Monday September 11th, 1972 at the Brady home—

After Mike sat down and was greeted by Alice, she put the food on the table as the kids walked in.

"Morning kids," Mike said happily.

"Morning Dad." The kids replied as they sat around the table and Alice put breakfast in front of them.

"Where's mom?" Cindy asked after she took a bite.

"Your mother is getting dressed, she is going out to breakfast with Ellie," Mike said as Alice went in the laundry room to do laundry while Carol greeted the kids, Mike and sat next to him.

"Time for everyone to go to school," Carol said as the kids got their lunches and walked out to the front door.

"Greg," Mike called out to him as Carol sat down and Greg turned towards Mike.

"Yeah, Dad?"

"Remember, keep up your schoolwork and you can keep playing, okay?"

"Sure, Dad," Greg said then he turned towards the door and left for school.

"Mike, I'm still not sure I want Greg playing," Carol said with worry.

"Honey, we can't tell him no this year and plus, he might want to play next year, then what? Also, Peter and Bobby will be going to Westdale one day and they might want to play football. We need to be fair to them," Mike said then looked at his watch.

"I know," Carol said with worry.

"I gotta get to work, I hope you have a good breakfast with Ellie." Mike kissed Carol then left.

Carol helped Alice with the dishes then left for breakfast.

Friday, September 15th at Westdale—

Greg sat in English class when he noticed a girl walk in and sat next to him, she had been changing her seat each day and she was very quiet.

"Hi, what's your name?" The black haired, blue eyed girl asked as she looked at him and a few guys in the class were staring at her.

"Hi, I'm Greg, Greg Brady," Greg said with a smile then asked, "What's your name?"

"Sue, Sue Gage," She said then continued, "I recognize your name, are you playing football this year?"

"Yes," Greg said as Sue looked at him disgusted.

"Uh, football? Really? I bet you are airheaded after you score a touchdown! My brother is a better football player than you!" Sue said as a few classmates giggled.

"Hey, I don't play any sports, I want to get to know you," Roger Marion said.

The teacher walked in, put his briefcase on the desk and faced the class.

"Forget it!" Sue said angrily.

A few students murmured as they wondered what her issue was.

"Alright, that's enough," the teacher said as he walked around the desk and leaned against it while speaking to the students.

"Who asked you?" Sue shouted.

"I'm the teacher and if you disrupt this class, I will put in in detention, by the way, why do you keep changing seats? I have the names of students by row and you are messing me up," he told her then asked.

"Because I feel like it," Sue said as she crossed her arms.

"Then unless you sit in your assigned seat, you are absent and we have been through this, why are you constantly changing seats?"

"Because this seat was empty," Sue said as the students giggled.

"There are some seats vacant but that does not excuse you for being in the wrong seat," the teacher said.

"Fine!" Sue said as she got up, walked over to her desk and sat down, "Feel better?"

"Yes," the teacher said as he began his lesson.

At the end of the school day at Fillmore Jr. High—

Jan walked towards the street when Peter called out to her.

"Jan! Wait up," Peter yelled as he ran towards her on the sidewalk.

"You walking home with me?" Jan asked.

"Yeah, I heard they are going to do a play on Anne Frank. Are you going to be in it?" Peter said then asked as they walked home.

"No, but I would like to go when the play is on, that sounds like a very interesting story."

"Yeah. I can't wait to see Greg play tonight," Peter said.

"I can't either, I like going to high school games."

"Wait until I get there, I'm gonna be the big man on campus, bigger than Greg."

Jan scoffed, "Oh, is that right? Marcia will be there to keep an eye on you." Jan smirked.

"She can't tell me what to do."

"No, but I bet she will tell on you." Peter stopped and watched his sister walk towards the house then Jan stopped as she realized Peter stopped.

"What?" she turned as Peter walked towards her.

"Why would she tell on me?"

"I don't know." They both started walking again.

"If she doesn't know, then she can't tell." Peter said as they both laughed.

At the Westdale football stadium in the 3rd quarter—

Carol, Mike, Marcia, Jan, and Peter were in the stands along with the fans watching Westdale play Ben Franklin High.

The offense was at the 1-yard line, Greg was the running back and Sue's brother, Bart Gage was also the running back lined up with Greg. The football was hiked, quarterback took it then tossed the ball to Bart who ran towards the right side of the 1-yard line but fumbled it when he got hit and Greg happened to be behind him, picked it up and ran the left side for the score.

The crowd cheered the score while Greg and Bart went to the sidelines and got patted on the back for their efforts.

It was now 3 minutes before the end of the third quarter, the offense on their own 30-yard line after the TD score play by the opponents. The ball was hiked, Greg ran to the left past the line of scrimmage and the quarterback threw to him and Greg caught it then ran a few yards when he was hit hard, fell on top of the football he held.

Carol cringed when she saw that then held Mike's arm as she looked away, "Oh, Mike, that was a bad hit. Is he up yet?"

"Not yet," Mike said as he quietly hoped Greg would get up while Peter and the girls were worried as well while the trainers jogged out to Greg.

Greg laid on his stomach as the football was right beside him, trying to catch his breath as it seemed like it took forever for him to finally get a breath, the trainers reached him.

"Greg, are you okay?" he asked.

Greg gasped, "Yeah, just lost my breath, I landed on the football," Greg sat up as he took a few deep breaths.

"He's finally walking to the sidelines, you can look now," Mike said as Carol looked towards the field and saw him walking near the sideline and she let go of Mike's arm.

30 seconds to go in the fourth quarter—

The game was now tied after both teams scored on each other and Westdale has the football in their own 30-yard line. The ball was hiked, Bart took the handoff and ran twenty yards then when he got hit, he fumbled again but luckily, he was able to recover it. They ran to the line, the quarterback spiked the ball, stopping the clock then Bart left the field and Greg went back in. The players were at the line, ball was snapped, the quarterback dropped back, Greg ran towards the sidelines to the opponent's 40-yard line, saw the ball being thrown, caught it, then ran out of bounds stopping the clock. Bart came back on the field; the tight end left the field as the number of players remained at 11 for the offense as they huddled for the next play.

"We got 10 seconds left, get to the endzone and I will throw it," the quarterback said then looked at Bart, "Gage, no fumbling!" The players clapped once as they broke the huddle and went to the line.

The ball was hiked, the quarterback dropped back, the receivers, and running backs ran to the end zone, the quarterback ran towards the sideline as he was being chased, he saw the receivers open then threw the ball before running out of bounds.

With no time left on the clock, Greg Brady caught the ball at the one-yard line, ducked between two defensive players scoring the touchdown. The Bradys cheered along with the fans and after the extra point was made, the game was over.
