Saitama gets serious
Chapter 5
The kidnapping attempt
Saitamas apartment
"Mast…, Mister Saitama!"
Genos is in front of Saitamas door, standing at attention. After a brief moment the door opens a tiny crack. "You again? What are you doing here? I said I don't want a disciple," Saitama utters to the uninvited guest.
"Please hear me out, I won't take up a lot of your precious time," Genos pleads. "I need to find and vanquish a terrible cyborg who destroyed my life. To achieve this, I must get stronger at all costs. I need guidance from someone as strong as you."
Saitama is silent for a moment. "Oh, for fuck's sake!" Saitama says. He opens the door completely, still dressed in his superhero costume. "What was your name again?" he asks the cyborg.
"It is Genos!", he says as if by command. Another moment passes in silence.
"Genos."
"Yes!" Genos almost screams out of his mechanical lungs.
Saitama takes a deep breath. "No promises of success, but I'll try to teach you what I did to become this strong." Saitama gets focused and his face becomes brutally serious. "But it won't be easy. I hope you can handle it."
"YES MASTER!" he shouts sincerely.
Suddenly, Genos receives a warning from his sensors. "Master, I detect something approaching at high speed." He makes himself ready to charge.
Saitama turns around as he hears a loud noise out of his apartment.
"My name is Kamakyuri and I'm here to bring you to my maker!" In the demolished living room stands a disproportional human-like praying mantis. He looks around the destroyed room. "I could feel him here just a moment ago. Where is he?"
"I'm right here!" Before the monster could react, a red glove flies towards his face, which explodes in a mess of green goo.
"Oh, that's just perfect!" Saitama sighs.
Genos rushes into the room. "Master, are you okay?"
"You tell me! This thing just fucked up my ceiling!" He looks at the rubble that is scattered over the floor of his living room. "This will cost me a fortune to repair."
"There are more outside. We should deal with them, before they do more damage to your property." Genos opens the door to the balcony. "Master, let me handle the…" Before Genos can react, two human-sized Monsters are already stuck headfirst in the ground, Saitama next to them. "That's for my ceiling!" Saitama says.
"How was he able to get down here that fast?" Genos wonders. "My sensors tell me more enemies are in close proximity."
"I don't see any other guys," Saitama responds. "Wait, there is something on my leg." He feels a strong push downwards, but before he sinks into the earth, he shakes off the thing with a powerful kick, which sends the tiny monster flying into the next building, splattering his blood across the wall.
"Was that a mole?" Saitama asks.
"It seems like one. Well, the leftovers at least," Genos noticed.
A big explosion at the end of the street interrupts the two, as a huge figure steps out of the smoke.
"I detect a high level of energy. Are you a cyborg too?" The muscled juggernaut comes closer. His voice has a threatening dark tone.
"Master, please let me finish him off." Genos pleads.
"Yeah, go on. Just don't take too long."
"Of course."
With that, Genos charges the enemy cyborg right away.
"Fine, and what should I do now? Pretty boring here," Saitama asks himself.
"You should surrender, pushover." A large clawed hand lies on his head. "Before you get hurt. You killed Ground Dragon, impressive. For his size he was strong. But this party is over." The monster is a human-shaped lion, with a beautiful big mane.
Saitama doesn't move a muscle and is unsettling calm. "You better put your hand down from my head right now, before this is getting ugly."
The monster laughs. "GA HA HA HA HA HA! I don't think you understand your situation. I am the Beast King. I'm superior in any way possible compared to you humans! The only reason you live is, that my maker wants you alive, nothing more."
A slight smile widens on Saitamas face. "Fair enough, but don't say I didn't give you a fair change."
The Beast King can't react fast enough, to prevent Saitama from grabbing his right arm. A swift effortless move Saitamas bends the monster's arm in a 90-degree angle.
He screams in terror as he understands what happened. The adrenaline rushes through his body, when he sees his deformed arm, mangled by the little human.
"I think it's time you apologize to me for today, don't you think?" Saitamas voice is full of anger. He is pissed off.
"I am the Beast King. I will punish you for my arm! And I won't apologize to a filthy human!"
The monster slashes like a wild animal with his left hand through the air, desperately trying to hit Saitama, who dodges attack after attack without a sweat. In the Beast King's rage, he kills the two monsters, who achieved to get out of their holes, just before they get sliced to pieces.
"You won't get away! LION SLASH: MEREOR POWER SHOWER!" His attacks are getting faster and faster, his claws cutting through nearby buildings like a hot knife through butter. "You won't get away!"
"Oh, I don't think so!" Saitama closes in for the kill, in front of the Beast King he clenches his fist. "CONSECUTIVE NORMAL PUNCHES!" Within seconds, the monster's body is punctured in hundreds of lethal punches, shredding his upper half into pieces. The remaining corpse falls lifeless to the ground.
"He wouldn't listen."
Saitama looks for his new apprentice, seeing him at the of the street, standing next to his defeated opponent, revealing a gorilla under the cyborg's fallen off helmet who's sitting on a wall. Genos holds his hand threatening over the cyborg, ready to incinerate him at any second. "Answer my questions or die. You choose."
"You are the one who will die, fool! I am the house of evolution's third strongest. You will never beat the Beast King! He is the second strongest! He will destroy you!" the gorilla spits out in a dark mechanical voice.
"I'm afraid he isn't coming to the rescue any time soon," Saitama points to the bottom half of the Beast King, lying on the street in a pool of blood. "Here, a souvenir from our first encounter." He throws one of the monster's eyes to the sitting gorilla. Saitama smirks.
As the cyborg looks down at the eye, lying on his lap, his demeanor changes quickly. Suddenly he seems to be far more cooperative. "Um… I'm really sorry about all that. I'll tell you everything, just don't kill me please," he says quite terrified.
"You can speak normal?" Saitama asks.
"I just wanted to sound cool and mysterious, my bad ha ha," he laughs awkwardly.
"So, start talking!"
"Ah yeah, long ago there was a young, genius schienti…" he starts.
Saitama stops him right there. "I sense a long, boring back story! Cut it! Say it in 20 words or less. My patience is wearing thin."
The gorilla is getting nervous. "S-Sorry… in other words…our boss is interested in your body."
"Fucking creep."
"I don't think it is meant that way, Master," Genos says calm. "He plans to use your superhuman physiology for his research in evolution. If we let him go, he will send more assassins. We can't allow them to run free, so next time, we must initiate the attack!"
"You're right, let's go Genos!" Saitama commands as he starts walking.
"What! Right now, Master?"
"Yeah. Tomorrow is bargain's day at the supermarket, so better get this over with as fast as possible."
As Saitama walks past the Beast Kings corpse, he notices a shadow flying over the demolished place.
"What happened here? This is such a shit hole." A high feminine voice sounds over his head. "Hey Baldie, are you even listening? I asked you a question!"
Saitama lowers his head and touches his forehead. "I completely forgot that I invited her for today. This day is getting better and better by the minute." She floats down right in front of him. "Hey Tatmu… Taki…, you actually came… That's great!" He puts on a slight smile, trying his best to not appear annoyed by her presence.
"I said I would come by, so of course I pay you a visit Idiot." She is seemingly annoyed as well, placing her right hand on her waist.
"Wow, charming as ever," Saitama thinks. "Yeah… sure. Umm… you know I think we must adjourn this. As you see, something came up." He points out the destruction on the street.
"What means we?" she asks.
"Master, you know the S-Class Rank 2 hero, the "Tornado of Terror"? Genos walks to Saitamas site.
"We met yesterday casually," he states.
"You have a student Baldie? That's a surprise." Tatsumaki is baffled. He didn't seem like the teacher type during their first encounter. Especially in his laughable costume."
Saitama sighs. "It seems that way, I guess." He looks to his new obtained apprentice for a moment, before meeting Tatsumakis eyes again. "But regardless, we have to go now. Take care." He gives her a pat on the shoulder, as he walks past her.
"Did I just get fobbed off like a little child?" Tatsumaki cuts off Saitama again, flying straight in front of him. She steps closer. "Where do you think you're going?"
"We're going to the people who attacked us, they called "the house of evolution" … I think," says a more and more frustrated Saitama.
"What do they even want from you? It's not like you a very interesting person after all."
Saitama just shakes his head. "I don't know, Gorilla boy back there says they want my body, probably for their sick experiments. All I know is, that they don't make their experiments for much longer as soon as I'm done with them."
"Then I think I have no other choice then to accompany you," she utters snooty.
"Thank you, but I'm sure we can handle ourselves."
"I'm free anyway, and I'm bored to death. Additionally, someone has to report that to the HA eventually, so I can kill two birds with one stone," she explains to him.
Saitama closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "Well, whatever, you can come with us. Just let's get this over with, shall we?" He stares back to Genos. "Genos, you lead the way. I have no fucking idea where this thing is, perhaps you should try to locate it with your sensors."
"Of course." A few moments pass by. "There is a huge, modern science laboratory in a mountain range, near the woods. That must be their hideout."
Tatsumaki lifts from the ground, enveloped in her green Esper powers. "What are we waiting for? Try to keep up." She shoots up in the sky and flies forward.
Saitama turns to his apprentice. "Hey Genos, I have a question for you?"
"Yes Master!"
"Do you know what her real name is?"
"Yes, it is Tatsumaki!"
"Ah yes, now I remember. Thank you. Okay, let's do this." As Saitama starts to run, he has one more thought for himself. "I should really memorize her name in the future."
