Evil laughter poured through the dark mist, as everything seemed to spin around crazily. I managed to hold myself steady on some kind of wall, it was like flesh, but ice cold and has no softness at all.
Suddenly, she realized she was leading on flesh and quickly retreated her hands and looked at the creature. It was humanoid, with flowing dark hair that floated in midair like there was no gravity. She wore a dark-colored dress, although it was hard to tell, because of the dimness. Annabeth tried to look at her face, but it was blurred and with all her surroundings spinning around. She could tell that her features were once beautiful, but something was wrong.
The mist cleared, and the mysterious woman revealed herself.
The left side of her face was pretty - except for the fact that she was deadly pale. On the other side of her face, well, Annabeth had a hard time concentrating on the features. One moment, only the skeleton of her face remained, her eyeball replaced by pure light. The next moment, she looked like someone skinned her or something, showing only her muscles, blood dripping down to the ground. Each second, she seemed more hideous than before.
"Annabeth Chase…"She woman's mouth did not move, which made her think of Gaea. Anything like Gaea was probably as hard to beat as Gaea, maybe even more.
"What...What do you want," She stuttered, trying to sound confident.
The woman chucked, which sounded like freezing steel scraping a wooden floor.
"I do not mean to harm you, my dear,"
"Who are you," She asked cautiously, inching back.
"Not who." she snapped, which made Annabeth flinch, "What. Well, my dear, I am Hel, the goddess of the underworld."
The goddess of the underworld? Annabeth was confused, but a tiny idea sparked at the back of her mind.
"I am offering you, my dear, a chance to join me, before…" She trailed off, not revealing her plan, which sucked.
"It's too late,"
"Before it's too late to do what, and why do you want me to join you?"
She grinned, which made her scarier than before if that is even possible.
"Why I am going to destroy the gods of course!" Of course, She thought, why not? It's not like I spent 6 YEARS defeating Titans, a Primordial Goddes, and two freaking Egyptian semi-gods!
"And if you don't join me, I will destroy you too! Oh, and your silly brother, also. What is it you Greeks use? Instant Messaging? No, Iris Messaging, right? Right, if you don't Iris Message me in 3 days," She is definitely crazy, Annabeth thought, "you, your silly brother, your camp, those stupid Egyptians, you will al be destroyed! HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"
And with that happy thought, a vortex of sand opened up beneath her and swallowed her whole.
