Chapter 30

Lindsey POV

Lindsey arrived at a large gray building with no windows. The words "restricted, no unauthorized access" were printed in bold red letters on the door. Lindsey wasn't sure if opening the door would trigger an alarm but she was too annoyed with Seto to care. I swear if this is just another one of his games I'm going to lose it.

Lindsey sighed and reached out to open the door. To her surprise, the door was unlocked and no alarm sounded. She walked into the building to a large room. There were hundreds of monitors displaying all areas of Kaiba Land. Lindsey scanned the room looking for Seto.

"Excuse me Miss Walsh?" Lindsey turned to see a young girl wearing a Kaiba Land employee uniform. "Mr. Kaiba has instructed me to bring you to his office. Please follow me. " The girl turned and walked towards the end of the room and led Lindsey through a door that revealed a long hallway. "Mr. Kaiba's office is the last door on the right."

Lindsey thanked the employee and made her way to Seto's office. Lindsey did not bother to knock on his office door as she let herself in. Seto's office had a wall of monitors at the back that displayed the tournaments duels. A large desk was placed in front of the monitors that Seto sat at. Seto turned at the sound of his door opening. Seto looked surprised to see Lindsey. "I didn't think you would actually show up." He said dryly.

"I was told it was urgent." She responded in an annoyed tone. "This doesn't look so urgent to me." She motioned to the office. "If you're going to waste my time please do me a favor and save it for a rainy day. I've got better things to do."

"As much as I enjoy taking up your time," Lindsey rolled her eyes. "this is actually important." He stood up and grabbed a file off of his desk. "Come look at this." Lindsey walked over to Seto to see papers scattered. The papers looked to have computer coding and notes scribbled all over them.

Lindsey was confused. "I'm not going to read all this. Please explain what I am looking at exactly? " Seto sighed and grabbed the papers. He stacked them neatly and put them back in the file.

"Someone is messing with my tournament." Lindsey had no reaction to Seto's response.

"You made me walk across this entire park just to tell me that?" She questioned. Seto narrowed his eyes slightly. His tone became serious.

"This isn't a joke Lindsey. That little event the other day when Mokuba and Yugi were trapped inside the Kaiba dome was no mistake."

"What do you mean Seto?" She questioned. "Why would someone want to purposefully trap all those people?"

"That's what I need to figure out. Our little hacker friend has yet to make another attack and I thought for sure they would have made another one by now."

"Maybe they don't have access to a computer." Lindsey suggested. Seto's eyes widened.

"That's it!" Lindsey watched as Seto picked up his phone.

He dialed and spoke almost immediately. "Roland, run a background check on every competitor. Is that clear?" Seto hung up. Lindsey raised a brow. Seto spoke to her. "Whoever is doing this must already be here. We need to find them before they can execute whatever it is they are plotting."

"We? Seto I don't know if I have made myself clear enough, which is entirely true due to who I am as a person, but there is no we." A scowl formed on Seto's face. " You and I are done. As lovers, as friends, done. You have been nothing but toxic to me-"

"I'm gonna cut you off right there." Seto interrupted. "You wanna talk toxic, let's go ahead and get a few things out on the table. You have been a constant pain in my ass since the day you moved to Domino." Lindsey's jaw dropped and she tried to speak. Seto held up his hand. "No. It's my turn to talk. Believe it or not Lindsey, life isn't always about you and others are allowed to voice their feelings too." Lindsey pressed her lips into a tight line. She walked over to a couch in Seto's office and sat. She motioned for Seto to continue talking.

Seto crossed his arms and leaned against his desk. "I'm not going to deny that I have done terrible things to you Lindsey and I won't try to justify them but the fact that you have the nerve to call me toxic is laughable. You have mood swings like no other and they just happen to negatively impact everyone around you, yet you continue with your bullshit constantly. You countlessly manipulate people with your emotions to get what you want, specifically myself and Yugi." Lindsey's face began to fall, as she knew exactly where Seto was going with this.

Time to be a big girl. Actions have consequences and this one's gonna hurt.

Seto continued. "Do you get some sort of thrill being fought over by us?" Lindsey stared blank faced. "It's not rhetorical." Seto said dryly. "Answer the question." Lindsey shook her head no. "It sure seems that way. I am tired of the 'I'm so confused act.'" Lindsey stared blankly. "Answer this question for me. Would you have left Yugi for me had Tea not have started all that drama?"

Lindsey dropped her head and began to nervously bite her thumbnail. "I'm waiting." Seto stated. Lindsey looked back up to a serious looking Seto. She inhaled deeply.

"I don't know." She breathed. Seto did not look satisfied as he could tell she was holding back. He walked to the couch Lindsey was on and sat next her.

"This may take awhile so I might as well get comfy." He said mockingly.

"That's not fair. I never got to get to the point where I knew that answer." Lindsey defended. "It was obviously made for me when I thought Yugi cheated but I truly was thinking very carefully about that decision because yes, I realized I was in love with you too."

"Of all the people in the world to believe you chose Tea. You didn't even question it and the two of you have hated each other since you met."

Lindsey shrugged her shoulders. " I've already admitted that I was an idiot to believe her. What's your point?"

"Did you want it to be true?" He asked.

Lindsey was stunned. "NO!" She exclaimed. Lindsey paused for a second and her face settled into a scared look. Seto did not change his body language or facial expressions. He just stared.

Dishonesty isn't going to fix anything… this is never going to end until I admit things to Seto and myself. The truth will set me free… "Yes. I wanted it to be true." Lindsey turned her head to look at the wall before she could see Seto's reaction. She continued to talk. "I wasn't lying when I said I chose you. I had my mind made up." Lindsey took a deep breath as tears began to well up.

"In the days between Christmas and New Years where I needed to be alone, after I replaced my phone, I had thought about calling Yugi to question him and clear things up but I just…. Didn't…." Lindsey drew her knees up to her chin and continued to look at the wall. "The hurt I felt was real but I chose to believe it because it was easier than breaking his heart. It was easier to pin everything on Tea rather than be seen negatively by my peers for breaking up with 'the king of games." She took a deep breath.

"When did you know?" Seto questioned.

"Lili had been talking about how attracted she was to you and she made a comment about wanting you and it made me boil. I couldn't figure out why I was so irritated by her comment because I was happily taken. Then we had our talk in the courtyard, which confused me even more. You don't know this but Lyris and I had a talk about the situation and she had told me the universe was trying to tell me something. I thought hard and tried to recall past events. I did have strong feelings for Yugi, well, Yami since I met him but they got stronger when I was given my crystal ring. Now that Lyris and I are no longer connected, I don't feel the same." Seto shifted on the couch and was now facing Lindsey.

"I love him. I really do. But I don't feel like he's the one I'm supposed to be with." Lindsey's voice cracked on the last few words. Saying this out loud put everything into perspective and Lindsey knew there was no going back at this point. Seto didn't interrupt. She took a deep breath. "Christmas eve." Lindsey turned her head to make eye contact with Seto. "That's when I knew. And you knew too. You knew you won. " A single tear managed to escape Lindsey's watery eyes. Seto reached up to wipe it away but Lindsey jerked back to avoid his hand. He looked confused.

"I can't. I have been so angry with you Seto that I have done horrible things in the last 24 hours. Hurtful things." Lindsey looked away again as the tears really began to fall.

"Lindsey it's okay." Seto said reassuringly. "You can tell me."

Lindsey was beginning to cry hard at this point and her body began to tremble. Spit it out you coward. You got yourself into this mess, now you clean it up! "After the fight you and I had after the opening ceremonies, I was distraught. I had gone straight to the hotel and I ran into Yami outside his room. Then…" A tiny cry had escaped. Seto did not move as he patiently awaited Lindsey to continue. "I was upset and I just threw myself at him and he didn't stop me and we… spent the night together… for lack of better terms."

Lindsey could feel Seto stiffen beside her. "That night didn't make me feel better. I wanted to feel loved because I thought you didn't love me anymore. I did feel loved, but… it wasn't right. I used him and that's not right either." Lindsey finally worked up the courage to look at Seto again. His eyes were looking down and he looked empty. "Please say something." Lindsey urged. "You said it was your turn to talk but I feel like I've done most of it."

Seto had been stunned by such an honest disclosure from Lindsey. He had felt a closeness to her that he hadn't felt before. Seto flicked his eyes up to meet Lindsey's. "Once again you leave me with nothing to say." Lindsey turned away as more tears began to stream down her face. "I'm not angry. That never would have happened had I not tried to use you for my own personal gain." Lindsey did not respond. She put her face in between her knees and sobbed. "We used to be so honest with each other. Now you can't even look at me due to fear of hurting me. Lindsey we've both made mistakes and for what's it's worth, I'm sorry."

Lindsey raised her head back up to look at Seto. "I'm sorry too. I don't want to fight anymore. I can't fight anymore. It's destroying me."

"I agree." Seto reached out to tuck a tendril of hair behind Lindsey's ear. The gesture was oddly comforting. "Where do we go from here Lissey?"

A faint smile crept on Lindsey's face at the mention of her nickname. Lindsey thought a moment about Seto's question. It needs to be done. I need him to know I'm serious. He's right. I need to stop with the 'I'm confused' act. I know exactly what I want. I knew from the beginning someone was going to get hurt and it can't be avoided. Time to face reality.

Lindsey wiped her wet cheeks and took a deep breath. "I'm gonna tell Yami everything." Seto was shocked at Lindsey's response.

"You're going to tell him everything? Really?" Seto questioned.

"Yes. I am going to tell him everything…"

Before Seto could respond, A PA announcement interrupted him. "Ladies and Gentleman it is now time for the round D match to be announced." Roland's voice rang through Kaiba Land. "In our D match we have the calm and collected Jafar Shin up against the master of spell casters, Lindsey Walsh!" Lindsey gasped with excitement.

Wait if I win that means I could be dueling Shane! Tough luck…

"Our D match will be taking place in the Dragons Lair in 15 minutes! Good luck to all competitors!" Seto let out an irritated sigh.

Lindsey gave Seto a confused look. "Dragons Lair?"

"It's by the blue eyes coaster. I'll get you there quickly." Seto quickly got up and straightened his tie.

"Seto?" He didn't look at her. "We're going to finish this conversation." She got up to stand in front of him and look him in the eye. "And I really am going to tell Yami everything. But first I have a tournament to win." She gave a wide smile.

Seto smirked in response. "Let's get you to that duel."

Seto and Lindsey arrived in the Dragon's Lair quickly as they had been escorted by one of the parks private trams. Lindsey was in awe at the size of the Dragon's lair. It was modeled after a cave and was completely dark inside except for the colored lights dancing on the walls. There had been diamond like decorations imbedded in the wall that shined whenever the light hit it. The cave had truly embodied a dragon's loot within its cave.

"Seto this is stunning!" She ran her hand across the cave wall and was surprised that it felt like actual rock.

"Isn't it? I always thought dragons and crystals went well together, so I brought it to life." Lindsey whipped her head around to stare at Seto in surprise.

"You modeled this cave after us?" Her eyes were sparkling. He said nothing in response but the wide smile on Lindsey's face remained.

As Lindsey was gazing at the cave, her opponent Jafar Shin had come up to her. Lindsey turned to greet him. He gave a sweet smile and was very respectful.

"How unfortunate that I have to face Lindsey Walsh in the first round." Jafar had a strong Indian accent as his home country is India. Jafar was one of the most respected duelists and Lindsey had frequently seen him duel on TV.

Lindsey giggled at Jafar's statement. "Don't sell yourself so short Jafar! I've seen what you can do in a duel and I'm beyond excited to be matched up against you!"

Jafar chuckled. "Well in that case let's get this duel started!" Lindsey and Jafar shook hands and Jafar took his place on the other side of the dueling arena. Lindsey walked up to Seto.

"Are you gonna stay and watch?" As Lindsey said this a massive crowd of fans for both Lindsey and Jafar approached. Many people had signs with Lindsey's name written on it while other's wore spirit jersey's with "Walsh" written on the back.

"Looks like you've got a large enough crowd here." Lindsey rolled her eyes. "and I have work to do so I'll have to catch the next one." Seto noticed Lindsey's face fall a little. He gave her arm a reassuring squeeze then disappeared into the crowd of fans.

Thank goodness for my fans… I understand Seto has work but I was hoping at least one of my friends would be here… I wonder how Joey's duel is going…

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Lindsey turned to see one of the tournaments referee's announcing her match. "We are about to have our D match between Jafar Shin and Lindsey Walsh begin!" The crowd went crazy as Lindsey and Jafar exchanged smiles. "Duelists take your places." Lindsey walked to a red marker that signified where she was to stand during the match. Lindsey activated her duel disk and the holographic projectors shot out and booted up. "3…2…1…."

"Duel!" Lindsey and Jafar said in unison. Both players had 4,000 lifepoints to start with.

Lindsey drew. Wow… This is a kickass first hand!

"Ladies first Miss Walsh!" Jafar had a jolly smile on his face.

"Pleasure is all mine." Lindsey smirked. " I place this monster card facedown." A facedown hologram of a duel monster card appeared on the field. "Then I place these two cards face down and end my turn."

"Hmph. Playing it quite defensively are we? Well, let's see what we got here! I play Giant Scorpion of the Tundra in attack mode!" A huge blue scorpion with a frost like coating appeared on the field. Now my scorpion, reveal her facedown monster! Attack!"

The giant blue scorpion drew back its stinger and ran towards Lindsey's facedown card. As the stinger impacted with the card a pink blob with an upside down face appeared. The pink blob simply thrust the giant scorpion back to Jafar's side of the field taking no damage. Lindsey giggled.

"Ah my favorite trick! I see you've met my friend. Marshmallon. See Marshmallon has a quite adorable special ability. He cannot be destroyed in battle and if you attack him while he's face down, you automatically lose 1000 of your lifepoints." Jafar was stunned at how quickly he lost so many life points. He now stood at 3,000. The crowd erupted into cheers at Lindsey's simple but effective strategy.

Jafar let out a growl. "I play one card face down and end my turn."

Lindsey smirked and drew a card. "I play Zolga in attack mode!" A monster draped in a purple curtain appeared next to Marshmallon. "And now I'll use Zolga to attack your Giant Scorpion. Zolga began to rush towards Jafar's giant scorpion.

"Not so fast! I play my facedown card! Desert Sunlight. This card allows me to switch all monsters on my side of the field to defense mode. So I will take no damage from this attack!" Lindsey scoffed as Giant scorpion switched to defense mode. Though Zolga still destroyed it, Jafar took no damage.

"Well played, but don't forget I still have my other little friend. Marshmallow, directly attack his lifepoints!" Marshmallow playfully bounced over to Jafar's side of the field. He took a big leap and sweetly bounced on Jafar's head. Jafar took a whopping 300 points of damage, leaving him with 2700.

"Well… that was adorable…." Jafar laughed.

Seto POV

She's doing well. If she sacrifices that Zolga she'll gain an extra 2,000 lifepoints…. Lindsey always had a knack for constructing a deck that worked well with power and special abilities.

Seto had been closely watching the tournament duels on the monitor. While Lindsey's duel had started, the other matches had been announced. Match E was Vivian Wong versus Rebecca Hawkins, match F was between Abe the Monkey Man and Totani Lalos, match G was Sergei Ivanhoff and Ethan Shark and match H was Leon Wilson up against Dr. Richard Goat.

With this tournament fully underway I can now focus on who is trying to mess with me…

Seto looked at one of the monitors and noticed Zigfried Lloyd standing alone in the rose garden. He looked as if he was awaiting his opponent.

Why hasn't that match started yet….

Yugi POV

"Aww yeah! First duel of da tournament won by yours truly! Only a few more rounds till I get to kick your kiester Yug!"

Joey had just won his first duel against the mysterious Apdnarg Otum who was actually Grandpa Muto in a mask. While the rest of the gang had this figured out, Joey was never able to catch on. Grandpa had begged Kaiba to let him in the tournament just to duel Joey and see how far he came as a duelist. Joey appreciated the gesture and was happy to know his first win was well earned.

"What should we do while we wait to see who your opponent is Joey?" Tea was all smiles as Joey continued to celebrate his victory.

"Hey guys look!" Tristan stood in front of one of the Kaiba Land monitors and motioned for the gang to come over. "It's Lindsey!"

"Looks like she was paired against that Jafar guy." Duke observed.

"Yeah and she's pretty far ahead" Bakura mused.

"Well of course she is!" Mai added. "This tournament is a cake walk for her. I'm gonna go cheer her on. You guys coming?"

"Count me in!" Lyris exclaimed. Serenity followed Lyris, excited to see Lindsey duel.

"Wait guys!" Yugi started. "What about Rebecca? I may or may not have promised to watch her duel." Yugi blushed.

"Sounds like a you problem." Mai laughed. "Lets go girls." Mai, Serenity and Lyris walked off towards the Dragon's lair to watch Lindsey duel.

Aw man. Pharaoh I hope you don't mind, but I did tell Rebecca I would cheer her on.

"Lindsey will be fine. Honor your word and go cheer on Rebecca. She needs the support more than Lindsey. I'm sure we'll get to watch her in another duel."

"Yugi! Looks like Rebecca is Dueling that Vivian chick at the Blue Eyes Train Station." Duke pointed to the location of the map.

"Alright let's go!" The gang walked off towards the train station to support Rebecca and await the next round of duels.

Lindsey POV

Well…. This duel has taken quite the turn… welp….

A few turns had passed. Jafar is down to 1,000 lifepoints and Lindsey is up with 3,600. Lindsey had managed to sacrifice her Zolga and gain 2,000 points but Jafar had a few tricks of his own. Jafar now had a Kaiser Sea Snake on the field. The snake had 2500 attack points. Jafar had also equipped Horn of the Unicorn to the snake to boost it's attack and defense by 700 points. Jafar's snake totaled 3200 attack points and 1700 defense.

Lindsey had her old vindictive magician and her Alexandrite dragon on her side of the field, neither strong enough to take out Jafar's snake.

If I don't think of something soon, he's going to wipe out my lifepoints fast. I've got a good hand. I just need to draw her… Lindsey took a deep breath and almost drew when she heard several obnoxious screams coming from the crowd.

"LINDSEYYY! KICK HIS ASS!" Lindsey looked over to see Mai, Serenity and Lyris causing a scene on the sidelines. She gave an apologetic smile to Jafar who just laughed.

"You guys are so embarrassing!" Lindsey whined.

"Well the quicker you win the quicker you'll be put out of your misery!" Lyris waggled her eyebrows. Lindsey rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile.

As embarrassing as they are… I'm glad they're here…

Lindsey closed her eyes and focused on breathing for a quick minute. She put her hand on her deck and drew a card.

Please, please PLEASE!

Lindsey looked at her card and beamed. "This duel is over Jafar!" Jafar looked stunned. "I sacrifice my Alexandrite dragon and my vindictive magician to summon the ever so beautiful, Dark Magician Girl!" A monster in a blue and pink outfit appeared with a melodious smile. "And since she's now on the field, I'll play my Sage's stone Magic card which grants me the ability to special summon her partner in crime, Dark Magician!" The magician appeared on the field but instead of wearing the purple robes like Yugi's, Lindsey's magician wore black robes and had blue tinted skin.

"Hah! You may have summoned two powerful wizards in one turn, but my snake is still stronger!" Jafar taunted and laughed, mocking Lindsey.

"My turn isn't over." Jafar grew silent. "Next I'll play Book of Moon and give my Dark Magician an extra 700 attack points. Giving him a total of 3200 attack points."

"No! They'll both be destroyed!" Jafar began to sweat.

"Exactly. Dark Magician, attack his snake! Dark Magic Attack!" The Dark Magician waved his staff and soon was destroyed along with Jafar's snake.

"No! My lifepoints are wide open!"

"Not that it really matters but now that my Dark Magician is in my graveyard, my Dark Magician Girls special ability is triggered. For every Dark Magician in the graveyard she gains 300 attack points. Dark Magician Girl's attack points rose to 2300. Jafar sighed in defeat. "Now my magician, attach his lifepoints directly and end this duel!"

Dark Magician Girl waved her staff and Jafar's lifepoints fell to zero. The crowd went insane with cheers and applause. Mai, Serenity and Lyris were screaming and jumping up and down.

The referee blew his whistle and raised his hand facing Lindsey. "The winner of our D match is the magician master, Lindsey Walsh!"

Lindsey walked to Jafar as the crowd continued to roar. Jafar had a huge smile on his face. "You played a good match. That snake combo had me sweating for awhile there!"

Jafar mused. "It's a good combo for sure, but I should have know your magicians would pull through for you. They always do!" Lindsey smiled again. "I'll be cheering for you Miss Walsh!."

She and Jafar shook hands and went their separate ways. Lindsey made her way over to her girls but was stopped several times by fans for photos and autographs. Lindsey enjoyed every second of it and greeted as many fans as she could.

"Excuse me miss, but I do believe we have margaritas with our names on them ready to be drank." Lindsey turned to see Mai, Serenity and Lyris looking excited and cheerful.

"Strawberry?" Lindsey replied.

"Is there any other flavor?" Lyris giggled.

"Wait how are we going to get margs? We're only 16 and Serenity is 14?"

"There may or may not be a private pool party for tournament competitors and guests." Mai started.

"And our dear friend Lindsey Walsh may or not be friends with certain people who will let us have whatever we want." Serenity continued.

Lindsey raised a brow. "Alright, I'm game! Lead the way!"

The girls were walking towards the Kaiba Land hotel when one of the monitor's had caught Lindsey's eye. It was showing the start of Zigfried Lloyd's duel against Fortune Salim. Or so they thought it was fortune Salim.

A black hooded figure began to hobble up to the duel arena. Something seemed very off about Mr. Salim but Lindsey couldn't pin point it. Mr. Salim had begun to ascend a staircase when he had lost his footing and fell.

"No way! Guys look!" Mai, Lyris and Serenity came over and were shocked to see what was on the monitor.

"These two losers again? I thought we got rid of them last summer during battle city." Mai was not amused.

What Lindsey thought was Fortune Salim had turned out to be Weevil Underwood and Rex Raptor in disguise.

"Hey! Nice job spazz!" Rex yelled at Weevil.

"You're the spazz!" Weevil argued.

"You are!"

"Hey!" Weevil and Rex were interrupted by Lindsey's favorite little kid Mokuba. "What did you guys do with the real Fortune Salim?" Mokuba looked furious.

"Well," Weevil nervously laughed, "You might say he's tied up right now! So he asked me and Rex to fill in. Right Rex?"

"Uhhh…. That's right!" Rex replied. "He thought we would best fill his shoes."

"Yeah right! Nice try but no one can duel unless they're registered!" Mokuba had an aggressive tone.

"No fair!" Rex and Weevil whined together.

"Just let the boys duel." A voice interrupted from the other side of the dueling field. There stood Zigfried looking amused. "After all I did wear my favorite suit and I look too good just to win by forfeit." Zigfried flipped his bangs.

I'm gonna vomit….

"I can't." Mokuba explained.

"Think of your business here Mokuba. You wouldn't want to disappoint your public now would you? So let me duel these two fools."

"Who you calling a fool?" Weevil growled.

"Yeah! We're not the ones with the pink hair and wearing an outdated leisure suit, so watch who you're calling a fool, fool!" Rex and Weevil began walking towards Zigfried.

I get a weird feeling from this guy… Lindsey, Lyris, Mai and Serenity were glued to the monitor, watching the two versus one duel.

"Let's duel!" They said together in unison. Each duelist was given 4000 lifepoints. Weevil went first.

"I'll start by summoning my Pinch Hopper in attack mode." A duel monster that resembled a grasshopper appeared. " Then I'll activate this. My aerosol! It exterminates my insect, and now the real fun can begin. Once my pinch hopper is in the graveyard, it's special ability lets me summon any insect monster I want! And I chose the mightiest of them all, Insect queen! All right! Now my partner is gonna get prehistoric on you!"

Zigfried said nothing but had a small smile on his face. Weevil summoned a monster with 2200 attack points on the first turn… why is he smiling…

"And now I summon balloon lizard in attack mode!" Rex summoned an inflated lizard to the field. "Then I'll use this card, ultra evolution. Now all I have to do is sacrifice my lizard friend which allows me to summon any dinosaur I want and I choose Black Tyrano!" A giant, black and red t-rex was on the field. It had an impressive 2600 attack points. "I'd like to see you get past my Jurassic giant!"

"And even if you do you wont stand a chance against my incredible insect!' Weevil added.

"We'll see about that boys." Zigfried calmly drew a card. "It's time. My conquest has already begun to blossom. Now I shall harvest my victory with this. Ride of the Valkyrie."

Ride of the what? I've never heard of that card! The girls kept watching the duel, eager to see what Zigfried planned to do.

"Behold the most dazzling creatures in all of duel monsters and also the most dangerous!" Four females dressed in battle armor appeared riding on horses. Each girl had different colored hair and rose petals danced around the monsters.

Rex and Weevil looked panicked as the Valkyries engulfed Insect Queen and Black tyrano in a tornado of rose petals. The tornado subsided and the two duel monsters were gone.

"Uh… Weevil? Please tell me that didn't just happen."

"That didn't just happen." Weevil and Rex were shocked silent as their lifepoints plummeted to zero. Zigfried just laughed.

Rolands voice came over the loud speaker. "The winner of this match after just one turn is Zigfried Lloyd!"

Lindsey and the girl's mouths were agape. Lindsey was wide-eyed and nervous at the thought of potentially having to face this man.

"Lindsey are you okay?" Serenity noticed Lindsey looking pale.

Lindsey swallowed. "Yeah… I'm fine. Let's get to that party." Lindsey started towards the Kaiba Land hotel again and the girls reluctantly followed. Lindsey pulled out her phone and sent a message to Seto.

Did you just see that!? I'm heading to the pool party. Meet me there.

"Ladies and gentleman," Roland stood on stage at the pool party for a quick announcement. "Day one of the KC Grand Prix has concluded. The remaining duelists are as followed, Joey Wheeler, Leon Wilson, Rebecca Hawkins, Ethan Shark, Abe the Monkey Man, Paul McGregor, Lindsey Walsh and Zigfried Lloyd. The bracket has been posted and you can view who you will be dueling tomorrow at your discretion. Until then, please sit back and relax with this private party organized by our very own Seto Kaiba!" The contestants and their guests cheered for Roland and were excited for a break.

Seto had reserved the hotel pool just for tournament duelists and friends. The pool was a large resort style pool in the shape of a large circle. In the middle was a stage where a DJ played. There were several swim up bars and a lazy river leading to a waterfall. The pool had several waterslides and there were hundreds of longue chairs surrounding the area.

Lindsey lay atop a giant unicorn floatie with a strawberry margarita in her hand. She had on her simple black bikini and wore oversized sunglasses and a floppy sun hat. "Yo Walsh!" Lindsey lowered her sunglasses to see her favorite cowboy swimming up to her. Despite being in swim trunks, he still wore his cowboy hat.

"Hey Shane! How goes it?" Shane had a bud light in his hand.

"Could be better but a party is always enough to cheer me up!" Shane gave a crooked smile.

"I'm sorry that first round didn't go like you wanted. You're still a kick ass duelist!"

"Yeah I know but I would've loved to have faced you again. Just like back in the day!" Lindsey laughed.

"Maybe when this tournament is over we can duel. Just for fun!"

"I'll hold you to that! Now if you'll excuse me, I see some beautiful women that I would really love to be friends with."

"Pig!" Lindsey teased as he swam away. He began making pig noises which amused her.

Lindsey looked around at the guests. Joey, Tristan, Duke and Bakura were playing two on two volleyball in the pool. The girls were seated around with a drink in hand watching the game. Lindsey noticed Yugi was missing and spotted him next to the towel stand with a small blonde girl clutching to him. Curious, Lindsey jumped off her unicorn and made her way over to him.

"I wouldn't have won if it weren't for you cheering me on! You're the best boyfriend in the whole wide world!"

"Boyfriend? You didn't tell me you were dating Yugi. She's a little young though don't ya think?" Lindsey could tell Yugi was uncomfortable but decided to have a little fun.

"I'll have you know I am ten years old!" The girl huffed.

"You must be Rebecca Hawkins. I don't think we've got to meet yet. Lindsey Walsh." Lindsey stuck her hand out to greet Rebecca.

"Hmph. Don't act like you wanna be friends because Yugi has moved on to a real woman." Lindsey gave an amused smile. "Now I hate to cut this conversation short but it's 7pm and I must be off to bed." She gave Yugi a crushing hug. "Goodnight boyfriend! I'll see you in the morning!" She glared at Lindsey as she skipped off.

"Remind me to tell Seto to put an age limit on these parties." Lindsey Joked.

"She's not that bad once you get used to her." Yugi seemed to be relieved that she was gone. "Well congratulations on winning the first round! I heard it was a pretty awesome duel! Sorry I missed it."

"No worries! Jafar is a really good duelist so I'm really proud of my win today. I also had a pretty good crowd of cheerleaders."

"Yeah," Yugi chuckled. "Half of Kaiba Land was there."

"You know I haven't felt this good in a while. And no, I'm not talking about the strawberry margarita! While I was dueling I just felt so…. Carefree and happy. It's just not something I expected and it's… nice." She gave a soft smile.

"Well I'm glad! We all know it's been awhile since you felt happy. You've been through a lot." Yugi gave a sweet reassuring smile.

"So have you… Yugi, I truly am sorry for the way I've acted. You don't have a mean bone in your body and I take you granted. Despite what is going on between me and Yami, can we start over? Friends?"

"Friends." Lindsey pulled Yugi into a tight hug. While hugging Yugi, Lindsey noticed a brunette sitting in a lounge chair with a book and glass of wine. He was wearing blue swim trunks and Lindsey was enchanted with his body.

"Hey I'll catch you later Yug. I've got a few more people to talk to." Yugi waved and made his way over to the gang.

Lindsey walked up to Seto and sat in the chair next to him. "Are you avoiding me?" She joked.

"Well I was looking for you but I noticed you were a little busy with your ex." Her face twisted into a scowl.

"Okay, one, it was Yugi, not Yami and two, I already told you, that I made my mind up."

"So you told him everything?" Seto questioned.

Lindsey swallowed a lump in her throat. "Not yet. I promised you I would but now is hardly the time and place."

"I can agree on that." Lindsey felt relief. "Congratulations on your first round win. I was able to watch from the monitors."

"It was fun. I'm excited for tomorrow!"

Lindsey and Seto continued to small talk while the rest of the guests continued to hang out and have fun. The sun had started to set and guests slowly left the pool area to turn in for the night. Lindsey had gotten back to her room around 10pm. Though she felt at peace, Lindsey knew reality would soon catch up and it scared her.

She pulled out her phone and created a group chat with Mai, Lyris and Serenity. She sent a single word.

"Help."
