Gamer4 in. You may or may not be familiar with this project- this story I've been weaving for a year or so now. I began by detailing a story told to me by Glynda Goodwitch from the town of Vale- the story of many, that began with the story of one. That one was Jaune Arc. The next story I told was one I researched on my own- the story of Jaune himself, and the events leading up to his demise. Soon, I will be presenting one final story, picking up with the fallout of that original tale and bringing it all to a close. Before that, however, I'd like to present these brief trailers to set up the world we'll soon be entering- a world where something has fundamentally gone wrong, where nothing is as it should be. For instance...

Disclaimer: RWBY is Monty Oum's, and always will be.

"Mrs. Schnee..."

Weiss kept her eyes closed on the couch, listening to the young man's voice.

"Mrs. Schnee, I want you to remember what happened that day, at the bank."

"I've already told you, haven't I?"

"You've told me often enough, yes... what I really need you to do is tell the story to yourself."

Weiss closed her eyes even more tightly. All these years later, and she still wasn't quite over it.

The man picked up his scroll. "Perhaps if we relaxed... would you like me to put some music on? Or... do you feel up to singing? That's always seemed to comfort you in the past."

Weiss nodded slowly. Before he could ask for clarification, she slowly parted her lips and began to croon.

"Mirror... tell me something...

Tell me who's the loneliest of all..."

She shuddered as memories rushed through her- memories of stepping into Vale Savings and loan with nothing on her but a simple pair of handcuffs. She'd been mostly alone, aside from the elderly manager.

"Mirror... tell me something...

Tell me who's the loneliest of all..."

Then there was Raven Branwen, and a large faunus she couldn't identify by sight. She'd been forced away from her goal as they pushed for the deposit boxes, key in hand.

"Fear of what's inside me...

Tell me, could a heart be turned to stone?"

What they were hoping for, she did not know- never had. All she knew was what happened next as the world suddenly turned to fire.

Her voice rose in intensity and speed as she felt the burns on her flesh.

"Mirror, mirror, what's behind you?

Save me from the things I see!

I can keep it from the world,

Why won't you let me hide from me?"

An echoing bang, a rush of fire... so many lives snuffed out, leaving her alive... only her. Why her, of all people? That was something she was struggling to understand, even to this day- why had she survived when so many others hadn't?

Pain... endless pain... but she had still survived- or had she? It seemed everything since had been part of only a half-life, a cursed life. She bit her lip as she brought her song to a conclusion.

"Mirror... mirror...

Tell me something...

Who's the loneliest of all?"

Tears began to slide down her face.

"I'm... the loneliest... of...

All..."

Slowly, she finally opened her eyes, glancing to the man sitting at her side, wondering how things may have been different... if she'd simply made a right instead of a left, taken a path ever so slightly different from the one she had.

The man's eyes had nothing but sympathy for her. "Yes... I believe I understand. You're free to go, Weiss... same time next week?"

Weiss weakly nodded as she pulled herself to her feet. Time for her to head home, eke out another week, and come back... rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, as it had been ever since that accursed day.

Round and round and round.
