Spring Surprises-

Gina and Rosa were about to give some announcement out of the blue this random morning in mid March as the rest of the squad paid close attention. "Alright guys listen up! Rosa and I have important news to tell you. We decided we might as well tell you now instead of waiting and possibly having someone find out. And Charles if you get weird and/or annoying about this we will cut off your testicles. Snip, Snip, and I'm not kidding," Gina says as Charles looks fearful but interested in what she has to tell. She gestures for Rosa to say something.

"Gina and I are dating," Rosa says, which shocks the squad before they start saying stuff,"Wow I'm definitely surprised but I'm also really happy for you both. Thanks for being willing to tell us though," Jake says.

"Ya and if you guys want to talk about stuff or if people are bugging you about it ever, just let us know!" Amy adds.

"Thanks for trusting us enough to tell us. Terry's glad you two are happy together," Terry says.

Boyle gets ready to speak before they can threaten him more,"I just want to say I'm really happy for you both and you guys are perfect for each other." They all hug, although Rosa protests at first it makes her happy to have the hug and to know that the squad isn't gonna treat her and Gina any different now because of this. She quickly wipes away the tears in her eyes, although Amy notices and gives her a caring smile that Rosa returns quickly. They all go back to eating and talking afterwards although Rosa and Gina are thinking about how happy they are to have told the squad and that they have all that support from them as well.

The next few weeks go by quickie as they approach the end sophomore year. Jake and Amy have been making plans for the summer and are super excited to be together so much. But mid way through April Jake's world was flipped upside down when his dad showed up. Roger Peralta is a pilot and more importantly the man who abandoned Jake and his mom when Jake was seven years old. He'd made sporadic appearances, which always got Jake's hopes up that he would be around more, only to be disappointed time and time again after days, weeks, and very rarely a month of Roger being around. Amy has never liked Roger for what he does to Jake's emotions and how he basically ditches him. The rest of the squad doesn't either, especially Gina, who had already been friends with Jake for a long time before Roger had left him and his mom. She saw how much that hurt him and how much he blamed himself for it even though she had tried to explain he did nothing wrong. But in Jake's eyes Roger was a hero and that was why he had never had much time for him. It makes Amy angry but she forces herself not to say anything otherwise Jake will get upset.

Jake had gotten a call from his dad saying he was gonna be living in New York again for the foreseeable future (their college was in New York state not the city) and that he wanted to come hang out with Jake in a few days. Jake was excited and he was ignoring Gina's concerns about his dad. The weekend came and Jake hung out with his dad all day and when he came back he was excited and happy. "So he said he'll pick me up again next weekend for some hanging out and after we get done with school he said we are gonna go on a vacation!"

"That's great Jake! But are we still gonna be able to do all our plans that we've been making?" Amy asks.

"Of course! We may have to push stuff back and move stuff around but I wouldn't miss being with you for the world Ames."

"Aw thanks Jake. I wouldn't kiss being with you for anything either."

They talk more and continue through the week and Jake hangs out with his dad again the following weekend. As the end of the school year approaches Jake and Amy continue making their plans for the summer and decide that on the second to last day before they finish, they are going to watch more documentaries in her room like last year after she had won their bet. They decided to make it an end of school tradition where they lay down and watch documentaries together. (Jake wanted a die hard marathon, but Amy convinced him to make documentaries their tradition). They laid in her bed, Amy sitting in front of Jake with his arms wrapped around her and spent a few hours watching them until they both fell asleep.

They finished the year strong, Amy once again at the top of her classes and Jake doing pretty well too. Jake and Amy kiss goodbye and are excited to start their plans in a few weeks when he's back from vacation with his dad. But not everything goes as planned that summer, mainly for Jake.

To Be Continued In Junior Year!
