Thanks for reading and reviewing!
I could not come up with a name for this chapter lol. It's short and I just couldn't and I have to leave for work soon so I was rushed. So, that's my excuse lol
Words: 1,485
Robin immediately jumps into the shower when they arrive back at her apartment. Spencer takes to making her something to eat even though he knows she's lost her appetite. He doesn't really know what else to do.
Talking isn't something Robin shies away from. The woman doesn't shy away from many things. But her past is one of those things. So having Walsh shouting many of those bad memories back at her, in front of Emily no less...well, it's not good. She'll act like she's is fine, but Spencer knows she's not.
When the shower turns off, Spencer leans against the counter. He doesn't have to wait long until Robin walks around the corner, drying her wet hair with a towel. Goosebumps cover her bare arms and legs, causing Spencer asks. "Are you cold?"
"A little," Robin admits and continues walking towards him until her chest is pressed up against his. "But you can warm me up."
"You need to eat something," He tells her but doesn't stop her from wrapping her arms around his neck. His own go around her waist and he lets her pull him down towards her, their lips connecting.
"Not hungry," Robin pulls back just enough to whisper before kissing him, lifting herself onto her toes, allowing Spencer to turn them so her back is pressed against the counter. He returns her kiss with just as much urgency as Robin does but he's the one to pull away.
"Robin, just-"
"What?" She asks but doesn't give him the chance to answer before she's kissing him again. Spencer wants to kiss her back but he doesn't. Instead, he places his hands on her shoulders and gently pushes her away.
"Robin," He says again and she sighs, falling back down to her feet in defeat. "Don't do this, talk to me."
"I'm sorry," She apologizes, trying her best to smile but failing. Now she feels even worse, using him as a distraction. Robin places a hand over her mouth when a wave of nausea rolls through her. "Sorry." She says again, not noticing the way her leg bounces until Spencer places a hand on her knee to stop it.
"You have nothing to apologize for," Spencer cups her face in his hands, brushing some wet hair from her face. He places a soft, quick kiss to her lips before pulling away, his thumbs rubbing her cheeks. "Come here." He then wraps his arms around her shoulder's pulling her to his chest. He feels her hands squeeze the back of his shirt and he rocks them gently.
"I'm okay," Robin's muffled voice reaches his ears a few minutes later. She pulls out of the hug but not away from him. "For a second there I thought we would fight. I don't know why."
"Because-..." Spencer cuts himself off, waiting until Robin looks up at him. "I think you do know." He tells her softly instead, watching her gaze move away from him and to the side.
"I-I don't," Robin takes a deep breath through her nose and releases it through her mouth. "Don't really want to talk about that."
"Maybe you should."
"No, Spencer," Robin shakes her head, still avoiding his gaze. "Not today." He nearly argues, goes as far as opening his mouth but no words escape. He nods instead, running his hands up and down her arms.
"Okay, not today," Robin can hear the double meaning in his words. Not today but someday. And soon, if the expression on his face is anything to go by. "Is there any point in asking you to eat again?"
"No," Robin shakes her head, taking her umpteenth deep breath of the day. "But thank you," Taking his hands in her own, Robin pulls the closer to here. "I love you. I really need you to know that."
"I do, I do know that," Spencer nods, eyebrows furrowing. "Of course I do. I love you, too."
Robin huffs a weak, humorless laugh. "I really needed to hear that."
Using a single finger under her chin, Spencer lifts Robin's head. He makes sure she's looking into his eyes before he repeats. "I love you."
"I know that's not easy."
"No," Spencer shakes his head. "It's the easiest thing I've ever done."
His words bring tears to Robin's eyes. She nods before leaning forward, resting her forehead on his chest, arms wrapping tightly around him. It feels as if she lets him go, he'll disappear.
"Don't leave," Her voice is muffled by his shirt but Spencer hears her easily. He tightens his arms around her.
"I'll never leave you." He knows then that he's never spoken truer words.
A short text is all Robin managed after getting home. Sent out to her closest friends who were aware of the situation, letting them know she was okay, that she was home. That Spencer was with her. She hadn't been up for much more.
Instead, she wrapped herself in a fluffy blanket and all but glued herself to Spencer's side. And true to his word, he doesn't leave her. When night falls and the couple move to bed, Robin forces herself to lie still until sleep finally comes. Dreams of nights long past fill her mind until the sun rises.
The nightmares leave Robin feeling nauseous and anxious all morning. She skips breakfast but by noon the images plaguing her mind became blurry and distant. Spencer makes them lunch and this time, Robin eats.
Thankfully, work doesn't call Spencer away. The teams kept him updated on the case, much to Walsh's chagrin. He tries not to think about it, choosing to focus on his girlfriend instead. Who still claims she's fine but Spencer knows better.
"I don't think you should go into work tonight," Spencer's worlds halt Robin's movements. She turns from where she's sorting through her close - distracting herself - and raises her eyebrows at him.
"Oh?"
"Come on, Ro," Spencer stands from his seat on the bed and walks to stand in front of her. "Just take tonight off. We'll have dinner...talk."
"I think I've talked myself out for a year," Robin mumbles with a shake of her head. "Possibly more." She grabs Spencer's waist and rocks herself back and forth.
"No, come on," Spencer's voice turns playful. He knows how much Robin hates even the thought of fighting, and he doesn't blame her after what happened. "I love it when you talk."
"Yeah?" Robin asks, looking up to him through her lashes as her lips turn up.
"You're voice," Spencer nods, dropping his head until their noses are touching. "It's calming." Robin huffs a laugh and presses a kiss to his lips. "But if you don't want to talk, you can always sing."
"I have been working on something."
"Oh, yeah? You gonna let me hear or keep it away like always?"
"Like always?" Robin scoffs and pushes him away only to pull him back to her. "I'll show you when it's finished."
"You always say that."
"Yup," Kissing him again, Robin moves around Spencer but she pauses and turns back. "Spence," She waits until he's looking at her before speaking again. "Thanks."
"Anything for you, love."
The rest of the day is quiet. The couple just spend time together until dinner. Neither felt like cooking so they ordered take out. It's then that they're interrupted. Robin's phone vibrates for the fifth time and the woman slides it under her leg with a sigh.
"She's not happy I pushed the trip," She says to Spencer, pushing her food around with her fork. "And no, I did not tell her why."
"Maybe we shouldn't wait," Robin raises a questioning eyebrow, a motion for Spencer to continue. "Getting away for a bit might be good."
"Did you clear the time off with your boss?" Robin asks without voicing her thoughts on his suggestion.
"Didn't get the chance," He doesn't say why but he doesn't need to because Robin does.
"Because I got arrested, right," She mumbles but there's no heat in her words. "Well, there's no rush."
"I think your mother would beg a differ," Spencer points out and Robin nods. "Look, he knows I wanted to talk to him. I can go in tomorrow, figure it out then."
Sighing through her nose, Robin chews her lip in thought before nodding. "Yeah, okay. Just...whatever time you can get."
"Alright," Spencer smiles and motions to her plate. "Eat your vegetables or no dessert."
Robin can't help the loud laugh that escapes her.
Oooh, they going to meet Robin's parents?
I've caught up to my writing lol. And with work and my other stories, updates will be even slower. I um, also started another CM story. I'm super excited for it to.
Hope you guys enjoyed! I always love to know what your thoughts!
