It was "that" phase of their relationship. Well, they were not officially dating yet but they loved spending time with each other. Stealing some moments here and there whether its just about a coffee or watching movies together. Oh yes, those "classes" for learning forensic science from her that abhijeet was taking. All of these things, just so they could spend sometime of their otherwise busy day talking, laughing and getting to know each other a little better.
It was just one of those moments again. It was 10:30 pm both of them were sitting on a rock on his favorite beach. She was doing all the talking he was just listening to her silently.
"You really have many different personalities in you don't you? " She asked him all of a sudden
"Matlab?" He asked, kind of knowing where this conversation was going.
"Matlab Lab mein alag abhijeet hota hai. Very talkative, taang khichne wala, always asking questions... bureau mein serious abhijeet talking and thinking just about the case and nothing else...aur yaha jab sirf hum dono hote ho you are suddenly very shy kam bolte ho jyada sunte ho...isme se real abhijeet konsa hai?"
He chuckled.
"Sab main hi toh hoon.But fir bhi this person sitting with you right now is the most comfortable abhijeet. Not talking much, just listening and observing" He said with a smile on his face.
"Achha? fir ye lab mein itni taang kyu khichte ho salunkhe sir ki? Pata hai...kabhi kabhi toh tumhara naam sunke hi irritate ho jaate hai woh"
"Isliye toh" He said laughing "Bohot maza aata hai mujhe unhe tang karne mein. Humesha se humara dynamic hi waisa raha hai...kabhi pyaar se baat karein wo mujhse toh khana hazam nahi hota mujhe "
She laughed at this. He continued
"Aur jabse tum aayi ho, tab se toh kuch jyada hi maza aata hai mujhe unhe tang karne mein...apne junior ki tareef sunn nahi paate...kaise insaan hai"
"Achha toh meri tareef sirf unko irritate karne ke liye hai bass" She said pouting
"Arre nahi nahi...bilkul nahi...you are a brilliant doctor yaar...jitni tareef hai sab genuine hoti hai ekdum 100%...infact...aajkal mujhe unse jyada tumhara reaction achha lagta hai"
"Mera reaction? "
"Haan...i don't know kitne logo ne kaha hoga tumko yeh aajtak...but you have such a beautiful smile...kabhi kabhi tumhari smile dekhne ke chakkar mein, salunkhe sir ka irritated face dekhna miss kar diya hai maine tumhe pata hai" He said innocently and got the exact reaction from her that makes him go crazy. She blushed so hard.
"See this exact smile is what I am talking about tarika ji" pointing at her cheeks.
"Such a flirt" she said still smiling.
"Chalo wohi sahi...but just so you know,I mean everything that I say" He said still adoring her smile.
"Good to know...and just so you know...11 bajne wale hai...aaj yahi guzarni hai kya raat?" She said checking her watch.
"I would have loved to. Agar kal subah time pe uthna nahi hota toh" He said getting up. He jumped down the rock on the sand and offered her his hand for support. She got down holding his hand. They stood really close to each other. Still holding hands.Looking deep into each other's eyes.
"Tum haath chhod sakte ho...I am okay" She said blushing.
He left her hand quickly but quite reluctantly.
"Sorry" He said sheepishly.
She smiled at his innocence.
"You are really cute" She said hugging him. He hugged her back smiling.
She left him kissing him on his cheeks and before he could react, she proceeded towards his car. Meanwhile abhijeet stood there smiling and touching his cheeks where she had just kissed.
The ride home was silent. A comfortable silence with casual eye contacts through the mirror.
After dropping her, abhijeet parked his car entered his building still with a faint smile. He waited for the lift. As the door opened two of his neighbors walked out. He smiled at them.
"Lagta hai aaj kuch jyada hi achha din beeta hai tumhara" one of them said staring at his face and they left giggling, leaving a confused abhijeet behind.
He got home, got freshened up. He had a look at himself in the mirror and immediately understood what his neighbors meant. There it was on his cheeks, a clear lipstick mark. He smiled and washed his face but to his surprise it didn't go away. He tried rubbing it harder still no effect. He didn't know what to do now. He had no choice but to call the person responsible for this mark
"Haan bolo abhijeet" she said picking up the call immediately.
"So nahi rahi thi na?" He asked hesitating to actually let her know about his little problem.
"Nahi bas ab jaa rahi hoon. kyu?"
"Uh woh...chhota sa problem hai...woh...actually..." He said not knowing how to proceed
"Kya hua? Thik ho na tum?" She asked getting worried about his tone.
"Haa thik hoon lekin wo... tumhara...i mean...wo lipstick mark abhi tak mere gaal pe hai and I can't get it out" He said closing his eyes.
She chuckled and said "Wo paani se nahi jayega... waterproof hai"
"Hein? waterproof lipstick? Toh kya ye aise hi leke ghumna padega kya har jagah?"
She laughed.
"Nahi nahi make up remover se chala jayega. Hai tumhare paas?"
"Arey yaar mere paas kaha se hoga aur ab itni raat mein kaha dhundne jaunga"
"Haan wo bhi hai...toh ab...mere paas hai...kya karna hai?"
"Ye nikalna to padega...raat mein kuch kaam aa gaya to mein aise to jaa nahi sakta... waise bhi sab mauka hi dhundte hai meri taang khichneka...ye dekh lenge toh pata nahi kya kya bolenge"
"Thik hai fir aa jao mere ghar" She said laughing.
"Well ok then alright" He said thinking chalo aur ek chance mil gaya unhe milne ka.
He reached her home in no time.She cleaned the lipstick mark with a constant blush on her face while he relished looking at her.
"Its done" she said showing him a mirror "have a look"
"Thank you tarika ji" He said with a sweet smile.
"No problem" She said still blushing.
"Waise you too have different personalities in you tarika ji"
"Achha? kaise?" she asked confused.
"Ek toh the bold tarika jisne mujhe ye mark diya...tab toh bilkul nahi sharmayi aur dusri yeh... ab jab mark hata diya toh sharmana ruk nahi raha..." He said with a flirty tone.
"Kuch bhi" she said blushing even more.
"Lekin ek request hai...agli baar agar normal lipstick ka use karo to you can save me a lot of efforts you know" He said moving closer to her "Also I don't wear any lipstick" He said kissing her cheeks ever so softly.
'Hmm Not a bad day at all...let's see...today, I got to know that a beauty product I don't care about can also be waterproof in the best way possible...going to remember that for a long time now.' He thought while driving home.
And well as we all know he did ;)
AN- Always thought it was a little weird for abhijeet to know about waterproof lipsticks so, this is how I reckon he found out about them. Let me how did you like this one in the reviews and last but not the least thank you for all the reviews I got on my previous one :)
