It was Wednesday morning, We are greeted to May's room this morning. May was sleeping on her pink twin sized bed and was cuddling her torchic plushie. She was wearing her pink nightgown that reached up to her knees. She was comfortably sleeping until her little brother Max came running in.

"May, wake up!" Max yelled while shaking his sister. May was a heavy sleeper and didn't budge to wake up. Max looked at his surroundings and spotted the torchic plushie. He proceeded to grab May's plushie. But he felt May's fingers squishing the plushie as if her life depended on it. "MAY! LET GO!" Max whined as he tried to take the plushie. May opened her eyes, but she glared at her little brother. "I'm up" May grumbled and yanked the plushie back to her side. Max was terrified of this side of his sister but he managed to say " Mom is coming back today, and she told me to wake you up for school"

May got up from her bed and looked at her little brother. Max was wearing his ninja pajamas and she couldn't help but laugh at her little brother. Max noticed this and turned beet red and yelled in defense " AT LEAST I DON'T SLEEP WITH A TORCHIC PLUSHIE!" May threw her pillow at her brother and exclaimed " Out!" She looked at her clock it was barely 6:09 am, and she closed the door to get changed.

May decided to wear a green bow today with an orange V-neck shirt, black jeans, black medium socks and wore orange shoes. She looked at the torchic plushie before she went downstairs and smiled. The reason why she grasped onto that plushie was due to her first encounter with a certain grasshead.

It was the first day of 6th grade for Gary Oak and May Maple. Gary was naturally good at making friends and every kid was interested in his grandfather's research. But May was always envied by other girls because she was Gary's friend. May usually ignored it during elementary but that day she wanted to make a change. She decided to tell those girls off, so she met them in a classroom during passing period.

"I'm his friend! And there's nothing wrong with it! Boys can friends with girls who are weird!" May exclaimed while holding back tears. But the girls just snickered and laughed at the May "He's friends with a crybaby!" One of the girls said while laughing and pointing a finger at her. It was no use, May thought to herself and cried while morphing herself into a ball. The girls laughed at her and they all managed to move her inside the closet. They locked the door and walked to P.E class. May cried in the closet and felt so dumb for not fighting back.

She stayed in the closet for an hour until she heard a sound, it was the sound of keys rattling. "Hey, I'm inside here!" May exclaimed while getting up from her crying position. The door opened to reveal Gary tackling his best friend. "May! You have no idea how worried i was!" Gary wailed while hugging her. May was surprised that her presence actually mattered. "I'm sorry" she stated quietly. "Don't be" said a green haired boy, he was wearing a purple jacket, a black long-sleeved shirt, teal shorts and black shoes. "Who are you?" May asked while getting up. "Oh right, May this is Drew" Gary said while motioning his hand towards him " He's the one who found you " May nodded and walked out of the closet."Thanks" she said while walking to get her stuff. "Let's go home" Drew decided to tag along with the duo.

As soon as they walked out of the classroom, sure enough school was already over. Gary held May's hand and asked her on the way out of school. "Are you good? Why were you stuck in there?" May quivered in fear and was quiet for most of the walk back home. That was Until Drew stated out of the blue "She was being bullied for being friends with you". May's eyes widened and Gary looked at his friend. May was scared that Gary and Drew found out. Gary immediately hugged May and said " I'm sorry for not being there, if not they would of had a taste of Gary Oak and not the good kind" May told them everything afterwards and was relieved that her best friend loved her no matter what.

Finally, they arrived home and before they went inside. Drew approached May and held out a torchic plushie. May was delighted to see a plushie and was about to grab it until Drew said "Uh-Uh, first you have to listen to what I say". May was surprised considering how he saved her from bullies, but she nodded. Drew looked at her and exclaimed "From here on out, I'm the only one who gets to bully you!" May gave a confused stare "Huh?" "Not in a harsh way more like a tease" Drew said while passing her the torchic plushie. "Besides I'm giving you this, so that you don't have to handle things alone anymore".

May understood this and waved her hand to say goodbye to Drew. Oh if he only knew how grateful she felt towards him from that point onward.

May was spacing out while eating her breakfast. Max was busy eating his cereal but he noticed as soon as he finished. But May looked at the time and it was suddenly 6:30.

"Oh snap! I gotta go!" May said while grabbing her lunch from the fridge."Bye Max!" May slammed the door to her house leaving a loud sound behind.

Max looked at the door in shock and was startled by his sister's sighed "She's a lot to handle".

May ran to go meet up with Gary and he was wearing a black coat with gray jeans. It was still December so snow was still on the radar. She saw how the snow was finally melting and asked "Gary, do you know what comes after snowfall?" Gary shrugged " I don't know, water?"

"No silly" May said and turned around to smile "It's spring!"

Gary looked at her genuinely confused. "May, you're so weird" He said while approaching her and pinching her cheeks. May couldn't stop smiling. "I know" she said while fighting off Gary's hand from pinching her cheeks any further.

After that heartfelt moment, Gary and May continued to walk to school. " April!" A voice called from behind. May knew this voice to well, and yelled " What do you want Grasshead?" Indeed the person who called out was Drew, and he was wearing a purple leather jacket and teal pants Drew caught up to them and said "Nothing, I just wanted to beat you to getting school first!" May was caught off guard and grabbed Gary's hand " Oh no you don't!" May exclaimed while running." Gary, run faster!" Gary followed May's order while holding May's hand.

"You're a girl?" a young six year old Gary asked. A six year old May nodded."My name is May" They were sitting on May's front yard nearby a tire swing. "Girls have cooties!" Gary yelled and proceeded to go on the swing. May got annoyed very quickly and yelled " I don't have cooties!" She stomped around the lawn and then she pushed Gary harshly on the swing. " Hey!" He exclaimed " I'm trying to swing here!" "It's my swing!" May yelled and pushed Gary off the swing.

Gary ended up on the floor and May was laughing her butt off. "I think we're going to get along just fine" May said while putting her hand in front of Gary. Gary accepted this hand gesture and smiled "Yeah i think so too".

When elementary school started Gary was friends with the boys and often played tag and kickball together. But he never forgot about taking May home because May was often a shy girl. She liked to play games that they boys mainly liked to play. But Most of the time the boys rejected her or shrugged her off. But Gary at least wanted to take her home because he wasn't a meanie. But Gary thought she was fine with this and Gary continued to play with those boys.

When they started middle school together, Gary hoped to get the boys to be interested in playing soccer with May. They were willing to give her a try and Gary was excited.

This is great, Gary thought. Already on the first day school, things seemed to be going great. But towards the end of the day, Gary couldn't find May anywhere. "May!" Gary exclaimed "Where are you?" Gary was stumped and he lost hope, until he met a boy who had green hair that stood out like a bush. "I'm looking for a girl, she has brown hair and she usually wears a bow" Gary described May's appearance. "I'm looking for a janitor to give me some keys" Drew said "I heard someone crying over there in this one classroom". They ran to the faculty's office and got the keys and opened the door to reveal a small May crying.

Gary hugged her and he hugged her so tightly. From that day forth, Gary promised to always protect May. He was able to get May into sports and in turn she made some friends from the team. He never mistook May's feelings as anything but a sister. But he will cut off anyone who makes her sad ever gain.

Gary Oak wanted to be the best protector for May because he's Gary mother freaking Oak.

"Drew, I hope you slip!" May yelled while running with Gary. Gary was exhausted "May be careful, we might slip and fall!"

"You're just a weenie!" May exclaimed while running over the piles of snow.

" And You're competitive" Gary said while trying to catch up.

May was annoyed with her bestie until her phone began to vibrate. Someone was calling and she answered "Hello?"

"June, I'm already at the school entrance!" Drew called over the phone.

Indeed he was already at the school entrance, The school entrance was a black gate that was open halfway for students to enter. Drew grinned " I don't see you here"

May hung up on Drew and she was annoyed. They were two streets away from school.

May whined"Gary you run too slow!". She left go of Gary's hand.

"I run pretty decent" Gary scoffed at May's comment. "Well I'm going to head to the library"

May waved goodbye to Gary. "Say Hi to your girlfriend for me!" May yelled while Gary walked away.

"She's not my girlfriend!" Gary exclaimed in defense.

May rolled her eyes and went to go walk to her locker.

"Hey July, don't leave me behind" Drew said while running towards her direction.

"Oh sorry dear, I thought the snow buried you for the last two minutes " May said sarcastically.

Drew punched her shoulder lightly. "Ow!" May said while rubbing her shoulder. Drew was concerned for two seconds until May punched his shoulder. "Gotcha" she said while smirking.

Drew blushed and turned away from May " Whatever August, let's just go to class"

May walked alongside him and they walked to class, both with busted shoulders.
