Chapter One
David Kane woke up to find himself in a chair wrapped in bandages. He saw the man from the news, Dr Shin. Shin was tinkering with David's helmet when it's eye lenses glowed red. "I wouldn't get too close there." David warned. Shin ducked as the helmet fired it's optic plasma beams. "This is Atlantean technology, right? Can you tell me how you got this?" Shin asked. "Sure. But you gotta help me find him." David said before he grabbed a knife and threw it at a newspaper. The newspaper read: Who is Aquaman?
Chapter Two
Aquaman was patrolling Atlantis when he was hit by two plasma beams. Aquaman got up and saw Black Manta. "How did you get here?" Aquaman asked as he gripped his trident. "Always asking the least interesting questions." Manta said. Manta fired his plasma beams again but Aquaman deflected them with his trident. Manta swam out of the way before he stabbed Aquaman with his electro-harpoon cable. Aquaman grabbed the cable and yanked Manta toward him. Manta blasted Aquaman's face with jet exhaust from his boot thrusters. "Not this time." Manta said. "Come on." Aquaman ripped out the cable from his body and lashed out at Manta with his trident. Manta blocked each blow with his twin steel blades before he cut Aquaman and trapped him in an electro-net. "Tides always turn it you're patient enough, fishman." Manta upped the voltage on the electro-net and Aquaman was knocked out.
Chapter Three
Aquaman woke up to find himself strapped to a chair with Manta standing over him. Then Dr Shin came in. "So, you are Aquaman." Shin said. "And you're the guy from the news, Dr Shin, right?" Aquaman said. "Yes. Now I know for certain that Atlantis is real. You will die for your crimes against humanity." Shin said. "Manta, you can do the honors." As soon as Shin left, Aquaman kicked Manta into the wall. Manta got back up and lashed out with his steel blade. Aquaman ducked before he grabbed his trident on the wall and struck Manta. Manta got back up and punched Arthur in the face before he put something on Aquaman and kicked him out the sub. Aquaman managed to get it together before he swam back to Atlantis.
Chapter Four
Back in the sub, Dr Shin and Manta watched Aquaman swimming away. "You're sure this homing beacon works?" Manta asked. "Yes." Dr Shin said. "I'm taking an awful risk. This had better work." Manta replied.
Chapter Five
Aquaman went back to the Royal Palace where he saw Mera and Vulko. "What happened?" Vulko said. "Black Manta attacked me and took me to his sub. I have to face him." "No, it's too dangerous." Vulko said. "Don't worry. I knocked out Orm, didn't I? Trust me, this guy will be easy." Aquaman said. Mera walked up to him and kissed him. "Come back to me." Mera said. Aquaman stroked her red hair. "I will." Aquaman promised before he swam out. This was going to end now.
Chapter Six
Aquaman swam to the sub where he found Dr Shin. "Why are you here?" Shin asked. "I did not attack the boats. That was my brother Orm. He wanted to attack the surface world but I stopped him already." Aquaman said. "Manta is only using you for his goal, vengeance." "How do we stop him?" Shin asked. "I'm working on it." Aquaman said.
Chapter Seven
Manta swam toward Aquaman and kicked him into the sub. Aquaman got back up, scooped up a rock with his trident, and hurled it at Manta. Manta blasted the rock with his plasma beams before he fired the plasma beams at Aquaman. Aquaman dodged before he struck Manta in the helmet. Manta hit Aquaman with a uppercut before he kicked Aquaman into some coral reefs. "Now you'll suffer like my father did." Manta growled. Then, the sub fired two torpedoes at Manta. Manta swam out of the way and hit the sub with his plasma beams. Aquaman swam toward the sub, held it, and placed it on the roof of a building in the Atlantean city. Manta fired his plasma beams again but Arthur deflected them with his trident. Manta blocked the beams with his twin steel blades before he and Aquaman dueled. They swam higher and higher as their blades clashed and sparks flew. Then Manta kicked Aquaman away before he rammed Aquaman into some Atlantean buildings. Aquaman got back up before charged at Manta. Manta and Aquaman dueled again before Manta sliced Aquaman and punched him away. Manta was about to go in for the kill when Aquaman threw his trident at Manta. It struck Manta in his suit's eye lenses and he screamed as his blast backfired. Aquaman ripped out his trident and kicked Manta down into the sea. Finally it was over. His archenemy had been defeated.
Chapter Eight
In a deep sea trench, the battle-scarred Manta swam toward an Atlantean ship he had found there. Manta was going to come back, and when he did, Aquaman would pay.
