Did I really not notice it?
I can't believe I was that dumb.
All those times, dammit.
You were snuggled up so close
I just thought you were cold.

The genin were required to stay in the compound until the exam was over. It had been a day since they first arrived and they were supplied with food and entertainment, that coming in the form of several card/board games. Shino had just won his 40th consecutive hand in poker when Naruto stood up, "Are you a chicken? Or perhaps, a small baby?" Shino taunted the blonde.

"Shino, why do you talk so weird," Naruto retorted as he began to walk off.

"Well see the reason is be-"

"Anyway," Naruto yawned and stretched as Shino dropped his head. Gaara gave him a pat on the shoulder. He had seen Temari do that to Sakura when she was upset. He was getting pretty good at caring about people, "I'm off to bed you guys," Naruto continued, "goodnight everyone," he waved over his shoulder and headed out the door.

"You should go with him," Temari motioned to Hinata. The girl was immediately red-faced. Her and Naruto had slept in the same bed before, but it had been a while, and just the memory made her a little dizzy.

"I don't know," she rubbed her arm and looked down.

"Come on, it's obvious that you two like each other, you've been handsy with each other all week," Sakura probably shouldn't have said that. Hinata shot up, completely red.

"It'sgettinglateokaygoodnighteveryoneI'mgoingtobed," she darted out of the room. She was so embarrassed. Had everyone noticed? She just kept thinking about how uncomfortable she must've made people. She began to tear up as she headed towards the farthest room down the hall. She felt terrible for being so oblivious. She slammed the door to her room, curled up on her bed, and began to sob. After a while, she forgot the reason she was crying but continued to do so. There didn't have to be a reason, she just felt like crying.

"Should I go check on her? She seemed really upset," Kiba asked the room, standing up.

"No Kiba I think it's best if we left her alone," Kiba was shocked. How could they consider just leaving her alone, especially when she was all flustered.

"I think I'm just gonna-"

"Kiba! Leave her alone!" This time Kankurō shouted, "I understand you're her friend, but she doesn't need you right now."

Kiba ignored him and continued to head for the door, only for Akamaru to growl and bite him, "OW! Akamaru what the hell? Why is everyone so against helping our friend?"

"Naruto is out there," Sasuke appeared, "he knows her better than any of us, including you, Kiba," he paused, "Naruto will talk to her. Now sit back down, I want to clean you guys out."

Naruto finished his shower after he heard a loud thud at the end of the hallway. He liked showering, but sometimes it was an evil place. He was stuck with his memories there. He had been thinking about that day a lot, the day he wiped out Orochimaru's base, ever since he fought the snake sannin. He dried off and put a pair of shorts on and headed to investigate the noise. He heard sobbing coming from one of the rooms. He cracked the door open to hear a yelp, "I'm asleep please leave me alone!"

"Hinata-chan? What's the matter?" Naruto opened the door and began walking towards a now silent Hinata. "Hinata can you please tell me?" She continued to look away in silence. "Okay, well, I have a present for you!" She gave a confused look to the boy. He undid a seal on his arm and out popped a cinnamon bun, "A kehiban for my kehiban-ttebayo," Naruto chuckled at the statement that just made Hinata melt, "I always keep this on hand in case you're sad," she melted again. How many times was she going to have to melt?

"Na-Naruto-kun, I-I," she paused and launched herself into the boys arms and began to sob again, "I can't take this anymore!"

Kiba had tried to get up for the fourth time to go check on Hinata when Shikamaru, who had arrived shortly after his first attempt, stopped him using shadow paralysis. He turned his attention back to his and Temari's shogi game. "LET. ME. CHECK. ON. HER!"

"Naruto!" The group shouted at him.

"Naruto!" Now Hinata shouted, "I said I love you." He was still in disbelief. He asked her to repeat herself twice.

"Wh-why?" Was his sheepish reply.

"Why wouldn't I be," Hinata sniffled, "you've always protected me, you make me better just by being around, and you make me feel warm and happy," she paused before mumbling, "and you're hot."

Naruto thought for a moment. He felt that Hinata was all of those things too. Did he love her? Before he thought about it anymore, he brought Hinata in closer to him and held her there, "I... I feel the same way about you."

"Do you mean that?" Kiba asked the room, "Yes Kiba, they understand each other," Temari replied, "just let them figure it out."

"Yes, Hinata. I do mean that." He pulled her with him onto the bed. She was safe on his warm, chiseled, beautiful, wonderful, perfect- she fainted, her hand placed on the boys chest.

"Ke-kehiban?" Kiba asked, "Why's that her nickname?" Even Shino grew a tick mark. He was starting to get annoyed with Kiba. It could have been partly because Sasuke was wiping the floor with him, but that's not the point.

"Because she's cute like a cinnamon bun," Ino replied.

Naruto was still holding the cinnamon bun. Hinata was clocked out in his chest, and he could barely move at all. Only after he understood his love for her could he finally get her nickname. She was really cute, and adorable, beautiful, pretty, nice- Naruto, too, fainted. He finally realized how happy she made him. But then he remembered how he used his fūinnome on Orochimaru to gather information. He was now stuck for 72 hours without being able to see Hinata. It was maddening, the worst fūinnome dream ever. AHe had had ones that lasted weeks, and they were nothing compared to this. He began to feel even worse when he realized this was how Hinata felt whenever he was away. He could even hear Hinata's voice. It was the worst form of torture he could ever experience.

"Naruto-kun? Naruto-kun!" He shot awake. The dream lasted for 72 hours. Nuibari tried her best to comfort his endless sobbing, to no avail. He squeezed the girl as hard as he could, causing her to deflate a little, "The," she paused and whimpered, "the cinnamon bun, it's," she gestured back with her head. Naruto looked to see said bun planted on her bun. He reached over to grab it and Hinata snuggled deeper. Naruto grabbed the cinnamon bun and was about to put it away when Hinata mumbled, "N-Naruto-kun," the boy looked at her as she reached her hand towards the bun, "can I..."

"What, this?" Naruto pointed around the bun, getting a nod, "You mean you want the cinnamon bun?"

"Yes Naruto, just please can I have it?"

"Have what?"

"Baka," Hinata pouted and looked away.

"You know it's cannibalism if you eat these right?"

"Well it's not really cannibalism," Kiba shouted. "Like she's not actually a cinnamon bun," the others stared at him in disbelief.

"How did you even graduate the academy?" Kankurō asked pushing Akamaru, who was trying to see his cards, away, "We know she's not actually a cinnamon roll, Kiba. We've told you about 10 times." Kiba squinted. He still wasn't sure.

"Yeah but-"

"Kiba just go check on Hinata or something," this time the room was all in agreement. They just could not deal with his nonsense. He got up and headed towards the door, faster than a bullet, Akamaru behind him.

The only thing Kiba could smell was a delicious cinnamon roll. He began to drool. They still hadn't got their food yet. He made his way towards the bun, assuming that it was Hinata. There had to be a reason for that nickname, and he would figure it out. He slowly opened the door, "Hinata? Are you in here?"

"Yes Kiba," Hinata was kneeling on the bed, nibbling on her cinnamon bun, "what is it?"

"Oh I was just worried about you after you left was all. You just seemed upset."

"Everything's all right now, no need to worry Kiba-ttebayo," Hinata had started to pick up Naruto's tic from being around him for so long.

"Oh okay... hey where'd you get the cinnamon bun?"

"Oh Naruto-kun gave it to me," she paused and saw the boy looking down, "do you want it Kiba?"

"Yeah, they haven't given us food yet and Me and Akamaru were starving," the puppy barked in agreement.

"Oh you're hungry?" Naruto got up and started walking to the door, "I've got some food, you should've just said so. Just give me a minute here."

"We're... preeeetty hungry."

"Okay... I know Kiba just give me a second I'll bring some stuff."

"Okay but we're... REALLY-"

"Kib," Hinata spoke, "We'll be there soon."

Kiba stood in the doorway, "Kiba... can you..." Naruto gestured to the door.

"Can I do what?" Akamaru was trying to drag Kiba away, "Hey! What are you doing, bud? I'm talking to Naruto right now."

"Kiba, I think Akamaru is trying to lead you somewhere," Hinata said politely.

"Not right now, buddy. I'm having a conversation with-"

"KIBA JUST FOLLOW THE DAMN DOG!" Naruto, who lost his patience, shouted. Kiba jumped and left quickly. "Sorry, Kehiban, I-" He looked down to see her fast asleep, holding him tightly. He shook her awake. The sudden shake apparently startled Hinata, as she unleashed a gentle fist strike on the boy's left arm. He winced in pain, his arm going completely limp.

"OH! Naruto-kun, I- Oh my god I'm so stupid, I-"

"Oh come on, don't say that, Hinata,' she looked away, "I would rather you be more worried than not," he chuckled, "Now let's go eat."

Naruto put on a shirt, grabbed a couple of scrolls from his bag, and headed towards the center room, Hinata in tow, "Are you guys hungry?" Naruto bellowed, getting a confused look from everyone. He pulled out three scrolls and did something to them, revealing 3 tables, each full of a different food, "I've been saving up just for a situation like this-ttebayo," he beamed and held out a thumb. One table was full of Ichiraku, one was full of dumplings, and one had a bunch of grilled meats. Also on the end of one of the tables was four bowls of tomato soup, each with a rice ball and extra tomatoes on the side. Naruto looked at Sasuke, who noticed his favorite food, and winked.

"Itadakimasu!"

Hey all! How's it going? Yes, two fake thirteen year olds fell in love it's not weird or anything. You're being weird.
Anyway~
Next up is prelims so be ready for that. I'm skipping some of the matches that would be basically the same. Here is the list of people who pass that will not be talked about: Temari, Shikamaru, Kankurō, Sakura, and Shino. I know Sakura didn't pass in the original, but I really just didn't like her and Ino's fight in the first place, so I don't want to write it again. This universe's version of Sakura would pummel Ino. Sakura is so physically strong that she basically just could overpower Ino in their taijutsu duel. Hope you have a good day/night (or else!)
Guhbye!
Xoxo Jerry.
