Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy or the Avengers. I am only borrowing them.
For Buffy this takes immediately after the last episode. For the Avengers sometime after the Avenger movie.
Buffy sat behind the driver's seat giving Giles directions to where they would be staying. They had been heading to Los Angeles to stay with Angel when he called Giles cell, because Buffy's cell was now crushed in the sinkhole that is Sunnydale, to tell him not to come. That Angel Investigation was under attack, but it wasn't anything they couldn't handle. That left them with a bus full of slayers, who were mostly injured, and no place to go. Buffy was reluctant to share this part of her life with them. Her mother and father had gone through great lengths to keep it private and out of the media. Only a handful of people knew who Buffy really was, but they really needed someplace safe to recuperate in. They had been driving for forty minutes when Buffy told Giles to turn down the road that would lead to the house. When the house comes into view most eyes on the bus went wide at the size of the place.
"Pull in over there." Buffy points to an area closest to the house.
Giles brought the bus to a stop where Buffy had pointed. He opened the door as Buffy moved to get out. The others followed helping those who are too wounded to walk on their own. They made it to the front door and Buffy tried to open the door, but it was locked.
"Doesn't look like anyone's home? What are we going to do now?" Xander asked.
"Jarvis let us in please. We've got wounded that need attention. It will just be for tonight. I wouldn't have brought them here, but we didn't have anywhere else to go."
Buffy said looking up at the camera by the door. Buffy heard the lock unclick and the door opened.
"Thank you, Jarvis." Buffy entered and motioned for the others to follow.
"Sir will not be happy that you brought them here." The voice spoke.
"I'll deal with Tony when he gets here. Where is Tony?" Buffy asked as she led the group through the house and down the hall.
"Sir is currently away on a mission that is close to being complete. I expect you'll be hearing from him soon."
"I know. Can you get Dr. Casey here?"
"I've already called her. She'll be here in ten minutes." Jarvis told her.
"Good. Can you order enough sleeping bags and pillows for the girls to sleep in the rec room?"
"I just finished putting in the order and they will arrive within the hour. I also took the liberty of ordering dinner for everyone."
"Jarvis you're the best. Thank you." Buffy said as they entered the rec room.
"You're quite welcome Miss."
"Put Rona and Lydia in the first bedroom across the hall, and Samantha and Shannon in the one next to that one. There are two bedrooms at the end of the hall. One is for Giles and the other can go to Willow or Faith. The rest of you will be sleeping in here once the pillows and sleeping bags arrive."
"Are you sleeping in here with us?" Xander asked.
"No, I have my own room upstairs. There's a full bathroom down the hall and each bedroom has a bathroom in it. I suggest everyone get cleaned up before dinner. If you need anything just ask Jarvis."
"Buffy who exactly is Jarvis and why haven't we met him in person yet?" Giles asked.
"Jarvis is an AI Tony built. He pretty much runs this place, and makes sure Tony eats and sleeps when he's here. All you must do is say his name and he will assist you. Won't you Jarvis?"
"Indeed, until I am told not to by you or sir when he returns. Dr. Casey has arrived."
"Let her in and send her back here."
Buffy responded and it wasn't long before they heard the doctor's shoes walking across the floor. A woman of medium build with brown hair that was pulled into a bun came to a stop by Buffy.
"Thank you for coming Dr. Casey. I hope we didn't pull you out of something important."
"Just a staff meeting that I was instantly excused from when I told them that I was needed at the home of our top investor. What do you have for me?"
"I have four girls in two of the guest rooms nursing a variety of injuries. Please take care of them and anyone else who might need your services."
"Does that include you?" Dr. Casey asked. "Don't think I don't notice how you've been wincing. Go get cleaned up and I'll meet you in your room when I'm done here."
Buffy just nodded and made her way out of the room and the opposite direction to where the elevator is to take her to the floor her room is on.
Tony Stark and Thor Odinson landed on the front lawn of Tony's Malibu estate. Tony was eager to see Buffy, having not seen her in months, and wanting to make sure she was alright. Even though he had talked to Buffy and gotten a rundown on her injures from Jarvis, Tony needed to see her for himself. Having heard about Sunnydale's collapse upon completion of their mission had Tony anxious. Tony's armor had started returning to the mansion the moment he and Thor landed. Once it was completely off, Tony and Thor made their way inside via the front door. Hearing the rec room television, Tony figured Buffy was in there watching TV or a movie. Both he and Thor were shocked when they saw the room was filled with teenage girls in sleeping bags on the floor, and the Scoobies sitting on the furniture that was pushed back against the wall.
"What the hell are you doing in my house?"
Everyone looked up with shocked expression at seeing who was standing in the doorway. After doing an impression of a fish for several seconds, Giles shook himself out of his amazement and spoke.
"We're friends of…"
"I know who you are…" Tony cut him off. "…And you are most definitely not her friends. Jarvis where is Buffy?"
"Miss has fallen asleep on the couch in your lab. Do you wish me to wake her?"
"How long has she been asleep?"
"Thirty minutes." Jarvis answered.
"No let her sleep. Let me know when she wakes up. Has she eaten anything J?"
"Miss ate three Oreo cookies from your stash with half a glass of milk. I ordered pizza for the others, but she decided to wait for you to eat more as she did not want to be in the company of those that are present."
"The others will be here soon. When they arrive order from that Chinese restaurant Buffy likes. If she isn't awake by then we'll wake her once the food has arrived."
"Yes sir." Jarvis said as Tony turned his attention back to the Scoobies and the minis.
"Now as I was saying you are not her friends because if you were you would have been there for her when she became depressed after the death of Joyce and Dawn. Instead you were too busy with your own lives to see that Buffy was hiding how devastated she really was. If you were really her friends, you wouldn't have kicked her out of her own home. A home she let you all live in rent free."
"What!" Thor bellowed.
"I guess I forgot to tell you guys about that one, but it gets better. One of her two best friends over there did a spell that kept Buffy from re-entering her house upon her return that night. What appalls me more than anything is the man who she looked up to as a second father let them do this to her."
Giles opened his mouth to speak then promptly closed it upon seeing the glares from Tony and Thor.
"Leave Giles alone. Buffy's was being reckless. She wasn't making good decisions." Xander told them. "She was fucking Spike and people were dying."
"She was fucking Spike because he was the only one that was there for her. Did she really love him? No probably not but he made her forget being depressed if only for a little while." Tony told them.
"Well Mr. Pot I don't remember seeing you being here for her." Kennedy sneered.
"I would have been here every day if Buffy asked me to, but I saw her every weekend for the next three months."
"I thought Buffy had been seeing her father on those weekend trips to LA." Giles said finally speaking.
"Shows how well you all were paying attention to Buffy's life. Hank hasn't seen Buffy let alone talk to her on the phone in years. He didn't even have the decency to come to Joyce's funeral."
"And you did?" Kennedy scoffed.
"I was there. I even spoke to Buffy to see how she was doing."
"Sir the other Avengers have just arrived on the roof." Jarvis interrupted.
"Good. Get their food order and send them in here. I'm sure they would have a few choice words for Buffy's friends."
A few minutes later the rest of the Avengers were entering the already crowded rec room and headed to stand next to Tony and Thor.
"Tony, is everything okay? Where is Buffy? Is she alright?" Steve Rogers A.K.A Captain America asked.
"I'm going to answer your questions in reverse Cap. Buffy took a slash to her stomach and some bruised ribs…" Tony paused when he heard a few members of his team gasp. "…But she was checked out by a doctor and will be fine in a few days. She's currently sleeping on my couch in my lab, and these wonderful people are supposedly Buffy's friends."
Steve, Bruce, Clint, and Natasha all looked toward the Scoobies and new slayers. Clint and Natasha eyes were staring at Willow as their hands hovered over their weapons.
"Why are they staring at me like that? Do I have something on my face?" Willow asked Kennedy who shrugged her shoulders.
"They're assessing whether or not you're a threat." Tony told her with a knowing smile.
"Me? A threat? I'm no threat." Willow said her eyes going wide.
"Says the woman who almost ended the world using dark magic." Clint spoke.
"Buffy told you about that? How could she?" Willow asked looking deeply hurt that Buffy had betrayed her.
"Buffy didn't say anything to us. She didn't have to. You put yourself on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar." Natasha told them. "We'd been watching you for months, ever since you tried to do that spell to bring Dawn back. Then when you went all Dark Witch, we, meaning the Avengers, were sent to stop you and bring you in."
"Then how come Willow's not sitting in a cell?" Xander asked.
"You owe Buffy for keeping you out the cell we kept Loki in. She convinced not only the Head of S.H.I.E.L.D but also the World Security Council that Mr. Giles and the Devon Coven in England would be able to rehabilitate you." Tony told them. "She had your back even though you didn't have hers."
"Why would the Head of S.H.I.E.L.D and World Security Council listen to Buffy?" Willow asked. "Not that I'm not grateful."
"Unlike you all I won't betray Buffy's trust. That's her story to tell if she wants to tell you." Tony told them.
"My friends I feel that I must inform you that the Dark Witch and her friends ejected and magically kept the Lady Buffy from her home."
"What?" The Avengers cried out at once causing most everyone to wince.
"They kicked Buffy out of her own home? Why?" Steve asked looking toward the Scooby gang. Tony recounted the story Buffy had told him. By the time Tony had finished all the Avengers were staring at the Scoobies with angry looks especially Bruce who had patches of skin turning a light green.
"Bruce as much I love when you let the Big Guy out, I don't think Buffy would appreciate him smashing her so called friends." Tony said being the first of the Avengers to notice Bruce's green tint.
"I need to get out of here." Bruce growled.
"Why don't you go to the upstairs rec room? Do whatever you need to do to keep the Big Guy from coming out. We'll be along once the food has arrived." Tony told him.
Everyone watched as Bruce made his way back to the elevator. Thanks to Jarvis the doors opened before he even hit the button. Once the elevator doors closed Clint turned toward Tony.
"Dude, why are they even here?"
"Buffy brought them here it must have been because they had nowhere else to go. They can stay tonight but by ten A.M. they'll be out of my house one way or another. Do I make myself clear?"
"Perfectly Mr. Stark." Giles said with a nod.
The tension in the room was so thick that it would take the scythe to cut through it. Tony left the Rec room with the Avengers following. Jarvis informed them that the food was there. Tony went to get Buffy while Steve, Clint, and Thor took possession of the food and Natasha signed for it. Tony took the elevator down to the lab. When the elevator doors, opened he could see Buffy sitting upright with her head resting on the back of the couch. A blanket had been carefully draped over her and the lights were turned down low. Tony entered the lab to hear music playing at normal level. Dum-E, You, and Butterfinger rolled over to Tony to greet him.
"Daddy's home." Tony spoke softly. "Awesome job taking care of Buffy for me. Go and clean up and get the lab ready for later tonight."
Tony made his way over to the couch and sat down beside Buffy. He gently shook her knee while calling her name. Buffy eyes opened slowly, and Tony could tell she was a bit disoriented. That was until she spotted Tony.
"What are you doing down here? Your bed not comfortable enough?"
"I was waiting for you. I figured since you were flying in the suit that I'd wait for you down here."
"I guess I forgot to tell you about the newest upgrade. I don't need to remove the suit like that anymore. I had Jarvis recall the suit when Thor and I landed on the front lawn."
"Thor's here?"
"Yes, and so are the rest of the Avengers. They're in the 2nd floor rec room with dinner. I had Jarvis order your favorite from that Chinese restaurant you like."
"I guess that means you saw our house guest. Do I need to go upstairs and hide the bodies?"
"No, they're all fine. Why did you bring them here? Do they know the truth?" Tony asked.
"No, none of them know that you're my brother. I didn't want to bring them here, but I didn't know where else to go. Angel's place was under attack so we couldn't go there, and I had four girls that were hurt pretty badly."
"It's okay Buffy. I figured it was something like that, but they need to go in the morning. They're not good for Bruce's anger issues. He almost let the other guy out when Thor spilled the beans about them kicking you out."
"Works for me. They should be able to go to Angel's in the morning. I'll call him after dinner."
"What about you? Are you going with them or can I finally talk you into living with me?"
"Sir Captain Rogers wants to know if you and Miss are coming or should they start without you?" J.A.R.V.I.S interrupted before Buffy could answer.
"Tell him we're on our way. Come on Tony, I'm hungry." Buffy said pushing the blanket off and standing up.
"Me too. Let's go before they eat it all."
Tony and Buffy said goodbye to the bots before leaving the lab together. Tony let Buffy walk out first and that was when he noticed the shirt she was wearing.
"Nice shirt. I was wondering where that shirt had gotten too."
"I think I borrowed it the last time I was here. One of the bots must have put it in with my clothes."
They entered the elevator and Buffy hit the button that would take them to the second floor.
