So I honestly don't know what to say here other than this is my first ever attempt at doing a Fire Emblem Awakening Story and well I guess I've had this idea in my mind for at least a year now, this idea had first started out as just a concept for a character since I always tend to go overboard with those, so I guess without further ado welcome to the second chapter of Fire Emblem Apostle!

Although our march back to Ylisse was short it definitely wasn't uneventful with the addition of the two new Members of the shepherds who were idly walking just a few feet behind my Big brother, taking a moment to sigh as the familiar sound of Frederick's horse came up next to me
"Milady need I warn you once more not to trust those two Especially with how weak their Stories are, Admittedly we have yet to hear anything from the weird individual Kaye I believe his name was. Even if I don't fully trust him, He has my thanks for what he did last night." Frederick remarked, making me groan in response "It doesn't matter, he saved my life." I responded when Ylisse finally came into view I could hear two very different sounds of awe prompting both Frederick and I to look over to Robin and Kaye seeing the shorter of our two white haired companions staring with a child look of awe whilst the taller of the two seemed to have a look of being homesick.
As we entered through the main gate we received a warm welcome from the gatekeepers that was promptly returned by Frederick and Chrom which gave me a moment to fall back turning around to face Robin and Kaye "Welcome to the Capital of Ylisse!" I exclaimed as we finally made it to just outside the main road to see a large crowd of people "Oh it seems the exalt is gracing the townsfolk with her presence." Frederick stated walking next to us pulling gently on the reins of his horse "The Exalt is your ruler,Yes?" Robin asked, raising his hand slightly as Frederick turned his gaze on the mage
"Yes, Indeed her name is lady Emmeryn." as he spoke I barely had time to notice Sully and Virion had already left the group and were making their way to the Shepherds' Garrison giving Chrom the chance to slink back to us when finally our other companion spoke up "Is it safe for her to walk among Commoners like this?" Kaye asked from the back of the group as I finally realized something.
'Why does he vaguely give off a feeling similar to what I feel when I use a Mend Staff' as I finished my thought apparently Frederick had finished whatever he was saying as well when Big Brother spoke up " With Plegia poking at our borders, the people need her, She's a calming presence, when some might otherwise call for war." The explanation seemed to sit well with the two newcomers in the form of a nod and a shrug. "Your people must be really lucky to have her." Robin responded, making me smirk "She's also the best big sister ever!" I exclaimed as a look of realization followed by horror spread across Robin's face.
Some time had passed since Robin had a mental breakdown after finding out Chrom and Lissa were related to The Exalt which was amusing to say the least I mean the only reason I knew already was from what knowledge was gifted to me from Naga, shortly after that happened we actually met her in person the whole time though she kept casting a glance towards me it was the same kind of look that Lissa had given earlier when I had spoken up. The whole conversation was short between all of us as I only spoke when they asked which was actually quite little and afterwards Lissa led both Robin and I to the Shepherds' Barracks from the outside the building felt nothing like what a Garrison should look like though I can't say much because of where I came from. "Welcome to the Shepherds' Barracks, Come on I'll show you around." Lissa cheered as she once again grabbed both of us by the arm pulling us through the main entrance.
I barely noticed someone sitting in a chair in the corner of the room before my attention was quickly drawn to Maribelle who seemed to have a look of concern on her face as she grabbed Lissa's hands "Lissa darling! How are you, are you hurt at all?" she exclaimed as Lissa returned the gesture with Equal enthusiasm "Aw, you worry too much. I can handle a battle or two!" she exclaimed before groaning.
"...Although I could do without the bugs and bear barbecue.." prompting me to gain a look of confusion on my face before deciding to look to the white haired tactician to my right getting his attention with the act " When we found you it was while Frederick was out hunting for food, long story short he killed a bear and we ate that whilst tending to you." he whispered in a attempt to not interrupt Lissa conversation with Maribelle. Taking a moment I glanced around the room once more taking in who was here 'Maribelle,Vaike,Sumia, and Kellam.' I mentally counted off in my head as my gaze fully fell onto Kallem who was sitting quietly in his chair watching the conversation as well before he finally seemed to notice me looking at him "Y-you can see me?" He asked standing up and walking over to me receiving a nod in response from me "I'm Kallem, it's a pleasure to finally meet someone who is able to see me, I assume you and that other man are new recruits am I correct?" he asked with a faint smile forming on his face with his hand extended out to me.
"You would be correct, My name is Kaye and that is Robin." I stated shaking his hand as a loud resounding belch prompting both of us to turn and face the shirtless man know as Vaike "I'm sure I have much to learn in the belching arts, "Teach." In any case, it's a pleasure to meet you all." Robin remarked as everyone's attention followed Lissa as she pulled me forward with a surprising amount of strength that caught me off guard "Now to introduce our other new member, everyone this is Kaye we found him shortly after meeting Robin, he'll be joining as a vanguard for us." Lissa exclaimed as Maribelle,Vaike, and Sumia looked me over before the brute of the bunch asked the question that was spread across their faces.
"Where is your weapon." He asked as I lifted up my gauntleted hand "Don't need one." I shrugged as the door behind me closed and a hand fell onto my shoulder "Well then my friend, mind proving that out on the training field before we head out tomorrow?" Chrom remarked as he took his hand off my shoulder allowing me a moment to to respond with a nod.
After Chrom led us outside to the small training field I took the time to observe Kaye and how he fights for future reference, as I heard Chrom call out "You sure you don't want a weapon?" Only for him to nod and get into his stance. His legs were evenly spread out and he had his gauntlet hand brought up in front of him whilst his uncovered hand was pulled back into a fist, giving off the feeling that his style of fighting relied heavily on the gauntlet. As Frederick gave the countdown it only took a second before both of the fighters clashed in the center of the training field, Chrom having decided to go for a downward slash with the Falchion, whilst Kaye had only braced his unarmored arm under his gauntlet and angled it so the Falchion would scrap along its surface harmlessly and followed it up by ducking a slamming his elbow into Chrom's side.
The fight continued on like this for a couple minutes before Chrom's brute strength found its way through Kaye's defenses forcing Him to trip and fall backwards as the Falchion came dangerously close to Kaye's neck before grazing something. "What was that just now." I muttered bringing my hand to my chin replaying the scene in my head. Whenever the Falchion made contact with Kaye's gauntlet no scraps or mark were left on it , then there was what had just transpired Chrom seemed to have used too much force in the thrust and There is no way Kaye could have planned for that. Tuning back into the fight I was surprised to see that Kaye had recovered from that fall and batted aside the falchion once more "Frederick, have you noticed anything odd about Kaye's fighting style?" I asked looking over to the knight who only momentarily glanced in my direction receiving a very stiff nod in response before he spoke "The way he's fighting is relying too much on timing parries and counterattacks. It's a style of fighting not commonly used by any army, It is quite interesting to say the least." Frederick states as Chrom once more accidentally brings down the Falchion with his ground shattering strength forcing Kaye to bring up his gauntlet to do a full on block, but what took all of us by surprise was that instead of using the back of the gauntlet he outstretched his unarmored hand towards the unbreakable blade "Rho Aias !" He yelled as a ethereal oval of light formed in the path of the Falchion bringing it to a grinding halt prompting all who were present to stare in awe as the Falchion struggled against the magic barrier looking closely though I started to notice the faint beginnings of cracks forming where the Falchion was touching the barrier and the several small serrations that had began to form on Kaye's arm " Stop the fight ." I said turning to Frederick who had apparently come to a similar conclusion "My Lord, I think that is more than enough." He called out catching the attention of the two fighters Chrom pulling back from the barrier allowing Kaye some breathing room though the barrier didn't dissipate immediately the Serrations on his arm did stop bleeding and his stance seemed to be unstable I thought to myself right as he started falling over "Chrom catch him!" I signaled to the prince as he stabbed the Falchion into the ground and caught Kaye by his arms and Frederick and I jogged over to examine our unconscious Vanguard "I think it is safe to say he must have overexerted himself with all the fighting he's done and whatever that spell was." Chrom remarked while struggling to lift up the once more unconscious Kaye "Frederick, little help." He groaned prompting Frederick and I to raise an eyebrow before helping "Yes,my lord." As they took him to his room I stood watching as the barrier stayed active, taking the time to examine the cracks as well as the overall composition of the barrier.
"You have done good work my child." A voice called promoting me to once more open my eyes and see that I was once more in the void "There is no need to speak my child I already know what you wish to speak about the reason you passed out from using your magic is quite simply, The body you now inhabit requires time to get used to the presence of your magic. Though that does not mean you will be unable to use it at all, just for now you are only Able to use one petal of Rho Aias a day." Naga spoke as I turned to face her and she continued on " When I first brought you through the portal there were some complications that seem to be inhibiting your body and soul, for now though I believe it is only a minor setback. Rest for now it will be awhile till we can speak again."
