um...since the first time we met and, when you save me from getting hit that car". she say nervously"...I guess".
"Guess?" Joel tries to tease her.
"Jeez!" Saki hides her face even more as it gets more and more red. Joel laughs a little, turning his body to face her.
"Sa-ki!" he called.
The embarrassed girl just shakes her head over and over, refusing to show her face.
"Come on Saki!" Joel says, trying to loose Saki's grip to her knees so that he can see her face.
The girl grunts and looks up to him, her face still red. She smiles a little. "Hehe. This is so embarrassing!" she claims, taking a deep breath to calm herself down.
This is his change. Joel tries to calm the unbelievably fast beating of his heart. If he's going to say it, this is the time. "Yo, Saki?"
"Hmm?"
"I..damn it"
Saki tilts her head a bit to the side, her eyes full of question, but she waits.
"Nevermind. Do you want to go to where
everyone else is?" Joel says, standing up.
"what is it?" Saki gets to her feet.
"It's nothing, really", Joel replies with a smile. He takes her hand. "Let's go!"
