"Being a hero is a dangerous job. You can even lose your life along the way."
All-Might—known as Yagi Toshinori—remembered the word he told Izuku at the beginning of their first meeting before he knew how that frail body helped his friend from the sludge villain and showed the world that he had an abundance of a heroic spirit within him. Even when he possessed One for All and become a candidate for the new Symbol of Peace, Toshinori still believed in that notion. How could he not, when he has Eraserhead and Present Mic as his work colleagues slash friends? Where they lost a friend, at a very young age too. How could he not? When he himself lost a mentor he held dear? Over something he still couldn't comprehend about. No matter how powerful you are, no matter how quick-witted you are, no matter how magnificent your quirks are, someone stronger will always be there to take you down a peg.
Unfortunately, All Might had to confront that sad truth once again when a black portal suddenly appeared.
They were in the middle of an award ceremony, where he tried to coax Katsuki to accept the reward already because, like it or not, you're the winner of this year Sports Festival but to no avail, when it happened. Toshinori thought it was the League of Villain yet again, came to enact an act of revenge toward those who disturbed their wicked plan at USJ a couple of days ago. He heard Hizashi exclaimed in shock, Shota cursed in agitation, and a bunch of Pro Heroes—be it the school staff or those who came as the viewers—readying themselves.
However, the one who came out—or stumbled, actually—of the portal wasn't Tomura or his band of crooks, but children. One with a spiky brown hair while the other had messy silver locks that fell right under his ears. They were wielding a very weird weapon. A door key and a car key? It's big as well, as taller as half of their height, in fact. Brunette looked okay if a little banged up here and there. But the Silverette. He instantly slumped to the ground the moment they stepped out of the portal, breath ragged, sweat caked his bangs. An abundance of blood pooled from his cracked head and open stomach. He even saw a bone sticking out from the side, painting a gore scene nobody was prepared for. All Might was the first to stepped down from the podium and rushed over the injured kid, followed by a concern Recovery Girl.
"What happened?" Toshinori hastily asked, while slowly moving onto Brunette's point of view as to not spook him.
"X-Xeha—" the kid muttered, taking a gulp of fresh air while his blue orbs glanced over his friends every so often. He didn't take notice of all the whispering, of the cameras recording everything. He just kept his sight toward Silverette at all cost, shoulders shook ever so slightly, "he—he ki—he killed my friends. And—and destroyed my home. We—we barely escaped but—"
Friends. Plural—no. Don't think about it, Toshinori—. As brunette's explanation stuttered (heartless, nobody, and chi-blade, were those the nickname of the villains he was forced to face?), the portal slowly yet surely disappear. Silverette wounds steadily closed as well and the number one Hero told himself that everything is going to be okay, "you're okay. Your friend is okay. Why don't we move to a more comfortable area? So you can rest for a little bit while the police—"
"SORA! LOOK OUT!
-The time felt like it slowed itself. The shrinking portal they used as an escape path considerably brightened. All Might saw a flash of a long grey hair and a deep dark coat that resembled the abyss itself. It was just that split second. And a prospect that that figure he saw may be the villain who killed a lot of innocent people were forgotten for now when a sudden light of a fast, red beam tore the air-
Silverette, who was lying on the ground before and on the receiving end of Recovery Girl's treatment, instantly sprang up. Hand outstretched in desperation and fear displayed on his already pale face.
There was the sound of tearing flesh and broken bone before—
STAB
SRASH
—blood was sprayed like a blooming flower. Silverette's voice choked as his throat was nothing but a gaping hole.
(All Might knew how harsh a world could be. And it was especially so when you chose a Pro Hero career as your main job. You'll have to sacrifice your time, your family's time. You'll have to face the fear of someone vengeful coming for your life. You'll have to face the fear of someone petty coming for your family's life. And at that moment, the remainder was heart-wrenchingly clear)
Brunette's—Sora's—mouth hung open, the portal had finally vanished. A scream—that was full of anguish and despair, it tore everyone's very being—echoed.
(Young or old, when the God of Death call for your soul, the only thing you could do was obey)

"Open your eyes, Riku. This is not funny!" All Might solemnly hang his head while his fist tightened, listening to the broken plea of a kid too innocent for this cruel, cruel world. Sora shook Riku's already-cold body, blind over the blood that had sullied his callous palms, "you promised me. You promised me that after the war is over, you're going to buy me some nice cream. We will eat it alongside Kairi, Axel, King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, under the beautiful sunset of a Twilight Town. You promised me!"
"Don't leave me…," the tear (finally) fell down. Left. Right. Left. Right. Until it turned to a waterfall of salty liquid. Those blue, bright eyes dimmed till it was drowned in sorrow and Toshinori's breath hitched—, "don't leave me. Don't leave me…"
"Please, don't leave me alone…"
