"Is this… death?" Ichi asked himself. He feels alive… but yet he holds no physical form nor is he able to sense anything. His mind is just floating around aimlessly in the infinite void. He doesn't know how long it's been since being here but he has been here long enough to think over his life and his brothers deaths.
"Are they experiencing what I am experiencing?" Ichi attempted to search for a presence around him but he sensed nothing and dwelled back into his own mind.
"Death… is such a cruel fate… so unfair to be here… without them." He could feel his mind being torn apart by the lack of communication without his brothers yearning to talk to them.
"Is this my… punishment? For devouring worlds and murdering Trillions? …it must be… I deserve no mercy or forgiveness… maybe that's why I'm here and they aren't… they deserve better than me." Ichi thought to himself.
"Yet… I can see so much clearer." Ichi scanned past memories from events from the final battle against Godzilla to the day they were born. He remembers… something a long time ago. He remembers they're first bloody battle to the first world they conquered. There was always a voice there guiding them to whatever needed to be done. Ichi hated that voice. It was the reason that they perished against Godzilla.
Yet… there was no voice right now? Ichi cleared his thoughts momentarily searching for the command voice. He felt no presence nor sound throughout his mind. It was clear and nothing intruded it but that's made Ichi even sadder. His brothers weren't around and Ichi had to live like this. If he was chosen to live his remaining life wondering aimlessly in the void while his brothers were free, then that's what made him happy.
His brothers shouldn't suffer, only him and speaking of his brothers. Ichi scanned more memories in his mind and watched countless episodes of him and his brothers talking, eating together and fighting. The memories would be something he would cherish here. This is comfortable enough watching himself lecture San and correct Ni. He of course being the eldest brother always look out what was best for them.
He was the first to mature the fastest and eventually the grow slowed. He thinks his brothers are already matured but have developed unique personalities and that what makes them special. Ni was always a fighter and San being the slow one. San always did something that Ichi or Ni didn't like and majority of them time he would be trying to make it up to him or at least impress his brothers.
He continued scanning him memories after memories taking in every second. It was like reliving his life again but eventually as time progressed in the endless void he was coming to a close He reached the present day before his death taking note that Mothra possesses some sort of spiritual energy that revitalized Godzilla and turned him into the form that killed him and his brothers.
The Golden King reign was brought to a end and now Ichi lives and suffers in a dimension he doesn't know of. Just the empty silence of which he floated around in.
He eventually was able to shift more around with his mind but no matter where he went the void took him nowhere. He continued to watch memory after memory and pretty soon it was becoming unbearable. He missed his brothers and begun to feel empty without them. He missed San being annoying and troublesome and missed arguing with Ni, enjoying the small things they fought over.
They shared one body and had individual minds but together they felt like they could accomplish anything. They were believed to be the universes true king and gods. They were proven wrong however and paid the price in full. Ichi whimpered to himself using his mind to voice a identical noise since he had no vocal cords.
"I hate it here… I want to be with you guys… I'll let San do whatever he wants for a entire day and Ni too. Its at least something I can give them. We can go for a hunt maybe go look at the stars. San loves that, don't you brother?" Ichi was delusional expecting his brothers to be nearby. There was nothing but silence in the void and Ichi begun breaking down. His mind melted with emotions and his tough pride shattered.
"Can't you guys hear me…. I miss all of you… don't leave me here…" he whispered.
Ichi mopped as he scanned more memories over and over again and as if he paid no attention to it his memories can across Rodan.
"Rodan… are you perhaps… here?" He knew full well he wasn't but wondered where he went when he died.
He gazed across Rodan's features as he didn't really get the time to actually take in the Fire Demons appearance. There was too much to be done and Ghidorah was demanding. He watched as they treated the Fire Demon harshly despite swearing loyalty to them. Rodan just took the abuse and did as he was told knowing full well questioning them world lead to severe consequences. Even doing everything as he was told and he was still treated like dirt.
Ichi felt disgusted at himself but recalled the voice that plagued them so much to be relentless and aggressive. The Fire Demon could've easily changed sides during the final conflict against Ghidorah and yet the prehistoric bird remained loyal to they're king.
Ichi wondered what was going through Rodan's mind during that fight. Did he believe that the outcome would be in Ghidorah's favor? Even so Ghidorah still fell to the might of Godzilla and Rodan too perished against Mothra taking a possibly life-threatening wound to the chest.
Ichi huffed. "It was because of HIS failure that Mothra resurrected Godzilla." Yes indeed, Rodan failed to kill or mortally wound Mothra to the point of incapacitation. Ichi couldn't stay mad for too long though. The damage has already been done. Rodan is dead, Ichi is trapped in the void with no brothers around and they failed to hold they're title as King.
"Where did we go wrong? Ichi asked himself. He recalls how Godzilla had help from the planet's inhabitants and his queen. They had a common enemy against Ghidorah and used everything they could to stop him. Ghidorah was close to becoming the Alpha of the planet and yet at his prime he fell.
"Maybe it was for the best" Ichi mumbled. The voice that once commanded Ghidorah however was a major component in terms of losing against Godzilla. They were forced to follow the command however unable to block it from they're mind.
Ichi dwelled back into mind and thought of his brothers again and how he missed them. He thought he imagined it at first but he swore he heard something from within the silence. He opened his mind and listened for the noise he suspected of hearing. Nothing came and he nearly closed himself back up until it came again. This time he was sure of it and attempted to pinpoint the location of where it emitted from.
After a minute he heard it again and more clearer. It was a voice and Ichi nearly got excited at the thought that perhaps one of his brothers were here with him. Ichi surged forward towards the noise pausing every so often to make sure he wasn't trailing off from it.
The voice was more clearer than ever. "Ichi, wake up!" The voice yelled. Ichi immediately recognized it as it was San calling for him, but Ichi became confused as to why he was telling him to wake up. From what he knows, they were dead and not sleeping.
It didn't matter to him though, he wanted to unite with his brother in this hell. "I'm coming brother!" Ichi cried out moving swiftly in the darkness. Unexpectedly after traversing the void for so long, he crashed into a invisible barrier stopping him dead in his tracks. He hissed in irritation by the sudden crash and listened for San's voice thinking that he drifted away from him
"Ichi, please wake up!" San cried out. His voice was beyond this barrier and he sounded distressed. Encouraged Ichi backed away from the barrier and prepared to begin slamming himself against.
He collided against it again and again attempting to break through the solid wall. After several failed attempts he finally heard a crackle across the wall. Ichi continued barraging his mind and attempted to call for his brother to no avail.
San voice was softer this time as he heard his brother choke on his words. "Ichi… Ni… p-please wake up!" He could've swore his brother was crying for him and this pushed Ichi beyond his limit. Motivated and determined, Ichi collided against the wall in a final push and felt it shatter inward.
Once he was on the other side Ichi began to feel, smell, and hear San if he was next to him. Ichi searched everywhere feeling himself become heavier and more tense. He was so close but couldn't find his brother. He heard his whimpers and cries but wasn't there to comfort him.
San's words echoed into his mind. Wake up…. Was he actually sleeping and in a coma?
Ichi acted as if he had a body. The feeling was there, he could smell him and hear him as clear as day. There had to be no doubt about it and Ichi roared in desperation. He commanded himself to awaken and felt more control come to him with his body. Its was numbness at first but eventually his mind locked in like a gear and he felt himself connect.
"SAN!" Ichi eyes snapped open and he let loose a roar raising his head into sky and colliding his head against a solid object above him. He hissed in pain as his head throbbed from the impact. He shook his head in attempt to shake off the pain but he didn't need too as the voice beside made him forget it existed in mere instants.
"Ichi!" San exclaimed happily. Ichi whipped his head to his left to stare face to face with San who was recovering from his tears. "I'm glad you-" San was caught of mid-sentence as Ichi rushed towards San and rested his chin onto his head and pulled San into his neck.
San was speechless of the act and Ichi Nuzzled San affectionately and proceeded to inspect his brother's head. "Are you ok, San" Ichi asked his flustered brother.
San was still recovering from the surprise as it was rare for his brother to show this volume of love and worriedness. He embraced the comfort as he missed his brother dearly. "Yeah… I'm fine Ichi, thanks," San purred.
"Good... I'm glad," Ichi choked, trying to not to fall apart inside.
"Wait, where's Ni," Ichi asked pulling away from San and looked towards the right of him where Ni's head was resting. His brother too was induced in slumber just as Ichi was. "Ni, wake up!" Ichi ordered prodding his brother with his snout. Ni stirred in his sleep showing how close he was to awakening and Ichi took the opportunity to pinch onto his nose with his teeth, pushing down enough to cause Ni to bleed.
Unlike San he was willing to wake up his brother through a more aggressive way. Ni eyes shot open and he roared in pain raising his head smacking against the ceiling above them. "Owww, what the fuck!" he cursed, hissing in annoyance. His tongue slithered from his mouth and onto his snout where he lapped at the wound. He stopped almost immediately when his gaze met his brothers.
Just like he did to San, Ichi swiftly brought his chin around the back of his brother's head and neck and pulled more into the middle where he nuzzled his brother. San joined in and Ni protested against the action, but he didn't resist.
"What? You poor sobs couldn't live without me," he joked weakly trying to hide the pain of missing his brothers.
"Oh, hush Ni," Ichi responded and his groomed the both of his brothers. "I missed you guys," San purred rubbing his face against Ni's and the underjaw of Ichi's.
"We all missed each other," Ichi responded reaching out with his mind to meet his brothers. Each of their minds met and formed into one sharing their emotions and worries with each other. Whatever conflicts, issues or sense of pride against affection was washed away. They shared the troubles they had being alone and without each other to rely and support upon.
Being separated for so long left each other brother realizing how attached they were to each other. Whether if one was always strict, an asshole, or a goofball it dawned on them that it didn't matter. They each had special personalities that suited them and that's what they loved about each other.
After several minutes of cuddling as San would put it Ghidorah scanned they're surroundings wanting to know the full extent of where they were and how they got here. What thought to be a cave turned out to be a manmade structure. The wall was metallic in nature while several objects stuck out from it. Small lights illuminated the area allowing the golden dragon to have some sort of sight. They were unable to find a exit seeing how they were boxed in from all sides. The lack of space irritated them barely giving enough room to allow them to stretch their wings.
Their attention shifted when orange lights began spinning next to a bulky portion of th3 wall and slowly the wall lifted upwards revealing a large glass panel. Ghidorah lowered their heads to its level and peered inside. Unsurprisingly, humans were seen on the side of the glass and the sight of Ghidorah froze them in place.
One human who seemed like the leader as he was pointing around at everyone turned to Ghidorah with his arms raised to the ceiling and seem to almost mock the Golden King. Ichi huffed at the unpleasant sight and asked his brothers to follow his lead.
Preparing to unleash they're gravity beams onto the humans and free themselves from whatever prison they were held in several of the objects that prodded from the wall began glowing blue and before Ghidorah could react they unleashed a volley of cold blue beams. The dragon reared back in pain as the extreme cold sent volumes of pain throughout the dragon. The severe cold chill was way worse than the temperatures they felt in space and the stinging sensation that followed it left Ghidorah in agony.
Any attempts to fire their gravity beams was meant by more volleys of the beams. The line was drawn when San was struck in the neck and the amount of pain he felt, it echoed throughout his brother's mind.
Ichi left out an earth-shattering roar, bloodthirsty for the humans to die by his talons and shielded San with his own taking a majority of the blows to his head and neck. San was dumbfounded by his brother's actions unsure on how to react. Ichi seizing the opportunity as the beams temporarily ceased reared back his head in a striking pose, He did something unexpected and something the humans were not prepared for. With full force he launched his head against the glass bulkhead shattering it and bending the metallic structure inward before releasing his gravity beam point blank.
Explosions erupted from inside the structure as flames and smoke rushed outward passing the sides of Ichi head. Screams and cries from the humans were momentarily heard before the crackle of fire and groaning of damaging metal took its place. Ichi pulled his head from the structure and huffed in satisfaction.
His glanced at his brothers knowing full well that it would've taken a lot more to actually cause sufficient harm to his brothers but he couldn't help himself to ask. They're cries haunted him from the battle against Godzilla and only brought back his failures to safeguard them. Even though San lost his head before and Ichi knew that their regenerative properties would've healed his brother in no time he doesn't want to take it for granted afraid that someday his brother may never return.
His suspicion would be correct against they're battle with Godzilla left his to become more overprotective of his brothers. For too long they wondered away from each other in the darkness of the void with no source of communication or knowledge they any of them were alive.
"Are both you ok?" Ichi asked with concern.
Ni smirked showing a row of his sharp teeth. "It's going take more than those pathetic things to bring me down." He straightened his neck and head almost puffing out to show off his strength.
"You didn't really need to do that, Ichi… but thanks" San mumbled unsure how to respond.
Ichi moved up towards his brother and San almost seemed to regret stating he didn't need his help but to his surprise instead of a usual retort from Ichi he nuzzled his brother's snout. "I rather take the burden of being in pain than to see you, San. I think you had enough of that for one day and that goes for you too, Ni."
San smiled at his brother's words. "Thanks, Ichi" he said and purred in gratitude.
"Nah, mate, you not need to worry about me, I can handle myself." Ichi didn't fight his words. He knew Ni was too prideful to accept any offer of help but he also knows that they have to rely on each for basically anything.
They're attention was soon brought towards the ceiling as the metal shifted into the side of the walls. A large tunnel awaited them and from the top they could see what possibly could've been sunlight creeping in from a slit from the top. They're exited awaited them and Ichi checked with his brothers to see if they were ready.
Giving the go ahead from each, Ghidorah barely managed to spread his wings to allow himself to fly towards the top and together as one unit unleashed their gravity beams into the surface. Explosions erupted and Ghidorah rose through the smoke and into the blue sky.
They noticed that the surrounding area had more humans running about scrambling for their lives as the sky around them became a warzone with missiles and bullets. Ghidorah unleashed they're gravity beams against the earth severely damaging the occupant's home.
They didn't stay to cleanse the entire base but proceeded Southbound across the mountainous terrain. The world around them was covered in a blanket of snow and Ghidorah felt the cold temperatures nip at their scales and wings while their breath was visibly seen leaving their mouth.
"Soo… where do we go from here?" Ni asked setting one eye on Ichi.
Ichi was dumbfounded too. Where do they "really" head from here. From what they already know is that Godzilla killed them and that if they revealed themselves again no doubt the Kaiju would come for them once again and murder them. Ichi already knows the outcome of the fight if they went against each other. The humans would also be after them but he knows that if they didn't provoke the humans there was a possibility, they would leave them alone unless they wanted to waste countless lives against him.
They could escape the planet if they wished… no going out there is not a option. Whatever voice command them was no longer present in their mind, diminished by Ghidorah's death. They were free, to a degree, but no doubt if they left the planet and traversed space once again, they would be discovered. Ichi would not allow his brothers to become puppets once again and die for a cause they do not wish for.
They failed to obtain the title as King and for that they nearly paid their life for it.
No for Ghidorah they must seek Solitude and isolation from the world and figure out what they can do to survive. As long as Godzilla is unaware of them, they should be fine.
They will have to avoid the other titans as well and be careful with the storms they produce. No doubt Godzilla has already taken control of the other Kaiju and if they are spotted by any of them, it will spell doom for him and his brothers.
But what home can accommodate them for the time being? Ichi thought hard and a spark crossed his mind. The Fire Demon's home – Rodan – was still intact. As far as they knew the bird perished at the hands of Mothra during the battle in the human city. The area was far and isolated from any civilization. The city there evacuated and with the volcano being active, they doubt they will see the return on any sentient life.
"Come brothers, I know exactly where to go." He shared his thoughts with them and they acknowledge the move. Flying at a decent altitude they gained they're heading and proceeded there.
Author notes: to not get confused, I use Ghidorah to treat them as a whole while only using their names during individual actions or thoughts. So, if I say Ghidorah has their chance. Their meaning all three heads :P
I also know San is called Kevin, but I have an idea in the future to earn him that.
