Chapter 10 Discovering Sakura's Guild

(Amu's POV)

As our little group walked out of the forest, we saw a meadow filled with flowers of all colors.

"Look Amu!" Ami said excitedly, then she ran to play in the flowers.

Ran, Miki and Suu followed her. and they all played among them blossoms. Ikuto decided to play along by using his mind and lifting some flowers into the air letting them fall slowly back to the ground.

"How strong are you mind abilities now Ikuto?" I asked him while smiling as I watched the girls play in the fields with the flowers floating around them.

"I haven't tried to pick anything of substantial weight, but I am getting there. I don't really have enough confidence that I won't accidently drop whatever it is I am lifting. Why?" he asked.

"We can find out if you want?" I replied.

"How?" he asked me. "I don't want to hurt anyone, and I don't know hard it will be. I think that with my natural vampiric abilities, it will be enough to defeat the kiddy king."

"Lift me, Ikuto" I told him. "Please. You pushed me to learn how to control my blood and make weird things and because of that we can use it as a weapon or use it in defense. Please let me help you too."

"I don't want to hurt you" he said carefully.

"I know you won't hurt me. I know that with you, I am safe. There is no one else on earth that I would trust to do this. Please push yourself and learn to control this awesome power. It is much cooler that my little shield. I have to see what I want to do in my mind. All you have to do is defy gravity and from what I have seen, you don't have to see it directly to make it happen. Please try Ikuto" I asked him while holding his hand and looking into his eyes.

"Okay, Strawberry" he said softly. "But I will not lift you too high. Just in case I accidently drop you. Please be prepared to hit the ground and try to catch yourself. Much like you were when made your first dagger, it is very exhausting."

I watched Ikuto close his eyes as he concentrated, beads of sweat formed on his brow and when he opened them, his eyes were gold. They mirrored my eyes. I felt my body lift off the ground. I was only a foot off the ground and Ikuto was struggling to hold me still.

"You got this Ikuto" I said. "Lift me higher. I trust you."

The determination in his eyes became more focused and he picked me up higher. I did not take my eyes off Ikuto's, but I heard Ami exclaim that I was up as high as Ikuto's head. Ran, Miki and Suu all cheered. Then I felt him lowering me to the ground but at the last foot before I was safely on the ground, he lost control and I fell.

"Amu!" Ikuto said loudly. "I'm sorry Strawberry. I didn't mean to drop you. Are you okay? He asked while running up to me.

I stood up and gave him a hug, "You did great Ikuto. Do it again, keep practicing and soon you will have complete control" I said into his chest.

"No, I dropped you. I am not doing it again" he told me adamantly.

"Yes Ikuto, you are" I said just as stubbornly as he did. "You picked me up 6 feet in the air. You held me there. Imagine if you were able to move me to the side in the air too, not just straight up" I said looking into his eyes. "Please try again."

"Okay Amu, I'll keep trying for you" he told me. Then he let me go and he continued practicing for the next 30 minutes. After that we all decided that we need to rest and fell asleep in flowers.

It was early evening by the time everyone woke up and we continued walking through the meadow. We walked out of the flowers and saw a small town. But on the hill at the end of the town was a huge building, it had a sign that had sakura flowers on it. We continued walking through the town until we saw an inn.

"Hi! I'm Amu" I said to the clerk as we walked in the door and up the counter. "We don't have money, but we can work off any debts and we can all share one room if you have something like that available?"

"Generally, we don't but as it so happens, our housekeeper became extremely ill and we have no one to clean. In exchange for two rooms, you and everyone in your group is to clean and help prepare supper tomorrow. If you stay here for more than two days, we will have to adjust our deal" said a girl with long blonde curly hair.

"Agreed" I told her and bowed my head. "Thank you for the opportunity and willingness to allow us all to stay. This is my sister, Ami. These are my friends Ran, Miki, and Suu. Finally, this is my finance, Ikuto" I said as I introduced everyone.

"Nice to meet you all, my name is Rima, do not cause any issues or you will be forced to leave" she said sternly, then she gave us two keys and we all walked to the rooms given.

"We will take Ami with us Amu, you and Ikuto cam have the other room" Ran said. "Besides, you haven't had much time to yourselves lately. Enjoy your time together, after all you may have had dreams of us winning the battle, but nothing is guaranteed, and you don't know what the cost of that win will be."

"Um, thank you Ran" I said quietly. Then we all went into our rooms, used the washroom facilities, and went to bed.

Around 2:00 in morning, Suu came running into Ikuto and I's room.

"Amu! Come quick. Something is wrong with Ami!" she said quickly and left back to her room.

I jumped out of my bed and Ikuto jumped out of his then we both ran to Ami's room. When we got to the room, the door was open, and Miki was trying to wake up Ami who was floating in the air. Suu was telling Miki to quiet down, and Ran was jumping in the air trying to catch Ami.

Ami was floating around the room sleeping. She was scared and she kept saying "we aren't monsters Haha! Just different!" then we saw sparks start to form around her hands.

"Everyone back up" I said, and they all stopped what they were doing when they heard me. "Ikuto do you have one of my daggers?" I asked him and he shook his head, "Sorry Strawberry."

"Ugh" I said as I grabbed a pen knife from the desk and slit my finger to make myself bleed. "Guess we are using fresh blood."

"Amu, what are you gonna do?" I head Suu ask.

"Something I have never done before" I responded as the blood started to pool in my palm. "Let's hope this works."

I brought the pool of blood up and formed a bubble and the cut on my finger healed, then I looked at Ikuto.

"Ikuto, please move me into the bubble after I place it around Ami so that I can seal her inside it. I don't want those sparks to hit anything and cause a fire" I asked him.

"Sure" he said as he watched me move my bubble over and around Ami then he picked me up and I opened the bubble so that I could go into it.

"Good" I said. "Can you please bring us down slowly? I'll change the shape of the bubble so that you can set her on her bed, and I'll try to wake her up" I explained, and he did as I requested.

Three minutes later, I found myself standing next to Ami as she slept. Ami kept repeating she wasn't a monster. She was crying saying that Amu loved her, and Sora wasn't a freak. I watched as she sat up and flung her hand out. The sparks hit the bubble and absorbed it, but my pink and black hair stood straight up. I thought to myself that you just gotta love static electricity.

"Ami!" I said to her. "Please wake up, you are safe. Haha and Chichi aren't here. Sora is safe!" I said louder. When Ami heard me say that Sora was safe, her eyes suddenly opened, and the sparks stopped flying from her hands.

"Amu!" she cried. "They tried to kill us! They tried to kill you. I was trying to stop them. They were calling us monsters and Sora a freak of nature." Then she looked at my hair standing straight up hitting the walls of the bubble. "Oh no! Did I hurt you again?" she asked panicking.

"No Ami, you didn't" I told her gently.

"Why are we in a blood bubble then?" she asked me looking around us.

"Well, I didn't want you to accidently burn down the inn, so I surrounded you with something that you couldn't burn" I explained. "If you are fully in control, I'd like to take down the shield. Are you doing better Ami?"

"Yes Amu, thank you and I'm sorry" she said sadly.

"It's okay Ami" I said hugging her and took the shield down.

"You're a witch?!" a voice said at the door. "No wait. What are you?! How did you change your hair color?! That is not the mark of any witch I have seen"

At the sound of a voice, all six of us turned and saw the little short blonde girl named Rima at the door.

"I know this is probably bad, but please let us stay the night. I promise we are all in control and no one is in danger. I will stay up and watch everyone" I said quickly, hoping that we would have to leave in the middle of the night.

"I would not ask that of you" she said. "This is why," she held her hand out and sparks were gathering at her fingertips. "I'm a witch too Amu, so I guess we have something in common."

"Um, you seem to be mistaken Rima" I said.

"How? I saw the shield, and anyone would recognize the sparks" Rima reasoned.

"Well, you are half right" I told her. "In our group, there are vampires, werewolves and witches."

"Vampires are real?" Rima asked. "I've seen the werewolf pack in the forest, so I already know that they are real."

I laughed and she saw my fangs, "Yup, Ikuto and I are vampires. Ami here is a witch and our brother who is not here, is a werewolf" I told her.

Rima smiled and told us not to move while she went to go get someone.

About 20 minutes later, a boy with long purple hair came into the room.

"I'm Nagihiko" he said with his hand out. "This is my inn that I run with my wife, Rima. She tells me that you all have interesting abilities. I am the leader of the local guild. I myself am a wizard. You and your friends can call me Nagi. I would greatly appreciate it if you would all follow me. I realize the time but if another incident occurs, I would rather it happen in a controlled area and not in a place that we lose our source of income and possibly cause many innocent people to get hurt."

I stood up and walked in between Nagihiko and Rima and my friends. Ikuto came and stood next to me.

"Before we go anywhere," I said firmly with my fangs showing, "you should know that there here are people that we cannot trust, and we don't know whose side you two are on. So, please state your full intentions."

Author's notes:

Nikki: Thank you! I was hoping to be able to show their emotions. I hope that one day I can write well enough so that when you read my story, it plays like a movie in your head. There are so many authors that I have had the pleasure of reading that even 20 years later, I forget that it was a book and not a movie because I could literally imagine what they were portraying.

sweetXDmelody: I believe it is important for a person feel that no matter who they are, they are accepted. I know that sometimes our family is not biological. Sometimes they are there for you and other times you have to go find your family. Sora will always have Ami and Amu but it also helps to be with others that are just like you.
