Hi everyone, welcome to ''Midpoint''.

I am excited, and I hope you guys will like it. I would appreciate any feedback I would get, as long as it is done with respect.

Warning: All my stories will have a HEA (what can I say, I am a sucker for those).

In the case of violence, I will warn you at the beginning of the chapter.

XO

C'mon, pick up, I thought as I called Rose. She was late, yet again. I swear this was becoming a habit. A nasty habit. She is lucky that she is my best friend and that I love her for the most part or I swear I would have run her over with my car twice already. I mean why-

''Stop grumbling,'' said the person of my irritation as she took a seat across mine. Her usually up to perfection blond hair was piled up in a messy bun on her head, and her uniform was a bit rumpled. I rolled my eyes. Leave it to her to make me, her best friend, wait just for a boy.

''Stop coming late,'' I replied, leaning back against my chair.

''Hello pot, meet kettle?''

''I never came late because of a boy,'' I grumbled out, still irritated.

''No, unfortunately not. Too much miss innocent in you.'' Rose said in a nonchalant voice as she picked the menu card.

''Well, there can't be two sluts in a relationship, can there?'' Okay, I was execrating, Rose had here and there a few boyfriends, but none were serious, and none made it past the first base. They went quickly as they came. But sue me! She made me wait for one freaking hour. I think that gives me the right to grumble a bit about it.

''Ah babe, if only you would cross to the dark side too. Trust me; nothing beats th-''

This time I interrupted her because I knew what was going to come. It was always the same preach when it came to boys. ''Just order your damn food. We already lost some time. I still have to go back to make it to the fourth period.''

''I don't understand why you just don't switch to free period. Then you won't have to stress about going back to school on time after lunch.''

''Because I love my role as the student president.'' And she loved it too; as the head cheerleader, she could use the perks that came by having a best friend that is the student president of our school.

''Pfft,'' she only said, knowing I was right. After placing our order, we went right back to our bickering. This was us; this was how our relationship worked. For an outsider, it would look odd, as we were opposites in every fucking thing that counted. Rose, or as the rest of the population called her, Rosalie was a 5 feet 7 bombshell, with straight gold blond hair that reached just below her shoulder blades with great curves and beautiful dark grey eyes whereas I am only 5 feet 3, with long dark caramel wavy hair and light hazel eyes. She was the loud, outgoing, and social one, while I prefer the quiet and am content with just my inner circle. She was blonde to my brown, my yin to my yang.

''Bella!'' her voice brought me back. Did I mention that I had this stupid ability to be able to daydream and get lost in my thoughts anywhere and anytime? I lost the count of how many times a teacher had to shout to get my attention. Thank God, I am liked by the North High School staff faculty, or my school record would have been full of detention cards.

''Bella!'' she shouted again, with a slap on my arm followed.

''Ouch,'' I said, pulling my arm back to my chest and giving my so-called best friend a stink eye.

''First, you come an hour late for our lunch, then you abuse me. What the fuck, Rose.''

She had the nerve to roll her eyes, ''As I was saying, we should meet after school to finalize the plans for tonight.''

''I still think that we should wait a few more days,'' I said, taking a bite of my creaser salad. Oh, how I missed a good old burrito, but for a few more days, I had to stick to my healthy food plan. The junior dance competition in Seattle was just a few days away. I worked hard in the last few months; I couldn't afford anything to put me back.

''If we wait, then they would use that against us during the next game.'' I rolled my eyes. While she was right, this competition between North High School and South High School was taking a toll on me. I huffed and leaned back; my salad was forgotten. ''I know, I am just so tired.''

She patted my left hand that was next to my plate, ''I know, babe, just a few more days, and then you will be done with the competition and be back to your old routine.''

I sighed and looked at my watch, ''Shall we go? It is nearly the end of the lunch period.''

She nodded and gestured for the waiter for the check. After paying, we made our way to the front where my metallic midnight blue jeep was parked, my sweet sixteen birthday present. Thank you, mom and dad, I thought as I made my way to the driver's side.

''I fucking love this car,'' said Rosalie, closing the passenger seat door. I laughed, ''You always say that.''

''Because it is true,'' she said, caressing the dashboard with a dreamy look on her face. You would think that as a cherry red BMW owner, she would be less enthusiastic about my car. Our parents had made sure we got the vehicles of our dreams on our birthdays. My parents got it for me out of love while hers got it as a guilty present. Britney and Diego Hale were anything but parental. They were three weeks out of the month out of town socializing, while their child was left to vent for themself. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts before I started to curse the Hale's to the deepest corner of hell again.

I quickly drove through the metal gate that separated the school grounds from the outside and made my way to my assigned parking spot. After saying goodbye to Rose, I went to the Student President's room that was located on the first floor where every other club had their offices. The rest of the team was already there waiting for me. After a quick apology, I started the meeting.

.M.

The student council meeting, fifth and sixth period flew by. Before I knew it, the last bell rang. I quickly texted Rose that I was on my way to our hangout place before I made the trip to my locker to dump some stuff that I wouldn't need for tomorrow. Then I quickly was on my way to the fourth floor, where, in the corner of the left ring was an abandoned room that we had transformed into our hangout room during our first year. You could find everything there, from our little fridge to a gaming console. Everyone in school knew that we had a room like that, but nobody, even the faculty, said anything. That room was ours, the elite's hangout room.

I banged hard on the wooden door just because I could and opened the door.

''The fuck Bella, do you always need to do that.'' Said Jasper in an irritated voice. I flipped him off and kissed him on the cheek just to spite Alice, who was sitting next to him. Alice Brandon is 4 feet 9, short black-haired, and a blue-eyed girl who irritated the hell out of me. She moved to Forks a year ago from Port Angeles and has been with Jasper ever since. Alice doesn't understand that no means no and is pushy as hell. I mean Rose is too, but she knows when to stop and is my best friend, but Alice? She doesn't have a fucking clue. Shopping and Jasper is her life. Not the mention that she has this jealousy thing going on about Jasper and me? Like what the fuck? Jasper is Rosalie's cousin and one of my closest friends; basically my brother but Alice can't just understand that.

I made my way to the couch where Angela and Rose were sitting. Rosalie gave me a knowing smile about me kissing Jasper's cheek. She, too, didn't like Alice very much. Okéy didn't like Alice at all, but like me, she was civil to her because of Jasper. I leaned back on the couch and crossed my legs.

''Since Bella arrived too, let start shall we,'' Peter said, rubbing his hand together with a smirk on his face.

''So, the plan is in full force, right?'' asked Angela.

''Yes, we have to do it tonight.'' Confirmed Jasper with a serious look on his face.

I sighed, ''What time do we meet?'' I asked.

''I think it is best to meet at 9, here.'' Replied Ben.

''I'll bring the stuff, but we have to use your car, Bells.'' Said Jasper. I nodded; I had expected this.

''I can't wait to see their faces tomorrow.'' Cackled Rosalie.

''It is going to be epic.'' Said Charlotte.

''South is going down.'' Grinned Laurent.

I shook my head, despite my worry about the whole thing, I was getting excited too. South High School was our rival school. Forks is a town in the Pacific Northwest with a population of 7895. The town was founded by one of the founding fathers around 1770. Because of the river Cul-de-Sac, which goes right through the middle of the town, the folks called the Northern part the North and the Southern part the South. Original right? I thought with an eye-roll.

Since it was difficult to go to school at that time, they decided to build a school in the North part and one in the South part. And ever since there is a rivalry between the two. Of course, the fact that the Northern part grew well by the time made an impact on their relationship too. The Northern part is where the high-income people live and have everything. People are dying to invest in something in the Northern part. The Southern part, however, is in comparison with the Northern part not doing so well. While the North is known for its significant accomplishments, the South is known for its criminality.

Just outside the town, on the East side of Forks, is a Quileute tribe. They are acting most of the time as a buffer between the two parts of Forks.

Last week, the students of South High School broke into our school grounds and painted with graffiti all over. The students had to help the first period with cleaning the school. Now it was our turn to get revenge.

.M.

''I am home!'' I shouted as I opened the front door. After saying goodbye to my friends, I quickly made my way home. My home was located at the edge of the Northern part, right next to the Cul-de-Sac. My family was one of the first families, if not the first family that settled in Forks directly after it was founded. My great, great, great, great, great – grandfather William Cullen, came around 1771 to America from England after he decided that he had enough of titles and social rules. He settled in Forks and fell in love with a Quileute woman. This, as you can imagine, caused an uproar. Someone they saw beneath their feet, became the richest woman in the area. But grandpa William didn't take any note of it. After all, he came to America to live his life as he wanted and not according to rules. Grandpa and grandma lived their lives happily after.

Centuries later, Carlisle Cullen was born. He met my mother, Esme, when they were sixteen. My mom is an Italian woman who lived until her nineteenth birthday in Italy. On her sixteenth birthday, her family surprised her with a trip to America. During the journey, they had decided to backpack through the Pacific Northwest. When they were hiking one of the trails here in Forks, she fell and broke her leg. My dad was volunteering at that time in the hospital. According to him, when he saw my mom lying in the E.R., he knew that he found his other half. For three years, they stayed in touch. When she was nineteen, she came back to Forks. They had planned to attend the university together, but life got in their way. Nine months later, I was born. My mom decided to put a hold on her education. I was six years old when my mom got her degree in interior design. My dad had finished his residence ten years ago. Now, with my mom having her own successful interior design company and my dad working as one of the best neurologist surgeons in the country, they have everything set. Of course, there was some bump along the road, like my maternal grandparents nearly disowning my mom for having a child out of wedlock and my dad's crazy schedule, they still made it.

''What?'' I asked when I felt a hand on my shoulder. Looking up, I saw my mom looking at me with amusement.

She laughed, ''I asked how school was.''

I took a seat on the barstool that was in front of the enormous island. ''Same old same old,'' I mumbled, putting my head on the cold surface.

''Tired?'' asked my dad behind me, putting a hand on my head. I nodded.

''Just a few more days, baby girl,'' he said after kissing my temple.

''Yeah, I know. I am going to take a quick shower before dinner. I am meeting Rosalie later.'' I said, standing up.

''Why didn't she come with you? It has been a while since I have seen her.'' She was here just a few days ago, but who am I to remind her of this? I loved the fact that Rose could come here whenever she wanted.

I shrugged, ''Just busy, I guess.''

I quickly made my way upstairs to the third floor, where my room, dance room, and the library was located. I was so glad to have the whole floor for myself.

After a quick shower, I changed into my skinny black jeans and a black tank top. Seeing I still had some time before dinner was finished, I finished my homework. One less thing to worry about, I thought. Just when I picked up my phone to call Rose, my mom called me for dinner.

.M.

''Don't forget your curfew,'' I heard my dad say as I donned my black leather jacket and put on my low white converse. After shouting goodbye, I opened the door and made my way to my car. I grabbed my scarf from the backseat and put it around my neck. It was cold for an October night.

I started the engine and began to drive to school, where I would meet with the rest. Arriving, I saw that the rest had already come. Rose was right with 'pot meet kettle,' I thought. I don't know how I manage it, but I am always late. It doesn't matter if I leave early or not. It was always the same.

I parked the car and opened pushed a button to open the truck. Rose jumped in and hugged me, ''Are you ready?''

''Definitely,'' I replied.

''Bella, just follow me, okay?'' I heard Peter say after he finished putting the stuff we would need in my trunk. I gave him a wave and waited for him to get to his car. Jasper, Alice, Peter, and Charlotte would ride together, while Laurent, Riley, Bree, Ben, and Angela would take Riley's car.

''Let's see what you got,'' said Rose taking my iPod from its stand. After flipping for a few seconds through my list, she put it back. The Weeknd blared from my speaker.

I nodded with the music while I followed Peter through town. After crossing the bridge, I saw immediately that we were in the Southern part. Gone were the houses with big lawns, and clean and brightly lighted streets.

After a few minutes later, I stopped the car underneath a big tree, just outside the South High School. The boys began pulling the stuff out of my trunk.

''We have to walk behind the building to go to the football field. There is a hole in the fence there.'' Said Jasper. We nodded.

After the boys pulled the stuff in their arms, we began to walk. I shivered. It had gotten colder.

''I can't believe that they call this building a school.'' Said Alice in her high-pitched voice. I rolled my eyes.

''Shhh,'' hushed Rose her. I grinned.

After we found the fence with the whole, we crawled one by one through it. We quickly walked across the field and made our way to the doors that would take us to where the locker rooms were located.

''Bah!'' whispered Angela, once we made our way inside the locker rooms. She was right; the smell was terrible. Thank God I had my scarf with me. I quickly put it around my nose and mouth. I saw Rose giving me a stink eye. I shrugged, sucks to be her; she should have remembered to bring a scarf too, I thought.

The boys paid us no mind, used to being in boy locker rooms. Why are boys so gross? I thought as I followed them to the basketball court. The South had a pep rally tomorrow, which is why we choose it to do it here. The boys put the stuff in the middle of the room and struggled their jackets off.

I began helping them by filing the water balloons with the gold paint. Our school colors were blue, white and gold whereas theirs were blue, white and silver.

Angela, Alice, and Bree opened the huge crème colored blanket. This would perfectly blend in with the roof.

In an hour was everything set. It had taken us some time fasting the blanket to the roof. After putting the water balloons that were filled with paint on it, we were done.

It was going to rain gold; I thought as I began to murmur the 'it's raining men' song.

The other hearing my murmur began to join me. We quickly made our way back to the fence. Just as I Peter crawled to the other side, we heard it.

''HEY!''

''Fuck,'' whispered Jasper before shooting, ''Quick, go go.''

Ben, Bree, and Jasper quickly crawled to the other side, but I wasn't fast enough. Just as I bent, I felt a hand on my ankle, pulling me back to the ground.

Ouch, that fucking hurt, I thoughts as I fell back on the ground.

''Bella!'' I heard Rose shout behind me.

But my focus was on the face that belonged to the hand that was still holding my ankle.

I could recognize that smirk, that knows it all look everywhere—Edward fucking Masen.

Fuck. Why him? Why did it have to be him? I looked up at the dark sky and said, ''Dear God, I know you are busy and all, but now it is the perfect time for the ground to open and swallow me.''

I heard him chuckle, ''Come now, Princess, the fun has just started.''

I struggled his hand off me and stood up. Fuck, my ankle hurt. Badly. Yet, I tried to be nonchalant. I took a step closer to him. We were now eye to eye, nose to nose. Well, as we could, with me being 5 feet 3 and him 6 feet 2.

I put my hand on my hips and stared at him. Let the fun start indeed.

So, what do you guys think so far? ^^

P.S. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me.

Lots of love and hugs,
