Ok so this is the same day and the same activities but Renada's day instead of Margret's or Melina's.

DISCLAIMER: The OCs are mine. The insanity is mine.

The rest of everything goes to JK Rowling. Good job, girl.

RENADA POV

SHOPPING

"Here, Renada darling, try this wand," suggested Benjamin Alton, Renada Alton's Muggleborn father. "Oak wood and dragon heartstring, rigid."

Renada took the wand and waved it, but ended up shattering the lamp.

"Goodness, no. I think unicorn hair would do well." commented Ollivander, the freak in who's shop the Altons were in. "Try this one, crab apple wood."

The crab apple wood wand set a shelf on fire.

"Hm, clearly not. How about… ash wood, short but bendy."

This process continued for an uncharted but looooong amount of time. Finally, Renada landed on snakewood, unicorn mane hair, long and flexible. It curved slightly and had amber specks in it. The tip sharpened to a point. Renada loved it.

The Altons (as in, the parents, Cynthia and Ben, as well as Renada, because Zola was at home and Ignacio was at a friend's) were here to buy Renada's supplies. As Zola was still at Hogwarts (sixth year, dating prefect Ingrid Macmillan. Yes, Renada's sister is gay, I felt like it) but she had elected to stay home, so they bought her things as well.

Wandering into the Magical Menagerie, Renada's ears were assaulted by the familiar shrieks of pets. Walking up to the counter, she recognised the figure there and grinned.

"Abby! Haven't seen you in like a month! How's it going?"

Abigail, known as Abby, Fawley smiled at her young friend. "Everything's good, Renada. Hey, your friend Melina just came and bought an owl!"

"Yeah? Who was it?"

"Coffee. You remember him? Big old screech owl, testy about who he trusts. Likes Melina, though."

"Good sign, Abby. Good sign."

"Yeah. Why did you come?"

"To buy treats for Nina, to be honest."

"Ah yes, Nina. I remember her. Dark brown, white face, abnormally large eyes? As in, for an owl?"

Both laughed. "Yeah. She likes owl mints and the like. You got any?"

"Of course!" Abby disappeared behind the counter before coming out with some of the treats. "How on earth did Nina get to owl mints?"

Renada shrugged. "Zola had some lying around for Magnolia, her snow owl. You remember him? Nasty temper. Nina got to them; no surprise, actually, since wanders around the house as she wants. It's a big house. Anyway, thanks. Here's the money. You got any kittens lying around?"

"Yeah. There are five actually. All from the same litter. What, you want one?"

"Mhm. I've wanted a cat since forever, and now my mom is finally allowing me to have one. What are they like?"

"Let's look." Coming across to the "kitten basket", Renada squealed. They were all so cute!

"So this tabby one," Abby lifted a kitten who was trying to get out, "we call him Timmy. He's the oldest and the most energetic. This is Caramel here." She put Timmy back and took out a reddish brown sleeping one who growled a bit because of being lifted. "She is always sleeping. Miss Morning here, the one who looks like Timmy, is Caramel's exact opposite. She never sleeps, I swear. Constantly yowling throughout the night. I think Timmy and Morning have, like, a competition of some sort. This is Penguin. We call him Business Goose because that's what he is. A penguin is just a businesslike goose and Penguin always acts like he has business to take care of." Penguin turned out to be the last tabby, but his stripes were much darker than Timmy's and Mornings. "And here is Cocoa. We named him that because he seemed to be friends with Coffee." Cocoa was a plain brown.

"Aww." Renada paused. "Can I take Timmy and Morning?"

"Sure. I honestly can't imagine what they'd do without each other."

"Excellent! How much do they cost?"

The robes came next, while Father went to buy all the other supplies. Except for the books, of course. Renada was going to buy those herself.

The robes went well. Everything was fine other than Morning trying to interfere. Based on the way Timmy seemed to cheer her on, Renada guessed it was a dare. Father bought the supplies. Now… the books.

As her parents let Renada wander, it took her two hours to come back. During this period, Timmy had shred a hole in his basket, which had to be patched up with a blanket. As well as her course books, Renada bought some Muggle crime books (she loved crime everything: books, videos, TV shows. … Augusta Christy was her hero. As Renada would say, And Then There Were None… beauty, sheer beauty. They all die!), a book about different magical horses for Melina, the third book (which had just come out) for a series Renada loved, and many others. Coming to the front desk, Renada put down the heavy bag. The worker smiled. There were stories about The Girl With Strawberry Blond Hair in libraries all across Britain (as the Altons traveled a lot). Renada knew this, of course, and took full advantage of it. She must've been new, as this was Renada's favorite library and she had never seen the young woman - girl, really - before.

"Hi. Renada Alton, The Girl With Strawberry Blond Hair, right?" the attendee asked. Renada nodded, and the worker squealed. At this point, Renada was like a minor celebrity or something.

"Oh-my-god-oh-my-god-oh-my-god-could-I-please-get-your-signature-please-please-my-friends-will-never-believe-me!"

"Sure. I come by here often. You're new, aren't you?"

"Yes, I started two days ago. Thank you so much for the autograph! Could I check the books, please? Ooh, starting Hogwarts? I'm in fifth year!" Great.

"My sister Zola's in sixth year. Dating Slytherin prefect Ingrid Macmillan. You know her?"

"Zola Alton. Slytherin prefect Ingrid Macmillan. No, I've heard of Macmillan, but never met her. I'm in Hufflepuff. Never heard of any Zola Alton. Oh! Isn't Macmillan the one who dated Hufflepuff Seeker Nathalia Nott last year?"

"Yes, for exactly one week. Anyway, what's your name?" Renada needed to know who to avoid.

"Ellie Rosier. Is that it, The Girl With Strawberry Blond Hair?"

"Yes, Ellie. That would be all."

Wish I'd met Melina. She could've saved me from that tittering idiot.

THE TRAIN

The Altons - Cynthia, Ben, Zola, and Renada - came onto the platform. Scanning the crowd for a chocolate brown high ponytail, Renada finally found her mark as Zola went over to greet an old friend.

"Melina!" she cried. Melina turned around. Most wouldn't notice, but Renada took note of how the sight of her childhood friend never failed to make her happy. Despite Renada being a half-blood , the girls had known each other since they were both six.

"It's time," Melina announced in a grave voice. Renada gave her a hard look before erupting into giggles. "I mean, it's literally time. The train leaves in four minutes."

"Shoot! Come on!" I can't be late! Zola would kill me!

As the two children moved along, it became apparent that their late arrival resulted in all the compartments being full. Honestly, wizarding god. Really? The emptiest compartment held a short girl, another first year by the looks of it, with thick dark red hair. Next to her sat a girl with long black hair and cheerful features. Renada knocked. The occupiers looked at each other, then the red-haired girl called, "Come in!"

"Margret Lestrange, a pleasure." Melina said calmly. Ok, so. Black-hair's name is Margret Lestrange. Most likely daughter of Cullem Lestrange. Somehow, Melina knew her. Who's the redhead, though, and why is she gaping? Am I growing antlers? Is she a Muggleborn? Both seem likely.

"Heiress Bulstrode, the pleasure is mine." Margret replied, clearly automatically, before grinning. "So, how's it going, Melina?"

"Good. Meet Miss Alton, Renada Alton. Miss Alton, meet Miss Lestrange, Margret Lestrange." Gee, Melina, thanks for not ignoring me.

"Ok, I'm curious. Why does Melina get a title and Margret and Renada don't?" Redhead asked. Aha, so she's a Muggleborn. I WAS CORRECT! Oh, Melina will never hear the end of this.

"Because said title is 'Heiress'. It means you are the oldest child and inherit the family money and land. I have an older sister and an older brother, and I assume Margret does too. Melina only has a little brother and a whole lot of horses, but I doubt they count." Yes, Renada knew that the mention of Cassy, Night, and Thunder would anger her friend, but she was bored.

Melina scowled and rolled her eyes. Most people found it creepy, but Renada found it funny. She knew perfectly well Melina would never harm any of them. "Yes, Renada, the horses don't count because they're not human. And no, it's not a lot. Only three. What's a lot is the entire stable. I don't own the entire damn stable. Only Cassandra, Nightmare, and Thunderstorm."

"And God help us if she starts talking about them," whispered Renada. She just couldn't resist such a golden opportunity. "Anyway, who are you?" Renada diverted her attention to Redhead.

Redhead smiled. "Lily Evans. Pleasure to meet you." MORE CONFIRMATION THAT I WAS CORRECT!

"Same." Renada took out a laptop and buried herself in it. She had promised to hangout Ingrid - who was like a big sister to her - when she got on the train.

Ingrid

You there

Words appeared on the screen almost immediately.

Oh

Renada

Renada rolled her eyes and typed,

A pause, then Ingrid said,

Moms calling

I have to clean

Tell me what house you get into

Feeling lonely Renada replied,

Sure bye

Bye!

Was the response. Now truly bored, as the others were talking about something ridiculous, favorite candy, Renada went to YouTube. Like it wasn't obvious that the best candy is Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans!

Something caught her eye. "The Watcher" is on Dementor Crime? The Watcher sounds cool. Sure, why not?

The Watcher turned out to be really interesting. Renada was convinced it was the kids, as those letters sounded like what she would write at two in the morning. Randomly hearing her name, Renada internally raged for a second at Melina for telling everyone about her love for Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans.

As they came off the train, they were met by a beautiful sight. Hogwarts loomed out of the mist that hung into the air. Let the Sorting begin!

A/N TIME! Pamela (the Ravenclaw that's going to join them) will buy Caramel just so that Caramel can't sleep because she's in the company of her annoying siblings. Amn't I evil? *maniacal but also my natural laugh* also SPOILER the person I'm eventually like fourth or fifth year going to ship with Melina (although we will meet them first year) will have Cocoa END SPOILER. I have no idea who they are or even what gender. I also have no idea if that person will break her heart or stay with her or break up with her and then get back together. Guess I'll find out! Also, the next chapter is enough with these girls and going on to the Marauders, which will be fun. Also, I AM GASP SOMEONE FAVORITED WHAT HOW thank you so much AlecLightwoodMagnusBane you have no idea how happy I am.
