The Secret is out
Chapter 2: The Discovery

Will I just want to say a few things before I start this chapter. First I want to wish everyone and their families a Happy Thanksgiving. Second I want to thank the nice and wonderful people who reviewed.
1} Comet Moon: WOW! My first fan, wow, I have never had a fan before. That is so cool thank you so much. Lita will be playing a big part of this story. It won't happen until the 4th chapter though I just hope you like what happens when it happens.

This story is set in the first season for a good reason. Which you will just have to wait and see. It will also focus more on family then on fighting. Since I'm not good at fighting scenes. Thump... Serena dropped her books and stared at her parents. She wasn't sure she had heard right there was no way her parents could have found out.
"W.w.w...hat did you say? "Serena stuttered taking a step back.
"You heard me very clearly Serena we know everything. We know about the battles. We know about the sneaking in and out of your room at all hours." Irene looked at her daughter and walked to her. Putting an arm around her she walked her to the sofa and sat her down. She motioned to her husband to get their daughter some water. She rubbed her daughters back surprised that her daughter was handling everything better than she thought. She was certain that she would have either laughed out loud or would have broken down crying. Ken returned with the water and handed it to his wife.
"Here drink this honey." She pressed the glass to Serena's lips. After Serena had her fill she laid back and closed her eyes and let out a sigh.
"How?" was all she asked wanting to know what she did wrong for this secret to have been found out? She knew that once Luna and Rei found out that they were sure to give her the lecture of a lifetime. Then she shot up at remembering her loyal cat and that her mother wanted her to get Luna.
"Did Luna tell you?" Serena asked as her mother let out a sigh she knew it was true, but why would Luna have told them and not let her that she had.
"Yes, she did, but you have to understand that she had no choice honey." Her father said as he sat next to her.
"He's right Serena let us tell you what happened first ok. Then you will see that she did not tell us willing ok." her mother said.
Flashback:
The loud crash of thunder woke her up follow by the sudden urge to check on her children. She got up and smiled as she saw her sleep. He could sleep through anything just like their daughter and son. After putting on her robe and slippers she walked to her son's room and smiled. There was Sammy sound asleep with a flashlight and a comic book. Turning off the flashlight and removing the comic book she tucked him back in kissing him good night. Shaking her head with a smile she went into her daughter's room and shivered. She walked in and noticed that the window was wide open. She looked at her daughter's bed and noticed that she was missing. Panic filled as she rushed out of the room and ran down the hall hoping she was in the bathroom. Not finding her there either she ran back to her room to wake up her husband.
"Ken.Ken!!!" she whispered loudly as she started to shake him awake. Her husband woke up and reached for his glasses.
"W...w.w.what's wrong are the kids ok?" he asked turning the lamp on.
"No, Serena is missing." She said as she dragged her husband to Serena's room. Once there she turned the lights on so that he could see for himself.
"Did you check the bathroom? Maybe she isn't felling well." He said trying to stay calm for the both of them. He knew that his wife was worried.
"Of course I did right before I woke you up. I knew something was wrong that's why I went to check on the kids. I came in here and her window was opened. Oh Ken do you think she ran away. I mean I have been hard on her about her grades." Irene asked as she began to cry. Ken rushed over to her and held her trying to comfort her.
"I'm sure she is ok. She knows you want what's best for her. I bet you anything she is downstairs eating right know." He said hoping it was true.
"Your right I never checked downstairs. I just saw the bed empty and assumed the worst." She said as she broke away and ran downstairs. Ken looked around the room before following his wife hoping to find a clue on where she might be. Hearing his wife cry from downstairs he rushed to her. All the lights were on as Irene was searching the downstairs.
"Her coat is still here. It doesn't make sense Ken Serena hates storms where could she be. I've looked everywhere where could my baby be." Irene cried as she fell to the floor crying and not knowing what to do. Ken just stood there for a second not knowing what to do either before going to Irene and held her close.
"I guess we'll have to call her friends and the police. Maybe one of her friends knows what happened you know how kids are their friends know more than the parents." Ken said as held his wife close. He could feel Irene's tears and prayed that their daughter was safe.
"Why don't you go upstairs and get her address book. I'm going to get a picture for the police." He whispered and closed eyes trying to be strong for the both of them. Irene nodded and pulled away, but not before holding him close and kissing him.
"I love you." she whispered before slowly walking up the stairs. Ken watched her walk up the stairs before walking to the living room. He went to the entertainment center and pulled down the family picture. He traced his daughters smiling face and clutched it close to him and broke down crying.
"Please be safe honey we need you." He whispered
Irene was walking up the stairs crying and praying for their daughter to come home safe.
"Please Serena come home and I won't yell at you anymore I promise." She whispered she was near Serena's room when she heard her daughter's voice.
"Luna I think I'm more tired than I realize I don't remember leaving the lights on. Even my door is open. You don't think mom came to check on me do you." Irene stopped and listened to what was being said. She was confused why her daughter would be talking to the cat.
"It was most likely Sammy Serena checking on you. Ever since he found out he has been protective of you." Luna said in a disapproving voice.
"Yeah I guess your right. You have to admit though Luna he has been good about keeping it a secret. I mean it must be hard for him. I still think we should tell my parents though." Serena said as she closed the door and turned the light off. Irene tip toed closer trying to listen to what her daughter was saying,
"Serena we have been over this before they can't know it could be dangerous if they knew, and even though Sammy does know I am still not happy with it. It only takes on slip." Luna lectured before Serena cut her off
"Before someone from the Negeverse finds out... yes Luna I know, but you don't understand. The biggest secret I have kept from them has been about my grades. You don't know how hard it is to keep lying to them." Serena sighed. Irene was shocked not only was her daughter sneaking out, but her son knew about it and was keeping it to himself. Irene walked quickly downstairs to tell Ken everything she had found out. When she reached the living room she found him sitting on the floor crying holding the picture close. She ran to him and held him this time doing the comforting.
"Its ok Ken she home." She said. Ken pulled back and looked into her eyes and smiled.
"She's home? Is she ok? Where was she? Does she know how scared we were?" He quickly asked. Irene quickly told him everything she had heard upstairs. To say that Ken was shocked was an understatement. He wanted to rush upstairs to wake both of children up and demand answers. His concern and worry was replaced with anger and a demand for answers. Irene had calmed him down and said that she wanted to wait until morning to find out what was going on. That she was just happy that her babies were safe and home.
"Besides I want to talk with Luna. Now that I know that she can talk I am going to get some answers from her." Irene was very upset at the fact that the cat that they had given a home to had been controlling their daughter. As far as she was concerned the cat would have to go. There was no place for her in her house. How dare the cat tell her daughter that she had to keep secrets from them? Serena was correct in the fact that there had never been secrets in the family. Ken could tell from her tone that his wife was angry and almost felt sorry for the cat. As they walked upstairs he couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Irene looked at him puzzled.
"Do you know how weird this sounds? We just found out our daughter missing. Then we find out after going crazy that she is Sailor Moon and that her cat talks. Yet we seem almost calm about it because she is home safe. I must be tired because I'm just happy she is safe, and yet a part of me wants to go in there and forbid her to save the world." Irene giggled the way her husband just summed everything up did sound funny. As they passed their daughter's room the stooped and went inside to make sure she was safe. They went in and found snoring softly clutching her bunny. They bent down to kiss her. Luna looked up at them and was shock at the look they gave her. It was if they were angry and as if they hated her.
End flashback..
"The next morning after you went to school I confronted Luna. I was so angry with her I demanded that she tells me everything. When she refused I told grabbed her by the neck and told her if she didn't talk she would be in the pound so fast." Irene said. Serena was shocked her mother was usually a calm person.
"You have to understand Serena you are our daughter and we would do Anything to protect you and your brother. If it meant getting rid of Luna to keep you safe then we would have." Her father said. Serena looked at her parents and smiled at them.
"Does Sammy know that you know about me?" she asked. Her mother smiled.
"No we felt that as long as Luna kept us up to date on your battles. That we would let you have your brother to confide in. I must say that I am proud of you Serena. Doing what you do with your friends to keep us safe." her father said as he hugged her tight.
"I don't understand though if you were ok with not letting me know that you knew. Then why tell me now?" Serena asked lost.
"Will the thing is Serena we both felt that it was unfair for your friend's parents to be kept from this. That's why we called them this morning and told them everything. In fact they should all be here soon." her mother said. This time Serena did faint.
