Callie woke up that morning, feeling like she had been dreaming. Dreaming of proposals and engangement rings. But a quick look at her finger proved her wrong. This dream was very real. The ring was beautiful, lots of ornaments, with plenty of diamonds. Clearly done by a skilled craftsman. She looked over at her future husband who had a smile on his face where he still slept soundly, her head on his chest. He wore a complementary ring to hers. He told her, it was from the Pirates' treasure on shiloh. He had a courier pick it up for him on Shiloh after he decided to take the plunge and ask her. An ask that he had received positive encouragement from his right hand man, Corso, to go ahead with. If there was one man that wanted what was best for Sonny, It was Corso for sure. Callie smiled as she looked at him. He looked so peaceful with her head on his chest and an arm around her. Callie still wondered what Sonny's issues with General Bleylock were about but he promised her to talk with Corso first. Corso was maybe the better option to ask, to spare Sonny more pain. Callie gently kissed him good morning.

"Sonny, time to wake up!" She teased. Sonny stubbornly kept his eyes closed, it was clear he had no plans to get up just yet.

"How about you make me then? Its early. I want to sleep in for once. That only happens if I am injured. Today, I am gonna take my time." He playfully pointed out. He was not ready to get out of bed yet, challenging her plan. She would have to change strategy.

"How about I seduce you with some coffee?" She asked with a smile. Sonny pretended to slowly wake up. The offer was tempting, but he was going for something more.

"You have to do better than that. How will you get me out of bed? I feel very comfortable right now, with no rush to do anything at all." He asked curiously, raising the hand with his new ring to rub his chin. Callie smirked before she got out of the bed to get her bathrobe. Then, she noticed the changed temperature.

"Who turned down the thermostat? It's cold in here." She said while putting on her slippers. Sonny chuckled and remained under the covers.

"I think I'll stay where it is warm for now. I am still waiting for your move" He concluded and pulled the covers around him. Callie smirked as she opened the blinds. Sonny raised an eyebrow.

"I wonder how long it will take for vultures like Hush Sharky to show up. You should close the blinds, unless you want to make frontline news." He chuckled.

"Will that make you get up?" Callie teased. Sonny shook his head playfully. Nope, that was not the way to get him out of bed, Then Callie thought of something else. Callie started walking toward the bedroom door, and on the way she would pass by the chair where Sonnys bathrobe hang. Sonny remained under the covers, his arms crossed as he saw what Callie was doing.

"You're going to cause the scandal of the day if you do that. There will be consequenses. You dont want those pictures spread" He warned her. Callie blew him a kiss.

"You asked me to get you out of bed, so here it goes." She said and reached for his bathrobe, and pulled it out of reach for him, making ready to make a run with it. Sonny tried to stop her but Callie was faster. His bathrobe was snatched out of reach before he could get to it. Sonny grinned as he pulled the covers around himself and set a foot on the floor.

"Don't think you can stop me that easily Callie. Bathrobe thieves gets a special treatment fitting the crime. This isnt Technoids rules, its the pirates, or more precisely, mine" He warned her. Callie giggled as she ran towards the bathroom with the stolen bathrobe in her hand. Sonny was about to give chase when his transmitter beeped. That stalled things for now. He decided to answer.

"D'Jok! Good morning" He grinned, covering himself with the duvet. D'Jok grinned back.

"That's a first Dad, didnt know you slept in. You're usually up before me. Did Callie wear you out last night?" He teased. Sonny grinned.

"Not at all, we just stayed up late to celebrate." He said. D'Jok looked confused.

"Celebrate what?" He asked. Sonny laughed. Callie came back in and gave Sonny back his robe. Callie then casually placed her hand on Sonny's chest so D'Jok could see the ring. A smile spread on the Striker's face.

"Congratulations you two, this is wonderful news. The pirates just became even more dangerous than they already were." D'Jok did not attempt to hide his tears of joy. Mei joined him, also with tears in her eyes.

"Who knows, next time, there may be a baby on the two seem to move forwards fast" She winked. Sonny laughed.

"We're not in any hurry with that. I am still trying to raise the son I already have" He reminded them. Callie smiled.

"Why are you calling this early?" She asked. Sonny smiled.

"I can guess. You need a babysitter again?" he asked with a smile. D'Jok nodded.

"I'm booked the entire weekend and Mei has contracts to fulfill, We need a sitter for Iris" D'Jok explained. Sonny grinned.

"Mei, I was going to call you about that. Shiloh Security is going to make an add and I want you to be in it." He said.

"Say no more, I'll write it down as a priority." Mei smiled.

"Of course Iris is welcome to stay here for the weekend,This grandfather loves kids" Sonny said.

"Just don't make her a Pirate when we're not looking. I heard pirates are unpredictable persons" D'Jok grinned. Sonny turned to his son.

"You wanted to go public with us being father and son, right? Or did you change your mind?" He asked.

"No, I still want to do it. Before The All Stars match. That would be great, if possible" D'Jok said. Sonny looked at Callie.

"How is your schedule today Callie, can we fit it in today?" He asked. Callie looked at her pad.

"How long do you need for that announcement?" She asked.

"Fifteen minutes should do, to give room for some questions" Sonny said. Callie smiled.

"Can both of you be at the studio before the news at eight?" She asked.

"Sure thing. I'll be there with Iris. She goes with you afterwards DaD" D'Jok said. Sonny smiled.

"Okay, we'll meet at seven-thirty on Arcadia News. Don't be late." He said. As soon as they ended the call, Sonny looked up.

"You may want to shut the blinds now Callie, we got company." He said and quickly raised his arm to avoid Hush Sharky getting any pictures. The cyclops did not care about the rules, it was time to make sure he got it, that the pirates meant business.

"You're trespassing, Sharky. And I have had enough of that" Sonny hissed as he quickly ran to the bathroom and put on his Pirate clothes. As he went out through the basement, Sonny managed to cut Hush Sharky off from escaping.

"This is getting old Sharky. Next time, I will let Corso deal with you, got it?" He said as he held the Cyclops up by the lapel of his jacket.

"I'm a journalist Blackbones, I got rights.I am only doing my job" He tried. Sonny took out his memory eraser.

"You won't publish anything I haven't given my consent to publish. Especially not photoes that was not given permission to" He said. He flashed the eraser and placed Sharky where he could sleep it off before he erased the pictures. With that, Sonny returned to have breakfast with Callie.

At Shiloh Security, Corso received a message from Sonny.

"Bring Keiran to the interrogation room. We'll press him hard." Sonny said. Corso looked at him.

"You said you would keep out of this. I wont let you near him, and you know that." Corso reminded him. Sonny nodded.

"I won't be near him Corso, not directly at least . But I will be behind the one-way mirror. If I have questions, I will send it through your screen. I'll also need to be at Arcadia news at seven-thirty." Sonny informed him. Corso grinned.

"Finally going to tell the Galaxy about you and D'Jok huh?" He asked. Sonny grinned and rubbed his chin, showing his ring. Corso's natural eye widened when he noticed.

"I have questions. And I believe you have answers for me" He said.

"Really?" Sonny asked.

"I'll ask you when you get here, I hope I am to be proven right." Corso answered. Sonny nodded with a smile.

"I'll be there in ten minutes."

Callie arrived early at work. She wanted to do some more research on the dagger. As Sonnys fiance, she felt she had the right to do some digging. Her co-workers quickly noticed the ring.

"Wow, the Pirates are loaded. That is one beautiful ring" Zöe, her co-worker, said. Callie had to laugh. Aaron also passed by and noticed. A big smile formed on his face.

"Congratulations to you both. Just an engagement for now?" He asked with a smile. Callie smiled as she recalled last night.

"Sonny asked me to marry him last night and I said yes." She said. Aaron grinned.

"I'm very happy to hear that. Many Pirates will want to celebrate this. You also have to interview him about it. Knowing what I know about him, this is truly spectacular. And lifts a weight of the shoulders of the pirates for sure." Aaron said, looking quite emotional. "Callie, Thank you. You have no idea what this means for the pirates. By marrying him, you save him from the same fate as the last five Pirate Chiefs suffered. Many of them were killed. Now, that will be avoided. Corso will feel very relieved to hear of this" he said. Callie smiled.

"He'll be safe with me.I promise." She said. Aaron nodded, then he got more serious.

"How has he really been since he was freed from captivity?" He asked, slightly concerned. Callie smiled.

"He's fine Aaron. Nothing major. Corso helps him if its needed" She said reassuringly. Aaron nodded.

"I'm asking on behalf of the Pirates Elder Council. They were worried. We could have lost him. Sonnys mental state is important to the entire organization, since we got no one that can permanently replace him" He said. Callie smiled.

"You can see for yourself tonight Aaron. He and D'Jok are going to reveal they're father and son. Another arcadia news exclusive. The galaxy gets so hear him speak again" She said. Aaron nodded.

"You might want to reveal your engagement to him, too. Will save everyone some he wont have to run from love sick women. He is popular, there are plenty of women that would not think twice about dating him" Aaron Said. Callie smiled.

"I'll gladly do it. Sonny will agree, lets just get it out there"

Corso had his questions ready for the interrogation of Keiran. He saw Sonny pull up in the parking lot, in his car. He probably had some big news to share. Corso looked at his hand as Sonny entered the building. A smile spread across his face as Sonny did not attempt to hide the ring on his finger. Corso approached him.

"Should I congratulate you on the engagement Sonny?" He asked as he grabbed Sonny's hand, looking at the ring. Sonny smiled.

"You're right to do so Corso. I had a chance to ask last night and I took it. She said yes" He said. Corso laughed.

"Now we just have to wait for the marriage. Not sure it will tame the pirate in you, but it will make you have to consider others feelings before you act. It will do you good" He said. Sonny shook his head.

"One step at a time Corso. Marriage is a big decission, we got time to plan this properly, and as you know, there are Other things that need to happen first." Sonny said. Corso nodded.

"Inform the others of this before we get to work, celebrations are welcome in this camp" Corso said. Sonny smiled.

"That reminds me Corso, have someone keep track of that Hush Sharky. Unless I give permission, he's not showing any pictures of us on his show. That goes double for anything related to my relationship with Callie." Sonny said, slightly cross. Corso hid a smile.

"Sounds like he missed a juicy story. Or you got out of bed on the wrong foot for once. Sounds like a slipped scoop" He laughed. Sonny placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm happy to hear that you're such a fan of his Corso. You'll be on guard duty at my house along with Bennett tonight, he comes around,make sure he gets the message" He stated. Corso looked at him.

"What!I'm on patrol duty now? Really? Why don't you put Artie on that?I got better things to do" he asked. Sonny grinned as he moved them both into the briefing room.

"It will be good for you. Maybe you'll learn something new." Sonny said. Corso rolled his eyes.

"You are the boss." He said. They headed into the briefing room where big cheers broke out when the news of Sonny's engagement to Callie was told. Sonny let his men carry on. He looked at the questions Corso had compiled for the interrogation. Sonny added a few questions of his own, and commanded Corso to get answers by any means necessary. He noticed a report from the Shiloh Nebula. The evacuation was completed. It was a shame that they had to allow this attack but it was the only way to find out where Maurice Miller hid his robot army. Sonny sent the message, telling all Pirates to make a safe zone around the Shiloh Nebula, and be prepared for battle. As soon as that was done, he nodded to Corso.

"Record everything, we need the audio file as evidence. I'll be behind the one-way mirror, sending you coded messages if you need to dig deeper." He said. Corso nodded with a grin.

"Right, let's crack this open."

It was time to come clean with whom he really was. He had hidden his herritage for long. he was proud of being the son of Sonny Blackbones.D'Jok arrived with Iris at Arcadia news building on Genesis. As he entered the building with Iris stroller in front of him, he saw Sonny and Callie in the hallway, surrounded by her co-workers. They were speaking about the engagement, and the two of them looked very relaxed with the attention they got. Sonny was relaxed when he answered questions, and he kissed Callie gently on the lips, when he noticed their arrival. He excused himself, as he made way to greet his son and granddaughter.

"Ready for this son?" He smiled as he reached them. D'Jok grinned.

"I was born ready. It will feel like a relief not having to hide this anymore" He said. Sonny raised an eyebrow.

"Time will tell if you are right Son. I have a feeling there will be plenty of media attention for you after this. You and Mei should give it a few days to settle" He said. D'Jok smirked.

"Callie and you are probably getting the brunt of it this time. With your popularity and hers, you are sure to get your fair share of attention because of this" He said. Callie joined them, and kissed Sonny while she did.

"I hope you're both ready for this. My boss asked us to announce the engagement too Sonny. All in thirty minutes. We got to limit the questions, or make more room for them" She said. Sonny smiled. He would handle this as professionally as he could. He placed one arm around Callie and the other around his son as they headed for the make up room.

"Let's go then."

The interview caught the Galaxy by surprise. They all knew Sonny, the chief of the pirates had caught them by surprise before. They knew he was a guy that did things his way, and had his secrets. But now, one that Duke Maddox had hinted to was out. Sonny Blackbones had a son, and not an unknown son either.

D'Jok, the Snow Kids' famous striker, was Sonny Blackbones' son. And now, they sat in the studio, side by side with the little baby between them, speaking of this secret that was now a bombshell of the day.

"What's it like to be the son of Sonny Blackbones?" Callie asked. D'Jok gave Iris her sucker as he smiled at Callie.

"I'm very proud of my dad Callie and what he has done. I'm taking his last name with pride. I have wanted to come out with this, since the pirates pardon. Thanks to that, now we can come clean, not needing to hide the fact" He smiled. Sonny nodded. The viewers had questions about this, and Sonny and D'Jok did their best to respond to it. But soon, the little one started to be less active, and Sonny smiled as he looked at the baby.

"She's getting ready for her nap D'Jok. Better get her back in her stroller. I'll take her afterwards, while you prepare for a busy weekend. Expect those of your friends that didnt know of this, to have questions of their own. You and Mei is better off without the baby this weekend" He suggested. D'Jok nodded, happy he understood and had agreed to shield his granddaughter from this storm. He placed the baby in the stroller and hugged his father on camera before they moved out of the frame to wait. Now, Callie took a seat next to Sonny. Noork sat down as well.

"A lot is happening in your life as well, Callie. This morning, you made the headlines for very positive news. Here at Arcadia news, we are proud to announce the engagement between Sonny Blackbones and Callie Mystic. Tell me, how does this feel?" Noork asked. Sonny took Callie's hand with a soft smile.

"It's a lot of fussing over something very common. We did discuss how this would affect us, but found it best to be upfront and honest from the start. For us, it just happened sooner rather than later. I can tell the pirates took the news well, as we are a tightknit group, whom through all this, still look out for eachother. Callie has become like a sister to many of us, and a much needed partner for me. I know some may think we are rushing it, given its not that long since our pardon, But I don't regret making the choice. I consider myself a very lucky man she said yes" Sonny said with a smile.

"This will probably break a lot of hearts, Sonny, as you are a very popular man among the ladies" Noork said. Sonny shrugged.

"Sorry, I guess. But for me, there is only one lady that captured my heart. Mine and the respect of my men, that is a very admirable thing to do" He smiled. Noork turned his attention to Callie.

"Callie, this is the first time you and Sonny appear together as a couple on here, but you've been dating for some time. Some may recall when Callie was reporting from Shiloh. I understand this was where your now infamous romance with Sonny began. Did you have your hotel room at Shiloh or were other arrangements made for your stay?" Noork asked. Callie laughed.

"I was staying with Sonny, in his very stylish quarters. Shiloh is very different from what we have seen on this channell before. The pirates have their secrets, and they hold on to them. But it is truly magical. And that was where Sonny and I grew closer, and started to explore the feelings between us. Sonny is many things, and a facinating man for sure. I feel very blessed he decided to ask me to share his life. It has changed how I see the pirates, whom I already had a good relationship with in a professional capacity, now they are my brothers and sisters. And they all ask me to make sure Sonny is safe and happy. They love him for all the good he did them. I try my best to help him go even further with that" She said.

"Stylish quarters, you say? That sounds like he is hardly at Shiloh" Noork asked, fishing for details. Callie laughed again.

"It looked hardly used, true. Besides, we cant forget the past. Sonny has been the most wanted man in the galaxy for years. It is hardly wise to stay put in one place for too long, especially when he had a bounty on his head" She said. Sonny smiled at the memories.

"My quarters are in a hidden part of Shiloh Noork. We dont let outsiders in, unless in very special cases, like Callie. That's where our romance started to take form, I confirm that. We have video footage from those days that I dont feel like sharing with the galaxy at this time. The first steps happened during the interviews we did. You could say those sessions was...electric" Sonny explained and winked to Callie. Noork was intrigued.

"The Pirates hold on to their secrets. I hope we can learn more about this some other time" He said. Sonny nodded.

"For the time being, it stays a secret, perhaps later on" He said. After a few questions from the viewers, the interview was over and the cameras turned off. "Those lamps are hot to sit under," Sonny commented as he got up. Aaron entered the room, and approached them. Callie stood with D'Jok and Iris as Aaron approached Sonny.

"Sonny, can I have a word with you in private?" He asked. Sonny nodded and kissed Callie quickly before he went with Aaron. Zoe approached Callie.

"Lucky you, getting hitched with a hottie like that." She mused throwing a long look after Callies hot fiance where he went with Aaron. Callie laughed.

"I'm sure you'll find your own eventually." She said.

Corso looked at the files from Ascaron and what had happened in the last days before it exploded. He wasn't honest with Sonny about the events, and he had a feeling Sonny would find out, that he left the placing of the 33rd Platoon out when he explained how they were slaughtered. He had never been able to find proof of his suspicion but he had a sinking feeling his platoon had misplaced explosives that could have been a contributing factor to the disaster and he recalled a soldier also misplaced a detonator. A memory snuck upon him.

He was the one in charge of this mission. They had to take out the Technoid base, and since the platoon had suffered losses, especially in the command chain, it now came down to him to lead the attack. He was looking at a young soldier. Hell, they were all nothing but kids. They thought going into war was a glorious thing. The war took the innocence of many of them. There was no glory, whoever had that idea soon lost their innocence in the fields. He had seen too much death to even care. He already lost all he could lose; his daughter, his wife. He would keep his people safe. That was all that was left.

"Sergeant, I can't find the detonator or the explosives." The Corporal told him. Corso looked at him. This was making a bad situation grow worse. And it only took a minute for him to decide what to do.

"Take a search party of four Corporal to find them ASAP. This is Chissian military-grade explosives. If we don't find it, we'll be court marshaled." Corso said, trying to block out the constant bombardment that seemed to come closer every minute.

"But we don't know where to look." The Corporal stammered.

"Take one of the detectors and get to it, that's an order!" he barked at the young man whom saluted before he went to execute his order.

Corso sighed. He knew what happened. He sent them into it. He should have done it himself. At least then he would have been out of the mess. But instead, he was the sole survivor. He didn't know what went wrong but he had his strong suspicion. If he could only find the exact spot those explosives were located at he might be able to calculate if he could have avoided the disaster. It had cost too many lives.

Corso sighed heavily. He felt a hand on his shoulder. he didnt even need to look up, he knew exactly whom stood next to him.

"Corso?" Sonny's voice was soft. Corso placed his hand on Sonny's.

"I'm fine Sonny. Just some bad memories." He admitted. Sonny nodded.

"The same that gave you the nightmares?" He asked, sounding worried. Corso shook his head.

"That's not it. These are of a more classified variety." Corso said. Sonny placed his hand on his neck.

"Let's go to the captain's cabin. We'll talk about this before something bad happens. This is eating at you, and you need to get it out. Now is as good a time as any" He said. Corso looked at him.

"You think that it will make me make a mistake since you sound so worried?" He asked. Sonny nodded with a serious face.

"This time Corso, I don't think it's me the past is out to get." he said as they headed to the cabin for a very personal talk.

The All Stars match was on. D'Jok was lining up against his father on the pitch. Sonny looked impressive in his pirates team uniform, carrying the number 10 on his back. This made D'Jok grin, as he remembered Sonnys old code name for the pitch. It seemed he had pulled out his old player X uniform again. Sonny grinned as he looked at his son, whom looked mighty confident where he stood. Well, this would be a tough job for his sons team, as the all stars would play hard, and take no prisoners.

"Forget that we're father and son D'Jok. Just play a good match. I promise I will." Sonny said, raising an eyebrow to indicate he was not gonna go easy on them, not even for a second. D'Jok nodded, shaking hands with his father, before they prepared for kick off.

The ball was in play. D'Jok went for a high jump to seize it but was reminded of what Clamp said. Sonny was a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. He reached the ball first when jumping high and used his head to pass to Warren. D'Jok was amazed at how precise that pass was. A straight bee line none the less. But then, he was pulled back to the present moment. He had to organize the team to stop the All stars walking all over them.

"Micro Ice, stop Warren," D'Jok yelled as he touched ground moments behind Sonny, whom was already running up the side to position himself for the attack on the Snow Kids goal and Ahito. Micro Ice ran to intercept Warren. Somehow, the tiny Snow Kid managed to tackle Warren and steal the ball. He passed to Tia, who was cut off by Lun Zaera, who passed to Stevens. As Rocket tried to steal the ball, Stevens used the Seed of Shiloh to tackle him and turned the pass high. D'Jok could see what kind of trap this was.

"No!" He yelled and tried to chase the ball. Sonny passed him and made the jump. D'Jok knew he couldn't steal the ball.

"Ahito, no sleeping, or it's a goal against us. Watch out or we are down by one already" He yelled. Ahito did his best to predict the trajectory but Luur was also involved in the play. Thran tried to tackle the Xenon in vain. Sonny reached the ball from up high. He made a precise pass to Luur, who sent the ball straight into the net.

"That was one for the All Stars," Callie said from the press box. D'Jok looked at his father as they waited for the ball to be back in play. Sonny sent him a look.

"It's not life or death son. It is just football, a time to have fun. Just play a good match. Losing doesn't mean you played a bad match. It can even teach you a thing or two about how a real champion reacts." He said as he passed by his son. D'Jok knew, but it became close to impossible during the first half. By the time halftime break was there, The All Stars had a three to zero lead.

At Technoid's box, Corso sat beside Duke Maddox, keeping a close eye on Sonny. So far, he wasn't overusing his flux and he focused on team play, making sure all the players got to shine. Seeing him go high for the ball gave Corso a clear idea of what role Sonny would play in the upcoming Cup. Duke Maddox leaned over.

"It looks like Sonny is doing quite good. He's good with the head and is also a good passer." He commented. Corso nodded reluctantly.

"He's able to play almost all positions. He's a good footballer." He said. Duke Maddox rubbed his chin.

"The only danger with this is that Miller and other enemies will also see this. They might come after him again. The Flux society made a good decision in recognizing him as a Flux master. But it also puts Sonny in danger. I will ask the security around Sonny to be raised in the following months. with the media exposure he gets now, it allows for his enemies to make a judgement call on his strenght." Duke Maddox mused. Corso didn't like it, but he had to agree.

"We Know. We caught the guy that took him last time. He might be lying about it, but Sonny doesnt think so. Shiloh's being threatened. if we don't hand Sonny over to Miller, He will hurt innocent people there. Not that we're going to let him. As for Sonny, they wont get near him, I will see to that." Corso explained. Duke Maddox nodded.

"You did the right thing Corso. Sonny is too valuable to a lot of people to be caught. He may be the only one that can stop Miller. We cant allow for him to be captured again" He said. Corso agreed. Sonny had ordered him to play nice with Maddox.

"What he did to Sonny was treason in the eyes of the pirates. We're making sure it won't happen again. We were too close to losing Sonny. That is the pirates worst nightmare. We need him" Corso said softly. Duke Maddox nodded before he studied Sonny's right-hand man closely.

"You share a close bond with him Corso. Closer than most friendships. I do remember Sonny having that effect on people, even when he worked with us. That was one of the things that made him stand out, and Bleylock was one of those that took advantage of that. Until Bleylock met Sonny, he never experienced what it meant to be trusted or even loved. Sonny brought that side out in him, by being himself. Bleylock loved him for sure, but he was formed by his upbringing. I'll never forgive Bleylock for what he did. It could have cost Sonnys life" Duke Maddox said. Corso looked at the other man. He knew he had to ask.

"Can I ask you something?" He managed. Duke Maddox leaned closer.

"What is it?" He asked. Corso sighed. He couldn't turn back now.

"Let's not beat around the bush: I know you have Sonny's old medical files. We need them to help with his health. We got our own file, but it lacks older things, like injuries" Corso said. Duke Maddox taught it over. Then, he nodded.

"Come over to my office in the morning. I'll have the files available. I also need to talk to Sonny and Clamp in private. It is about Bleylock and the Metaflux, I need to hear it from them both, what they knew." He said. Corso nodded.

"Thanks," he said. Duke Maddox had one more question.

"Did Sonny tell the truth of when he was captured? This bounty hunter did not injure him in any way?" He asked. Corso nodded.

"He didn't hurt him. Still, Sonny almost died because that dimwit professor of yours doesn't know his drugs. I am not allowing anyone to hurt him, ever" Corso said. Duke Maddox nodded.

"Will Sonny come in for a psychological evaluation? Technoid would like to make sure he is coping well" He asked. Corso shook his head.

"We're taking care of it. It will take time for Sonny to trust your people enough to do such a session with you. I will make sure he gets the needed psycological help, if he needs it" He said. Duke Maddox nodded.

"Has he told you of his past with Bleylock?I imagine you being his right hand man, you would know something about that past" He asked. Corso nodded.

"If he wasn't dead I'd kill him myself. Sonny told me, under pressure, what happened. I am just glad he survived" He said. Duke Maddox nodded, looking serious this time.

"What Bleylock did was terrible. I only wish I had known, so I could have stopped it" He said. Corso nodded.

"Sonny wasn't his only victim, There are many more. But I think loosing Sonny was the one thing that actually hurt him the most. Love, as odd as it sounds, turned to hate, when Sonny decided to leave him" Corso said with clenched fists. "It pisses me off thinking about it. How he felt so entitled to everything and could not take no for an answer" he admitted. Duke Maddox nodded.

"Still, Sonny never wanted to kill him. I even heard he once saved his life back when they were together. Made the man's father real proud. Gave him a dagger. A HUGE sign of respect for the Abraxor people. Sonny made his impression even then." Duke Maddox said. Corso nodded.

"Sonny never denied the fact that he was in a relationship with Bleylock. He just never spoke of how violent it turned" He said. Duke Maddox nodded thoughtfully. Sonny and Corso had some things to discuss.

A signal told that the second half of the match would start. Duke Maddox turned his focus back onto the pitch but Corso was distracted. Bleylock's father gave Sonny a dagger? His mind went to the dagger he found lodged in the bench outside Mei and D'Jok's home the day Sonny had been abducted. He recalled how Sonny had stared at it. The dagger had the Pirates emblem engraved on the right side but there had been something on the left-hand side too. Corso knew he had to dig deeper into Bleylock. The Teams came back on the field. Corso decided to drop matters for now and try to enjoy the match.

It ended in a three to one victory for the All Stars. Even the Snow Kids had to admit, the All-Stars team, reinforced by a Flux Master like Sonny Blackbones, was unbeatable. Sonny didn't go for any direct shot on goal himself. He would tackle, slide, and assist his teammates. D'Jok went to congratulate his father and the others.

"Good Match son. I was worried you would be too distracted." Sonny said with a smile. D'Jok grinned.

"I'm trying to be more professional." He smiled at his father. Warren smiled down at the Striker.

"You two are father and son alright . It's that same energy and determination to get things done. You did good D'Jok, becoming a coach is good for you." He said. D'Jok made a face.

"Having a family humbles me. Especially Iris." He said. Sonny smirked.

"This is when things start to get interesting son. I hope you have the skills to cope. If you need to, Let me know if you need any help." He said. D'Jok grinned.

"Expect frequent phone calls Dad, she's teething, and that happens to make her very crancky at night" He said. Warren couldn't hold back a laugh.

"I'll babysit when she's done teething. That job is meant for the parents to deal with" He laughed. Sonny hid a smile.

"I got something that will help ease the worst of it. I'll drop by later with the instructions." he said. With that, the players left the pitch.

Corso looked at the files Duke Maddox had spread out across his desk. When he thought Bleylock could not fall any lower, he did. The x rays he looked at was from the first of three incidents. Sonny had taken a severe beating to his back from the look of things, and he had not escaped without injury. This injury could have gone undetected if not for the skills of the Technoid doctors, he of all knew Sonny could easily try to hide an injury to stay in the role as the commander on board. They had several talks about this in the past, with Corso expressing concern for his best friends health, that he was not taking the severity of the injury serious enough. From the X rays, Corso could see fractures on Sonny's spinal cord.

"Are these from the first attack?" He asked, voice shaking. It had been a much more close call than he realised. The pain Sonny had to have endured spoke volumes of his physical strenght even before they ever met. "He was lucky. Those blows could have crippled him."Corso said, with a tremble in his voice. Duke Maddox nodded.

"Whatever happened, it startled Sonny. He must have known how serious the injury was, I have not been able to find the doctor that took the x rays, he may be one of you. I did get reports that Sonny moved a bit carefully for some time, and Still, he kept close to Bleylock even then. Wich makes me suspect Bleylock may have threatened him with something. From what anyone can see, He was very posessive of Sonny, after this, Sonny worked from within the home he shared with Bleylock. My suspicion is Bleylock wanted to keep an eye on him, control him in a sense" Duke Maddox stated. Corso knew this to be true, from Sonnys own account of events but he had also promised not to tell. He shook his head slightly. He looked at the images from the last attack, the one that made Sonny break down in his arms. The images spoke volumes of what had happened. He would have sat there for as long as it took, to have Sonny let it all out. Seeing the images confirmed all that Sonny had shared. Sonny would still need help to deal with this. There was more he had to come to terms with. and he would be there to help see him through it all. Corso clenched his fists.

"I hate this man." He whispered.

Sonny had a plan for the interrogation of Keiran O'Keefe today. Corso wouldn't like it, but given that he was still the boss, Sonny would go in with him to have it done. The dagger in Keiran's possession had made Sonny realize that Keiran knew a lot more about Bleylocks wheeling and dealing within Technoid than he let on. And he was going to make him talk so this book could be closed. Corso looked a bit rattled when he came in. Sonny knew Corso had a meeting with Duke Maddox that morning, but not what they had spoken of. All Corso had said, was he wanted to retrieve the copy of the old medical file that Technoid had on Sonny. And that made Sonny suspect Corso knew something, about what he did not speak of. He approached his worried best friend carefully.

"Is something wrong?" Sonny asked carefully, lightly putting a hand on his shoulder. Corso looked at him.

"Duke Maddox gave me these Sonny. You should have told me." He said as he tossed Sonny's old medical files on the table. Sonny nodded.

"It's a long time ago Corso. Those injuries have healed.I am fine now" He tried. Corso studied his friend. There was a look of sympathy in his eyes.

"I think I know why you couldn't talk about it. It was a horrifying sight" He said. Sonny nodded and pulled Corso into an embrace. He felt Corsos arms wrap around him, just holding him close.

"He can't hurt me anymore Corso and none of us can change the past. Now we got to move forwards from that past" He said softly. Corso wrapped his arms around him even tighter.

"There was a video file attached, Maddox found it in the home you shared with him. The whole thing is on video Sonny. If he was still alive, I would kill him for what he did, one thing is what he did while you were still conscious, after that, when you passed out..." Corso said. Sonny knew what Corso had seen, why he was so shaken.

"It's history Corso. I'm fine. No problems from back then. But we will find time to talk this out during the day. I dont want you to hold those images in your head without the real story for long." He assured him. Corso nodded.

"I still want a full X-ray done on your back Sonny, to make sure the injuries are healed, the sooner the better" Corso said as he looked at him. Sonny nodded.

"I'll let you make a new X-ray set, to ease your nerves. You can update Duke Maddox with a copy too. Something tells me, he will ask for it. In return, I want to ask you about Ascaron. What do you know about what happened?I got a feeling I am missing a puzzle piece to the mystery, and something tells me, you know what it is." Sonny asked, looking at his best friend. Corso nodded.

"I will tell you what you seek to know. In return, you elaborate on the topic you avoided last time." He said. Sonny nodded.

"I hope you're ready for it Corso, It is not a sunshine story" He said. Corso nodded, he knew after having seen these pictures. They were ready to go to the prison cells when there was a commotion at the gate. Sonny quickly turned on a monitor to get an idea of what was going on. Corso felt cold chills run down his spine when he saw who entered on the monitors. The uniforms were too familiar. Sonny looked at him. He noticed Corsos shock. And even he knew the emblem on the uniforms, and whom they were here for. Well, not on his watch. Sonny made a quick decision.

"Corso, slip out the backdoor, now. I'll deal with them. Head to my house and stay in the hidden panic room. Try to calm yourself as much as possible. I'll come as soon as I can. We will deal with this, whatever it is" Sonny said. He turned his back on Corso, whom slipped out a hidden door in the wall panel, and went to the main operations room as Corso found his way out. The pirates was confused by the presence of military personell on their grounds, and looked to Sonny for answers.

Soon, the place was filled with even more people in military uniforms. They semed to be armed too, as if they were on the hunt for someone dangerous. And Sonny suspected, to them, that was exactly what Corso was, a danger, a loose end. Sonny looked at their Commanding Officer, whom made his way forwards, towards him. Sonny crossed his arms over his chest. Shiloh security was a legitimate company, and the military from a planet like Chissia, had no jurisdiction here on Genesis, to his knowledge. Now, he looked at the commander, a man with a very prominent scar on his face.

"This is private property sir. We got no buisness with your planet or men. So,Why are you here, dressed as if you are ready to make an arrest?" He tried. The man with the scar stepped forwards, towards Sonny.

"My name is Lieutenant Marshall. Are you Sonny Blackbones, the head of the Shiloh Pirates?" He asked. Sonny looked at him.

"That's me. Now, do you mind telling me, What are you doing here?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest a bit harder.

"We're seeking a deserter from the Chissian Army. He's charged with manslaughter, and suspicion of causing the disaster on Ascaron. He is an elite rouge soldier and must be handed over to The chissian military, to stand trial for his crimes." Lieutenant Marshall said.

"What makes you think he's part of our organization No one survived the explosion on Ascaron to my knowledge, or does the chissian military have some skeletons in the closet to hide?" Sonny pointed out. Sonny knew what was going on but was fishing for information. Sonny addressed one of his people whom walked by him with some papers, in Ancient Shiloh. It was a coded message. "Bring up any information we have on the Chissian Military and Lieutenant Marshall. Corso is staying in hiding until things are clear." he said. The pirate nodded and went to work on a nearby work station.

Corso tried to sneak out. He took out a gadget that allowed him to shield himself from detection. He carefully made his way outside, and into the parking lot, where he found a car with the company markings, to leave and go into hiding as Sonny had ordered him to.

Sonny looked at the Lieutenant. This was two strong wills pitted against eachother. And his intuition said loud and clear, this man posed a danger to Corso. Corso would not see the chissian court, as his very existence was a threat to this man. But he had to have it confirned, from the lieutenants own mouth.

"What is the name of the deserter you seek? I'll check upon him. if he is one of us, I will find out where he is, and call him in to talk" He offered. The lieutenant looked at him coldly.

"Don't play dumb with me Blackbones. You know very well whom I speak off. Where is Sergeant Corso Takashi hiding?" He snarled.

A/N: The past has caught up with our friend Corso. Sonny may be able to get him to safety for now but hiding a deserter comes at a price. How will they solve this? Have they already made a plan? Corso has a few harrowing days in store for him. The next chapters will be Corso centered.
