In a separate kingdom ruled by hedgehogs, this kingdom has face a catastrophe never expected by all, and by the peaceful denizens of the kingdom. The kingdom was under siege, buildings were falling, citizens were disappearing, save for those struggling to survive, and those still fleeing for shelter or a way out of the kingdom.
Among them, a young female fuschia hedgehog with pink hair was seen running away from clones of the ancient Mephiles the Dark, where she slid behind debris and took a breather. A clone of Mephiles was walking in the scene, and was about to detect her hiding behind the ruins, only to get interrupted with a few Royal Guards firing their laser pistols with no effect. The clones proved too powerful for the royal guards, as one backhanded one away, another knocked a guard to the ground, another turned one to dust and one got impaled by a crystal tendril to the face by another clone.
These were not ordinary clones of Mephiles the Dark. To differentiate them from their master, the clones had their purple stained hilts striped all over their bodies, and their eyes colors have been reversed.
The young hedgehog tried to run, but stumbled on a piece of dirt and upon noticing a shadow over her, she looked in horror; a giant floating crystal surrounded by a ring in the center. She had little time, as the clones turned around and started walking after her, and thus she continued to flee. But the clones were not slowpokes, they even started to run of their own paces, maybe faster than the hedgehog could run, and thus, she continued to run as fast as she could.
She continued loosing her pursuers by crawling under a pipe, in which the clones made no chase and thus one instead tries to reach out to the young woman, but to no avail, as she was temporarily safe for the moment and continued to flee. She eventually the observation telescope that she knew was owned and then walked right into it. By the time she reaches the front balcony, she witnessed in silent horror, the very city that formed the kingdom being sucked in away in assimilating purple energies emanating from the giant floating crystal, as if the latter was sucking it in without damaging the city's surroundings.
Suddenly, the clones then showed up behind her and were raising their right hands, ready to take her in, much to her terror as she turns around about to close her eyes as if she accepted her fate, but two of them were knocked out from laser blasts, from a familarily purple female hedgehog, although older.
"Mother!"
"Sonia! Come quickly."
The youngster, known as Sonia, started to come to her mother's side, who continued firing at the incoming clones, and just as they were about to close in, the door in front of them slams in the clone's faces. But it was apparent that they had merely enough time till they would break in. So they continued to the hallway rather briskly.
"Stay with me, Sonia!"
"Mother, the ship! Under City is gone! Millions of people-!"
"That's only the beginning."
The door began to dent and break more, alerting the female hedgehogs that they were running out of time.
"Mephiles has taken in the kingdom, meaning that everything is lost. He's planning to turn this continent into his personal feeding ground."
"But your research, isn't there something you can do?"
The elder hedgehog accessed a locked door after both her and her daughter stumbled following a crash.
"That's why we're here."
Sonia looked confused and said...
"A spaceship? Is that what you were working on?"
"Your uncle, Jules, had discovered a kingdom capable of sustaining younger hedgehogs, far away from Mephiles. He's already taken Bernadette and your cousin, Sonic with him. He's also designed this for him."
Sonia looked at the spaceship with bewilderment and spoke...
"But Sonic... he's just a baby... Manic?! Is he-"
"I'm sorry Sonia. Manic gave his life for me. But what's important right now, is Sonic."
She approached Sonia and said...
"Which is why you have to protect him. Teach him our ways."
Sonia was about to cry...
"Me? Teach him? No, no, no!"
Sonia hugged her mother and spoke tearfully...
"I won't leave you! Please! Please don't make me!"
But the elder hedgehog wouldn't have it, she shook her head, pulled her daughter out, looked at her sincerely and said...
"Sonia, I can't come with you, but you'll never be alone. You belong to the Hedgehog dynasty, Sonia, warriors of hope."
The door behind them was denting, indictating that the clones were about to break in, so the elder hedgehog pushed Sonia in and said "Get in!"
Just as the ship was activating, Sonia called for her mother to join her, but it was too late. Her mother had been impaled at the back of the head and soon, Sonia herself blasted away as the ship then began to fly out of the kingdom and into the seas. She silently mourned for her mother, who died giving her a chance to live, evident when she saw another ship beside hers, revealing that to be of her baby cousin, Sonic, whom she held a hand for. And suddenly, a ring of dark energy blasts out like a ring, disrupting both ships and veering them on course as Sonia struggles to maintain hers, now separated from Sonic's.
"Sonic! No, no, please, no! Sonic!"
Thus began... INJUSTICE 2.
