He got up, went to the huddle, the quarterback called the play then the players clapped once when they all said, "Break!"

They got to the line, the quarterback dropped back, Greg saw a lineman heading for his quarterback and ran to him and blocked him but he felt pain as the lineman ran over him but stopped chasing him when the quarterback threw an interception. The next time Westdale got the ball, the quarterback gave Greg the ball, he ran for ten yards then got tackled and fumbled the football giving it to Lincoln. The crowd cheered the play as they were ahead 30-21, Greg was not happy with his fumble.

After Westdale lost, the team went back to Westdale to drop off their uniforms and to get to their cars or get rides, where Greg's friend waited for him.

Fred drove Greg home as Greg spoke, "Man, that was a terrible game and I was awful." Greg tried to hide his hurt from the pain in his shoulder but Fred noticed.

"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"

"No, I didn't. Just upset about the fumble and how bad we played." They arrived at the house that still had a light on.

Greg got out of the car and closed the door, "See you, Monday," Fred said as Greg waved and Fred drove home.

Greg went inside to see the light still on in the living room as he saw Mike and Carol in their chairs watching the news.

"Hi," Greg said as he locked the door.

"Hi Greg, how was the game?" Carol asked as Greg walked down the steps and stood near the table.

"Awful, I don't want to talk about it," Greg said then they laughed, "good night." He went upstairs as they continued to watch the news.

Carol got up, "I'm going to go read in bed."

"Okay, I want to see the sports then I will head up."

Carol stood up, went upstairs to her room while Mike watched the sports then he turned off the TV, stood up, went upstairs and turned off the lights and went to his room.

Monday October 16th at Fillmore Jr. High in Jan's class—

Over the weekend Jan had slept better as she talked to some classmates who heard the regular teacher was back. Mrs. Wyatt walked in, as everyone welcomed her back from her medical leave of absence.

"Morning class, it's nice to be back," she said then continued, "I heard from the sub and if you are still having issues, please let me know."

"Yeah, Jan was a brat when you were gone," one of the students said.

"I won't be a brat," Jan said with a smile as she gotten a few good nights sleep.

"You weren't a brat before my surgery and I trust you won't be one now," Mrs. Wyatt said as she stood in front of her desk.

Westdale High in English class—

Greg's shoulder was still hurting him as Roger walked in and noticed he was in pain. Sue walked in, then sat in her assigned seat.

She stood up after a few moments then shouted, "There he is, the fumbler and loser!"

Greg looked at her," haha." In a monotone voice.

"Wait a minute, your brother has been fumbling a lot more than Greg, what's your problem Sue?" Roger asked as the teacher walked in.

"My brother is better than Greg!" Sue yelled as the teacher watched.

"Not with his fumbling he's not," Roger said. The class giggled as Sue sat down and faced the front of the room, seething.

"Alright! That is enough, no more of this nonsense," the teacher said.

After school Greg met up with Roger, Fred and a few other friends as they could tell their friend was hurt as he looked like he was in pain and didn't get much sleep.

"I've been sleeping wrong for some reason but I'm fine." Roger felt Greg was lying but he didn't say anything.

At the Brady home just before supper—

Greg got home from practice, he changed then rubbed some pain cream on his shoulder then took some aspirin since it was hurting again.

During supper, they ate and talked as Mike noticed Greg seemed to have trouble cutting his porkchops but didn't say anything as he figured it was just soreness from practice.

Wednesday October 18th at Westdale during lunch-

Marcia had finished lunch when she saw two of Greg's friends and approached them as they noticed her walking to them.

"Hi Marcia," Fred and Roger said.

"Hi, do you guys know for sure if Greg hurt himself or did someone hurt him?" she looked at them with concern.

Fred looked down then looked at her as he sighed, "I think he got hurt during Friday's game. I've been telling him to go tell his dad so he can take him to the doctor but Greg said he will be fine.

"I've been telling him the same thing Fred has and I hear that he hasn't done well in practice the last two days either." Roger started.

"He hasn't?"'

"He's been fumbling the football still and some of the guys on the team suspect he's hurt," Roger said.

"Did the coach talk to him?" Marcia said.

"Yes. He said he's fine," Fred said.

Marcia looked at the guys shocked. "I don't know what to do, I've already asked him and he says he is fine."

Mark who approached the three was a friend of Fred's. "What time do your parents get up?" then Roger, Marcia and Fred looked at him funny.

"They are up no later than 6:30," Marcia said then asked, "Why?"

"I was going to see if I could pick up Greg tomorrow and didn't want to wake them up," Mark said then walked away. Marcia looked curiously but Fred and Roger had their suspicions.

"That was just weird," Marcia said then the bell rang as everyone said their goodbyes and headed to class.

At the Brady home after school—

Mike came home through the front door, passing through the two adjoining rooms then went in the kitchen where Alice and Carol sitting on the chairs.

"Hi," Carol turned towards Mike who leaned down to kiss her.

"Hi, honey, how was your day?" Carol looked at him as he sat down.

"It was good. I was thinking, let's go out of town for a few days," Mike said then asked.

"I would love to do that, where are we going?" Carol asked.

"I'm not sure yet, but I will let you know," They laughed as Mike stood up, left the kitchen to go upstairs and change.

The kids then came home through the family room and saw Carol in the kitchen and said hi.

"How was school today?" Carol asked as Alice took some pots out.

"It was great!" Peter said then showed some tickets, "I got some tickets for Saturday's play about Anne Frank."

"I want to go to that play," Jan said as she took the ticket from Peter.

"Hey, can I go too?" Marcia asked.

"Here," Peter gave her the ticket then continued, "I got extra tickets in case the others want to go as well." He gave the rest of the tickets to Carol then he, Marcia, Cindy and Jan went upstairs.

"Mom, can I spend the night at Joe's house? His mom is supposed to call," Bobby asked then said.

"I will need to speak to your father first even if she does call, okay?" Carol said as Bobby went upstairs.

The phone rang then it stopped and Mike said from the den, "I got it!" He closed the shutters.

Carol sighed as she sat back, "I guess we won't be going out of town."

"I guess not," Alice said as Carol noticed Greg walked in through the front door.

"Hi Greg!" Carol said as Greg waved while he walked towards the stairs. She continued, "What is going on with him?"

"I don't know, Mrs. Brady. I'm sure you and Mr. Brady has asked him what is going on, right?"

"Yes, we have," Carol said as she shook her head.
