Chapter 18

Eliza POV

Once I had calmed down from my screaming matching with Kozik, I found myself sitting on the roof with a bottle of whiskey. I knew that I really needed to be sober, but at that moment I just didn't care. I was still sitting in the same spot a little while later when I heard footsteps. I looked over and saw Jax walking towards me. "You okay?" He asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know." I said as he walked over and sat down beside me.

"Okay, so why don't we start with what happened last night?" Jax asked me, taking the bottle of whiskey away from me and taking a drink. "Eliza, you don't usually drink Whiskey like this… not anymore."

I let out a sigh. "The croweater that was bartending last night?" He nodded. "I found out that Kozik made her his old lady. When I found out the time frame that they'd been together, I got pissed off. He had been sleeping with both of us at the same time. So, I drank three glasses of whiskey last night."

"Okay I can understand that." Jax said. "What happened today?"

"When Lexi and I got here, Ma could tell that something was bothering me. I never could hide anything from her. So, she kept Lexi company while I went to confront him. It ended up being a screaming match between the two of us. Ope ended up having to pull me away so that I could calm down." I told him.

"And now?" He asked me.

"I really wanna punch something." I said taking the whiskey back from him.

"E, I gotta tell you something and you're not gonna like it." Jax said. I nodded. "Carlos? His brother is Tara's ex-fiancé." He told me.

Fuck. This changed the whole game. I needed to have a conversation with Tara without ending up in a jail cell. I sat and talked to Jax for a while before he headed back to the hospital to sit with Abel for his final night. He was supposed to come home today but the doctor had been busy and didn't get around to discharging him. When I was sure that he had left, I made my way downstairs. Tig, Juice and Chibs were sitting at the bar. No one else was around. I took this as my opportunity. "Hi boys." I said.

"Hey Liza." Juice said.

"What's up princess?" Tig said.

"I need a favor." I said. The three of them gave me a questionable look. "Tara should be getting home from the hospital in an hour. I need the three of you to go stake out her house. When she gets home, I need you to kidnap her and take her to the warehouse." I told them.

"Liza, do you really think this is a good idea sweetheart." Chibs said.

"I think that it's time that Tara and I have a chat." I said. "Call me when your headed to the warehouse." I said walking away from them.

This may not be the best idea and I'm sure that there's going to be quite a few people pissed off at me when they find out but I didn't care. This was something that I needed to do… for my friend, myself and my family.

I left the clubhouse and headed home. I needed to change clothes before I headed up to the warehouse. I also needed to get Lexi. She needed to hear what Tara had to say as well… and Tara needed to hear Lexi's story. When I got to the house, I noticed that Opie wasn't home. I wasn't sure where he was but at this particular moment I didn't care. Right now, the only thing that I cared about was talking to Tara and getting some information out of her. I had called Hap and he was headed down. He was going to help me get information out of her. I couldn't tell Jax about this because he was too close to Tara.

I went straight to mine and Opie's room and I grabbed two sets of clothes. One for me and one for Lexi. I quickly changed. When I walked back into the living room Lexi was sitting on the couch drinking a beer. I tossed the clothes on to the couch beside her. She looked up at me. "What are these for?" Lexi asked me.

"Put them on and meet me in the car." I said, before I turned and walked out the front door to my car. I climbed into the driver's seat of my car and waited for Lexi. While I was waiting for her, my cell rang. I looked at the caller ID and it was Chibs. I flipped my phone open and answered. "Yeah?" I said.

"We got her. We're headed to the warehouse now." Chibs said.

"Good. I'll meet you there." I told him and hung up.

A few minutes later, Lexi came out of the house and climbed in the passenger seat of the car. "E, what's going on?" She asked me.

"I'll tell you when we get there." I said, putting my car in reverse and pulling out of the driveway.

Forty-five minutes later, I'm pulling into the gravel driveway of the warehouse. "Where are we?" She asked me.

I put my car in park. I turned to face Lexi. "It's a warehouse that my Step-dad owns. I have something that I need to tell you." I said and she nodded. "Do you remember me telling you about Jax's ex… Tara?" I asked.

"Yeah, you said that the night that you guys graduated she showed up to tell Jax that she was leaving Charming, right?" She said.

I nodded. "Yeah. When she left Charming, she moved to Chicago. She went to medical school there. While she was there, she was apparently engaged to an ATF agent there. Goes by the name Josh Kohn." I told her.

"Wait… that's Carlos' brother." Lexi said.

"Yep. Anyway, I did something tonight." I said.

She knew my tone. Just like she knew me. "E, what did you do?"

"I had a couple of the guys kidnap Tara, so that I can question her." I said.

She looked around and noticed a van and a bike. "She's here?"

I nodded. "She knows things. And you need to hear what she says as well." Lexi nodded. "Come on."

As we were about to walk into the warehouse my phone started to ring. It was Jax. I silenced my phone and put it back in my pocket, ignoring the call.
