It's time for chapter 2! I woke up to some really good news today, Leodragon678 of all people reviewed the story! I just want to say I'm so thankful for the good review, and I love Waves, Parallel Lives, and Sleep Paralysis! Tails is also my favorite character as well! I also got a review from a guest, and thanks for the kind words! They really keep me going and give me more drive to write this story. Anyways, let's get to the next chapter!

Sonic entered Tails' workshop, looking around. He had been searching for his best friend all day, and couldn't find him anywhere. A flashing red light from a computer on a desk caught his attention. The cobalt hedgehog walked up to the computer, and turned it on. An automated distress signal printed onto the screen. It read:

END OF REPORT

Sonic wasted no time. He ran from the computer and to the garage where Tails kept his various vehicles and machines. He climbed into the Tornado III, and powered up the engine. He barely knew how to operate the aircraft, but that didn't matter. His best friend's life was at stake! So, he switched the aircraft to Cyclone mode, also known as mech mode, walked it outside, boosted into the air, switched back to Tornado mode, and flew off towards Angel Island.

Meanwhile, Tails was being carried into a room by two Eggrobos. Shortly after he had passed out, the two robots had recovered him from the water, as Eggman had ordered them to. Then they carried him all the way to Eggman's base of operations. They entered the room, where Dr. Eggman was standing in the corner, watching them. He motioned to a steel table at the center of the room. "Set him down." Eggman ordered them. The robots carelessly dropped him onto the table. Eggman promptly smacked the daylights out of them, causing their lights to flicker. "And be careful with him, you brutes! He's barely alive as it is. Don't make him worse." The Eggrobos simply turned around and left the room. "Stupid robots…" the scientist muttered to himself as he watched one of the screens mounted on the walls. There were several, seemingly displaying security camera feeds. One showed the wreck of the Tornado I, in what looked like a workshop. Several Eggrobos carried parts back and forth.

Tails began to wake, and Eggman turned around to look at him. "Well, look who's awake. I take it you had a nice rest?" Tails looked down at his injured foot, and saw that it was wrapped in bandages, and his shoe was gone. In fact, both his shoes and his gloves were gone. Eggman pulled a small device out of his coat pocket, and pressed a button. Metal locks secured themselves around Tails' limbs, affixing him to the table. He struggled against the locks to no avail. "Eggman! What are you doing?! Let me go!" Eggman grinned, looking Tails in the eyes.

"Not a chance, fox boy. We have important business ahead of us." Tails struggled more, and Eggman scowled. "You better stop if you know what's best for you." Tails stopped, and went into a terrible coughing fit. After that, his head dropped onto the table. Eggman turned around again, and looked at the screen that was showing the Tornado I's wreck. "I'll admit, Miles. I admire your taste. It almost hurt me to shoot down a plane as good-looking as that… almost."

Tails looked at Eggman, and raised an eyebrow. "Why are you calling me Miles? It's Tails." Eggman snapped around, and pinned Tails to the table by his neck. "Because I'm not your buddy, Miles." Eggman let go, and brushed his coat off. "Now… you will tell me where the Chaos Emeralds are." Tails spat at Eggman. "You're looking for them again? You know you'll never get them!" Eggman grinned wildly, and stared Tails down again. Tails could barely see the mad doctor's black and red eyes behind his glasses. "Oh, really? Is your blue buddy coming to save you? He'll be lucky if there's anything left to save." Tails' heart sank. What was Eggman planning to do with him?

Eggman pressed another button on the device, and Tails was suddenly being electrocuted. He clenched his fists and tried to get out, but the locks held him in place.

"Aaah! Eggman, stop! Please!" Tails cried out, but only Eggman was there to hear his plea for help. The doctor pressed the button again, and the flow of electricity stopped. "Now, about those Chaos Emeralds?" Tails glared at Eggman. "I don't know where they are. Even if I did, I would never tell you!" "Oh, please," Eggman scoffed. One of the screens in the room showed a medical report of Tails. Eggman motioned to it. It indicated that Tails suffered 2 broken ribs, severe blood loss, head trauma, hypothermia, and a broken foot. "You're in a sorry state as it is. You have two options, Miles. Tell me… or die here. You choose."

Tails pondered for a second, then sighed. "Do your worst, Eggman. Kill me, and Sonic will find you. And when he finds out what you did… your only option will be to run. And tell me, Eggman… how well do you think it would work out for you, if you tried to run from Sonic the Hedgehog?"

Eggman pondered as well, before clicking the button again. He grinned evilly at Tails as he convulsed from the electricity flowing through him. This continued for almost a full minute, then Eggman turned it off.

"That'll teach you to talk back to me, you furry little deformity." However, Eggman was speaking to nobody. Tails had passed out again. Eggman growled, and turned around to look at the screens again. The one showing Tails' medical report had a new, rather alarming reading on it.

A small amount of dark Chaos energy had begun to flow through Tails.

Well, there's chapter 2 finished! It ended earlier than I wanted it to, however I'm tired and my mind is just drawing up blanks at the moment. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it! Please R&R!
