THE HIDDEN PRINCESS
CHAPTER 1
"Once upon a time, there were three golden goddess's that descended upon a barren world, bringing life, law, and order to it. After finishing their task and satisfied with their work, they ascended back into the heavens, leaving behind a sacred relic, The Triforce, at the point of their departure. The goddess's youngest sister, Hylia, goddess of the moon, was tasked with keeping this world safe. In order to ensure the safety of this world in her stead, she created new beings that were faster and stronger than the rest, their senses sharper, and had the ability to transform into powerful, majestic wolves. Hence the first werewolves were born, and that's how we came to be, our ancestors were the very first."
The young boy explains to the small figure curled up beside him, earning him a small "wow" of amazement from her tiny lips. He chuckled at this before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss against the small girls forehead. She giggles and sits up on her knees before bouncing slightly in excitement as she looks into the young boys eyes with a bright smile.
"Big bwother, when I grow up, will I be as cool as our an-ancestors?"
She asks, clasping her tiny hands in front of her chest. The young boy smiles and nods his head, earning a delightful squeal from his little sister and he can't help but laugh. She's just too precious. He loved his little sister more than anything in this world, and vowed to be her protector since the day she was born. He couldn't help it, even at the age of 7, as soon as he saw her and looked into her beautiful blue eyes that took on brilliant violet hues within their depths, something inside him swelled and he vowed to never let any harm come to her. It wasn't until later that his parents took him and his slightly younger sister aside to tell them the importance his little sister held.
::FLASHBACK::
"Lucian, Maridia, your baby sister is not a normal child. She was born on the night where the full moon was at its peak and shown its brightest. The rays themselves seemed to flow into your mothers belly before giving birth to her. Thus when your sister came into this world, we knew she was the chosen child from prophecy."
The king stated, earning him some confused looks from his children who were only 6 and 7 years of age. They weren't understanding anything their father had just told them, but they knew deep within their hearts that what he was telling them was very important and they nodded in understanding after a few minutes. The kings shoulders relaxed, relieved they understood the importance and a smile formed on his handsome, if not tired face.
"My children, only a few people outside the royal family even knows of your sisters birth. We must keep it that way, for the sake of the kingdom-nay, the world. For if our enemies found out about her, they would no doubt use your sister for evil intent."
The children nodded once more. Lucian was determined to keep his sister safe, however, Maridia nodded, but it wasn't heartfelt. Even at a young age, she was pampered and the people worshipped her for her beauty and grace. So why wasn't she this chosen child? Why did it have to be her baby sister? Even though she thought this with a bit of jealousy, she still promised, much to the relief of the king.
It would be a while later that the elder council held a meeting with the royal family and a few trusted guards and servants, to tell them of this prophecy that involved the young princess.
"On the night of the full moon, when it's at its highest peak and at its brightest, a child will be born. This child will hold tremendous power, equal to that of the goddess herself, along with the Hero of Legend and Princess of Destiny, this child will defeat the evil of this world once and for all. But if this child were to fall into evil hands, then the world as we know it will be cast into darkness, forever."
The eldest of the council declared.
From that moment on, the little princess would be hidden within a secluded section of the palace, where only the royal family, 2 of their most trusted guards, and a few maids were allowed to go.
::END FLASHBACK::
Now, 5 years later, Prince Lucian is sitting beside his little sisters bed with a book in hand, watching as she bounces on her knees in excitement with the thoughts of her being as cool as their ancestors when she grows up.
"OK, Lilly. It's bedtime." He says as he stands up and pulls the covers back for her, earning him a pout from his little sister as she nods and climbs under the covers.
Once she's settled in, Lucian tucks her in and places a soft kiss to her forehead as she yawns.
"Goodnight, Lilly. Sweetest dreams." He whispers as he stands and heads toward the door.
"Goodnight big bwother." She mumbles sleepily before drifting off.
Lucian smiles and looks back to his peacefully slumbering sister before leaving the room and softly shutting the door behind him.
