The Accident
"Michael! Get up!" KITT was standing over Michael's bed.
"It's 6 in the morning, KITT, go away..."
"No. Get up."
"Get out of my room."
"Get out of your bed."
"Get out of the house."
"You asked for it."
"What are you doing? KITT, no!"
KITT decided to flop onto the bed. Of course, it was an expensive bed so it was strong, thank god.
"KITT, get out of the bed!"
"I warned you. Now, you can either stay in the bed and complain that I'm in it, or you can get out of bed and get ready."
Michael suddenly had an idea. "Okay, I'll get up, but you stay in the bed."
"Why?"
"Because you'll find that it's comfortable." Michael got up and walked out of the room. KITT felt confused before actually finding the bed to be comfortable. Then he heard Michael walk back in, and then he saw a flash.
"What the?" KITT turned to see Michael holding a camera. "Sorry, pal, I just couldn't resist."
"Resist this!" KITT shot up from his bed and chased Michael. Unfortunately, he went down the stairs very slowly for obvious reasons. He started looking around the house. "I will find you, Michael." He couldn't find him in the house, so he went outside and looked in the stables. He searched with no luck, until…
"BOO!" Michale scared him from behind.
"AAAAH!" KITT bucked his back legs straight into one of Michael's ribs!
"AAAAAH!GOD!" Michael fell over, groaning from the pain.
"Michael! Oh, God, Michael! I'm so sorry! Oh good lord! You're hurt!"
"Get…...help!..."
KITT ran inside and got Devon, who called 911. The paramedics arrived minutes later and took him away.
2 weeks later, Michael was taken home on strict bed rest, and who was mothering him?
"Michael, stop moving! Now please just relax!"
"It's hard to relax with a horse hovering over me!"
"I hover because I care!"
"Some care!"
"What was that?"
"You heard me."
"Goodness, you two bicker like mother and child." Bonnie walked in. The looks Michael and KITT shot at her could only be described as hurt.
"Mother and child? Honestly, Bonnie, I cannot even comprehend that comparison."
"What he said."
"Still, it's kind of funny. KITT, leave Michael alone for a while. I want to talk to you."
"Okay?" Michael and Bonnie went outside.
"You feel guilty, don't you?"
"What?"
"You feel guilty for accidentally kicking Michael in the rib. It's why you're taking care of him, right?"
"Bonnie, I broke his rib! I had as well have kicked him a hundred yards!"
"KITT, you didn't do it on purpose!"
"But I still did it! I hurt him! What if I had hurt you, or Devon, or anyone else!?" You could see tears in KITT's eyes.
"KITT….." Bonnie took a rag and dabbed his eyes. "It's going to be fine. You don't have to cry..."
"Would you rather me be angry and not care?"
"No….but you should know everything is fine."
"I know….but...I feel so...so bad.."
"Here….lie down..."
KITT lied down on the ground. Bonnie sat down and put his head in her lap, then stroked his head.
"Feel better?"
"Bonnie….that feels so good.."
"My mother did this for me when I was young…."
"I could just fall asleep…."
"Why don't you?" As soon as Bonnie said that, KITT was out like a light. The next day, he was still taking care of Michael but didn't feel obligated to do it out of guilt. He couldn't wait to ride again.
