Chapter 24 : North Valentine
Last Time on The Masks of Garmadon : Eric and Hazel arrive to help Charlie and Lydia attempt an escape, with Lydia, Harumi, Alizah, Nya, Skylor, Charlie, Richard, Killow, Misako, Dareth and Mystake making it out, and Hazel getting shot down by Garmadon, just as he attempts to crush the Battle Wagon with his foot, only for Lydia to "Speak" to get Grandfather, and he holds back his powers to let Lydia escape, and Eric leaves as well, that same night, Lydia, Harumi, Killow, and Nya look at the TVs near the Canal only to see Gayle Gossip on the News about the Resistance's Base being Raided, and Lydia then burns her Ninja Suit, and Harumi carries her daughter in her arms, just as Misako gives Lydia her jacket to try and use the hood to cover her hair a bit since her white hair is a bit obvious, and while her hair is covered Harumi is glad the gentle smile on her daughter's face is not, as she kisses her cheek, and Dareth tries to shoo away a Rat only to see it's Mystake, with Lydia smiling as she knew what Mystake was, and she decided it was time to tell the others of who she truly is. . .

March 8th - Near Beaches of Polastraits. . .
9:47 a.m.
Journal Entries : Eric and Alex
"March 8th. It's been Seventeen Hours since we stormed the Beach, to break outta these beaches we're pushing inland to secure the Polastraits Village of North Valentine, that's how we'll control these roadways and literally plow our way to the heart and capital of Polastraits' Mount Graystone, the Liberation's coming soon. . ."
The Resistance was out near a beach, after Eric just got back and informed his friends that Hazel was taken out, but they were looking on the bright side.
"Me and the fellas, I would say we're all doing pretty good, not good enough for Trigno, but well nothing is, maybe we'll get to the heart of Polastraits, by the end of the week, but first, we gotta take North Valentine."
Kieran : So, it was Dareth against Karlof?
Montgomery : Karlof would have KO'd Dareth.
Via : No way, and Karlof's Metal, it'd melt him in a heartbeat.
Kieran : They made that guy a poster for the Resistance, he didn't have a choice.
Eric : We've all got a choice Kieran.
Montgomery : You know, my Mother always said-
Kieran : Okay Montgomery that's enough mouth alright, uh what about Vex against Akita?
The others turned as they heard a voice and Eric stood up and hugged the person once they saw who it was.
Princess Alex : If you're talking 2042, my Mommy wins hands down.
Eric hugged Alex and the others were glad to see Alex.
Kieran : Well, look who came back for more.
Eric : Yea, I thought you were out another day Alex.
Princess Alex : Not after I heard the toughest young scamps in Ninjago were about to take North Valentine.
Kieran : Well our playbook's working, at this rate we'll be done before Eric and Nina's Birthday, don't just stand there let's see.
Princess Alex : Alright.
Alex was now wearing her Formling Robes, and she raised the lower part of them to above the lower right side of her waist to let them see the scar, and the stitches from her cut.
Princess Alex : Well?
Kieran : Eh, I've seen worse.
Via : I'm just glad you're okay, Sis.
Just then, Captain Holden, Brenden, and Trigno approached a table where the others were standing in front of it looking at Alex.
Brenden : Glad to see you're back, Alex.
Princess Alex : Great to be back, Daddy.
Captain Holden : Alright kids, we got a unique opportunity here, this is our chance to break into Polastraits, it's not gonna be, the Hedgerows are heavily defended, and we got reports of enemy armor in our area, but if we can hold and secure North Valentine, we own the roadways to Mount Graystone.
Brenden : And if my little girls can take enemy fire and a knife to the gut and come out swinging, then I like our odds just fine.
Via : Me too.
Princess Alex : Always bet on a winner, Daddy.
The group looked up to see the Helicopters, Planes, and Airships flying above them in the Morning Sunlight.
"For Brenden and Captain Holden, shielding us is their noble calling"
Brenden : Let's Move.
"My Daddy always has his noble callings for us, the War just has a habit of getting in the way"
Everybody saw the planes, helicopters, and airships going at high speeds down the roadways attacking The Sons of Garmadon
Montgomery : Yea!
Kieran : Hit 'em hard!
Averill : Send them all down, Resistance!
There was a group of tanks about to head towards the other side of Polastraits, and Alex was over there.
Princess Alex : Mommy, where are you going?
Queen Akita : Your brother and I need to head to the other side for our own mission, I'll come back Sweetheart.
Alex jumped into her mother's arms and hugged her, and Akita kissed her daughter's cheek before kneeling down to let her go.
Princess Alex : I love you, Mommy.
Queen Akita : I love you too Alex.
Alex started walking away and Akita was about to stand up before Alex walked back and kissed her mother's cheek.
Princess Alex : See Mommy, I didn't forget this time.
Queen Akita : I'm happy for that.
Akita hugged Alex one more time before letting her go, and Akita left with Clayton and the others.
Brenden : Alright kids, we're rolling out, let's go, let's go!
The kids were getting onto the T28, which was being used by Romolus.
Trigno walked up and got Alex's attention before she got on the tank.
Trigno : Hey, you know while you were given Healing Tea, a wound like this still takes six weeks to heal.
Princess Alex : I'm ready Lieutenant, you got my word.
Trigno : Oh your word huh, that doesn't mean anything to Me.
Trigno was tapping his hand against the right side of Alex's waist where her wound was, and she tried to stand up straight and look at Trigno through the pain
Trigno : So you're good huh?
Princess Alex : I'm right as rain, Lieutenant.
Trigno looked towards Brenden and Captain Holden then back at Alex.
Trigno : You've got guts Princess, I just don't wanna see 'em.
The three of them got onto a different tank, and Alex made a face showing she was in real pain, and she immediately clutched her hand to her guts as she got on the tank.
Kieran : Hang tight guys, it's gonna get rough.
Montgomery : What else is new?
Romolus : I think Trigno likes you.
Princess Alex : Like this Arctic Fox likes The Gray Whale.
Eric also saw Alex wearing her Arctic Fox headdress, which was just like the White Wolf one that Akita wears with her Robes, and her Royal Clothes as well, since The Royal Family ( well it's a kingdom, that's all there really is to it ) of the Formlings' Kingdom wears there's with their robes as well, except with Alex, she also wears earrings, and attaches a tiara to her Headdress when she's in the heart of the Kingdom, and wearing her Princess clothes.
Eric smiled at Alex when she mentioned his animal form and the tank got moving.
Romolus was above and not inside the tank, standing where the hatch is and looking around, so if enemies came he could just drop through the hatch and fight back.
Princess Alex : Seems like you guys are holding up alright.
Via : Yea little sis, how about yourself?
Princess Alex : I couldn't let you guys have all the Fun.
Romolus : Yea, fun's not allowed under Trigno, you wanna know why he's always riding on you guys, The Storm at Fort Lexington.
Kieran : I lost my best friends there.
Romolus : It earned him an Article 15, and a Demotion, he had to be a hard man, and his Crew and our Men payed the price... that Mission was a fool's bar, a total massacre, the Pirates had no mercy.
Kieran : No kidding, I watched the whole thing from the Fort.
Romolus : Heck we only survived because through all of those Blockades, the Pirates didn't have time to seal the Western Exit, we almost lost everything thanks to that rumbling prick.
Princess Alex : I heard my Daddy still isn't over it.
Romolus : Matter of fact Alex, he was the one who wrote him up, Trigno figures if he make you kids into a model platoon in front of Brenden and Captain Holden, he'll get it scrubbed.
Eric : Only we're doing the Scrubbing.
Romolus : Now you're getting it, that's why he's never gonna give up, he'd kill to have it removed, and it's not like he could to Ronin or Cortes for their actions, because Siddie took them out and took the Glory.
Via : Eh, she deserved it, and that "Bounty Hunter" and The Swaying Man deserved them as well.
Kieran : You'd know what I'd kill for, some decent grub.
Via : You just had you're breakfast for yesterday and this morning Kieran.
Kieran : Hey that may be for you guys and your hunting, but shooting on a shingle doesn't count.
Just then they drove by a small open fire in a crashed jeep and a few unconscious Sons of Garmadon.
Romolus : How about barbecue eh?
Montgomery : Those guys didn't stand a chance.
Kieran : I'm guessing 'no' to the Open Casket.
Eric : Hey that's somebody's son.
Romolus : Nah, it's a Son of Garmadon!
Princess Alex : Eric's right, they're not all bad, I mean how else do you think we were able to take them down at the Temple of Resurrection.
Montgomery : Then we got Chopper, Marco-
Kieran : Alright Greenie.
Via : The Big Man and The Quiet One.
Kieran : See that's more like it.
Montgomery : Then there's the weapons, Mask of Deception, Crazy new Nindroids-
Princess Alex : Awesome Princesses.
Kieran : You guys are killing Me.
Just then they heard what seemed to have been planes.
Via : You guys hear that?
Kieran : It's heading this way!
Romolus : Enemy Planes, inbound!
They destroyed the Tank in front of them and enemies appeared and started firing.
Romolus : Clear the Tanks!
Romolus got into his tank, and the kids got off and ran towards Brenden, Captain Holden, and Trigno who were with another Platoon and were waiting near a line of Cover.
Captain Holden : We have to protect our armor, that's flak fire in the distance, we're gonna capture one of their Anti-Aircraft Elemental Guns and bring down those Planes.
Eric : Let's do it.
Brenden : Alright Eric, you, Via and Alex come with me and well takes the right, everybody else flank left and we'll meet up on the other side of the house, now Move!
Eric, Via, and Alex followed Brenden to the right side around some fallen snow tries, and a huge crater and tried to avoid enemy fire.
Brenden : Keep Moving!
Via : There's a Machine Gun on the Second Floor!
Trigno : We'll take that Machine Gun, keep your team Moving.
Brenden : Let's Go.
Eric and Alex made it past the crater, and got into cover where the bikers were taking cover and firing their Laser Guns from near an ammo station.
Kieran : That Machine Gun's tearing us up!
Brenden's Group got past the fence, and took out the guards in front of the house, and made it to some cover inside.
Brenden : Eric, get upstairs and take that Machine Gun!
Eric : On it!
Eric fired his Elemental Gun at some Bikers on a Makeshift Ramp, and he climbed it.
Eric : Moving to the Second Floor!
Brenden : Get 'em Eric!
Eric fired at the Machine Gun and broke it, and sent the Biker falling out of the window.
Eric : Machine Gun's down, Move up!
The other team on the left side finished the bikers on the second floor.
Trigno : All clear!
Brenden : Push into the fields, we need to rally with our tanks!
Everybody went to the second floor of the house, then made it to the fields behind it.
Trigno : Keep pushing forward!
Averill : Move!
Brenden : We gotta push them back!
The kids kept using their guns, and firing at the Bikers, pushing them back into a treeline.
Trigno : They're on the Run!
Brenden : Keep pushing, don't let them get away!
They kept firing at the Bikers and knocking them out until there were only two left.
Princess Alex : They're surrendering!
Trigno : Hold your fire!
Captain Holden : Kieran and Via secure those prisoners, Eric keep us moving.
Eric took the lead and they ran up a hillside and saw a gun shooting at The Resistance's Air-Vehicles. ( Helicopters, Planes, Small Airships )
Trigno : There's the Flak Gun, we're getting close!
Montgomery : Those planes are killing the tanks.
Brenden : We gotta protect our Armor and take the Flak Gun just behind that last treeline, forty meters out, now let's go!
The Resistance fired at the few guards left in the field, and made their way past the Treeline.
Trigno : There's the Flak Gun, let's deal with these Bikers and help our tanks out.
Eric fired at the Biker on the Flak Gun to keep him from shooting it, and they kept moving towards the Gun.
Brenden : Eric, get on the Flak Gun and take out the planes.
Eric : On it.
Eric got onto the Flak Gun, and they listened to the Radio to hear and see where the Planes were coming from.
Brenden : Those planes are killing the armor, we gotta take 'em down.
Princess Alex : Here they come!
Averill : Two o' clock!
Eric aimed the Flak Gun and fired it to blow the planes out of the sky.
Trigno : They're going down!
Kieran : Bikers on the radio sound upset, they don't know what's happening.
Princess Alex : There's more coming in.
Brenden : Four o' clock!
Eric turned the Flak Gun right and fired at the planes.
Trigno : Great work.
Just then the Planes started firing at the Flak Gun.
Brenden : They're on to us!
Montgomery : Sons of Garmadon attacking our Position!
Captain Holden : Bring them down, Eric!
Eric fired the Flak Gun at the planes flying around the Flak Gun and attacking his team's position.
Brenden : Great shot, Eric.
Eric : Thanks, this is easy for Me, I've got the good aim.
Trigno : Eleven o' clock, high!
Eric aimed the gun up and fired at the Planes again.
Princess Alex : Is that all you got?!
Trigno : Not yet.
Averill : Three o' clock!
Eric fired at the Planes flying past the treeline, and shot them down.
Captain Holden : More planes at our eleven.
Eric kept firing, but more of the planes kept appearing every time he shot one down.
Brenden : There's too many!
Trigno : Stay sharp, Eric.
Just then they saw Three planes flying straight at them.
Trigno : Shoot 'em Eric!
Eric fired the gun and one plane flew only about twenty feet above them before it exploded into a broken house behind them.
Brenden : That's all of them, Good job, Eric.
Just then a few trees fell down and it was the tanks.
Princess Alex : Hey, it's Romolus.
Captain Holden : Romolus, you okay?
Romolus : They took out two of the tanks in the ambush, but we hit them back hard, those holdouts are filled with Elemental Cannons up ahead, we gotta clean them out.
Brenden : Alright then, Trigno, take a fire team through the Orchard and find an over-watch position, after you soften those cannons, Captain Holden and I will lead the Main Assault with Romolus.
Romolus : Yes Sir.
Trigno : Alright Eric and Alex, you're with me, Come on!
Trigno led his team towards a short stone wall that had a gate and he kicked it open, and they went towards the Orchard.
Princess Alex : I really like the Orchards that people have here in my home, makes me glad that people learn to live and love the cold weather in Polastraits.
Trigno : Sounds like you're a real angel in this place Alex.
Kieran : Romolus said Elemental Cannons, what the hell's that?
Montgomery : Sons of Garmadon artillery, tank killers, didn't you read the briefing Kieran?
Kieran : What the hell are we supposed to do against Tank Killers?
Via : I was wondering that myself.
The group turned right and went through an open fence into the orchard and they saw a crashed plane.
Montgomery : It's one of ours, it's a Sky-49.
Eric : Darn it, I wish I had gotten to that gun sooner.
Via : Can't blame yourself, Eric.
Just then they walked past a tree, and they saw civilians hanging from the tree, as if they were hanged by the neck.
Princess Alex : Those are my people, this is a War Crime!
Kieran : No kidding, Princess... we're fighting Sons of Garmadon here.
Trigno : Over here, we got a vantage point!
Everybody ran over to the over-watch position and saw the Sons of Garmadon in a long trench firing Elemental Cannons, how they were working was the question.
Trigno : There's Romolus and his boys, they're heading right into hell.
Montgomery : We've gotta silence those Cannons.
Via : Got eyes on two Cannons, take out the crews.
Eric : Here Alex.
Eric handed Alex a x4 Scope for her Elemental Gun and she attached it.
Trigno : Take out the Guns.
Alex used her powers to slow the Enemy Fire, and she then shot at Large Canisters of Sleeping Gas to take out the crews.
Trigno : Great shooting.
Eric : Both crews are down, the tanks are moving up.
Trigno : They're surrendering, Romolus secure these prisoners.
Just then Kieran looked towards the top of the hill.
Kieran : There's my Dad, their alright.
Trigno : Let's Go.
The group made it to the top of the hill, and caught a few bikers along the way, and they made it.
Eric : Captain.
Captain Holden : Hold On, Commander approaching.
They looked and saw Paul approaching them in a Jeep.
Paul : Alright listen up, Rhona and Mary, and the Second Platoon is under assault near the church, they need ammo and fire support, send a squad immediately.
Captain Holden : Paul, We're already stretched pretty thin.
Paul : Then stretch thinner.
Captain Holden : Yes Sir.
Paul then drove off back to where he came from, and Captain Holden rolled his eyes.
Captain Holden : Crud.
Trigno : We can take the Jeeps but we're gonna need armor support.
Captain Holden : Romolus, where you guys heading next?
Romolus : We just got orders from Averill, we need to head to West with the 4th Platoon.
Captain Holden : God dang-it.
Brenden : Those guys are running out of time.
Kieran : Well then we're on our own, we need to go help my Mom.
Captain Holden : You heard my Son, take the Jeeps and head out.
Trigno : Alright Rhona and Mary are on the other side of all of these hedgerows, let's Go!
The group got into the jeeps and drove off to reach Rhona and Mary's Position.
Eric, Alex, Kieran, and Montgomery were in one of the jeeps with Eric driving.
Eric : Alright which way?
Princess Alex : Follow this road to the next set of houses over, it'll takes us to North Valentine.
Eric drove along the road as they were heading to Rhona and Mary.
Kieran : Keep an eye out for retreating bikers.
Montgomery : They'll run right on top of Rhona and Mary, we gotta get there first.
Princess Alex : Eric, swing a left!
Eric turned the Jeep left to avoid a wall and they started getting shot at.
Princess Alex : Watch out, turn right!
Kieran : Gun it!
Eric drove the jeep faster and they ran over one of the Bikers.
Eric : Eh, his loss.
Montgomery : T7 up ahead, watch out.
Eric turned the Jeep right and he accidentally went down the road to the left.
Princess Alex : Go straight... No!
Eric : Hang on!
Eric smashed through a fence and they drove straight through the Sons of Garmadon's territory, and they hit a jump.
Montgomery : I'm gonna be sick.
Eric : Alex, take the wheel, I'm getting on the Gun.
Princess Alex : On it.
Alex grabbed the wheel, and Eric moved to the back of the Jeep and grabbed his Gun to fire at the Sons of Garmadon on their bikes.
Eric took them out and they kept driving until they were back on the Main Road.
Princess Alex : More straight ahead, take 'em out!
Eric fired the Gun at more of the Bikers and the Jeep stopped for a moment.
Montgomery : Where are they?
Rhona : Cavalry's here!
Princess Alex : They're all over the house!
Kieran : Open fire, we need to clear North Valentine!
Eric : On it!
Alex kept driving the Jeep around the house to fire at the Sons of Garmadon trying to find a way in, and they slowly started retreating.
Eric kept firing his Elemental Gun at the Bikers, as they tried to get inside the house.
Princess Alex : I'm gonna keep circling the house.
Montgomery : Don't let up, guys!
Mary : They're falling back!
Princess Alex : Clean out the rest!
Eric fired his Gun at the retreating bikers until they ran past the rest of the buildings on the Outskirts, and they kept running.
Trigno : All Clear!
Averill : Set up a Perimeter by the road.
The kids got out of the jeeps, and went to help Rhona and Mary.
Mary : We've gotta stop meeting like this.
Kieran : Don't start going soft on me, Mom.
Kieran hugged his mother, and Mary returned the hug and caught her breath.
Rhona : Thanks for showing up when you did Trigno.
Trigno : Thank your husband, it was his orders.
Mary : Kieran, where's your Father?
Kieran : With Brenden, no clue what the next part of the plan is though.
Trigno : Okay, it's too late for us to press on, looks like you kids got a reprieve.
Montgomery : Excuse me Lieutenant, but isn't half of the Sons of Garmadon on the other side of this town, shouldn't we find a better place to be setting up a perimeter.
Trigno : Sure Green Ninja, why don't you book us a room at our enemies' doorstep.
Princess Alex : Trigno, he's scared is all.
Trigno : Why don't you worry about your own problems, like how that side is gonna hold up tomorrow.
Princess Alex : I'm right as rain, Lieutenant.
Trigno nodded and walked away with Eric before he looked at him in the eyes.
Trigno : Eric, why don't you watch her, the only thing more dangerous than our enemy, is Pride.
Eric : Okay.
Trigno : Alright, Rest up guys, we're taking Mount Graystone at first light!
"Nice to see i'm fighting alongside Alex again, she's holding up alright considering we just blasted the Sons of Garmadon through miles of hedgerows and managed to take North Valentine, and you'd think that Trigno would go a little easier on her... then you'd be wrong."
Next Time on The Masks of Garmadon : The Resistance stays hidden in the Canals of Ninjago City, to avoid the Sons of Garmadon, with Mystake talking about her being an Oni, and about Lydia's Transformations during her young life, but if she wants to stop her Grandfather, she'll have to make another one, while Garmadon is also at the Temple of Resurrection after Lydia escaped, she goes to see him and have a talk, with Ultraviolet deciding to take matters into her own hands on the search, and track down Lydia, with a new plan coming into her head for them to strike back.
Will Lydia get Captured? What is Mystake talking about? What side will Garmadon choose?
