Hey guys! So this is another sweet little Playful Kiss one-shot. I am in the middle of writing my multi chapter fic for them but I decided to post this to tie you all over. This is set in the same universe as Apologies are better with Doughnuts. And I know it's a little early for a Christmas/winter story but it was my brain thought of one afternoon when the heat of summer was driving me crazy.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and as always let me know!

The snow was falling heavily as Seung Jo looked outside his office window with a long sigh. It was supposed to snow and ice for the next few days and right now the only motivation it was creating was the dream of going home. He looked at his desk with a scowl, he just needed to finish up this last bit of paperwork and then he could leave for the day. His family was away visiting his aunt and uncle in the country and Seung Jo was looking forward to having a quiet house for a few days.

"Maybe I can finish this up tomorrow." Seung Jo rubbed his eyes. "Come in a little early and just call it a night."

His phone rang and he rolled his eyes. "Or maybe not." With a tired groan, he answered it with a sharp snap. "Doctor Baek."

"Doctor Baek, it's Doctor Song. I work in pediatrics with Nurse Oh."

Seung Jo straightened slightly. "Yes?"

"Well, I'm afraid she had a little bit of a… tumble." The doctor finished with a sigh. "She's all right but fairly bruised."

"A tumble?" Seung Jo snapped as he grabbed his coat. "What kind of a tumble?"

"Apparently, someone must have forgotten to salt the steps outside the hospital. A young toddler was running from its mother and slipped on the ice. Nurse Oh dove to catch them and although she managed to stop them from falling, she went headfirst down the stairs."

Seung Jo's eyes widened. The steps outside pediatrics were steep and high. "Is she all right?"

"She has a bad knot on her head and some pretty nasty bruises but otherwise she's fine." Doctor Song let out a small sigh. "She's lucky she didn't break anything. Nurse Oh said she was fine to get home by herself but I didn't feel comfortable—"

"No." Seung Jo ordered sharply as he stalked out of surgery and down the hall to the other end of the hospital where she worked. "I will come to get her."

"I think it's best. She's moving all right now but she's going to be fairly stiff in a few hours."

Seung Jo thanked him and hurried his stride. As he rounded the corner, one of the fellow nurses who recognized him pointed to one of the rooms. He quickly pushed open the door and his eyes narrowed as he took in the tired, bruised figure of Ha Ni.

She smiled weakly, her face pale and her hair in an unusual messy bun. "I'm all right."

He knelt in front of her and winced at the large knot on her left temple. Reaching up to feel it with a low apology at her deep hiss. "What happened?"

"I was leaving for the day and noticed this little two-year-old had gotten away from her mother." Ha Ni explained with a cringe as she began to slide off the table. "Her mom was pregnant and couldn't move fast enough to catch her. I could see the steps gleaming with ice so I went to grab her. I managed to get ahold of her arm but my feet slipped out from under me. So while she only plopped down on her bottom at the top step, I landed at the bottom on my head." Ha Ni finished with a chuckle. "I'm all right except for sporting a nice overall shade of the Christmas colors."

He helped her carefully to her feet and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Let's get you home."

She nodded and moved slowly out the room. Thanking the others for helping her and Seung Jo put his arm around her waist. Even though she was being careful to hide her pain from her coworkers, he could tell she was in bad shape.

He drove slowly home and was relieved when he finally saw the warm glow of the house. The weather was making the roads a mess and he had been nervous they would skid off the road which is the last thing Oh Ha Ni needed right now.

Ha Ni let out a long sigh of relief as they stepped inside the house. "All I want is my soft pajamas and a big cup of tea."

Seung Jo nodded and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Go change. I will start the tea."

"Hmm." She headed up the stairs and he smiled at her dramatic groans. He began to make the tea and was debating on whether or not to light the fireplace to help ward off the chill when he heard her call for him wearily.

"Seung Jo?"

"Yeah?"

"Can you help me?"

He frowned as he walked to the bedroom, surprised to see her still fully dressed in her scrubs. "What's wrong?"

"Everything hurts." She chuckled. "Can you help me lift my shirt up?"

He nodded and grabbed her top, lifting it over her head and his eyes widened as he took in the full first image of her. "Ha Ni." He gasped, his fingers trailing over the deep bruises. "You are—"

"I know." She groaned. "I am one giant bruise."

He gently inspected her and felt a wave of irrational anger at Parang. "They should have salted the steps." He growled. "You could have killed yourself."

"I'm all right." His wife sighed. "But I doubt I can work tomorrow."

"No." Seung Jo agreed as he dug around in his drawer for some loose sweats for her. "In fact, I will be surprised if you are able to move well enough to go back to work this week."

She groaned and stiffly sat on the edge of the bed. "Well, at least the little girl didn't get hurt."

Seung Jo turned her around and winced again at the large molten of colors on her back. "For crying out loud, Ha Ni. Did you hit every single step on the way down?"

"Pretty much."

He kissed the bruises over her shoulder and she smiled up at him. "I'm sorry though."

"For what?" He asked in confusion as he brought the large t-shirt over her head. "This wasn't your fault."

"No, but I had a surprise for you." Ha Ni sighed. "Since your family was going to be gone. I was going to be waiting for you when you got home. In a certain… attire."

Seung Jo raised his eyebrow. "Really?"

"Mm-hmm." Ha Ni laughed and dipped her head to the open closet door where a long deep red nightgown which was his favorite color on her hung. It was backless and had only two tiny bows holding the whole thing together. "It was my early Christmas present for you."

Seung Jo felt his skin grow warm at the image of her waiting for him in that gown and he groaned into her neck. "You're killing me."

She chuckled. "That wasn't the present. At least not all of it."

His fingers tightened on her waist as he lifted his head. "There was more?"

She went to her nightstand and pulled out an envelope. He opened it with a curious smile and his eyes about fell out of his head. It was tickets to an opening of his favorite classical piece being performed by the Korean national symphony. He had tried to get tickets when he first heard about it but they sold out in a matter of a few hours.

"Ha Ni, how did you—"

"I learned about it last year." Ha Ni laughed. "One of the nurses randomly mentioned it to me because her husband was the one setting up a contact for the concert hall where it was being held. He arranged the tickets for me and set them aside before the concert was even announced."

A flicker of disappointment flashed over her face. "I've been planning this for weeks. I couldn't wait to give them to you but I wanted to do it when we actually had the house to ourselves." She looked down at her sore and battered body. "And now I've ruined it by falling down the stairs."

Seung Jo lifted her head with a long kiss. "You didn't ruin anything."

She gave him a sarcastic glare but he only nudged her to the door. "Go drink your tea. I have my own surprise planned now."

Ha Ni looked surprised but didn't argue and slowly trudge down to the kitchen. Seung Jo watched her go with a deep sense of warmth in his chest. He had never told anyone how badly he wanted to go to this concert. But his wife had known. She had seen how much it meant to him from nothing but his casual mentioning of it a few times. So, she had gone out of her way to get it for him and even planned a romantic romp during one the rare times they were actually alone.

He knew she was disappointed to have it spoiled by her injuries and with another scan at the red nightgown which made his blood hum, he felt a rush of disappointment too. He would have probably jumped on her like a madman tonight if he had come home and seen her light up in that red waiting for him.

"We will just have to improvise." Seung Jo mumbled and went to the bathroom with new determination. By the time, Ha Ni finished her tea and made her way back upstairs, he had a large bubble bath planned for her. The room was light with a dozen candles and soft music from the piece she had bought the tickets for playing in the background.

Ha Ni smiled warmly as he waited for her. "My muscles feel better already."

He smirked and reached for her, helping her lower into the tub. Relishing in her deep sighs of relief over the hot water running over her bruised flesh.

"Come here." His wife whispered and Seung Jo smiled as he quickly stripped and settled in behind her. She laid her head against his chest and he brushed a kiss over her neck.

"Better?"

She nodded, her hands floating with the thick bubbles. "Much."

He stroked her arm, closing his eyes enjoying the sound of the music and her laying against him. "I'm glad you liked your present." Ha Ni mumbled happily. "It was hard to keep it from you for so long."

He made a humming noise. "Although, I doubt hearing it live will be as relaxing as this right now."

Ha Ni smiled. The candles and soft music created such a calm, relaxing atmosphere as they sat in the hot tub together, she almost forgot how sore she was. She tilted her head up to look at him. "Can I talk to you about something?"

Seung Jo opened his eyes, his hand coming up to stroke her neck. "Of course."

She bit her lip tentatively before sighing. "I wanted to ask you if you thought it might be time to get our own place?"

Seung Jo stared at her in obvious surprise. "Really?"

Ha Ni nodded slowly. "I've been thinking about it for a while. I love our family but I am ready to have some alone time with you. To be able to really create our own home and not just a small bedroom where we are constantly tripping over each other."

She lifted her head again to meet his eye. "I want us to have more nights like these… Not just every four or six months for a random night because we somehow managed to get the house to ourselves.

Seung Jo pressed a long kiss to her neck. "Me too. I hate not being able to come home and spend my evenings with just you." He stroked over her wet skin. "I've actually been thinking about us trying to get a small house nearby. I was going to talk to you about it after the New Year."

Ha Ni laid her hands over his arms. "I think it's time. Besides… I want to enjoy just being Baek Seung Jo and Ha Ni a little bit before we have babies crawling around our feet."

Seung Jo laughed huskily and laid his cheek next to hers. "We can start looking after Christmas."

"Okay." Ha Ni gave him a knowing glance. "But who's going to tell Geum Hee?"

"I will handle my mom." Seung Jo promised with another kiss. "Don't worry."

"Hmm."

Feeling pleased by the idea that Ha Ni was just as ready as he was to finally have a space of their own, Seung Jo sank even further into relaxation. His hand stroking along the flesh of her stomach with a sleepy hum. "You're not though, right?"

"What?"

"Pregnant."

"I thought I was a few weeks ago." Ha Ni said softly and his eyes shot open. "What?"

She nodded. "I've been so tired lately and my stomach was not agreeing with me in the mornings."

"Ha Ni—" Seung Jo gulped and remembering her fall, he made a strangled cry but she quickly shook her head with a laugh. "Don't worry. I went to Doctor Song to double-check and I'm not."

"Are you sure?" He asked breathlessly and she nodded. He sank in relief. Not so much because she wasn't pregnant but thinking she might have have been harmed today while pregnant was like a knife straight through his chest.

"I wouldn't mind." Ha Ni said softly. "But I am kind of glad we aren't. Not yet. Not until we get our own place and really make a home for ourselves."

Seung Jo wrapped his arms around her. "Don't scare me like that."

"What?" Ha Ni wrinkled her nose in confusion. "By thinking I was pregnant?"

"No." He muttered with a sigh. "I can't wait to see you as the mother of my children. But the idea of you getting hurt is already hard for me. Let alone imagining you might be—"

"I'm sorry." Ha Ni laughed. "I didn't think about it scaring you because I fell today. I was just explaining why I started thinking more seriously about getting our own place."

Seung Jo relaxed and they sank back into the tub. Listening to the music and softly going over what they would like in a house. The hot water and candles flickering over their skin as they touched and memorized each other. It had been a while since they had lay intimate with each other like this and not just passionately wrapped around each other in bed.

Which Seung Jo admitted with an inward grin, they did a lot. Despite how it may appear to others, Seung Jo and Ha Ni were a deeply sensual couple. They had discovered early in their marriage that touch was deeply important to both of them. They couldn't sleep at night without the other and rarely went more than a few days without making love.

But they didn't have a lot of opportunities to simply snuggle with each other bare like this. To see her wearing nothing but his shirt while they ate breakfast or come home late for work and Ha Ni sitting on the couch by the fire waiting for him. For him to make her tea while she sat on the deck and watched the sky without someone interrupting them.

And Seung Jo suddenly realized how desperately he wanted that. To really have a marriage with her in an actual home and not just squeeze in a few seconds here and there while his family was gone.

"We are getting our own place." He growled in her ear. "So, I can draw you a bath anytime I want and you can wear that gown for me without having to wait for a scheduled opening."

She laughed and nodded. "I like the sound of that."

Laying a lingering kiss behind her ear, Seung Jo sighed. "The waters getting cold… Are you ready to get out?"

Ha Ni grimaced. "I guess so."

She stood up with a long groan and Seung Jo quickly steadied her. Alarmed to see even more bruises had formed in the few hours since they arrived home. "My poor baby." He mumbled and she smiled at the rare endearment.

"I actually feel all right now but I can't deny bed sounds good."

"Come on." Seung Jo dried her off as gently as possible before swinging her up in his arms. "I think you've done enough walking today."

Ha Ni snuggled into his chest as he carried her to the bedroom. Deciding not to bother putting clothes on her, he simply tucked her warm, bare body under the covers. Her eyes immediately fell closed and she sighed contently as he crawled in behind her. "Well, it wasn't quite the evening I had planned but it still turned out nicely."

"It was perfect." Seung Jo assured her quietly. "I can't believe you got me tickets for that concert…" He lifted his head slightly. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Ha Ni kissed him lightly. "I'm sorry you won't have anything unwrap on Christmas day though."

He simply poked her ribs in response and she smiled sleepily. "What time do you have to be at the hospital tomorrow?"

"I don't." Seung Jo mumbled and she rolled in obvious surprise. "What?"

"I am taking tomorrow off." He told her with a small grin. "I don't have any surgeries scheduled this week and except for some paperwork which I can catch up on at any time, my day is strangely free. So, I am taking tomorrow off as a snow day with you."

Ha Ni looked delighted by this idea. "Really?"

"Mm-hmm." Seung Jo rubbed her stomach since it seemed to be the only part of her currently not black-and-blue. "I already called Parang and told them about your fall. They said for you to take as many days off as you need and for me only to come back once I am comfortable with you being able to get around on your own."

"I'm fine."

"For now." Seung Jo chuckled. "By tomorrow you will be so stiff, you won't even be able to get out of bed."

"True." Ha Ni sighed since she could already feel her muscles locking up. She gave him a happy beam. "I like the idea of being snowed in with you."

"Me too." Seung Jo agreed with a hum. "We will make a fire and look at houses on the computer tomorrow."

"All right." Ha Ni kissed him once more and then with a groan of pain, she rolled into his chest. "I may sleep in though."

"Sleep as long as you want." Seung Jo stroked gently over hair, knowing her head was probably aching from the knot on her temple. "I will stay with you."

"Okay." Ha Ni mumbled already half-asleep. "I love you."

Seung Jo muttered it softly back to her and tucked her more firmly into her side. His eyes taking in every bruise on her poor wife's body and with another protective cluck, he decided that yelling at someone about salting their stairs just got moved up higher on his agenda list.

"No."

Seung Jo blinked at the slurred command. What?"

"I know what you were thinking." Ha Ni muttered weakly. "You are not going to yell at security or some poor janitor. It was just an accident Seung Jo."

"You were hurt." Seung Jo snapped. "It—"

"No." Ha Ni repeated with a small laugh. "She was two, Seung Jo. Her mom already apologized half a dozen times. You're not going to make a scene over an accident."

He squirmed for a moment before sighing in defeat. "Fine. I won't yell at anyone."

"Thank you."

"But if you have even more bruise on you tomorrow, all bets are off."

Ha Ni rolled her eyes but simply settled her head back on his chest. "All right but not the two year old."

He stroked her arm as she drifted asleep. His eyes watching the snow come down around them like one his mother's snow-globes. And feeling his wife tucked up solidly into him, he decided that snow days were going to be a new permanent thing for them.

He grinned at the future image of a fire and Ha Ni reading in their new home together. Her belly swelling with pregnancy and him making dinner for them.

He mumbled his love for her again and turned off the light. And as he drifted off, he made a mental note to make sure that they bought a house with at least three fireplaces and big closets where Ha Ni could have nightgowns in every color to surprise him in.

"Hmm." Seung Jo liked this idea and envisioning her in the red one once she was no longer bruised all over, he grinned one last time before curling protectively around her and decided snow wasn't so bad after all.
