A few days passed until I saw Sam and his siblings back at Bonny's. They came once every three weeks, he would always use cash. The little girl and the boy got the same flavor of ice cream, from sharing it in the same cup. It was blue-and-pink cotton candy ice cream, the deep blue and saturated pink would stripe across each other in the big tube placed behind the glass shield. After about three weeks of them coming down to the shop, I memorized their orders, not out of interest or anything, but mainly because I memorized everyones after two visits. Sam got mint chocolate chip, in the same size bowl his brother and sister did, between a small and medium.

After giving them their ice cream, I smiled while they thanked me. As they sat down at a small table across from the cashier counter, they laughed and talked about their day with each other. I watched warmly for a second before leaning my elbows on the counter and pulling out my phone before more people came to order. Once they left the shop to sit outside, Sam stood up, making his way to me at the cash register part of the ice cream bar type of thing. I look up to him with my periwinkle blue visor, a loose low bun following behind.

"How may I help you?" I ask. It was mandatory to say that whenever a customer came up to you. He looked at me as I stood my torso up to be straightened. "Could I get some napkins? Stevie and Stacey got a little messy with their ice cream," He said, leaning his upper body slightly to the side so I could peek my head and look at them. I could see the two licking their sticky, pink and blue dripping fingers while the same consistency surrounded their lips and mouths, not noticing the already pile of brown-tan napkins on the table. I looked back to Sam and pointed behind him, way to the right. It was a napkin dispenser, very easy. I grinned as he looked to where I pointed, scratching the back of his neck. He looked back to me as I did a few things on the front-counter computer.

"Actually, I didn't come for the napkins.." he said, looking at me as my eyes fixated on the computer screen, "I came to talk to you." I looked up to him with a worrisome face. "Is there something wrong with the ice cream? I know Raymond should've been checked.." I said, the last part under my breath as I looked down. He let out a light chuckle, jerking his head back a little. I looked up. "Not really in that sense, I mean just in general," he said.

"In general?"

"That's what I was thinking,"

"Okay, what do you want to talk about?"

"I don't know,"

I smiled softly, unnoticeable. He leaned down on the front of the counter, across from me and looking into my eyes. I stretched my elbows out as my hands held the end of it. My gaze switched to behind him slightly, not his ass, but his siblings. Though he did have a bit of a bum...

I saw them painting each other's faces with the melted ice cream 'soup' in their bowls. I turned back to Sam. "How about tomorrow, when I'm off of work," I said, looking down at him as he looked up to me. He stood up, digging through his pockets to bring out a small piece of paper. He reached behind the counter, grabbing a foggy, blue pen in a cup and started to write down a few digits. I watched as he wrote across the paper.

"Here's my number, we can set up something," he said, handing me the piece of paper.

"A date?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I examined the number and tucked it into my own jean pockets.

"If you think of it like that,"

I smiled, lowering my eyebrow and looking down. By the time I looked back up He had been at his table cleaning the boy and girl's faces with a napkin and water from the plastic water bottle next to him. I waved good-bye as they left.

I couldn't understand why he came up to me unexpectedly. We had met three days ago, and nothing else happened after that. Then all of a sudden he came to the counter and asked for a 'date' with me. I didn't think too much of it. If Sam Evans was a mysterious, confusing boy, I would take it. He seemed nice, and not like any of the other boys I talked to. Like I've talked to that many, pfft. I shook my head slowly looking down and leaning over the counter again as another customer came to get a scoop of rocky road ice cream.
