Alrighty, new Phineas and Ferb fic. I've actually been wanting to write some more due to how much I enjoyed writing Serious and consequently The Collections, but considering that that was my ideal ending to Phinabella, I was struggling in terms of what else I could do. In the end, I just put a ton of names, situations and ships into a random name generator and this is the idea that came out. Due to this, please take into consideration that this is by no means serious but just a bit of fun for me.

Anyways, into the story: I don't own any Phineas and Ferb characters, places or themes only this idea.

It all started during Danville High's final class on a Tuesday afternoon. Chemistry class to be precise. The last chemistry class, in fact, of the gang's first year of high school. That final week of school is always the most boring week as there's nothing that teachers are willing to teach their students only for them to forget it all over the holidays. In honour of this, every lesson was filled with fun activities or going over what they'd already covered in the year.

Chemistry class, unfortunately, was of the latter's nature. As such, no one was paying any attention… maybe with the exception of Baljeet and Ginger who were already starting to get ahead on their college applications. For Baljeet, this had been going on for quite some time but Ginger had only started to get into it since the two of them had officially started dating. Their mutual crush had been obvious for years and had finally been acted upon. They had been going strong for two years now.

Phineas, like most of the class had zoned out. But, unlike most of the class, he was not daydreaming. Far from it in fact. He was subtly staring at Isabella. For the last year or so, he had begun to feel… things for his best friend and couldn't exactly work out what these things were. He had at first put it down to puberty and hormones but as the year went on, he began to realise that maybe, just maybe he might just like Isabella more than friends. But the notion was crazy since she obviously had no interest in him whatsoever. He followed her eyeline to the clock. She was too smart for this class, no wonder she was waiting for it to be over. Why would someone as smart as Isabella ever want to be with someone like Phineas?

Of course, the reality was far from what Phineas thought. Isabella did want to be with someone like Phineas. At least… she thought she did. If she was being honest with herself, she was beginning to feel like maybe, just maybe it might just be time to give up on her silly little fantasy. It had, after all, been almost six years now since she had fallen for him and yet in all that time, he had never seemed to like her as anything more than friends. No matter what she had done, tried or said, he remained oblivious to her feelings; surely that was a sign that they weren't meant to be together? She followed his eyeline to the window. He was too creative for this class, no wonder he was waiting for it to be over so he could rush home and built another crazy invention with his brother that afternoon. Why would someone as creative as Phineas ever want to be with someone like Isabella?

A huge sigh of relief filled the room as the final bell rang for the end of the day. The twenty or so students got up and started going their separate ways. Baljeet, Phineas and Ferb all crowded together at the front of the classroom while Ginger and Isabella headed towards the door.

"Buford is driving me insane," Baljeet was saying. "He's asked for help with last night's homework again, and we all know that 'help' obviously means he wants me to do it for him. It's the last week of our first year of high school. You'd think he'd be more responsible by now."

"Well, we'd better get out of here so you can make a start," Phineas joked as they made their way to exit the classroom.

"Oh, I forgot my sports bag." Isabella slapped her hand against her forehead before turning to Ginger. "It's by the door, I'll be right back."

She hurried back into the classroom at the same time Phineas was hurrying out and the two of them slammed into each other, sending books and pens sprawling all over the floor.

"Gosh," Phineas cried. "I'm so sorry."

"No, no," Isabella assured him. "It's my fault, really."

They both bend down to grab their things but as they reached for the final book, their hands brushed against each other and they both froze. Heat rushed to both of their cheeks as they snatched their hands back.

"Sorry," Phineas stammered again before scooping it up and handing it to her. "I… I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah," she replied quietly. "See you."

And then he was gone, walking so fast down the hall he was almost running. Isabella gulped and stood up, grabbed her bag and stumbled towards the exit in much the same fashion.

Baljeet crossed his arms. Ferb blinked in a defeated way. Ginger put her head in her hands.

"That was a train wreck," she grumbled before flinging her arms in the air. "They are a train wreck!"

"I'm more fed up with this whole situation than I am with doing Buford's homework," Baljeet agreed. "It's painful."

"I want to scream," Ferb commented and the other two nodded their heads.

"We need to do something," Baljeet decided. "We need to find a way to get them together and soon."

"By the time summer rolls around," Ginger offered. "We're not doing anything during lessons, it's the perfect time to be focused on something else."

"Sounds like a fun challenge," Baljeet mused. "Ok then. Let's meet at the Fireside Lodge later this afternoon with everyone else. This operation is going to require all hands on deck."

At the lodge later that day, there was a huge turnout. The awkwardness between Phineas and Isabella had been noticed by almost their entire year. Even if they weren't particularly close with the two, there was nothing more common of high schoolers than to get involved in juicy rumours. Of course, this did mean that the circumstances were hugely blow out of proportion and most of the people who showed up were under the impression of some rather horrifying things.

After shooing away these people, Baljeet turned to the Ferb, Buford, Ervine, Django and the Fireside Girls.

"So," he began. "You all know why we're here?"

"We need to get Isabella and Phineas together," Ginger took up the narrative. "They both like each other but are under the impression that the other doesn't feel the same way."

"Typical high school romance story," Ervine commented. "It's going to be a great addition to my scrap book."

"Anyways," Baljeet sent a frown his way before continuing. "We've set a deadline for the end of the school year."

"I suppose throwing them in a bag together and not letting them out until they get together isn't an option?" Buford asked.

"No," Baljeet said before reconsidering. "Maybe as a last resort."

The group descended into silence, thinking. They all cared about Phineas and Isabella and it wasn't their intention to force them together and ruin their friendship. But it was getting too hard to bear much longer. The two of them barely even hung out anymore because they were so awkward around each other. They went out of their way to avoid each other in the hallways and yet spent any free minute looking for or at them. It was such an insane situation and if it went on for much longer the two would never get together. The Fireside Girls especially knew that Isabella was on the verge of giving up. Unless Phineas showed her that he returned her feelings, she would find a way to move on and then they might never have the same relationship again: friendly or romantically.

"If it really is a 'typical high school romance story'," Adyson said slowly. "Why don't we do some research in to cringy high school romance movies."

"Do we even have the time?" Gretchen challenged. "Summer officially starts on Friday afternoon. We only have three days."

"What happens if we go over the deadline?" Katie asked.

There was an uncomfortable silence before Baljeet finally spoke up, "Then we might have to forget it."

"Ok, well what do we already know about cringy romance movies?" Buford put forward. "How does it usually work in them?"

"The boy woos the girl with a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates," Adyson offered.

"Or the girl gets with someone else to make the boy she truly likes jealous," Milly suggested.

"Well we know Phineas won't do anything to woo unless he knows for certain Isabella likes him," Baljeet sighed. "And we can't have Isabella being with someone else because that will just convince him even more she doesn't like him."

"Well what do you suggest?" Buford demanded.

"I don't know," Baljeet muttered. "Maybe we just need to put them in a romantic situation together?"

"Like a date?"

"They'd never agree to that," Ginger shook her head. "Unless… unless they don't think it's for them!"

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Baljeet asked and Ginger nodded.

"Double date!" They both chorused together.

"But we're talking about Phineas and Isabella here," Gretchen pointed out. "They'll probably insist that you two go alone to enjoy your evening together."

"Us?" Ginger asked.

"You two are the only couple here," Buford said pointedly. "Who else would it be?"

"Ok, so what if we tell them it's just a friendly gathering," Baljeet proposed. "I'll call Phineas and Ginger, you call Isabella. Don't take no for an answer."

"We'll start work on making sure it's the most casually romantic evening possible," Gretchen gestured to the rest of the Fireside Girls.

"What should the rest of us do?" Buford was referring to himself, Ferb, Django and Ervine.

"Try coming up with something in case this doesn't work," Baljeet said, pulling out his phone. "It's not wise for us to put all our eggs in one basket."

"So, tomorrow night?" Ginger looked towards her boyfriend as she dialled Isabella's number.

Baljeet nodded as he raised his phone to his ear. "Phineas? Hey, what are you doing tomorrow afternoon?"

"Hey Isabella! Are you free tomorrow afternoon?"

"That's great!" Baljeet sent a thumbs up Ginger's way but she mimed the cut throat motion. "Oh, wait I just remembered I'm doing something, what about Thursday afternoon?"

"Thursday works for you?" Ginger nodded at Baljeet but he shook his head. "Actually, that won't work for me… what about Friday? Great."

"Great," Baljeet echoed and they both hung up looking worried. "We're set for Friday night… which is our deadline."

"If this doesn't work," Ginger trailed off but everyone was completing her thought in their heads.

If this didn't work, Phineas and Isabella might never get together after all.

And that's chapter one. I know it's short but like I said, this isn't something I'm seriously working on, just a bit of fun while I'm on holiday. Hope you enjoyed either way.
