I have a job interview tomorrow! Wish me luck.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

And I apologize for the ending of this chapter.

Words: 2,578

"Come on, Reid, we're going out for drinks." Spencer is shaking his head before Derek can finish his sentence. He'd like to go out with the team any other time than right now.

"Sorry, Morgan," Spencer apologizes to his friend while standing from his seat.

Sighing, Derek throws his head back in exacerbation. "Come on, kid. I'm starting to think you're avoiding us on purpose."

"I'm not," Spencer huffs a laugh as he gathers his things. "Just, busy."

"Yeah, with what?" Morgan raises a brow at his friend, smirking when he stumbles to come up with a worthy excuse. "Or, you know, who."

"I'm not- it's no one," Spencer says but quickly backtracks. "I mean nothing." Groaning, the young man throws his messenger back onto his shoulder. "I'm leaving."

"Catch you later, pretty boy!" Morgan shouts after his friend, laughing to himself when Reid only picks up his pace.

Sighing in relief as the elevator doors close, Spencer checks his watch for the time and allows his shoulders to relax. He had plenty of time to get to Robin's apartment. Not that there really was a deadline exactly, but she'd asked for his help so he'd get there as soon as he could.

When arriving outside her door, Spencer doesn't need to knock. He uses his key and unlocks it before stepping inside. The sight that greets him has his lips turning up into a smile. Robin sits at her piano, a small girl next to her trying to follow the woman's lead as she slowly hits certain keys, sending a slow melody through the air.

Upon hearing his entrance, Robin turns to her boyfriend with a big smile. "Look whos here," She stands, offering the child her hand to help her to her feet. "Ava, you remember Spencer." The girl nods her head quickly, using the hand not latched onto Robin's to wave at him.

"How was work?" Robin asks him, pecking his cheek quickly.

"Work," Spencer shrugs before turning to the girl standing at his feet. "Hey, Ava, wanna see a magic trick?"

The seven-year-old nods her head eagerly, her smiles stretching across her face as Spencer pulls out a coin and kneels to her height. He makes a point to show it to her before covering it with his hands, making it disappear.

"Where did it go?" Ava asks in amazement when Spencer shows her his now empty hands.

"I think," Spencer furrows his brows as if he's confused and reaches his hand towards her. "I think it's behind your ear." He then makes the silver coin reappear and hands it to her.

Robin observes the interaction with a fond smile. Ava is Mandy's niece. She needed to work an extra shift and Ava's mother is out of town on business so she asked Robin to look out for her. And naturally, she asked Spencer if he wanted to help her babysit.

"Alright, you two, time for dinner," Robin ushers the two of them to the kitchen. Spencer helps Ava onto a chair before going to retrieve cups and plates as Robin pulls a pizza from the oven. "Now, as much as I'd like to take credit for this, Ava did most of the work."

"Did you?" Spencer asks the girl who once again nods.

"I did the cheese," She says proudly, poking the piece of food set in front of her.

"Huh, that's my favorite part," Spencer carefully sets a cup of water in front of Ava before walking around to sit with her and Robin. The couple and child eat together while keeping up appropriate conversation.

"Can we play a game?" Ava asks after she finishes her food, carefully sliding herself from the chair and onto the floor.

"Sure," Robin says, chuckles when the small girl takes Spencer's hand and leads him into the living area. She can't help but watch them. He's so good with her. With all kids really. It makes her think...

Setting the dishes into the sink, Robin then joins the two people sitting on her living room floor with plans to wash them later. "Alright, what do we have going on here?"

"Candy land," Ava states simply as she sets up the bored.

"Forgot I even had this," Robin mumbles to herself, smiling and accepting the game piece. "Okay, refresh my memory, how does this work?" Ava wastes no time jumping into her explanation of how the game words. Robin is sure the girl makes up some of her own rules but she and Spencer go along with it anyway. She's just glad the child even likes board games.

After being defeated thoroughly and more than one time by a seven-year-old, the adults and child find seats on the couch where they watch a Disney movie of Ava's choice.

The young girl sits between both of them and leans into Robin's side. The woman absentmindedly runs her hand over the girl's hair, nearly putting her to sleep.

"I don't understand it," Robin whispers Ava's head to Spencer. "But she's always so excited to sleep on the couch."

Spencer smiles but doesn't let his laugh escape. "I don't know, I found things exciting as a kid people would probably call weird."

"Oh, yeah, like what?" Robin raises her brows with a grin. "What was seven-year-old Spencer Reid interested in."

"Reading," He shrugs, fighting to pull his lips down.

"Yeah, super weird," Robin mumbles sarcastically, huffing a laugh when Spencer nudges her shoulder. "Nah, I was strange at seven too."

"Sounds like some fun stories."

"Yes, ones you will never hear." From her, anyway. Robin's been really thinking about going home lately. And she'd like Spencer to meet her parents. Maybe. She changes her mind every three to five minutes.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Spencer whispers to her but leans back when Ava stirs.

"Hey, kiddo, you with us?" Ava nods in response to Robin's question and brings her tiny fists up to rub her eyes. "Want to lie down now and go to sleep?" After another nod, Robin slowly stands as Spencer does the same. She grabs the pillow she's gotten out earlier and sets it on the arm of the chair, patting it for Ava to rest her head on.

"Song," The girl mumbles.

"Song?" Robin questions while moving the covers over her shoulders. "Oh, alright, you convinced me. Do you have one in mind?"

"Um..." Ava hums for a minutes and Robin smiles over her shoulder at Spencer. "Mommy sings rainbow."

"Rainbow," Robin repeats softly, a fond smile appearing on her face before she clears her throat, shifting to get comfortable on the edge of the couch. "Someday I'll wish upon a star

Wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Where trouble melts like lemon drops

High above the chimney top

That's where you'll find me, oh

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly

And the dream that you dare to

Oh why, oh why can't I?

I, oh"

Robin trails off and smiles softly at the sleeping child. She gently brushes some hair from her face and places a kiss to her forehead. "Goodnight, sweetie. You staying the night?" Robin smiles when Spencer nods and grabs his hand with a tired sigh. "Here," She passes him a pair of his pajamas and he takes them before going into the bathroom to shower. Robin takes that time to change herself and move the covers down the bed.

She sits on the edge of the furniture with a heavy sigh. The shower shuts off and the young woman picks at her nails while she waits for her boyfriend to come out. Two minutes. She'll change her mind within one to three more.

Spencer's hair is wet and ruffled. Robin can't help the huge grin that takes over her face when she sees him running his hand through it. "What?" He asks when he sees her staring.

"You're so cute," She states as if she can't believe it. She nearly can't if she's honest. How can someone be that good looking?

Chuckling, Spencer lowers his head to hide his blush. Though Robin tells him he's handsome all the time, it always makes him smile that bashful smile. "I look like a wet dog."

"Case in point, wet dogs are adorable." Robin laughs quietly when Spencer falls onto the bed and wraps his arms around her, burying his face in her neck. Chills run down her spine when the cold water from his hair hits her skin, but she doesn't pull away. "I was thinking..." Or was she?

"Thinking what?" Spencer pulls back questioningly when she doesn't continue.

"Uh," Robin shakes her head. The five minutes were up, she'd changed her mind.

"Is something wrong?"

"No," She's quick to assure him. "No, nothings wrong, not really. Just...struggling with a decision."

"Do you want to tell me about it?" Spencer questions, shifting to face her better.

"Well, it does involve you." His eyebrows shoot up in interest, any worries eased but Robin's soft smiles. "I think..." Clearing her throat with a deep breath, Robin takes one of Spencer's hands into her own. "I want...to...go home?"

"Was that a question or a statement?" Robin snorts and shoves Spencer playfully. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," He apologizes. "I think it's a great idea."

"You know you'll be coming with me if I go, right?" She looks up at him, raising her brows and nodding when realization dawns on him. He wants to meet his girlfriend's parents, he really does but he's never...done that before. What if they don't like him? What if they disapprove?

"I wouldn't have it any other way."

"You say that now," Robin huffs." Just wait until you actually meet them."

"Well they raised you, they can't be too bad."

"Wow, okay, good point," Robin nods and takes a deep breath. "Thanks, I feel better." As if a weight lifted off her shoulders. Though the pit in her stomach was still there.

"Good," Spencer leans forward and places a kiss to her cheek. "You ready to get some sleep."

"Beyond," She sighs. "Long day."

"Me too," Spencer moves around the bed and crawls under the covers next to his girlfriend.

"Probably longer than mine," Robin mumbles tiredly and snuggles into Spencer's chest. "I'll make you breakfast in the morning." Her words are nearly drowned out by the yawn that escapes her.

"You don't have too," Spener mutters sleepily, rubbing his hand up and down Robins back.

"I do," Robin nods against his chest. "Ava needs to eat too."

"Oh, right. I'll help."

A weak chuckle escapes Robin, her hand gripping his lose, sleeping shirt. "Goodnight, Spence."

"Goodnight, love."

A smile has sat on Spencer's lips all morning. He barely even notices that it's there. He woke up with it on his face, his arms wrapped around Robin. Things have been going good. Great, even. He hopes after his meeting with Hotch, they'll stay that way. There are still times where those thoughts and feelings will creep back up on him, but instead of shutting her out, Spencer talks to Robin about it. It's like a talent, he's told her, how she can wash away his negative thoughts so easily.

The silver elevator doors in front of Spencer reflect a barely visible, distorted version of his frame, his lips still curled up. He's been thinking the last few days, about the team and Robin. There's still that urge to keep her as far away from this part of his life as he can, but these people are his family. He wants them to know her, meet her, because she's his family too.

Robin is all for it. She wants to meet them, she got so excited when Spencer brought the subject up. Then there's the problem of how to introduce them. He doesn't think the team suspects anything. Not this, at least. He's not an idiot, he knows they've noticed a change in the way he's been acting. But he doesn't know how much they know and he appreciates them for not bringing it up. Giving him his space and not trying to force answers out of him.

The elevator doors ding open and Spencer happily walks out of them, his faithful feet carrying him to his desk where he removes his messenger bag before taking a seat. Hotch and Rossi are already here and Spencer has no doubt the others will be trickling in soon enough.

As he suspected, Emily finds her way into the room with Morgan by her side, JJ following a little ways behind. "What's got you all smiley this morning?" Prentiss asks, alerting Reid to the fact that he was still grinning.

"I had a good morning?" He shrugs, unsure of what else to say. It is the truth, after all.

"And night?" Morgan questions with a smirk, raising his eyebrows when Spencer looks over at him, laughing at the younger man's face. "When are you going to introduce her to us?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Reid says loud and clear but turns his eyes down to his desk.

"Hm, avoidance." JJ hums, laughing along with the others when Spencer lowers his head even further.

"Who's avoiding what?" Penelope suddenly appears, her eyes scanning the room as she awaits an answer to her question.

Spencer opens his mouth to say 'nothing' when he's cut off by his phone ringing. He glances down at the device while the others laugh at whatever and furrows his brows. Robin never calls him at work unless it's important. She'll text him, sure, but she doesn't call.

"Ooh, bet that's the mystery lady now." Morgan chuckles but Spencer doesn't smile or pay his joke any mind, instead, he walks away, leaving Garcia to question Derek on what he's talking about.

"Robin?" Spencer questions into the phone immediately after he turns the corner into a quiet hall.

"Uh, no," A familiar voice that is not his girlfriend's answers, only confusing the agent even more.

"Mandy?" Reid asks, shaking his head as he opens his mouth to ask why she's calling him from Robin's phone.

"Spencer," Mandy cuts him off before he can, her voice sounding worried and a little frantic. "Robin was arrested." Spencer's voice becomes caught in this throat when those words hit him. What? He can't say it aloud, can barely even think it. That was the last thing he ever imagined hearing. How? Who? What?

"There was a knock on the door and the next thing I know the cops are leading her away in handcuffs." Mandy continues only a moment later, unwilling to wait for the man on the other end of the phone to speak.

Mind snapping back, Reid finally finds enough of his voice to ask. "Do you know the charges?"

"Murder."

Gasp! lol. Well, that just happened. What's going on? I'd love to know the thoughts running through your minds!

Thanks again for reading! I really hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
