Chapter 12 : The Mech and The Scar
Last Time on The Masks of Garmadon : Kai and the Young Ninja arrive to talk with the Commissioner about Lydia's Motives, with Kai expressing his anger with The Commissioner pardoning Killow and The Oni's Mercenaries, and refusing to help after The Commissioner hears Kai is the reason Lydia's with the Sons of Garmadon, learning she's only trying to bring back her parents, and nothing else, saying that there's nothing to save Ninjago from, While Liv shows Lydia her Princess Clothes she wore as her Civilian Outfit, and Lydia doesn't know if it's right to dress up like someone she doesn't think she is anymore, with Liv's words telling her otherwise, while they arrive in Shintaro for the Masks of Greed and Brutality that can bring back Lloyd and Akita, with Plundar, Vania, and Prince Morgan leaving with them, while Richard, Alizah, and Liam recover The Mask of Ferocity from Borg Tower, to Resurrect Morro, just as Kai tries to fight back and fails ( Miserably ) and he then sends The Fire Mech at The Jade Empress in attempt to recover The Oni's Maps after realizing Eric has them. . .

February 22nd, 8:34 a.m.
"I'm still not sure if If all of my Bitterness and Anger towards Lydia is gone for what happened at The Oni Temple, but my Dad's Madness is out of control, and I know right now, if Lydia dies, then so will I, even If I don't trust her, or love her, and perhaps have built up a huge hatred towards her, she's held me captive, and it's made me live a lot longer than I would have if I stayed with my Dad, and I know I can't lose her now, even if I'm gonna be forced to bring the fight back to her. . ."
The Fire Mech appeared a short time ago and began attacking, with Liv thinking it's being controlled, but if only they could see who was flying the Mech.
Montgomery was using The Mask of Violence and it started a Blood Rain, but now they were boxed in by Clouds and Red Lightning.
Montgomery : This is going Well.
Lydia : Sarcasm is not helping!
Person : Neither is your wrath, Princess!
Charlie : Liv, nobody's remotely controlling the Mech, my Dad's using it!
Liv : Kai, this is has to stop!
Kai : Oh it will stop, once my nephew hands over the book!
Eric : Not a Chance!
Kai : It's either the Maps, or the Princess.
Charlie : How about neither!
Charlie grabbed Eric's Spear and threw it at the Mech and it grazed the Metal and caused a few sparks.
Charlie : Dad, I may not agree with Lydia's Motives, but your Madness isn't any better, and it's going to stop now!
Plundar : Get him!
The Oni's Mercenaries charged, just as Kai sent the Mech into the air, and began firing at the ship with Lasers.
Queen Vania : Was Kai always this crazy?
Liv : My Guess, if this much Madness is driving through him, then yes.
Just then, Kai threw the Mech's Sword and it cut the sails.
Lydia : I think we needed that.
Charlie : Liv, I may still not trust her, but if this is gonna work, we can't let me Dad get his hands on her, Liddy stay back and take this.
Charlie handed Lydia her Silver Dagger, but she was confused.
Lydia : But I told you, the Oni Mask of Agitation's Magic is what helped me do all of that at the Temple, and all I did was wear it, I don't know how to fight!
Charlie : You want to Live, Right?!
Lydia stared at Charlie as he tried to use his powers.
Plundar : Because of this Blood Rain, we can't see a thing.
Charlie : Lydia!
Lydia and Charlie both used Creation and it made a huge golden light above the ship, and the light was following them.
Charlie : Get the Ship, Moving!
Vania nodded, and tried to steer the ship, but the Mech was too fast for them to Outrun.
Charlie used Montgomery's energy, and fired at the Mech, and while it stunned Kai, it didn't stop him.
With Kai landing on the Mech, and aiming the Laser Gun that the Mech had on it's hand.
Kai : End this now, Charlie!
Charlie : Ending this, is not my Choice!
Kai : Then I'll end it myself!
Kai grabbed The Mech's Sword and tried attacking, but Siddie and Killow kept using brute force to try and knock him down.
Killow did so, but Kai grabbed him, and threw him into Morgan and Alex.
Kai : I told you, If I had to put the "Princess" down, I would, if you don't give me that book, then I will!
Kai fired the Mech's Laser Cannon at one of the thrusters, and the ship almost went down.
Lydia : I think we needed that.
Charlie : Don't let my Dad get the other thruster, stop him!
Kai kept firing the Mech's Laser Guns at The Oni's Mercenaries, and tried to catch Eric since he had the Manuscript.
After stopping the others with the Mech, Charlie tried moving forward to stop Kai.
Kai : I'm warning you Charlie, stand aside, or fall with her!
Charlie : You're letting your Madness get control of you Dad, and I'm sorry, but this has to be done!
Kai then used the Mech and threw Charlie out of the way, and was about to strike Lydia.
Lydia : *Scream*
Person : Target's Locked.
Person 2 : Then Fire!
Just then, Lasers started firing at Kai, and he looked up to see Alex's Flying Speeder, and Hazel's Samurai X Mech.
Brenden : It's Hazel and Nya!
Hazel was flying around the ship firing Lasers at Kai, while Nya jumped onto The Jade Empress, and since Maya was on the back of the Jet, she got control of it once Nya jumped.
Nya : Stop this, Kai!
Kai : No!
Kai used The Mech's Sword and hit Nya, and it sent her flying into the Bridge.
Eric : Good lord.
Montgomery then ran below the deck leaving Lydia confused.
Kai was about to turn his direction back to Charlie before Eric pulled something out his jacket.
Eric : Charlie!
Charlie looked and saw Eric with the Manuscript, just as Kai was about to hit Eric, he threw it to Charlie.
Charlie jumped over the Mech's Sword and grabbed it, and he put it in his ninja suit.
Kai : Give it, Son.
Charlie : I can't Dad, not like this!
Kai : Fine!
Kai was going to hit Charlie off the ship, when Maya hit Kai with the head of the Flying Speeder, knocking him over and the Jet went plummeting down into the storm, with Alex groaning.
Princess Alex : There goes a perfectly good jet, Thanks for that, Maya!
Maya : Sorry!
Kai stabilized the Mech, and got back up but he lost a Sword, and he used the other to try and hit Charlie.
Slicing the Sword down, which Charlie ducked under, and dodged hit when Kai swung the Sword at the Mast, after missing one more hit, Charlie ran up the Sword onto the Mech, and used his Mace to try and break the Mech.
After landing some good hits, the Mace wasn't enough to break through all the Metal, Kai threw Charlie off the Mech, and made Charlie drop his Mace.
Charlie : Dad, Stop!
Kai : I warned you if you didn't give me the Maps, Charlie!
Charlie : No!
Kai pulled the sword back, and was about to slice Charlie, and Lydia ran to him with the dagger, and hit the sword out of the way.
Charlie : You... Saved Me.
Lydia looked at Charlie, and he actually smiled at her, making it her turn to be shocked as she smiled back.
Kai : I'm not done yet.
Leaving the Sword, Kai used the Mech's hand, to Grab Lydia
Lydia : *Scream*
Charlie : Dad, what are you doing?!
Lydia : Charlie!
Lydia tried swinging her arms and legs to break free of the hand on Kai's Mech, but it wasn't any use, and he jumped off the ship with her.
Charlie : Lydia!
Liv immediately sprung into action, and grabbed her daggers, and got Plundar's attention, and he jumped off the Ship.
Charlie grabbed his Mace and jumped as well.
Liv was about to when Montgomery got Liv's attention.
Montgomery : Aunt Liv!
Liv : What?!
Montgomery took off the Mask, and threw something at Liv, and it was Lydia's Clothes.
Liv nodded and she jumped off the ship to help her niece
Maya : What was Kai thinking?!
Eric : Nothing, that's what!
Nya : Young Man, we're not done with you yet.
Brenden : Can we focus on stabilizing the ship before a Maser of Water Argument?!
Maya : Yea, let's do that.
Maya, Nya, and Eric went to help the others keep the Ship from crashing, but with the sails torn, and a thruster gone, it wasn't easy. . .

On The Mech. . .
Charlie, Plundar, and Liv landed on the Mech, and Charlie began attacking Kai.
Charlie : Dad, you have to stop this!
Kai : I told you, the only way to stop this, was to stop Lydia!
Charlie : Sorry about this Dad, but you're doing the wrong thing, at the wrong time!
Charlie swung his Mace into the Mech, and then sent it straight into the middle of the Mech,
The Hand of the Mech loosened a little bit and the arm shook, frightening Lydia.
Lydia : *Scream*
Kai then ejecting from it, back up to the ship.
Charlie : Okay, for a second time, I didn't think this through.
Liv : Well you fighting against your Dad, I know how that feels.
Plundar : Not the Time!
The Mech continued falling and Charlie went to free Lydia from The Fire Mech's Hand.
Lydia : We, We're-We're Gonna-
Charlie : Look at me Lydia, we're getting out of this, you hear Me!
Charlie then used his Mace to pry Lydia from the Mech's hand, and wrapped his arms around her waist to keep her from falling and he pulled her up to the Mech's Chest.
Lydia grabbed the Manuscript from Charlie, and saw that the pages folded out into bigger maps.
Lydia : The Maps, since there's more than one, maybe we can use them to parachute down.
Plundar : I love Crazy Ideas, but is this supposed to be a Cartoon, that'll never work!
Lydia : It worked for Charlie!
Charlie : Yea, well I wasn't thinking that through either!
Lydia screamed as the Mech continued falling, and falling through the clouds, Liv could see they were starting to see the ground though they were still high up.
Liv remembered her promise and she had Plundar open the Mech, Liv wrapped her arms around her niece's waist, and carried her to put her inside of the Mech.
Once she did that, Liv put Lydia's Princess Clothes ( Which she used for her Civilian Outfit ) Inside the cockpit of the Mech with her, to soften the landing.
Lydia : Aunt Liv, what are you doing?!
Liv : I'm keeping my Promise...
Charlie : The Mech will break your fall Lydia.
Lydia : But what about you?!
Plundar : Sorry Princess, that's not happening.
Charlie : There's only room for one Lydia.
Lydia : No Charlie, I need you!
Charlie let his shock sink in after hearing those words, and he was sure Lydia was shocked that she even said that.
Charlie : And we need those Maps.
Charlie grabbed The Manuscript and jumped, and Liv grabbed Plundar's hand and used her Dragon.
Lydia screamed as the Mech continued falling, and Charlie saw the Mech go down.
Charlie : Who am I kidding, I didn't think this through either.
Charlie opened the Manuscript and had the maps unfold so he could try and Parachute with them, and since it was bigger it worked better, but it wasn't a huge improvement.
The four of them went through the Clouds, and Lydia crashed when the Mech hit the ground, and Charlie hit a tree and one of the branches knocked him out. . .
Plundar and Liv landed, and she went to see if Lydia was okay, while Plundar went to Charlie.
Lydia opened her eyes after she saw she was still alive, and Liv pried the cockpit opened, grabbed her niece by her waist, and spun around with Lydia in her arms, which actually made Lydia laugh.
Lydia : *Laughing*
Liv : You okay, Lydia?
Lydia : Yes, I'm fine.
Liv : Good.
Liv kissed her niece's cheek, and let her down, and Lydia immediately leaned over into the cockpit, and grabbed her clothes.
Lydia saw her Yellow Overalls, her Old Gold Jacket with the hood, and her White Shirt with the Secret Ninja Force logos.
Lydia : I'm not turning back my chance to make amends, now's my time. . .
Lydia used Spinjitzu and she saw her Oni's Mercenary Clothes in her hands instead of her Civilian Outfit.
She looked down, and instead of being in Forest Green leather boots, her feet were in her Yellow Overalls again, and she looked at her arms and saw them to be in the Overalls, and the sleeves of her Old Gold jacket rather than a spiky black leather jacket, and looked at her chest to see her shirt, that Liv said it was for her to signal others that she was a girl to fight beside others who stood for what was right in Ninjago. . .
Lydia : Only one thing to do.
Liv then put Lydia's other clothes in her backpack,and they ran over to Plundar and Charlie.
Liv : Is he okay?
Plundar : I think so, his pulse is him, the tree just knocked him out.
Charlie : *Groaning*
Liv : He's coming too.
Charlie was waking up and he woke up to see Lydia wearing her Civilian Clothes again, and she smiled and reached for his hands.
Princess Lydia : Still breathing?
Charlie actually smiled as he grabbed Lydia's hand and she pulled him up.
Charlie : Yea, I'm okay... Oh who am I kidding that felt like a one ton dumbbell.
Lydia giggled at hearing Charlie say that, and much to her and Charlie's surprise, she hugged him, after letting the shock leave his mind, Charlie returned the hug, and he wasn't smiling at the Moment, but at least he wasn't frowning either.
Princess Lydia : Charlie. . .
Charlie : I understand Lydia, we'll talk about this Later.
Princess Lydia : Fair enough, here.
Lydia grabbed The Maps and handed them to Charlie, after about 4 minutes of refolding them to fit inside the book.
Plundar : Where the heck are we?
Liv and Lydia stood up and saw they were standing near a tree with tea leaves on it.
Princess Lydia : I've seen this before, it's a Yellow Tea Tree.
Charlie : Are you a Tea Wizard like Mystake and Wu.
Liv : You could say that Charlie, Lloyd and Lydia love tea as much as they do, or for Lydia, perhaps even more.
Charlie : Ouch.
Lydia gasped and hit Charlie's shoulder and it make him chuckle.
Plundar : What's that?
Plundar pointed to a building in the distance, and Liv knew where they were.
Liv : Steep Wisdom.
Princess Lydia : You mean the Tea Farm, Uncle Wu owned when he planned to "Retire"?
Liv : Yea, you want to find a place of peace, this is it.
Charlie : Why are we still standing here then?
Liv : Shortly after The Plague Doctor, Wu decided to live on the Tea Farm, leaving Lloyd, Me, Pixal, Nya and Charlie in charge of the Monastery.
Charlie : Yea, though it's only really used for Ninja Purposes, not really as a headquarters, because with how long our Parents used it, it would be way too obvious.
Just then, Charlie's phone went off.
Charlie : Hold on... Hello?
Nya : Charlie, It's Me.
Charlie : Oh, Hi Aunt Nya.
Nya : Are you okay?
Charlie : Yea, we're fine, what happened to my Dad?
Nya : Eric and Brenden locked him in the cell on the ship, I have no clue what's gotten into Kai, but one thing is for sure, these problems aren't going to end unless Lloyd is brought back... and soon.
Charlie : Yea, I guessed you would say that, but I don't think that's something I'm going to be a part of.
Liv : What?
Charlie : You guys heard me, I'll help find The Mask of Death, but the rest is up to you, because everything my Dad's Madness has told me, is that I need to reflect on what's happened to me over the past five months.
Princess Lydia : Charlie?
Charlie : What?!
Lydia then pointed to her neck, and Charlie nodded knowing he needed to give his story.
Charlie : Aunt Nya, we gotta go, but we'll call you once we make progress on The Mask of Death.
Nya : Okay, be careful.
Charlie : I will.
Charlie ended the call, and his phone away.
Charlie : Maybe I should tell you guys, and just so you know... The Sons of Garmadon, aren't the reason my Dad was in Kryptarium.
Liv : Why?
Charlie then sits down on a bench that was near the pathway, and he decided to say how he got that scar. . .
November 19th, 2044. . .
Brenden Kenway's 38th Birthday
"It was in the Middle of November, on the 38th Birthday of Brenden Kenway, I was aboard The Jade Empress, hearing about a disturbance at Kryptarium Prison, but it was a lot worse than that."
Brenden : Okay Charlie, we're about two miles out.
Charlie : Alright.
"It was supposed to just be a "Disturbance", not knowing what was actually awaiting me, I had Landon, Harmony, Hazel, and Liam with me, in case if it was more, but I should have had more help for a night like that"
"What happened to you Charlie?"
"I'm getting there Princess."
The Ship was One Mile away from the Prison, and a tremendous explosion came from the front entrance.
"Only then did I realize, it wasn't a disturbance... The Sons of Garmadon committed an all-out assault to try and free Garmadon.
Charlie : We need to get down there.
Charlie, Liam, Hazel, Landon and Harmony jumped off the ship and used their dragons ( Except Hazel who used the Samurai X Mech )
"We Made it to the entrance, but it was a total nightmare, the bikers were going on, guards not coming out, just trying to defend the entrance, they couldn't find a way into the Maximum Security section, because it was locked down, but sadly, Garmadon wasn't my worry... My Dad was."
"What?"
"Charlie, what do you Mean?"
"I'm getting there."
Charlie and The others made it inside the Prison, and made it to the main section where The Sons of Garmadon's Comrades were, but they suddenly saw a huge destructive blast come from beneath them.
"Garmadon broke his way through the roof of the Maximum Security, straight to where he could have broken out his comrades, and my Dad was at the Prison too."
"Why?"
"He was at the Prison discussing something with Noble, but how and why I had no clue, but the second he saw Garmadon, it's almost like anger was growing inside of him, because it was one week after my Mother disappeared."
Charlie charged at Garmadon and tried to use his Mace to fight back, while Landon and Harmony slowed the Generals.
"My Father was furious, almost as if he would have killed Garmadon to get my Mother's location, if he hadn't hurt me in the process."
"How did he do that?"
Kai : Where is she, Garmadon?!
Garmadon : Who?!
Kai : Skylor!
Garmadon : The Master of Amber is of no use to you, or your Son, she's not coming back to you!
Kai : Where is She?!
Ultraviolet threw her Sai towards Charlie, but Kai grabbed it, and tried to use it on Garmadon.
"It was almost like my Dad was more focused on fighting or perhaps killing Garmadon rather than helping Me, and I wanted to find my Mother as well, but not like that."
Charlie : Dad, Stop!
Kai : Charlie, he's the one who captured your Mother!
Garmadon : I've been locked away, how could I have done that, it doesn't sound like Me!
Kai : Shut up!
"My Dad used his powers and it threw Garmadon near the door, as he stood up and was about to get tased, My Dad charged at him, and I was trying to stop my Dad from doing something wrong."
"What did he do?"
Kai charged at Garmadon, and tried to use Ultraviolet's Sai, but he missed.
Garmadon fired his destructive powers at the blade of the Sai, which was actually Chronosteel so it absorbed the power.
"The Chronosteel Blade of Ultraviolet's Sai absorbed the destructive energy, and my Dad. . . he wasn't careful."
Kai quickly turned around to try and swing at Garmadon, but he dodge, and Kai sent the tip of the Sai, straight across Charlie's Neck.
Kai : CHARLIE!
"I immediately fell, and was starting to lose the blood inside of me, and because of Garmadon's Powers didn't fade away completely after hitting the blade, it made me absorb some of his powers, which Is why my eye and my scar turned purple during our little "spar" back at the Royal Palace."
"Did you Make it?!"
"Plundar, if I didn't make it I wouldn't be here... and anyways, the Commissioner went straight inside to rearrest Garmadon and the bikers who didn't get out, but I was in the hospital for 4 days, and needed throat surgery because of what that blade did... I woke up to the Commissioner telling me my Father was arrested for attempting to kill a prisoner, and for harming their own child. . . the day that bandage was taken off my neck, there was a huge scar, and my veins turned bright purple, as the destructive powers were absorbed into the blood veins in my neck."
"What happened then?"
"Nothing. . . I simply tried to stay beside Liam and protect Ninjago City since then, the darkness in my veins have mostly gone away, but the scar... it's a permanent memory to me, that at Kryptarium Prison, my Dad made me suffer a Living Nightmare."
Now. . .
Charlie : Now That's the whole story... and my Dad's anger hasn't gone down one bit since. . . That's why I'm not agreeing with Lydia's Motives, but I cant agree with his anger either.
Liv : So what are you gonna do?
Charlie : My Dad knows that I'm going to fight back against you guys, and he's right, but I still owe a debt, and if that's the case, consider it to be The Mask of Death.
Princess Lydia : I know my Uncle Wu isn't going to be of any use to us, especially if he hears that my Daddy is dead, I still highly doubt he'll agree to this.
Liv : Might as well see if he has anything useful up there.
Lydia then hugged Charlie, and to his shock Lydia's frowning wasn't from annoyance or her anger, she felt Charlie's Pain. . .
Charlie returned the hug, and let a few tears leave his eyes.
Charlie : Liddy. . .
Princess Lydia : I'm not Mad at you Charlie... I can't be, your Father hurt both of us far more than I could have ever blamed you for what happened to my Parents, I'm not going to blame you, ever again... for this.
Charlie gave a small smile, as he stopped fighting back and let the tears leave his eyes, and he sighed and nodded.
Charlie : Thank you.
Princess Lydia : And the Overalls, The Jacket, the Shirt itself, all of this is something I will return too again Charlie, but not now.
Liv handed Lydia her backpack with her Oni's Mercenary clothes, and she did spinjitzu to put them on, and Liv held Lydia's Civilian Outfit in her backpack.
Charlie : Only one thing do before I go... Let's get that Mask.
Lydia nodded and the four of them walked towards Steep Wisdom... but there was somebody in the shadows...
Lydia turned around and saw somebody run off, and they dropped something.
Liv : What the?
Lydia : What is that?
Lydia ran over to the item, and saw it was a framed picture of her and her brother, Montgomery was sitting on top of his Mother's shoulders with his bat, and Lydia was wearing her Princess dress, and her golden headpiece ( Minus the Kabuki Makeup ) and she was being carried in her father's arms.
Lydia looked up and saw the figure that was running, and their black hood came off, and Lydia saw white hair.
Lydia : Mommy?
Next Time on The Masks of Garmadon : Liv, Lydia, Charlie, and Plundar walk into Steep Wisdom for a quick stop, before they decide to head out in search of The Mask of Death, before they get a shocking discovery about The Mask of Brutality, and see there's actually Two Masks to recover, and not just One, while The Oni's Mercenaries make a stop in Ignacia, and grill Kai for his Madness, and they decided to keep him aboard Brenden's Ship until they're work is finished, while Lydia is left in shock that it may have been Harumi that was spying on them, which drives Lydia to find out, with Liv being forced to go back on her promise and head to Ignacia to ask for help, leaving Plundar with the kids, but something about The Attack on The Royal Palace still doesn't add up in Lydia's Mind, and when it does add up, it shocks her, thinking who the leader may be. . .
Is Harumi alive? Will Charlie be forced to fight Lydia? Will Lydia find The Mask of Death?
