Welcome to chapter 2 guys. In the last chapter I was trying to go for a Ted, Marshall and Lily type thing for the three roommates, hopefully it went the way I wanted. Enjoy the chapter!

Duncan was still shocked as to what he saw, he was sure Alejandro had said he wanted to be a lion tamer.

A nurse walked by Duncan but Duncan grabbed his hand.

'' Dr. Nelson please let me go'' the nurse stated in a nasal high pitched voice. The nurse was Saul Goldberg, a scrawny nerd who reminded Duncan of Harold. The main difference being that Goldberg was blonde and had a voice that sounded high pitched and nasal.

'' Goldberg, where's this new physician's office?''

''Two doors to the left, but why do you care so much?''

'' I. Don't ''

'' Dr. Nelson may I say two things?''

'' yes Goldberg you can, but stop asking me, it's a free country''

'' Well sire first of all please unhand me, people are starting to look.''

Duncan unhanded the nurse. '' And secondly sir please note that I can see you're lying.''

'' So, what should I do?'' Duncan asked the nurse.

'' Go speak with him, I happen to know he's free now''

Wondering how the scrawny nurse knew this Duncan knocked on the door.

'' Come in''

Duncan walked in and saw the man, he looked the same as he always had on TDWT and TDAS.

'' Al, never thought I'd see you at a hospital''

'' Why's that Duncan and please take a seat'' the former delinquent sat down on a chair in front of Alejandro's desk. Clearly the management team felt highly of their new doctor and his desk was blackwood whereas Duncan's was normal cedar. Alejandro also had leather chairs whereas Duncan was stuck with normal wooden ones.

'' Well for starters working here means you help people out –

'' I helped people out on the show'' Al defended.

'' You helped get them eliminated'' Duncan refuted.

'' Look, this might sound strange but ever since I started dating Heather the two of us have changed, we're much kinder and more empathic than we used to be''

Duncan was skeptical, he wanted to believe him, but this was Alejandro after all.

'' Alright I'll bite, so what made you want to become a doctor, have you pulled any Harold Shipmans yet?''

'' No, I chose this profession because of the money and to redeem myself''

'' Huh, ok.'' Duncan stated plainly.

'' How about you amigo, why'd you choose to become a psychiatrist?''

'' How did you know I was a psychiatrist?''

'' I asked Goldberg, did you know he'll do anything if you promise to talk to management about a pay raise for all nurses?''

Wish I had before I grabbed him Duncan thought.

'' So you and Heather how's that going?''

'' I'm in love with her''

'' Really? The same chick who pushed you off a volcano?''

'' The same''

'' Ok''

'' So amigo, how's your dating life going?''

Duncan rubbed his arm.

'' Oh, did I strike a nerve?''

'' No, its just that Zoey dumped me a few days ago''

'' Oof, sorry. Do you ever speak to Courtney ?''

'' Pfft, no. That girl wouldn't even take my call even if I had her number. Also I don't think my kiwis can take another beating.''

'' Ah denial, such a sweet sound'' Al said poetically.

'' Denial? Dude I'm a psychiatrist don't you think I'd know if I were in denial?''

'' Maybe, but by using this moment right now we can determine you don't know''

Clearly Heather taught him how to lawyer Duncan thought.

'' Fine, I miss her. The whole Gwen thing was more of a fling with feelings than anything else.''

Alejandro smirked as he stroked his chin. '' Heather and I are going to a steakhouse tonight, care to join us?''

'' Wouldn't I be a third wheel?''

Most likely a foruth wheel if this goes according to plan Al thought. '' No amigo you wouldn't.''

'' Well my schedule's pretty open since…''

No verbal communication was needed, Alejandro knew what he was thinking.

'' Soo, 6:30 work for you?'' Al asked.

'' Yeah sure, where is it?''

'' A place called the Silver spittoon, on Trudeau avenue.''

'' Gotcha, see you then'' Duncan walked out and back to his office.

Al smirked and pulled out his phone.

'' Hello mi amor'' Ale cooed.

'' What is it donkey boy?''

'' If I recall correctly you said Courtney missed Duncan?''

'' Yes?''

'' Well I got him to crack, turns out he misses her as well, I invited him on our date, may I trouble you to ask Courtney to join us as well?''

'' While I am ticked that you made this decision without me, this could be a way to show our newfound niceness off to our friends. Ok I'll ask her''

'' Perfect, I love you ''

'' I love you too donkey boy''

'' One more thing, I've decided to order the copious amounts of alcohol in advance ''

'' You can do that?''

'' I can do anything'' Alejandro boasted.

Heather rolled her eyes, it never ceased to amaze her as to how arrogant he could be.

Heather hung up her phone and went to Courtney's office.

'' Knock knock''

'' Oh, hey Heath, come on in'' Courtney said, not taking her eyes off the paperwork in front of her.

'' So listen how does your evening look?''

Courtney looked up at her friend. '' What're you getting at Harrison?''

'' Nothing, why?''

'' The last time you asked me this I ended up in a bar getting hit on by college guys''

'' That's in the past?''

'' In was three weeks ago''

'' Look, no angle. But do you want to come with me and Al to a restaurant tonight?''

'' Fine'' Courtney exhaled.

Walking out, Heather grinned, Al's plan was working.

'' Wow, dressing nicely for the second time today, kudos'' Bridgette smirked at her roommate.

'' Alejandro and Heather are taking me to a steakhouse/bar, figured I'd dress nice''

Duncan had decided to wear a black polo shirt with blue jeans and a pair of Barron boots.

'' Wow Duncan, out on the prowl'' Geoff complimented.

'' Easy Geoff, its just dinner with an old friend''

'' Not my friend, I'd put that guy in concrete shoes and show him into lake Ontario if I could'' Geoff said.

'' Easy honey, that was years ago'' Bridgette calmed him down. Even though it had been six years since the '' accident'' Geoff was still a bit raw about it.

'' Look, he texted me to say a special guest is coming, who knows who it might be?'' Duncan said.

'' Go get 'em tiger'' Bridgette pecked him on the cheek.

Duncan pulled up to the steakhouse, it was just as he would've pictured it. A large grey building in an old western style of architecture. As he walked in he was impressed with the level of detail, also the stuffed grizzly bears at the door looked cool. Duncan scanned the room until he saw a familiar pair of people wave at him.

'' Duncan, you made it!'' Al embraced him in a man-hug.

'' Hey man, Heather lookin' good'' Duncan flirted earing a patented Heather glare.

'' So where's the other person you were speaking of?'' Duncan asked as he sat down.

'' Sorry I'm late, stupid Thunder Bay traffic'' Courtney sat down and almost had a small heart attack when she saw who was in front of her.

'' Duncan?''

'' Princess?''

For the next five minutes, the pair were just staring blankly at each other.

'' I'm going for a smoke, Al, care to join me?'' Heather offered.

'' Definitely''

The pair walked into the smoking section and started speaking.

'' What now super schemer?'' Heather asked, a bit annoyed.

'' Now we say we have to go because my parents need me and since they love you , you have to come too''

'' Your parents hate me"

'' Those two don't know that'' Alejandro pointed to the other pair, still frozen in a trance.

'' Good point, alright I'm in, but I don't like screwing Courtney around like this''

Alejandro smirked as he walked, she had changed.

'' Guys, sorry we have to go , Al's parents need him and they requested I go too. Oh also Courtney the power's out at our apartment.''

'' Huh, oh. Fine'' Courtney stammered as the pair left the restaurant.

'' So, uh how's it going?'' Duncan rubbed the back of his neck.

'' Fine, I still hate you'' Courtney scowled.

'' Come on Court, its been 6 years can't we move past this like adults?''

'' In case you don't remember, I'm a Barlow, my family can hold grudges for a long time in case you've forgotten''

'' How could I? The first time I met your folks your dad was still plotting against his school principal'' this caused Courtney to laugh a bit.

Just then a waiter brought two martinis and put them on the table.

'' Who're these for?'' Duncan asked.

'' Preordered by some Spanish guy'' the waiter answered.

'' Huh, well…I'd hate to be rude'' Duncan downed the drink. '' Looks like I can still outdrink you.''

'' Dream on Nelson'' Courtney smirked , downed hers and called for the waiter.

'' Hey how many drinks did the Spanish guy pay for?'' she asked.

'' Unlimited''

Courtney and Duncan confidently stared each other, '' perfect''

'' Uggh, what happened?'' Duncan asked the next morning as he woke up. He realized his clothes were all over his bedroom.

'' Aahh!'' Courtney screamed from the other side of the bed. '' Did we?''

'' I think so'' Duncan responded the panic in his voice obvious.

'' This was a mistake'' Courtney rubbed her head and got dressed, Duncan ogling her.

'' Enjoying the view?'' she smirked at him.

'' Every bit''

'' Still a Neanderthal '' Courtney rolled her eyes and went to the door.

'' Courtney?'' came a familiar voice.

'' Bridgette? Do you live here?''

'' I totally do, Geoff's my fiance and Duncan's my roommate''

'' Oh, well I've got to get to work but we'll catch up'' Courtney exited the apartment.

Duncan got out of the room, still hungover.

'' Hey Bridge '' he said as he made his way to the coffee maker.

'' God morning slut'' Bridgette spoke back sipping her own mug.

'' What do you mean?''

'' You and Courtney got back here at about 23:00 and you got a bit busy''

'' Oh god'' Duncan said earning a laugh from his friend.

'' Relax, you're walking so you should be fine just drink coffee, today's Friday, that's your least busy day right?''

'' Wrong, that's Thursday, Friday is grind day''

'' Oof, well…good luck'' Bridgette offered, as Duncan grabbed his keys and slumped out.

Geoff walked into the kitchen. '' Hey babe, did you tell him about the video?''

Bridgtte smiled at him. '' Be patient ''

Ooh what video?
