When he got to the Enterprise he saw only Captain and one other person there this time.
But this time his mom was there.
He ran over to her and gave her a hug.
"I've missed you." he said.
"I missed you to. I'm so happy you're back." she said.
Then they let go and Wesley looked at Picard.
"Captain. It's nice to see you again."
"It's good to see you to Mr. Crusher. Come to my office and we can discuss what you want to do." Picard said.
So he followed him to his quarters.
While Wesley and Picard were in his quarters Beverly was visiting Deanna.
"Hello Deanna."
"Hello Beverly." she said.
"What's wrong?"
"I've just been thinking about Will. I know he rejected the offer again but I'm wondering if he'll agree next time. Then we'll have to leave or break up. I'd rather stay here to be honest."
"You know what, I have something that will cheer you up."
"What?"
"Come on."
So Beverly and Deanna walked to Picard's quarters.
Back in Picard's quarters,
"Welcome back Mr. Crusher." he said sitting down across from Wesley.
"Thank you sir." Wesley said sitting down to.
"I appreciate you coming back. I had actually thought about writing to you and asking you to come back earlier a few times. Beg you if I must."
"Well I'm back to stay and will try to fix up what she did wrong again."
Then Captain handed him his Enterprise uniform but to his surprise a yellow one and not red.
"Sir?"
"Yes?"
"Why is it yellow like Geordi, Worf and Data?"
"Red uniform is for your first year. And technically this is your second year." he said smiling.
"Oh. I thought I would have to graduate the Academy."
"Not in your case."
He nodded and then Picard left the room while Wesley got changed.
When he was done he looked at himself in the mirror and smiled. Then he wiped up his now old combadge.
"It feels good to be back already." he said.
Then he heard the door go off.
"Come." he said.
'Man it feels weird to say that again.' he thought.
Then Picard came back and they sat down again.
"You sure you wish to do this?" Picard asked.
"Yes sir. I've missed being here." Wesley said.
"Alright, welcome back Ensign Crusher."
Wesley smiled hearing that name again.
Back with Beverly and Deanna,
When they got right outside Picard's quarters they heard something.
"You sure you wish to do this?"
"Yes sir. I've missed being here." Wesley said.
"Alright, welcome back Ensign Crusher."
Wesley smiled hearing that name again.
Back with Beverly and Deanna,
When they got right outside Picard's quarters they heard something.
"You sure you wish to do this?"
"Yes sir. I've missed being here."
"Alright, welcome back Ensign Crusher."
Then the door opened and Beverly and Deanna were right outside.
"Wesley?" Deanna said.
"Hi Counselor Troi. It's been three weeks hasn't it?" Wesley said smiling.
She looked at him and then recognized what he was wearing.
"You came back to help again but to stay this time didn't you? And it being your second time being an ensign you have your yellow and black uniform on now."
"Yeah, it was nice to travel for a while but after the first year it didn't feel as good as it did in the beginning. And after hearing about the current ensign for the past year and going back here then back where I was I started to think about it. So I thought about it and decided to come back for good this time."
"Well, welcome back. Ensign Crusher still?"
He smiled at that. He was fine with being Ensign Crusher again but had thought about going back to the Academy to finish his last year and become an officer. But for right now he needs to fix something up and talk to them about it later.
"Yes."
"Alright, let's get you to Main Bridge and back to your spot." Picard said smiling.
He had missed Wesley a lot.
While they headed to the Main Bridge people were shocked at seeing Wesley back in what he wore before he went to the Academy. Only yellow and black.
They could understand visiting to help as usual but was he staying?
When they got there Picard cleared his throat and caught everyone's attention.
"I have someone with me and is taking back his job here."
Everyone in the room was confused.
'Taking back his job?' they all thought.
"Who is it Captain?" Riker asked.
Then Wesley came and everyone was surprised.
"Wesley?!" they all said.
"Yeah, I've missed you all even though it's only been three weeks and Captain said that the ensign still wasn't doing so well. Even though I come and help at least three times a month or write down the answer to the problem a few times a week. So as you can see with my Starfleet uniform on I'm back to stay." he said.
"What do you mean? Even though you need to come I'm still doing good!" the current ensign said.
Wesley looked at her and then walked over to where she sat and looked at it.
"You're doing everything wrong." he said.
"What?"
He sighed and waved his hand.
"Up."
She did as told and Wesley sat down and looked at what he needed to do.
They all stood there and watched him. The others were smiling a little now that he's back. While he was gone the people that were jealous of his talent with engineering were relieved and now felt guilty about what they said and thought about him.
Wesley and Geordi may be friends but Geordi would still be a little jealous of him at times. Not often though.
"There. All set Captain."
"Excellent Ensign Crusher." Picard said then looked at the other ensign. "I'm sorry but you don't do it as well as we needed. I'll take you back home."
She nodded and followed him.
"That actually felt, good. It felt good to do that again." Wesley said smiling while he was sitting.
"Good. Now let's get to work." Picard said smiling.
"Yes sir!" Wesley said smiling to.
"Alright then. Ensign Crusher, Warp 5. Engage."
"Yes sir." he said still smiling.
