(Shinobi World)

Itachi and Ayumi were both now several years in the future. By now young Ayumi was now a young adult who had married the lover of her life, Koichi, and was currently raising their one year old son, Itachi. When they ran away from the sect owned by Indra, they decided to go east. It was the least populated region known and made it the perfect spot for someone who didn't want to be found.

It was quite the culture shock for Ayumi. She went from being revered and feared as the granddaughter of the legendary creator on Ninjutsu, to just an ordinary woman that was raising the best thing that could ever happen to her. No one knew who she was or what she used to do for a living in the town she was living at.

"Itachi, who's a good boy? Huh, yeah you're a good boy! Yes you are!" Ayumi said in a playful voice as the baby giggled innocently back at her. Koichi looked on at the scene with pride in his wife.

"You're so good with him. I can never get that reaction out of him, but you, he'll do anything for you. He'll be a great son in the future." Koichi noted.

"He's a great son now. And you're a great husband. Being with you was the best decision I ever made. I got my joy, my freedom, and my son out of it. Thank you." Ayumi responded lovingly.

"It sure hasn't been easy, but it has been worth it. I can't believe that there was a time when we thought he wasn't going to live long." He noted. Shortly after young Itachi's birth, he began to suffer from complications of a premature birth. The doctor who delivered him didn't think Itachi would survive, but Koichi refused to give up. He enlisted help from an outside doctor and together, they were able to ensure that Itachi lived.

Now, over a year later, no one would know that Itachi went through such trials. Only the doctors and his parents knew about it. Ayumi knew that if word got back to her grandfather that she given birth to a male heir, her future would definitely be over.

"This is why you seem to think that I'm your son? Because I just happen to have the same name as your son? That's a pretty big leap." Present time Itachi noted.

"The shared name isn't why I know that you are the reincarnation of my son. It is because I know that I was owed." Ayumi responded coldly. Her vague answer intrigued Itachi. It made him start to speculate just what she was owed and who it was that owed her.

Ayumi and Koichi, who was carrying baby Itachi, had begun walking throughout their town when they noticed a bunch of old men were raising up a conniption and decided to investigate. They seemed to be complaining about a group of people that were stealing from the town.

"I'm sick and tired of those damned Uchiha scum. They think that they can do anything and get away with it. Those thugs stole our cart of food ad our earnings from the past month. We can't afford that setback. How will my kids eat?!" He complained.

Ayumi felt bad for the men and went over to talk to them. She pulled out money from her wallet and handed it to them, "I'm sorry. I hope this will cover what you lost."

They looked at the cash then her with bewilderment. That was enough money to cover the next six months of expenses. She had a modest look as she urged them to take it, "Please don't refuse on my account. Take the money and go home to your families."

"But why? You don't even know us." One of the old men questioned. Ayumi gave them a sad smile before departing with Koichi and Itachi. The mood had now become solemn as Ayumi thought about everything this could mean.

"Dear, the Uchiha Clan…wasn't that the clan your grandfather…" Koichi started as he remembered the famed clan. Ever since the lovers abandoned their homes, the Uchiha had become even more ambitious. Most assumed that it was just them being bolder, but Ayumi knew what the real reason was.

"That's the clan my father wanted to marry me off to like some harlot. When I refused I didn't just refuse an arranged marriage, I hindered their long time plans. My grandfather didn't choose them randomly. He had his eye on that group ever since I was a child, probably before I was even born. My great uncle, Asura, started a family that has grown into a considerable clan. The Senju and the Uchiha are rivals. When my father was a boy there was no worthy Uchiha women in my Grandfather's eyes, plus he thought that my father was a weakling unworthy of his power. It set him back, but when I was born and showed an aptitude to his teachings, it put his long term plans back into motion." She explained.

"So, you don't think that these are random attacks?" Koichi asked as Itachi started crying and reaching for Ayumi. She took hold of the boy and began to rock him to sleep, "No, these aren't random attacks. They seem to know that I am in this general region based on the pattern of these attacks. It won't be long before they come here and wreak havoc. So the way I see it I only have two options; run or fight."

"We have to run! We can't risk Itachi getting hurt." Koichi urged. Ayumi looked down at her now sleeping son before handing him back to his father, "No, if we run now we'll just be running for the rest of our lives. I don't want that for us or Itachi. I will face them and kill them all."

"I thought you left that life behind when you chose to be with me?" Koichi did not like the thought of his wife searching out bloodshed.

"This isn't just affecting us anymore. Part of me leaving was me wanting to get my humanity back. It shouldn't come at the cost of others. I spent years senselessly murdering anyone I perceived as a threat just because it was my grandfather's will. It took me down a dark path that took years for me to get away from. But even now that I have stopped fighting people are still dying and suffering because of me. I have to end this if I am ever to truly have peace and be free of the darkness." She explained as she activated her Sharingan.

"If you go down this path, it won't end well. You did escape the darkness. Look at our son! He is light. You created that. You and I together. Don't let it all go for an old man who can't hurt you anymore." Her husband begged.

She kissed him before walking away. She had already made up her mind. Even if it meant going back into the darkness, Ayumi decided to confront the Uchiha Clan. The first time she was faced with a choice, she chose to run. She realized that all she did was delay this. But after having a taste of the light and what joy truly feels like, she knew that nothing would take that away from her anymore.

Or so she thought.

"This is it, my child. You are about to see how it all ended for me and how it all began for you." Ayumi warned as her younger self got armed up in preparation for an assault on the Uchiha clan. Itachi knew that something eerie was about to happen and had even prepared for it. He just didn't know if he truly wanted to see another tragedy happen.

"Just get it over with. You still haven't convinced me that any of what you say about us is true." Itachi replied.

"It is and you will be soon," Ayumi said as her younger self began her attack on the clan. They were hidden over by a nearby river that was deep into a forest. They were close enough to the town to where it wouldn't take long for them to move in should they be provoked. Ayumi was determined not to have that happen. She had her son and husband on her mind as she surveyed their clan.

'Only a handful of members. There seems to be no women and children around. Good, that means I have no reason to hold back. Now, time to-' She got cut off when a member of the clan addressed her.

"You can come out now! We know you're out there stalking us. This will not end well for you either way so you might as well just come out now." One of the clan members spoke as the other started to go on alert.

"Yeah, like I'd ever give you want you want! Fire Style! Fireball Jutsu!" She launched a fireball at the man who addressed her. Ayumi wanted to end this quickly so she could go back to her family.

"Fire Style! Fireball Jutsu!" Three of the Uchiha Clan members countered her fire attack with one of their own. Individually, Ayumi's attack would have engulfed them, but thanks to their combined might the clash ended in a draw. The entire riverside was now engulfed in smoke.

"The Uchiha knew of fire jutsu before they could even manifest the Sharingan? I can see why Indra chose them." Itachi said as he saw his clan in its infancy.

"They were alright. They're skill wasn't the reason I lost, their preparation was. They have been prepared for this meeting for far longer than I could've ever expected." Ayumi said with a glare at the scene.

"Die!" Young Ayumi activated her Red Lightning and started stabbing through clan members under the veil of the smoke. Her Sharingan gave Ayumi the advantage of being able to see through the smoke. She had just killed her fourth guy when she ducked to avoid a slash from a sword. She then used her power to break the blade from its handle and jam it right into the member's left eye, killing him instantly.

"I got her!" Ayumi turned to see a giant man standing behind her. As he got ready to smash her skull with his club she turned to look him in the eye and put him in a genjutsu. He immediately fell to the floor and died of a stress-induced heart attack.

'This is the clan my grandfather hand-picked for me. They've been nothing but weak and pathetic.' She thought as she got ready to kill another clan member.

"Enough! It's time to end this!" She yelled as she got ready for the next kill. Ayumi would have killed him if it weren't for the cries of a child that filled the air. She immediately stopped upon recognizing who that cry belonged and from the fear of what it all could mean. And she wasn't the only one who knew the cry either.

"That voice. Isn't that your son? But how?" Itachi questioned. His guess proved correct as one of the Uchiha Clan members came from out of the shadows while holding baby Itachi in his hand. Ayumi had a sad look on her face as she answered, "The genjutsu is starting to unravel itself."

Itachi didn't know what she meant by that, but he knew that it could only mean bad news. Ayumi's past self dropped the clan member she had in her hand and went for her son. Itachi's captor stopped her by drawing a blade to her son's neck. She was completely stuck thanks to the situation. Ayumi couldn't even use a genjutsu thanks to the man not looking her in the eye.

"How and why do you have my son? Release him now! If you do, I will let the rest of you live." Ayumi warned, but panic was laced in her words. Itachi meant everything to her.

"How about you turn those eyes of yours off and we'll have a discussion. There's no need to beat around the bush with empty guarantees." The Uchiha said as he held a knife to Ayumi's son. He motioned for her to hurry up and turn her eyes off, which she reluctantly did.

'Great, now I'm basically blind to any type of sneak attack. Thankfully, I was able to take out most of their men. It should only be these three creeps plus the man who's still inside the tent. And how did they get to my son in the first place. Oh no, Koichi! What must have happened to him? Calm down and stay cool. If I can get my son out of danger using my chakra mode and leave, I'll be able to salvage this debacle.' Ayumi thought as saw how her son had begun crying again.

"It'll be okay, Itachi! Momma's going to make it all okay again!" Ayumi said to try and calm her son down but it didn't work. It seemed he, along with adult Itachi, both knew that this situation only had tragedy written all over it.

"Yeah, momma is going to make it all okay. All she has to do is give us what was promised to us by her grandfather. Or she can run like before and we'll settle with you. Or just kill you and be done with it all." The man threatened as Itachi started shrieking in fear.

"Stop it! You're scaring him! What do you want and how did you even get my son?! I left him back in town and I know that none of you Uchiha knew where I was." Ayumi wanted to keep them talking until she figured a way out of this mess and to get to the bottom of this.

"Oh, we've always had our eyes on you. We just needed to know if the Sharingan would cause health complication to any potential off-springs before making a move on you. We decided to wait a year after this boy was born and observe his progress. Itachi seems to be a healthy little ankle-biter. Which means that we can now proceed with our plan of making you our concubine. You will bring forth our pathway to finally matching the pesky Senju on the battlefield." The man declared.

Itachi looked at Ayumi as she had a sad look on her face. If this played out like how he thinks it did, it would mean that this is the true origin of the Uchiha Clan. Ayumi looked to at Itachi with such sad eyes, "What happened to you hating me? You haven't even seen the climax of my story yet and you've already got the look of pity for me. Don't you still want to kill me?"

"…I'm sorry." It was all that Itachi could muster to say. The scene kept playing as young Ayumi had a look of disgust on her face. She refused to be any sort of sex slave.

"I could care less about your clan. Itachi has nothing to do with this so just give me back my son!" Ayumi demanded as her anger started to get the better of her.

Instead of cowering in fear like most men would, the clan member merely shrugged before signaling for the man in the tent to finally come out. Ayumi's face scrunched up in confusion about the sudden shift in his demeanor. He acted like he had already won.

"Ayumi, your son has everything to do with the Uchiha Clan. He marks our new beginning. After all," Just before he finished the man in the tent revealed himself to be none other than Ayumi's husband, Koichi, "He's already apart of the family."

"What do you mean by that?! Koichi, why are you here? Did they take you and our son from the town? Are the townspeople alright?" Ayumi asked as she was wrapped in confusion.

Koichi began slowly walking towards her as he started to answer, "No, they didn't kidnap me. I willingly came. If I hadn't, they would've killed our son. The town is safe too. Ayumi, I'm so sorry. I never wanted you to find out this way."

"Find out what?! What is going on? Why did you come here and bring our son into this mess? The Uchiha Clan is made of nothing but vile, evil men who are after the promise of a vile evil person in my grandfather. How could you endanger Itachi like this?" Ayumi demanded as Koichi got closer.

"I need no reminder on dangerous the Uchiha Clan is. After all," Koichi stopped just before his wife as he revealed the startling truth to her. They were embracing each other when Koichi dropped his bombshell on her, "I am a member of the Uchiha Clan."

Adult Itachi's eyes narrowed at hearing that. If that were the truth, Itachi assumed that that would mean that Ayumi's husband was in on this plan from the very beginning, "You were set up from day one."

"No, from even before that day. Like I said, my life was never truly mine. It was all just an elaborate genjutsu that not even eyes as fine as mine could see through." Ayumi responded.

"W-Wait what? I don't understand. But you surname is-" Ayumi started but was cut off when se felt something sharp puncture the back of her neck. Koichi had just plunged a syringe into her body and Ayumi immediately felt it's affect as her body began to go numb.

"I'm sorry. Everyone in the sect, even the fellow children, knew that my family was there under the special permission of your grandfather, Lord Indra. We had to hide that our true surname was Uchiha. I was given a clear and concise mission from Lord Indra long ago as a child; get you to fall for and bear a child with me. Everything, I mean everything, that happened in our past was all meant to lead up to you and I finally having a child. Now that we have, and the child has no health complications, we can move on to the breeding phase." Koichi reluctantly spoke.

"Breeding…what do you plan on doing with me?" Ayumi asked as she fell to the ground, unable to move or even utilize her chakra. It was a paralysis drug unlike she had ever felt before. The man holding her son stepped forward and began gazing down at her with leering eyes. Koichi felt nothing but shame, "The Uchiha Clan is to breed as many children as possible through you. Those children will then grow to have more children and soon the entire clan with be powered by the Sharingan."

"By breed you mean…you will…" Ayumi couldn't even speak the words from all of the fear and heartbreak in her heart, "Yes, we will keep you sedated as much as possible, but you will be our concubine. Forced to bear our children until the day you die. It was the agreement that was made between us and Lord Indra."

"Kioko would be ashamed of you, Koichi. How could you do this to me? I loved you. We have a son together." Ayumi said as she began to cry for the first time in years.

"Kioko was in on this the entire time. The whole reason she was so close to you was to provide an easy way for you to unlock your Sharingan. Lord Indra gave both of us missions; she was to unlock you Sharingan and I was to create a child with you. We both succeeded." He replied.

"Kioko was in on this? But she was my best friend. I loved her like a sister! Koichi stop, please! You're not making any sense! If Kioko is what you say she is, that would mean that all of our childhood was a lie." Ayumi couldn't handle it as her world began to unravel.

"It was all a lie. Even Kioko's death was nothing but a means to an end. That day, back when those pillagers attacked us in the forest. How do you think they knew where we were?" Koichi asked of her.

She had a look of confusion on her face before answering, "They scouted the area in search of me. I was their target."

"No, while they were in search of you, you were not the real target. The real target, all along, was my sister, Kioko Uchiha. Lord Indra came to us and told us that the time was near to produce results or our parents would suffer from our incompetence. So my sister and I decided that we had to take this to the next level. We asked Lord Indra to order assassins to take out a target. The goal was to induce enough stress to unlock your Sharingan. The target we had all decided on was my sister. No matter how you had gone about it, my sister was to die that day. Nothing you could have done would have prevented that. Kioko said her last goodbyes to our parents before we went out that day." Koichi revealed.

Ayumi couldn't believe what she had just heard, "You can't be serious. All this time…all this guilt I felt, all of it was nothing but a lie. I mourned your sister! She was my best friend!"

"Wrong, she was never your friend. Only a tool that your grandfather could use against you. After you unlocked your Sharingan and massacred the assassins and their village in less than a day, your fate was sealed. The Uchiha Clan had agreed upon the deal immediately afterwards. You even went through the trouble of murdering every other clan that had bid for your life. Lord Indra literally sent you on missions to murder people who knew the truth behind what Indra had planned for you. That sadistic bastard." The man holding a crying Itachi said.

"Our son. What are you going to do with our son," Ayumi asked. For the first time, Koichi' face turned cold as he answered, "Our son? Please don't think of him that way. Think of him as what he truly is…a guinea pig." Koichi despondently retorted.

"How dare you call our son that?! Itachi means everything to me!" Ayumi yelled back as rage began to fuel her.

"Because that is what he is. Nothing but an experiment gone right. Had he gotten sick and the experiment had failed, Itachi would have been killed and you cast aside as our deal with Lord Indra would have been cancelled." The man said.

"And what does my grandfather get out of this? I get made into a slave, you all get the Sharingan, but what does he get out of this?" She asked.

"Immortality. Well, that's enough for now. Time to round you up. Oh, and before I forget," The man stabbed Itachi in chest and instantly killed him. Ayumi shrieked from the sight as her son's lifeless body hit ground and his cries were silenced forever, "We don't need that brat anymore. We'll be sure to make more of him. Koichi, bury the boy over there somewhere."

Just then, Ayumi saw her worst nightmare. Her son's corpse was thrown into a ditch and dirt was being thrown onto him. He didn't even receive a proper burial. The baby was just put into a makeshift grave and covered in blood stained soiled. She wanted them all dead more than anything in the world.

Ayumi seethed with rage as she felt her eyes beginning to change. The three tomoe in each of eyes began to fuse together and form a pinwheel in the shape of a four pronged shuriken. Koichi and his cohorts began to step back in fear but before Ayumi could do anything, the drug had finally taken hold of her and put her into unconsciousness. But not before she delivered a grave threat to them, "I swear I will kill your clan. No, Itachi will kill your clan."

They breathed a sigh of relief after that and got ready to keep moving forward with the plan, "Make sure she is constantly sedated. If we slip up even once, it will lead to our deaths. I'll go first. Let's see if I can get her to give me a son. This is going to be fun."

Adult Itachi looked on as the men dragged Ayumi's unconscious body into the tent and did unspeakable things to her. He didn't know that it was possible, but he truly felt sorry for her about what happened, "My clan did that to you…"

"No, you don't have to feel bad for what a dead clan did. I mean you saw my promise. You did kill the Uchiha Clan. You got justice for me just like I said you would." Ayumi replied while smiling at her son.

"I still don't understand how any of this connects. Or if this is true, why have I not read about it in the clan's ancient history texts." Itachi never remembered reading about any of this during his childhood. This took things way too far if his clan were really capable of this.

"It's the same reason why your true past isn't in any current history books. The truth can be a scary and dangerous thing. But you will soon know the truth…about everything." Ayumi vaguely said as time around them started to pass.

They witnessed the utter humiliation that Ayumi was forced to endure. She was stripped of her clothing, her freedom, and even her ability to move. The Uchiha Clan members would take turns having their way with a paralyzed, broken woman who couldn't even fight back. It wasn't like she gave them any impression that she wanted to.

The only time Ayumi was given to move of her own free will was when the drug being used on her would wear off temporarily during certain intervals between doses. But even then, Ayumi wasn't able to move because she suffered from muscle atrophy because of years of not being able to use her limbs. Itachi was disgusted at how much his clan had none to her.

After years of abuse, the Uchiha Clan got their way. Ayumi wound up giving birth seven times. Six of the children survived, one of them died during child birth. Despite how Ayumi felt towards Itachi, she felt no kind of bond or connection to any of the other children. She hated them just as much as she hated their fathers. That was all Ayumi felt after ten years of this hell…hate. And from that hate, and from her cerebral patience, came her revenge.

"How did you free yourself from this situation? You're under constant surveillance and your body is weak from lack of use. Were you even still trying at that point of time? You looked to have given up." Itachi asked.

"Not given up, just waiting for my moment. Being drugged was difficult enough, but having children and being stripped of my power and chakra made escape difficult. Luckily for me, they gave me the tools of my escape during my first day of capture." Ayumi responded as Itachi saw the creation of the person he currently knows as The Masked Stranger.

One of the guards had come to give her another dose of the drug that was weakening her. Ayumi was in an interval where her movements, though still chained, were uninhibited. As the man prepared the syringe to inject Ayumi with, he began having hard time breathing as the air had gotten thinner. At first he thought nothing of it. It was only when he tried to inject Ayumi with the syringe only to have it break before contact that he started to grow weary.

"I don't know what games are being played here, but it ends now. I bet this is that coward, Koichi. Your wife belongs to us now and forever! Or did you not understand that at the last clan meeting? Come out now and maybe I'll show you mercy." He threatened.

"Mercy…that's a funny word. I'm not used to it." The man turned to see that the voice had come from the chained up Ayumi. He laughed out loud as he stalked towards her, "For a second I thought that coward had grown some courage. It's just the slave rambling on. Maybe I should get a quick session in while I'm here to remind you of your place."

"You're going to die. You're all going to die." Ayumi whispered in response. The man started laughing again at her audacity before taunting her, "I see. So tell me; how am I going to die again?"

"I'm going to impale your chest with my bare hands." The man punched her in the stomach before drawing out a knife. He held it to her neck as he used his other hand to prepare another syringe, "I see you're in need of another group session. You must have forgotten that you are only fodder. We don't even need you anymore thanks to the children you have gifted us with so there's no need to be gentle with you. I'm going to enjoy hearing you scream."

"Harmonic Convergence Jutsu!" Before the man knew it, he had a hand plunged into his chest. He followed it to see a standing Ayumi staring at him with a look of death in her eyes. She retracted her hand and pulled out his heart as he fell dead onto the floor. Chakra flowed through her after ten years and it felt as good as she remembered it did.

"That jutsu did this? Just what is that technique?" Itachi asked the current Ayumi. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Ayumi's younger self had gone from being weak and frail, to overflowing with boundless chakra. He'd only seen such chakra reserves from Jinchuriki. Itachi then saw another stunning development; Ayumi's Mangekyo Sharingan.

"The Harmonic Convergence Jutsu is a technique I acquire when I unlocked my Mangekyo Sharingan. It lies in my right eye and has the power to change everything. With it, I can transfer portions of my chakra to a different point in time. Once my chakra is sent away, it waits at that point in time until I am able to reach and summon it again. Once summoned, my chakra returns to me and depending on the amount I sent away, could lead to a wide variety of results. From me being supercharged with chakra to an explosion big enough to eradicate a fully realized Susanoo, it all depends on the amount of chakra and the amount of time I am willing to wait. There's no limit to the amount of chakra I can send away. As you saw earlier during our fight, I could even send a Susanoo away using my technique." She explained.

Itachi was astounded by the existence of such a jutsu, "But what about the Demonic Resurgence Jutsu? What's the difference between the two?"

"My Demonic Resurgence allows me to send my charka away to a certain place rather than a certain time. There it will wait until I call upon it. The only difference between the two is that Demonic Resurgence doesn't require me to wait until I am in a certain time period and, unlike with Harmonic Convergence, I cannot control it once it leaves my body. It is literally a chakra fueled force of nature." She revealed.

Her younger self started being shrouded in lightning and Itachi knew what that was. She was activating her Lightning Chakra Mode. Though he did notice it was different from what he was used to. Itachi assumed it was because of just how much chakra was being poured into it.

"During the ten years of my captivity, instead of weakly trying to escape each time the drug wore off, I'd use the time to send my chakra away to a point where I knew the defense was most lax." Ayumi revealed.

"It's why you were so submissive in the beginning. You wanted them to drop their guards by letting them think that you were broken. But how did you know to send the chakra to this point in time?" Itachi inquired.

"As you know, the Uchiha are very methodical in their practices. Always on a set time and a set schedule. After observing and learning their schedule, it made picking a time pretty easy. I just chose a time when the drug's affect would have worn off on me. Maybe I didn't need to wait the full ten years to do it, but I wanted to be sure that I wasn't being played again. Indra isn't the only long time thinker in the family." She answered.

Ayumi soon made her escape from the Uchiha stronghold. It was like a phantom had been unleashed from the underworld. Ayumi hadn't just used her Chakra Mode to increase her body's strength. She also used it to increase her brainwave function, thus allowing her to be in a peak mental state.

She soon would come across some Uchiha guards throughout the compound, but easily dispatched of them via her lightning jutsu. Ayumi severed limbs, broke bones, electrocuted some of them to a crisp, and, for those she especially grew to hate over the years, she tortured using her Sharingan before ultimately killing them.

A group had her surrounded but she smiled at how small they really were, "It's time to get justice for my son. He was just a boy and you took him from me. My boy! And now you pay with your lives!"

"Get her under control now- Wait? What is that?!" The men stood in fear as a giant golden skeleton started to form around Ayumi. She shouted as more and more chakra poured into the Susanoo which caused it to grow larger and larger. It soon grew legs and started to develop flesh. Armor came next as it still kept growing and before any of them knew it, her Susanoo had grown well over the size of several mountains. It was in its perfect form after only being used once.

"Stare into the face of your deaths." Ayumi ominously said. Their compound had been obliterated when her Susanoo kept growing. Those who weren't fortunate enough to escape were crushed to death. Ayumi started down at the leaders of the Uchiha Clan with murderous rage in her eyes.

To her surprise, the leadership started sporting a lustful smile at her creation, "So this is the future of our clan. The Senju will never be able to look down on us again! We were right to make the deal with Indra!"

Ayumi had heard enough and proceed to crush them all. Her golden Susanoo roared with rage as fire fell from the sky and blood flooded the Earth. It was a scene of a nightmare. Ayumi left her Susanoo after the carnage was over to personally murder any stragglers. She thought it a struck of luck when she ran into her husband, Koichi, and a group of children hiding out in the surrounding forest.

She figured that he had gotten the children out of the compound once they had been alerted of her escape. Ayumi even recognized the children as the spawn of the vile men who had enslaved her for all of these years. She saw the way Koichi was protecting them and thought of Itachi. Tears flowed from her eyes, but lightning formed in her hands as she got ready to massacre all of them. Just as she got ready to strike, Koichi begged for mercy.

"Yumi, please let the children go. They did nothing wrong! They can't help what clan they were born to or the circumstances surrounding their births. Killing them won't bring you peace or bring our son back." He begged.

"My son! Itachi is mine and mine alone. You gave up the right to call him yours when you let those monsters murder and toss away his body like it meant nothing it at all. You even let them drug and enslave me. You sat by for all these years as your wife was forced to give birth to the spawn of demons. It makes sense that you want to protect them, you're one of those demons, Koichi Uchiha." She lashed out.

Koichi began to worry as Ayumi's rage was so palpable that it became hard to breath. He truly had no response to her and was ready to accept his fate.

"After what I let them do to you, I don't deserve your mercy. I'm so sorry. I couldn't escape my duty to my clan and if I'm being honest, I never even tried to. I'm a coward who let these monsters do unspeakable things to my wife and murder my son. I may be breathing my last breath, but please spare these children. Unlike me, they actually are innocent and as much as it pains you, they are your children. Give them a chance to be better. You've already killed most of the Uchiha Clan. Please allow us the chance to start over and be better than before." Koichi pleaded through tears in his eyes.

Itachi watched as Koichi's words seemed to reach through to Ayumi as her Chakra Mode started to fade as her rage subsided. Itachi saw that she had tears in her eyes just as Koichi did. It made him realize one tragic truth, "You still loved him, didn't you? Even after he betrayed you and murdered your son, you never stopped loving him."

"I did. Love, true love, never dies. I truly loved him just like how I truly loved our son. Love was one of the two reasons I couldn't kill him." Older Ayumi replied.

"And what was the other reason?" Itachi asked. She had a cold look on her face as she answered him, "A promise."

"Go and raise those children to be better than their predecessors. Raise them as best you can not that it'll matter. They are born from hate and will only truly know hate. My hatred, along with the eyes of the devil, will curse this clan for all eternity. My Curse of Hatred. Your punishment will be that curse and your mercy will be your deaths." The woman said before jumping back on to her Perfect Susanoo.

She left her husband and Uchiha Children to go to her final destination in her thirst for vengeance.

It would end exactly how it all began. It didn't take long for her to reach the sect of Indra Uchiha. As she walked through the night, Ayumi noticed how quiet it became. There seemed to be almost no life in what used to be such a festive place.

She made her way over to her grandfather's compound and quickly made her way in. Inside, she found not the cunning wise leader that once headed this faction, but a decrepit old man who was so close to death that Ayumi could feel it. He was currently alone while he laid in a bed shrouded in darkness. She activated her Chidori and got ready to put the old man out of his misery.

"Wait, Ayumi? Is that you? I see you have finally come home. How's that Koichi that you ran away with?" He asked in a simple tone.

"He still breaths. The same can't be said for the rest of the Uchiha Clan. I only have one question for you; why?" She replied as calmly as she could.

"You're going to have to be more specific. Do you mean why I set things up the way I did? Or perhaps you mean why I had your son murdered. Or is it why I was determined to breed you with the Uchiha. Please, be specific on your question." He responded while looking up at the ceiling.

"Fine, what did you gain out of causing me all of that suffering? Was it worth doing it to your own granddaughter?" She asked with tears in her eyes. Itachi figured this is how Sasuke felt when he confronted him back before their fight with Kabuto. Desperate for answers.

"It was all to ensure our future. Ayumi, my granddaughter, you secured our future. Thank you. Now I can rest peacefully knowing that my will is eternal." He whispered quietly.

"I didn't want or ask for any of this! You ruined my life. Your stupid whim and illusion of eternal life ruined mines! So now I'm going to ruin your dream by killing you!" Ayumi declared as she got ready to plunge her hand through his heart.

"It doesn't matter if you kill this vessel. My spirit is what is eternal. I made a deal with my father. He wanted another chance to right the wrong he felt he committed when he ruined mine and my brother's relationship. It was supposed to be your father who was the catalyst but the fool was too weak. You, on the other hand, were the perfect conduit. Now the children that came from your loins will produce my reincarnation, just as Asura's children will produce his reincarnation."

"My father, The Sage of Six Paths, will get his second chance, and I will get my immortality. All it took was sacrificing you, your son, and your happiness. Ayumi, as cruel as it sounds and knowing every minute detail of what you went through, I'd do it all over again. That is the truth. Your life is nothing but my stepping stone. Look at how beautiful your eyes are. The Mangekyo Sharingan gets more beautiful as more hate occupies your heart. Just look at mine. Just as you hate me, I feel the very same from my brother. You'll see. We are just alike." He revealed.

She had a blank look on her face as she processed her grandfather's words. They struck deep into her heart. Itachi had no idea just how deep this story went. The same Sage that everyone on his world reveres set this horrible tragedy up for his own selfish reasons.

"I see why you hate the Sage of Six Paths. He ruined your life." Itachi acknowledged. He saw Ayumi's past self reach down and remove her grandfather's eyes from their sockets. He howled in pain as she forcible removed each one, "You will die as I suffered; alone in darkness and unable to see things for what they really are. The Uchiha Clan, and your very will, shall be wiped out. Not today, not tomorrow, but one day. Justice will come for the Uchiha Clan." She swore.

"You weak, little brat! How dare you take my precious ey-" He was silenced forever as Ayumi crushed his skull. She then transplanted his eyes into hers so that she could face her true enemy, "So you were nothing but a pawn as well. But unlike me, you could actually see the truth. But now I have your eyes. So now it is time for me to see the truth. Take me to my great grandfather."

Ayumi then found herself transported into an astral plan of existence. The portal sucked her in and she immediately felt all of the pain from the last ten years of hell leave her body. She felt more peace than she ever at any point at her life. Itachi knew exactly where she was having been there in the past.

"You're in the dimension that the Sage of Six Paths dwells within. But you're still alive. How were you able to enter his realm?" Itachi asked.

"He let me in. I am his great granddaughter after all. Besides, he knew exactly what would have happened if her had refused my request. I'd have taken away his second chance at being a good parent." Ayumi revealed.

Itachi knew what that meant. She'd have gone back and finished killing off the Uchiha Clan, even the young children she was forced to give birth to. Ayumi came to this dimension for two purposes; to hear the truth from the Sage's mouth and to get a second chance of her own.

The Sage didn't take long to reveal himself for after Ayumi took one step inside of this new dimension she found herself looking up towards the famed God that saved the Shinobi World. She didn't bow in reverence like Itachi did when he met the Sage. Instead, she glared at him in defiance as her Mangekyo Sharingan stared into his soul.

She wasted no time in getting to her point as she cut off whatever spiel he was about to spew out, "Did my son really die because you felt that you were a bad father to yours? Did you really give my grandfather the idea to do what he did to me?"

"I am sorry for what happened to you, my child. It was not my idea nor my intention to cause you pain in my quest for redemption. That was the doing of my son, Indra. But I suppose you could blame me for that. My son was only like that because of my failure as his father. Young Itachi did not have to die." The Sage answered.

"I see. So it was all because of you. That makes this easy," She summoned her skeletal Susanoo and had it stab the Sage right in his stomach with its astral blade. The Sage made no attempt to move or block the attack. He merely took it and gave his great granddaughter such a look of sadness.

"I have failed you. The hatred and malice in my son's heart was put there by me. And now the hatred and malice in your heart has been put there by me as well. A cycle of hatred that was created by me and now it will spread even further in time with the Uchiha Clan. My son's spirit will reincarnate after each life cycle until his spirit is finally able to reconcile with his brother. But that cannot make up what has been done with you." He replied sadly.

Ayumi felt the weight of his words and called off her Susanoo. It faded away into a golden light as she glared at her great grandfather, "I am owed. You're this great mythical being that can do anything, even bring loved ones back from the dead, right? Bing my child back. Do that and I will forgive everything that has happened to me and I will allow you to get your second chance. Don't and I will take it away from you by murdering the Uchiha and Senju Clans."

"It is…not within my power to bring someone back from the dead after so much time has passed. Even I have limits," The Sage replied. He could sense Ayumi beginning to get angry again. A skeletal figure began to immerge around her as she got ready to attack him again. This, though, didn't faze him at all.

"Please, allow me to finish. I cannot back your child's body as it is already too far into the afterlife, but I can reincarnate the spirit of your child into someone new. He would look and act just as your son would have and even without you raising him, the child would grow to have a deep bond with you. But is that what you truly want?" The Sage asked.

"Why wouldn't I want my son back?" Ayumi replied. She had no idea why she'd say no to that proposal. The Sage, for the first time since revealing himself to her, spoke in a tone that made her start to sweat, "Young Itachi would undoubtedly be reincarnated into the Uchiha Clan, which would mean that the same Cycle of Hatred that has invaded your heart will invade his. There will be a chance he will grow to be just as my son, Indra. Are you willing to take that chance to get him back?" He asked after warning her of the risks.

"Always. I know that Itachi will rise above the hate. He will be better than his predecessors. Itachi Uchiha will cleanse the Uchiha Clan, and my grandfather's spirit, of the cycle of hatred that you started. I know this because he is my son and my will to protect him will be with him forever." She answered with conviction.

Itachi was shocked at what he was hearing, "So…I really am the reincarnation of your son. You were telling the truth the entire time."

"Yes, I never stopped believing in you. And as you can see, the Sage of Six Paths has been the main villain the entire time. He uses and tosses aside anyone he wants as long as it serves his purpose. You were nothing but a pawn for him to use to heal the hate in his son's heart." Ayumi revealed.

"But I've never met his son before. How could I heal someone I don't know?" Itachi asked.

"You do know his son though. Just think, out of everyone you've ever met and all of the things you have seen; who does Indra remind you of the most?" She asked.

Itachi thought long and hard on that question. Despite all of the people he has met in his life, Itachi could only think of one person. Someone who would do anything for power, someone who was driven to hate is brother, someone that had a deep love of their clan, and someone that was drowning in a cycle of hatred. It pained Itachi to admit it, but he couldn't escape the painful truth.

"My brother, Sasuke, is the current reincarnation of Indra, isn't he?" Itachi asked though he already knew the answer to it.

"Very poetic. He made the reincarnation of his son and the reincarnation of my son brothers, all because he thought that you could heal the hate in his son's spirit. Even the relationship with your brother was nothing but a tool for the Sage to use. All of it, you losing your best friend, you murdering your lover and parents, even you dying by your own brother's hands, was all the design of the Sage of Six Paths. As long as he is in charge, no one is truly free." Ayumi revealed.

Itachi's face stayed unreadable as he processed everything. To learn of his true purpose, that he was nothing but a fix-up was unsettling. But he refused to believe that his relationship with his brother was artificial.

"You're wrong. The Sage didn't make me love my brother. I may have been his pawn, but Sasuke and I's relationship was the realest thing I've ever felt before and that will never be broken. We are brothers." Itachi declare much to Ayumi's surprise.

"So I take I you don't hate my great grandfather for what he did then." Ayumi replied.

Itachi shook his head, "I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about any of this, but then again, I haven't known what to feel since Carson first found me. All I know is that you need to be stopped and nothing you have shown me changes that." Itachi declared.

Ayumi nodded silently as she watched the Sage of Six Paths use his Rinnegan to reincarnate her son. He looked at her with sad eyes after it was done, "I do not know when your child will be reborn, but Itachi's spirit shall return. Though I do not know if you will even be alive long enough to witness it."

"Oh you let me worry about that. Don't ever involve yourself in my life again. I'll be going now, great grandfather." She opened a portal and started to leave.

"Where will you go? And what do you plan on doing?" The Sage asked her. She smiled before looking back at him with a sinister grin, "I'll wait for my son's return and then we will make it so that something like this never happens again. What the world truly needs is a new beginning."

With that Ayumi began walking into the portal. She heard him speak words but gave no weight into what he said, 'Just him rambling about something. Don't worry old man. I'll give you the rest you truly deserve.'

The Sage of Six paths turned to where Itachi and Ayumi were observing and spoke in their direction. They both were shocked because that meant that he knew they were there the entire time, even with decade's worth of time being in between them, "Itachi, I know that you are listening and watching. Please, do not let your mother get her way. You must save her just as you saved my son, and just as you saved your clan. After all these years, Ayumi is till shackled by chains, but even with all of my power I could not free her. Only you can."

Itachi grew more and more confused with each passing moment and truly didn't know who was right and who was wrong. Ayumi decided to show him what happened after she left. As it turns out, her Mangekyo Sharingan doesn't just let her send her chakra away, but she can also send other people's chakra away as well. The entire time she was with her great grandfather, she was taking his chakra and transporting it into a different time and place.

"So he must have known what I was doing all along if he knew that I would show you. The arrogant bastard never ceases to amaze me. Don't you see, Itachi? He wanted us to get to this point. It seems he believe this will be your best chance to change my mind. His best chance of using someone else to fix his mistake." She spoke.

"What did you do with his chakra?" Itachi asked. Ayumi pointed towards the sky, "I used it to get to the other Earth. The Sage's chakra is so strong that it breaks the barrier between dimensions once called upon. It is why he never manifested himself into the living world. I stole about three trips worth of chakra from him. Two of them were used to get to the other Earth, but I used one of them to get back to our Earth."

"And what did you got to the other Earth?" Itachi asked.

"I wound up in a fight with Doctor Fate. He must have sensed my presence and immediately confronted me. At the time, the only other member of the Justice League that was currently alive at that period of time was Martian Manhunter, but he was a nonfactor since he was still living happily on mars before his world would meet an untimely annihilation." She answered as the scene of their fight played out.

He threw spell after spell at her and her Susanoo but none managed to even whiff her. The surrounding bare plain of Earth suffered from the attacks being ushered out. It looked like thousands of people went to war, not just two complete strangers. The sorcerer was well on his way of being killed after finding himself stabbed by her Armored Susanoo. But before she could deliver the killing blow her Susanoo suddenly deteriorated in an instant and she fell from her spot in the sky on top of it.

She landed down on the ground hard and started to cough up an unnatural amount of blood. The pain was so crippling that she couldn't move. Fate saw this as an opportunity to use one last spell. Fate knew that he wasn't able to kill her, but that didn't mean that he couldn't immobilize her and strip her of her power.

"You are not from this world! You don't belong here. Since you will not leave this place, I will make it so that you become one with its people. Prist siht live fo sti rewop!" The Sorcerer said.

Ayumi waited for something to happen but after a few seconds had passed, laughed at his dud of a spell, "You can drop dead now, fool. I'm here to stay until Itachi arrives to face me, but you won't be."

It was true. Itachi could clearly see that Fate was dying. He was losing blood quickly thanks to the massive stab wound and battle injuries. Fate was even too exhausted to perform healing magic, but he wasn't too exhausted to use one last spell.

"My body is failing me and I feel death all around me. I cannot allow myself to die while this threat…lives. I will press forward. Leas ym tirips edisni ym ksam. Revemohw sraew ym ksam llahs raeb ym tirips." His body then disintegrated as his mask glowed. After the glowing stopped, it fell unto the group like any other object would. She wouldn't find out until years later that that mask hid the spirit of Doctor Fate.

"He sealed himself into his mask to avoid death so that he could continue to try and stop you. But that would mean that the Doctor Fate you fought was the original one." Itachi said while putting it all together.

"That's right. He didn't start possessing people until after his run-in from me, so it hasn't been happening for too long. I'd say only about five decades, more or less. After meeting me his vessels staring spewing nonsense about some prophecy sent by Gods, but in reality it was just his distorted memory of me first arriving. Each life cycle he went through left the sorcerer more and more divided in the head. My gift to him. And he was kind to give me a gift as well thanks to that spell he used on me." She bitterly said.

"But his last spell didn't do anything." Itachi responded, or at least he thought it didn't do anything. Ayumi, wouldn't discover until later that night what that spell truly did to her as she found that her chakra was not regenerating at all. As hard as she tried, Ayumi couldn't gather anymore chakra inside of her body and even worse, was still coughing up blood while in immense pain.

"That bastard took away my ability to generate chakra. It was gone. At that point of time I realized that the amount of chakra I had left in my body would be the last I could ever get now thanks to Fate. And believe it or not, that wasn't the even the worst of the consequences of our battle for me." Ayumi revealed as she and Itachi saw her past self suffer in pain. Itachi remembered that pain all too well.

"You have that terminal illness. The same one that I contracted from the looks of it. You were dying." Itachi realized.

"Yes, I was on a time limit while in the middle of a plan that predicated on me needing all the time I could get. Luckily, my battle with Fate didn't cause me to use a lot of chakra so I still had several tailed beasts worth of it left in my body thanks to all of the chakra I took from our world before crossing over. But I now had to employ risky long term thinking skills to make my plan work and keep a very low profile to avoid unnecessary battle. In fact, when we fought after your first run-in with Wrath, it was my first battle since Fate. Not even he was able to find me after decades of searching, not until I reveled myself after my last time crossing over into the other Earth." She explained.

"So what did you do after finding out that you were sick?" Itachi asked.

"I sought a cure. Earth medicine, even back then, was still vastly more advance then back in our world. It helped with the pain, but the disease still ate away at my body. Fortunately, I met a pair that not only shared in my view of how wretched the world was, but also wanted to go about changing things too. You know them as Vandal Savage and Klarion." She said as Itachi saw the meeting of the three. Vandal and Klarion looked the same then as they did now. It didn't take him long to guess that they were immortal.

"Of course you did," He commented. Ayumi shook her head, "Klarion had been keeping track of me ever since I first crossed worlds. He just wasn't as stupid as Fate in challenging me. Vandal told him to wait until they could ascertain my intentions. Once they were sure I was approachable, they made their pitch of a new world to me."

"And you said yes." It was more of a statement than a question.

"Yes, but I don't plan on letting them get their way. Those two idiots ruling the world would be worse than having the Sage rule it. They were just a means to an end. They got my assistance in putting together their little group and I got a sorcerer who took the edge off of Fate's spell along with an immortal whose medicine helped to greatly suppress my disease. Earth's doctors had me dying in about two years at the time, but those two were able to extend my time thanks to their help." She said as her past self looked healthier after only a year of treatment from both of them.

"Klarion isn't as strong as Fate so there's no way he could truly nullify his spell. He probably just dulled it at best. And even if the disease was treated, I know for a fact that there's no cure for it. It attacks you at a cellular level." Itachi rebutted.

"True, I was well past my prime, but that led to what I did after helping those idiots. First I sent two giant portions of chakra away thanks to my Mangekyo abilities. One portion was a perfect Susanoo that got sent into the sky and dispersed in a way that only someone with Nature Energy could sense. Second, was that I went back home in search of more time." Itachi saw her open a portal and indeed go back to their world.

"A move like that must've taken a lot out of you. That was a big risk. You basically spent wasted time to make time." Itachi was intrigued by this reveal.

He wanted to know why she chose to come back to the world that caused her so much pain. She replied by saying that it was multiple reasons. One of them was that she wanted to see if he had been reincarnated yet. If he hadn't, she was prepared to massacre the Uchiha Clan. Good thing for them that Itachi had just been created by her return. Even though Mikoto was still pregnant, Ayumi knew that the baby in her stomach would be her son's reincarnation. When Itachi asked how, she replied that a mother always knows her child.

The second reason for her return was to learn a new jutsu. A lot of time had passed since she crossed worlds and she was close to death. Itachi knew that she couldn't have had that much time left. Ayumi wanted to prolong that death for as long as she could. Luckily for her, a jutsu by the name of the Immortality Jutsu had been created by Orochimaru. She didn't like the mechanics of it because it was basically just borrowing time, not solving the issue of death.

"I made some adjustments to the Immortality Jutsu. That snake made it with a very rudimentary mindset and only wound up creating a giant bandage to a leaking soul. My version is quite more efficient and it is all thanks to my Mangekyo Sharingan that I could perform it. The body of the soul I wanted to steal wouldn't reject me because my eyes told me who was compatible with my soul and who wasn't. It saved what would have been years of wasted time searching for a good host. Do you know how many people that happened to be compatible with me?" She asked.

Itachi knew the answer to that, "None, because were created to only hold one soul, not multiple. It would always be a waste of time."

"Correct, an idiot could see that the jutsu was fundamentally flawed. Only a madman and sociopath would go on stealing bodies just for short term gain." She commented.

"I know, that's why I sealed that one lone sociopath into my Totsuka Blade for all eternity. Even though he somehow managed to escape. So what adjustments did you make to the jutsu that made you so sure it would work?" Itachi said as he saw Ayumi spying on him as a toddler from afar.

"Instead of looking for a host, I simply created one. And it was all thanks to your DNA. You remember Wrath, right?" She asked. Itachi put two and two together quickly after she mention his clone, "You took Wrath after our fight. I take it then that this younger body is his then."

"It is. It took much long term planning, but it lead to me finding a body that had no true soul in it which made it the perfect candidate for my soul to occupy. And thanks to him being a clone of you, it has the cells of the Senju and Uchiha clan in it. I no longer have to worry about aging anymore and with time a Rinnegan of my own will manifest itself." She revealed.

"You created him just to kill him? Then why unleash him on Gotham and get all of those people killed? What was the point of it all?" Itachi inquired.

"To get you to unlock your Rinnegan and make you stronger. Wrath's entire purpose was to make you push past you limits until you unlocked your Rinnegan. I'll admit, when he sealed you with your own blade it had me worried, but when you came back and took him down, I knew that I made the right choice and that the time was near to reveal myself." She answered.

"But how could you know all of it would end like it did. The Sage put the Senju Clan's cells in my body along with giving me my father's eyes to stop me from going blind again. That was all him." Itachi rebutted.

"No, everything and I mean everything that has happened to you since you woke up on the other Earth was by the design of me. The Sage only sent you the dimension. That was the extent of his help." She revealed.

"If that were true, how did you even get your hands on my father's eyes? And when did you have time to perform the necessary surgeries to get the Senju cells and my father's eyes inputted into my body? What aren't you telling me?" Itachi demanded.

"I got your father's eyes and the Senju cells when I crossed back into our home world to observe you. You can thank that slime Danzo for that. I stole both the cells and your father's eyes from his laboratory. He had so many eyes that he didn't even notice they were gone." She revealed.

She then showed Itachi the memory of her stealing the eyes and then easily killing two of his personal anbu black ops members. It led to Itachi asking why she didn't just implant the cells into her own body. She answered by saying that her body would be too weak thanks to her age and disease to accept the cells. The surgery would kill her, but even if it did work, she still wouldn't be able to generate chakra fully.

She hid in plain sight for years as an aging woman until Itachi would, much to her satisfaction, massacre the Uchiha Clan and exact justice in her eyes for the torture she went through. After that she took what she needed and used the Sage's chakra to send her back exactly one second past where she left in the other world. Ayumi got almost everything she wanted out of the trip.

She now had the means to prolong her life and knows that in the future. Her son would indeed be reincarnated. She merely needed to wait and now she had all the time in the world. Much to Itachi's chagrin, Ayumi performed the immortality on an unsuspecting young woman and took her body. Itachi sighed heavily but saw it coming.

It was the most logical choice. It gained her a younger body and one free of disease. There was one thing she could not do even with a new body and that was generating chakra. The humans on this Earth weren't designed to hold and mold chakra like how Itachi's world is. Ayumi found that out the hard way.

"Even with all of the years that had passed in my absence, nothing could change genetics. Savage and Klarion tried their best to help me compensate, but it was futile. I was in a world without chakra. Luckily for me, I was smart and had all of my chakra transferred to the body before performing the jutsu, but I had no way to use it. Or I should say conventional way of using it." She added.

"What does that mean?" Itachi asked.

"I couldn't generate or use chakra in my new body, but I could still send it away thanks to my Mangekyo. And thanks to its scouting capabilities as well, my body transfers last much longer than that fool Orochimaru's did. His would last him about three years; mine lasted me thirty. It was exactly the time I needed in order for our worlds to sync up to the point when you'd be sent over since time runs faster in our world than in the other one. So all in all, this plan took a little over 50 unadjusted, linear years to finally come into fruition." She concluded.

In the time she had waited more and more heroes had emerged to fight for justice. And in that same time span, more and more villains had risen to challenge them. All with Ayumi, Savage, and Klarion recruiting villains to their cause in the form of The Light. Ayumi, now in her early twenties, tried as best she could to condition her new body to be able to use chakra in the form of traditional jutsu. She had the chakra network of her original body, along with her eyes, moved to the new body shortly after the change.

While vastly limited in comparison to her original body, she did learn to use jutsu with this body after decades of training, though until she got a suitable body, using the Sharingan for anything but sending chakra away was forbidden. Even as she waited for Itachi to come, Ayumi never stopped sending chakra away both to the sky to power her Susanoo for when it would return to her and the Earth for just in case she needed to escape should something go wrong.

Ayumi decided to hide in plain sight by living the life of an ordinary woman as she naturally aged. It wouldn't be until her mid fifties that Itachi would finally make his entrance. Ayumi felt the sky open up and knew that it was time.

It was then revealed that Itachi wasn't first discovered by Carson like how he originally thought. The first person to really come in contact with him in this world was really Ayumi as The Masked Stranger.

"You…you really did get to me first…" Itachi realized. Ayumi showed her taking his body away and then performing the surgery on it herself. She implanted the Senju cells, which cured his disease thanks to it increasing his cells healing ability, and his father's eyes which took away any threat of blindness.

"I made it so that no one could ever hurt you, I fixed you, and I, even after half a century, still loved you from the bottom of my heart." Itachi saw Ayumi clutch onto his body after the surgery and cry tears of joy as she smiled over her son.

"My first thoughts upon finding you were of how beautiful a man you had become. I was determined to give you the life you deserve. It also led to me doing the one thing I hated my grandfather for doing; manipulating love." Ayumi hesitantly revealed.

Itachi remembered what was done to Ayumi and didn't want to think about what that could mean. Ayumi took his deathly silence as confirmation to continue, "I…used mind manipulation on Carson to…make her think she loves and trust you."

Itachi began to look physically upset at hearing that, "I've seen her multiple times with my Sharingan and have never picked up on any trace of genjutsu. Leave her out of this."

"She was involved in this the moment she was born. We…had Black Mask go after her mother for a reason. She doesn't realize this, but while she was with Black Mask's gang, we had her undergo several mind manipulation sessions under a subsidiary of ours, Cadmus. After years of testing we were able to convince her to trust and fall in love with you no matter what. She didn't even know who you were but subconsciously, you were her entire world. How else do you explain a single, ordinary girl living in a two bedroom apartment allowing a complete stranger she had just met to stay with her or how she wasn't as surprised or scared as she should have been as she kept discovering more and more about you. Every feeling she has for you was manufactured by me." Ayumi revealed.

"That's not true…it can't be…" Itachi was close to being enraged. He was shown all of the experiments that was conducted on Carson all those years ago all because of him. The experiments caused her pain as she tried to resist their control. Eventually, she would succumb to them and being to fall for a man she didn't even know. And she didn't know that he was the true cause of her greatest pain.

"If you still don't believe me, try to kill her when you next see her and see what happens next. It won't be the natural response that you'd expect. It will be a response that was preprogrammed into her." Ayumi revealed.

Itachi saw himself be placed into the alley where Carson would eventually discover him. He then saw Carson be sent towards the direction of the alley by one of Black Masks men, crystallizing that this has all been manipulated by Ayumi from the very beginning.

(Present World)

"Enough!" Itachi dispelled the genjutsu of Ayumi's memories and was returned to the current time. The curse mark radiated throughout his body as he tried to attack Ayumi for what she did to Carson, "What is all of this for?"

"It was for my grand plan; Project New Beginning. I will combine my power to send chakra to ay point in time with your power to revert back time to make it so that The Sage of Six Paths can never destroy lives again. You, my son, will take the world and one other to a time before even life itself existed and you will use the Rinnegan to make life just as peaceful as it was meant to be. And thanks to the interdimensional portal we took from the Justice League in combination with my powers as well, when this reset happens, every universe will be affected, including our home universe. You will be the ruler of all life itself. You will be the new Sage of Six Paths." Ayumi said as she revealed her master plan.

"You really think that I would go through with such a foolish plan. I'd literally be killing countless amounts of life. And then to expect me to be the last living thing left along with you makes you certifiable." Itachi replied.

"I never said I'd be the other one. Carson will. It's the true reason she was chosen. No normal person would go through with my plan, but thanks to the mind manipulation, she will go along with the plan and be the Eve to your Adam in a sense. Not even my cohorts know that this is my master plan. I am too damaged and tainted to be with you for the reset and I must atone. The Light think they will be the ones to reset life while in reality it is you, Itachi. It has always been you." Ayumi said as she caressed his face.

Itachi was about to respond to that reveal when Ayumi suddenly got a call from as associate of hers, "What do you want, Savage?"

"That's how you greet me after getting the device you wanted, I'm hurt. I called to inform you that the Justice League is on the move. It's all over the news that they are transporting injured civilians from to a remote facility near Mexico's border. The entire League is there. I don't know what that means but do avoid it for our ultimate goals sake." Savage said as he ended the transmission.

Both Itachi and Ayumi knew that there were no injured civilians in Ayumi's attack, expect for James and Carson Collins. Itachi wished he was free so that he could go to join the rest of the League and beat Ayumi. Her curse mark severely crippled those notions, though she did shock him with her next words.

"We're leaving towards that facility. I can make it there faster than they can with my Susanoo and chakra being at full power again. Carson is, without a doubt, one of the civilians being transported. I will fight the League and take her back to base with you and me. Then you will initiate Project New Beginning and save the world as you were supposed to." Ayumi said as she called upon her perfect Susanoo to transport them.

"I'd never go along with that plan. Even if I did, we both know it's a trap. A blind man could see that." Itachi commented.

"I'm counting on it being a trap. They think they are luring me into an ambush against them, but in reality it will be me massacring them and taking the girl back. I will kill several hundred superpowered birds with one golden stone. You can even have front row seats to their demise. Look on the bright side. You will soon be reunited with the one you love the most. And she will be the one to convince of the reset." They flew away to the location of the final battle as Itachi was left bound up. All Itachi could do was ponder on what Ayumi meant by her last statement and how he could get out of this.

In the end, Itachi knew that escape was futile. His only hope was trusting in his friends.

(The Shinobi World)

It didn't take long for things to heat up between Sasuke, Artemis, and M'gann. The blond archer was furious that the Uchiha survivor attacked them. She thought that it was rude and clearly a sign that he was similar to Itachi in looks alone. M'gann was just surprised at their stroke of luck of finding Sasuke so fast.

"We mean you no harm. We were sent here to look for help for one of our friends." M'gann started.

'One has green skin while the other is dressed in clothes I've never seen before. I don't sense any ill intent, but trusting them still might not be wise. They know about my brother despite being as young as they are and I want to know how.' He thought.

Sasuke noted their appearance and knew that they were from a strange land. He could also tell that they were not from the infamous Otsutsuki Clan that he had been tracking for all this time which made him relax a little. M'gann immediately picked up on it.

"Hey! He's starting to not think we are a threat. I think that this might actually work out." She said excitedly.

"Yeah, tell that to my laundry bill after turning in my torn up uniform thanks to him." Artemis countered.

They heard him speak again and like last time, were unable to understand what he was saying. M'gann used her powers to read his mind, "He asking us how we know his brother again. I think he might get hostile if we don't answer him."

"Problem is that one; he probably won't believe a word we say. Two; we're not supposed to know about Itachi so any information we divulge is like omega level secret and could get us detained. And three; HE CAN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD WE SAY!" She yelled angrily for being put in this situation.

Sasuke drew his sword and got ready to lunge forwards. The girls got nervous, "I can't believe we got sent here just to die by our friend's kid brother-who-happens-to-be-a-hot-adult. He's five feet in front of us but seems worlds apart."

M'gann got an idea from Artemis' scared venting, "Artemis, you're a genius!"

"I am?" The archer replied.

"Yes, we're worlds apart when we don't have to be. I'll close the distance." M'gann said as Sasuke lunged forward. Just before he got to them M'gann was able to send the three of them into a mental plain of existence inside of her mind. There, they'd all be able to speak and understand each other.

"Where am I? Is this a genjutsu? It can't be. My eyes would be able to tell. Maybe it's the green one's kekkei genkai. You, green one with the glowing eyes, what did you do?" Sasuke said only this time the girls understood him.

"I got what he was saying? M'gann, you did it. I can finally understand him! Which means he can understand us…which means I can tell him off for messing up my uniform!" Artemis said as she got ready to unleash an ear-lashing on Sasuke.

M'gann held her back for both of their sakes, "Maybe that isn't the best idea. Let's just talk first. You're Sasuke Uchiha, right? I'm M'gann and this is Artemis. I know this may be hard to believe but we are friends of your brother, Itachi."

Sasuke's eyes glared at them as he finally understood something they said. It's just too bad for them that he didn't like what they had to say at all, "I don't know who put you kids up to playing this prank, but it ends now. My brother has been dead for over thirteen years. He lived a hard life. Let him rest in peace without having his name being made into a prank."

"But this isn't a prank. We're not from your world. I mean-we are but not this world specifically. Okay, I know that didn't make sense, but please you have to believe us. Itachi is alive and needs your help now." Artemis begged.

The air around Sasuke got cold as a purple, demonic looking figure began to form behind Sasuke. Waves of killer intent could be felt coming from the man, "I saw him die myself. You dare look me in the eye and tell me he's not."

"I do. And unless you really want him to be dead, you need to help us." Artemis said defiantly. Sasuke walked up to them slowly. With each step it felt like gravity was getting heavier and heavier. Before long, the man was right before the girls glaring right at them. They prepared to be killed but to their surprise, the figure around Sasuke vanished and his face became unreadable like Itachi's usually is.

"Fine, what proof do you have?" Sasuke asked simply. Artemis and M'gann each had a look of confusion on their faces. Artemis was the first to recover, "You're gonna have to run that by us again."

"I asked what proof you had that what you say is true. Your clothing and her skin are dead giveaways that you are not from here, along with your foreign language. Your body and eye movements aren't nervous like someone who is lying and even in the face of death you still thought to ask me to help him. I think you're being honest with me but that could be this strange world influencing me to think that. So tell me something that you'd only know by truly being friends with my brother." Sasuke said as he challenged the girls.

M'gann drew a blank on what to say that would be convincing enough, but Artemis knew right away, "Itachi's last moments! Back when you and he defeated that Kabuto creep. As Itachi was fading back into the afterlife he showed you the truth about him so that you wouldn't have to speculate anymore. He then admitted to his failure for not putting more trust in you as a child and told you that you don't have to forgive. Then as he took his dying breath, Itachi told you that no matter what you choose to become that he would always love you."

M'gann smiled at that memory as Artemis looked at Sasuke with warm eyes. He had a shocked look on his face after hearing her words, "I never told anyone that. Not even my wife and child."

"I know, but Itachi did. He did it because he didn't want to keep secrets anymore. Please, believe us." She begged again.

"I believe you." Sasuke said as he sheathed his sword. He then smiled at the girls, "I never was going to hurt either of you. I just wanted to see how serious you were. You really are friends of his. But how?"

"Your Sage of Six Paths sent him to our world after he faded away in that cave. We quickly became friends and now we have to save him from someone who managed to kidnap him. Someone from this world that has invaded our world and gotten our people killed. We need your help." Artemis answered.

"Very well. Your explanation will have to do for now. If what you say about Itachi is true, then we must hurry," Sasuke wasted no time in using his Rinnegan open a portal. He could have escaped from this world from the very beginning but thought it best to test the girls out. He was glad he did. Artemis and M'gann stared at Sasuke's Rinnegan because of how similar it looked to Itachi's, "Wow, you have the Rinnegan too! Itachi has one but in the opposite eye as you. I bet together the two of you would be unstoppable."

"Let's find out. It will take me a while to get to your world so you can fill me in on the finer details in between dimensions. I'll need your help to let me know which dimension is yours. Come! We've wasted enough time. All my life my brother had been a silent hero in the darkness as I blindly chased after him in rage. But now, as the man my brother always wanted me to be, it is my turn to save him." Sasuke declared.

The girls cheered as they had accomplished their mission in recruiting Sasuke to their side. Artemis knew that they would win with Sasuke on their side, especially if he is as powerful as Itachi is. M'gann just hoped that they get there in time to make a difference.

"You're going to love the person your brother has become, Sasuke. Itachi isn't the same person you knew while he was here." M'gann informed him.

"I felt like I never got to know the real Itachi Uchiha. After a while, he just felt like a myth for me to chase after. An enigma. But based on the friends he has in you two, I already know that my brother has changed. But one that will never change between us is that we will always look out for one another." Sasuke and the girls leapt through Sasuke's space-time jutsu and began the trip to save Itachi.

'Brother, just hang on a little while longer. I have to show you the future your sacrifice helped create. You have to see what I have seen after all, I am your eyes now.' Sasuke thought with a smile on his face.

And done! That took forever to finish. I'm back with a new chapter. We got the conclusion to Ayumi's tragic backstory and a behind the scenes look at just how far her plan goes. Poor Itachi. Finding out the woman you love doesn't really love you back must sting. As horrible as what Ayumi did, what happened to her was just as awful. We also saw Sasuke join the fray to get Itachi back. Ayumi has got something coming her way. The final fight begins next chapter. Thanks to all who still continue to read this story. The journey is almost over, or is it? Thanks for all of the favorites, follows, reviews, and PMs. I read them all and they make me so happy knowing so many people have seen this. Thanks again and till next time guys and gals!
