"Suzuki Iruma-kun, was it. This is going to be…interesting."

For the lack of better word. Mashirao didn't underestimate him, of course. As both of them used their own strength in exchange for their…not so bombastic Quirk. His martial arts teacher always said that 'when you managed to form a balance between utilizing your skill—Quirk or Support Items—along with determination and pure strength, then you're going to be the best person ever. Whether as a normal civilian or a hero'. Meaning, nobody should ever judge a book by its cover, really. But still. Against Shoto—who had an offensive quirk—and Mezo—with a body built like a brick shithouse—he didn't think they could win this. Not by a long shot.

And it seems Iruma knew that as well because he let out a sigh and said, silent apology clearly written on his unblemished complexion, "sorry about this, Ojiro-kun."

The martial artist shook his head then stare forward, not wanting to look at those sad, puppy eyes less he'll drown in sorrow himself. He reminded me of the neighbor's cute dog, dang. You're going to break my heart like that, "it's okay, Suzuki-kun. We can try again next week."

If All Might let them redo the test. Knowing teachers, no matter which school it was, this battle may actually be a focal point for their semi-final exam score or something.

"Hm? Oh no, I didn't mean it that way," the blue-haired teen waved his hands a bit frantically, garnering Mashirao's attention once again. Huh. Didn't mean it what way? Did he assume wrong then? Did Iruma think they have a sliver of a chance in this one-sided competition? Where it was clear Shoto will wipe them both in a single flick of a finger? Iruma answered Mashirao's inner speculation when he spoke, "what I mean is, I'm sorry I have to leave you with Shoji-kun. That guy sure has strong arms. If you're not careful, he's going to break your spine in two. Not like I think he'll do that to his own classmates. But still. Stay careful, all right."

Wha—okay, wait. Hold up. Did…did he just hear it right? Leaving him with Mezo? No. Rather than that, did Iruma just insinuate that he's going to face the cold, iceman alone, with no backup in sight—

BIIPP

BATTLE START

Mashirao was snapped out of his funk when Iruma, with a quick move that bellied his clumsiness on the first day of school, snatched his armpit, along with the nuclear bomb paper-mache, and jumped. High enough that their feet left the ground yet low enough that they didn't slam the ceiling unceremoniously. Within two seconds and no blinking involved, every single inch of the said floor and ceiling were now covered with ice.

Did Shoto just freeze the whole building?

Also, did Iruma just barely made them escape that attack?

How did he—

Oh right, Mashirao blinked in astonishment, new appreciation toward his friend's power rose up to a new level. Iruma's quirk. Evasion. In which it could evade any malicious attacks coming on his way. It may sound lame at first, compared to those quirks who could, say, shoot literal ice. But that skill of his was incredibly useful. It literally sensed an incoming strike from any direction possible.

What a precise timing too, to be able to jump at the very last second so they won't land too early and got stuck by the creeping ice anyway.

"So, here's the plan," Iruma said, holding onto the nuclear bomb like a child hugging his teddy bear (a very weird sentence to use), "I'm going to run around the building with the weapon while you stay and fight Shoji-kun off right in this room. Try to contain your area of battle within this space alone so you won't get caught by Todoroki's ice quirk."

Because he'll try to trap the blue-haired boy and snatch the victory just like what he did a couple of seconds ago. However, with the help of Iruma's quirk…

This…this may actually work—

(Besides, there wasn't a specific rule of keeping the nuclear bomb in one place anyway. So, heck yeah. Loophole~~)

Meanwhile, in the monitor room of a safe area, All Might and the rest of their classmates were left confused as they watched Iruma, carrying the bulky paper mache, ran up and down the stairs. Followed by a very irritated Shoto who shot icicle left and right.

The Villain Team won by time out.

Mashirao: "I'm surprised you could scale those stairs without breaking a sweat. No offense, but your body doesn't look like the kind who could endure that kind of workout."

Iruma: *laughing cheerily* "I may not go to the gym, but I've been abandoned at an uninhabited island and in the middle of a yakuza turf war often enough that scaling up a building is nothing more than a light jogging."

Everyone: *awkward silence*

Izuku: "You are not joking"

Iruma: "Nope~"
