Bakugo came back to reality and realized he needed to do something quick. He ran after Kaminari and Kirishima and grabbed them. "Hey losers, I'm not asking anyone to the party."
Kirishima turned to face Bakugo, "Hey man, why are you telling us? You should be telling Kenshutsu instead."
Kaminari caught on to what Kirishima was doing, "Yeah, you should let her know that she'll be the only girl in our class going to the party without a date. It's a cold thing to do even for you Bakugo."
Kirishima feigned surprise, "Oh wait Bakugo, don't tell me you're too scared to ask her."
Kaminari pinched his leg to prevent himself from laughing, "Aw poor little Bakugo. He doesn't want his feelings hurt."
Bakugo gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "You...are...wrong..." He stared at the floor and then slowly brought his head up to look at the two boys standing in front of him. Suddenly he exploded, "I'M NOT SCARED YOU IDIOTS! I'M GOING TO ASK HER TO THE PARTY AND SHE'S GOING TO SAY YES! I'LL SHOW YOU!" Kaminari and Kirishima laughed as they watched Bakugo storm off.
"Wow you really know how to manipulate Bakugo eh?" Kaminari grinned.
"Yeah… Anyways man," Kirishima turned to Kaminari, "What's your plan for asking Jiro?"
"You know what" Kaminari began to respond, "I thought about it, and I think for me it's best to do it right away." Kaminari put on a serious face, "I like Jiro. I like her a lot. I want to show her that fear or nerves won't get in the way of my feelings for her."
"That's so manly dude" Kirishima said as he started to tear up.
"What about you Kirishima?" Kaminari asked as a smile returned to his face.
Kirishima thought to himself, "Well… I've always looked at Mina and thought she was on another level from me, like she was out of reach. She eventually became my friend, but I never thought of her as anything more… Now, I feel like I want to know her on a deeper level. Not just as hero or classmate, but as a friend or something else…"
"I'm proud of you dude" Kaminari said with enthusiasm. "I'll be rooting for you two!"
"Good luck man! I'll be rooting for you two as well" Kirishima replied as they split off from each other.
Kaminari headed to his room and quickly scribbled a short message on a piece of paper. He then folded it up and went out of his room. I didn't see any of the girls anywhere around the dorms, so they must still be in Yaomomo's room. He came to Jiro's door and slipped the note under. Kaminari then began to make his way back to his room.
The girls had finally finished their super important, mandatory meeting about the boys, and they began splitting off from each other. "Hey Sumire," Jiro said to get Sumire's attention, "I haven't gotten the opportunity to hear you play guitar. If you're free do you want to hang out in my room before dinner?"
"Sure thing! I'd love to hear you play something too!" Sumire replied with a smile. The two girls headed off toward Jiro's room and finally came to her door. Once inside, Sumire noticed a small piece of paper on the ground and picked it up. "Hey Jiro what's this?" Sumire asked as she handed the folded paper over to Jiro.
"Hmm let me see," Jiro replied as she unfolded the paper and began to read it. Her face turned slightly pink and then back to normal as she thought of what to do. "Sorry Sumire, I have to go talk to Kaminari real quick. Um... feel free to play that guitar next to you until I get back." Jiro was still blushing slightly as she told her friend she would be right back.
I think I know why she's heading over there, but I won't pry. "No problem!" Sumire replied as she picked up the guitar.
Jiro closed the door behind her as guitar notes began playing on the other side. She made her way to Kaminari's room and stopped outside his door. She stared at the door nervously, Ugh get a hold of yourself! Sure he might ask you to the party, but he might not. Just be normal. She forced her nerves away as she knocked.
Kaminari's heart began racing as soon as he heard the knock at his door. That's definitely her. So she came. Okay just be calm, and speak from the heart. You've got this. He took a deep breath and opened the door. "Hey Jiro! I'm glad you came!"
Jiro stepped inside, "Real smooth idiot, 'come to my room as soon as you see this note (don't worry it won't be weird).' Way to make it not weird" she replied with a sarcastic tone.
"Oh come on Jiro, you know I'm not the best with words" Kaminari complained.
"I'm just teasing" she laughed.
As Jiro laughed, Kaminari's senses focused in on her. Man, she's so cute when she laughs. He stared at her, I could listen to her laugh all day...
"Hellooo? Kaminari?" Jiro snapped him out of his trance.
"Oh sorry, um did you say something?" He said as he blushed and looked away.
Jiro blushed as she realized he'd been staring at her. They both looked away from each other as they blushed.
Dammit! Just talk to her! She's your best friend. Kaminari finally summoned up the courage to say something, "Jiro" she turned to look at him and gasped as he stepped closer and peered into her eyes. "I'm just going to come clean and say it: I like you. Not just as my best friend. I like like you." Her eyes widened as she processed what he was saying. "I've liked you since we first met, and as time went on, I began liking you more and more. I love it when you laugh, and your smile is beautiful. You might feel like you're not as pretty as the other girls, but in my opinion you're the most attractive one. I have feelings for you, and it might be a long shot, but I'm hoping you do too."
Jiro had looked away while he was talking, but looked back at his face. "Kaminari I..."
He frowned, "Oh if you don't feel the same I..."
"NO!" Jiro grabbed his hand, WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING! "I like you too! I love how goofy you are, and it's so funny when you fry your brain. You're hilarious and caring. You always succeed at trying to make me laugh. I love everything about you. Your yellow hair and eyes, your mischievous smile, all of your crazy antics. I just can't get my mind off of you. I do… I feel the same. I.. I... I have feelings for you too." Once she had finished, she waited to see what his reaction would be.
Kaminari looked at the girl in front of him, he felt the warmth of her hand holding his, he looked at her and felt like he couldn't get enough of her. His hand moved on his own as he placed it on the back of her head. He didn't stop to think as he closed the distance between them and kissed her. He kissed her and she kissed him back. She wrapped her arms around him and closed her eyes. His soft lips felt warm and comforting, and it made her heart feel incredibly full. They finally separated but continued to hold each other close. They looked deep into each other's eyes as they tried to catch their breaths.
"That was..." Kaminari began.
"… Amazing" Jiro breathed out. She smiled sweetly at him, and he felt a strong urge to kiss her again.
"Will you uh... Would... I um... Do you want to go to the party with me as my um... date?" He asked clumsily.
She laughed again; her golden laugh. "Of course silly."
He laughed too and smiled wide. "Good. That's great."
They smiled at each other for a moment. "Oh shoot!" Jiro remembered, "I told Sumire I'd be right back. I left her alone in my room."
"Oh crap! Sorry for keeping you here!" He apologized.
"No it's my fault for forgetting" she replied. Jiro looked at Kaminari and smiled, "I'll see you at dinner."
He smiled back, "I'm looking forward to it."
She opened the door but suddenly ran back and hugged him. She waved a final goodbye before gently closing the door. He stayed where he was as she walked off. When he could no longer hear her footsteps, he finally laid down on his bed. He sighed and stared up at the ceiling with a big smile on his face. I think I'm in love...
Aww I love the KamiJirou ship, so this was really fun to write! This may not be your favorite ship, but don't worry! The next few chapters will focus on the other pairs, so just be patient. The next chapter will feature KiriMina! After that, I'm debating if I should give each pair their own chapter or if I should merge them.
