Thus far Megan had been rather unsuccessful at getting Duffy to open up but that was as much as she expected whilst the kids were rushing around. Now later in the evening, both kids sound asleep having earlier had a chat with Charlie on the phone. Her eyes were on the dog, asleep at her feet as Megan handed her a glass of wine. Her stomach flipped. She sighed thinking back to the call with Charlie, she was short with him barely saying a word before passing him to the kids. Feeling Megan's gaze she knew she was going to run out of excuses soon enough.

Sitting across from her she offers a sad smile, clearly something had gone on, Charlie's voice on the phone told her as much. Like his wife he was rather vague but she wasn't sure if he was completely ignorant to what was going on or just not saying. Only one way to find out.

"So now the kids are asleep, want to talk?"

"Not particularly but I'm guessing that's not really an option." She was yet to meet Megan's eye, her focus on the wine in her hands.

"I can't force you but clearly you need to talk or you wouldn't be here." It saddened her to see Duffy clearly so upset but avoiding whatever the issue was wouldn't help, not in the long run.

"I don't know where to start."

"Wherever is easiest for you pet." Glancing up from the glass she sees the worry, pity, in Megans eyes. She doesn't need or want that. That's not why she's here.

"I think...I think Charlie is having an affair." Her eyes widen at Duffy's statement, Surely not?! Surely he wouldn't do that to her?

"What?! What makes you think that." Her eyes quickly returned to the glass, not wanting to see Megan's doubt.

"He's always late home from work, more than usual and only when he's on shift with her." Her? Who was her?

"Her?" Who did she think? Who on earth else would it be?

"Baz." Megan's face instantly changed, she'd been so sure Duffy was overreacting until that name was mentioned. Anyone else she'd have fobbed her off but not Baz. She knew better than that.

"Ah." She didn't want to say anymore but if she didn't, it wouldn't make sense would it?

"It's not just that..." The tears she desperately tried to keep at bay began to rush forth. "He kissed her...He doesn't know I know." Shock quickly gave way to rage, how dare he! Her voice quickly stepped up a notch, rage pouring out.

"He what?! Oh you wait until I get my hands on him!" More tears, her breathing quickened. There was more.

"Don't Megan. Please." Wiping her tears away, furious at herself for letting her emotions get the better of her she continues, her voice thick with more tears. "It's all happened at the worst possible time too." Christ, what else could possibly be going on? How much was she hiding?

"Worst time? How? What else is going on?" Her voice was a stark difference from Megan, the more she talked the quieter she got, the harder she got to understand.

"The day I found out about them was the day I found out I'm pregnant." Taking a shaking breath, attempting to control herself she can't bare to look at Megan.

"Oh love! Does he know?" No wonder the poor love was in such a state, what a mess!

"No of course he doesn't! This wasn't planned. I can't tell him, not now!" Placing the wine glass down, untouched she sighs. "I'm shocked you didn't work It out. It's already getting hard to hide." Her eyes dart down to her changing figure, hidden under her skirt and loose top. If Charlie hadn't been so distracted lately maybe he'd have noticed but he didn't seem interested in her anymore. Not in that way.

"It never entered my head, I was too preoccupied with how much weight you'd lost. How far gone are you? You need to tell him." Scoffing, momentarily forgetting who she was with she let her mouth run.

"Well that was a waste of my time and effort wasn't it? All for nought now!" Taking another breath in, she tries to settle her emotions and voice. "10 weeks today."

"Oh pet you really need to tell him." Running her hands through her hair, pulling it back from her face she wondered what on earth she did to deserve all this.

"I can't! I planned to tell him last night but he didn't come home until god knows when. He spent our anniversary with her instead. I can't tell him now, not until I decide what to do." She didn't like the way she worded that. She wouldn't?

"What do to? You aren't considering an abortion are you?" Shaking her head quickly, too quickly she needs to explain, really explain.

"No! Of course not! I mean my marriage. If I tell him he'll do the 'right' thing. But not because he still loves me." Finally glancing at Megan she sighs. "There's a house near here up for rent I could afford and an agency is advertising for nurses. Less pay but we could get by. That's why I'm here, to check it out." Her heart rate increases at the other woman's words, clearly a lot of thought had gone into this. Her insist to run and protect her children strong.

"Duffy, you can't just leave without talking to him. If you talk and still want to leave then I'll support you and the kids in any way I can but please talk to him!" If she thought she'd cried a lot before she was wrong, very wrong. Taking a tissue from the table she tries to settle herself and fails miserably to the point it wakes Copper up.

"Of course I don't want to leave, I love him Megan! Clearly he doesn't feel the same way."
