The Masks of Garmadon
ItsYoGreenGirl : I didn't know if I explained Kieran as well as other OCs, I have introduced, so at least his worked out, and yea Garmadon does still care, even if his darkness keeps him from showing it, and that's true that people who have nothing, still have everything, that's how it worked for Lydia, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to go through that again... The Formlings' Kingdom will soon be under the Resistance's Control, and when it is, nothing will stand in their way of The Liberation of Ninjago City.
Chapter 25 : Two Lies and One Truth
Last Time on The Masks of Garmadon : Eric returned to Polastraits to see Alex was back, despite her Injury, and Akita and the other half of the Resistance heads off to the other side of Polastraits for another mission, while Eric and Alex's Group is ambushed, and they take a Flak Gun to bring down the Sons of Garmadon, and take out their defenses, just as Paul gives word to Brenden and Captain Holden about Rhona and Mary's distress call, and they head off to give them some backup, doing so successfully, as they take North Valentine, and decided to take Polastraits at first light the next day, just as Trigno tells Eric, to keep an eye on Alex, with him thinking her Pride, is more dangerous than their enemies. . .

March 8th - Ninjago City Canals
11:06 p.m.
Journal Entries - Princess Lydia
"It's a late night in Ninjago City, we barely escaped from The Sons of Garmadon, and we found a house in the Canals were we could hide from The Sons of Garmadon, until it's safe for us to leave Ninjago City, I don't know how much time we'll have to wait, or how much we'll have to defeat my Grandfather once we're done Liberating The Formlings' Kingdom, but what I do know, is that we'll have enough."
Lydia was laying on the bed that was inside the house they were hiding in, and Harumi was next to her.
Empress Harumi : Goodnight, and may your dreams be wonderful, hush a bye, hush a bye, and Goodnight to you and, may your dreams be as wonderful as You, so sleep deep, Because the spider's in the house. Sleep sleep. The spider bit the mouse. Sleep deep. Don't wake up or else you'll find a spider in your mouth.
Even though she was asleep, Harumi saw Lydia smile, and she kissed her daughter's cheek, before she left the room and went downstairs. . .
Nya : You okay, Harumi?
Empress Harumi : Yea, and Lydia's out cold.
Dareth : So are Charlie, Alizah, and Richard.
Misako : So what do we do now?
Nya : Stay out of sight, until it's safe for us to leave for Polastraits, we need to stay hidden.
Empress Harumi : I heard that the others are planning to take North Valentine in the Morning, after that it's a clear shot to taking Polastraits.
Skylor : Good, we stay hidden until then, and we leave for The Formlings' Kingdom.
Mystake : It will take more than that, I am afraid.
Empress Harumi : It always takes more Mystake, we know that, but I think that's one thing that Lydia's afraid of. . .
March 9th - Ninjago City Canals
6:30 a.m.
"It's an early Morning, since we were are able to get some real rest last night, we were totally refreshed, so now all we're doing pretty well, not well enough for the Sons of Garmadon, since we're all still alive, but hey, that's their loss, and now we're waiting for word on Polastraits, and then we're gonna have to leave Ninjago City until the Liberation, then we return to bring the fight back to my Grandfather, but something tells me it'll take more than that."
Nya was outside looking to see the Sons of Garmadon riding their bikes through and around the Canal, messing with the people.
She walked inside of a house and she saw the others.
Nya : It's Chaos out there, but we're safe for now.
Lydia was still wearing her hood, and it somehow made Harumi giggle, since Lydia had her hair in a bun with chopsticks now also, and her wearing the hood reminded her of when she met Lloyd on the Rooftops.
Lydia and her lips with forest green lipstick smiled at Harumi, and she smiled back, and then Lydia pushed her bowl of cereal away for a moment, took off her hood, and Harumi saw much like when Lydia had her Princess and Civilian outfits, she still had the strand of hair going down towards her left cheek, and the strands of hair on her right side, went down over her shoulder, rather than just the side of her face.
Princess Lydia : Okay, now that we've had our fill, can you explain how you turned into a Rat?
Mystake was finishing her tea, and she handed a clear glass bottle of yellow tea to Lydia, and she drank part of it and looked back at Mystake as she finished and took a breath.
Mystake : A Rat is easy, how about this?
Mystake then used her "Powers" to transform into Master Wu, which surprised the Others.
Nya, Skylor, Misako, Dareth, and Harumi were surprised, but the kids ( and Killow ) were keeping their straight faces.
Mystake : Not too shabby for an Old Woman.
Mystake then turned back to normal and laughed, and Lydia spoke.
Princess Lydia : Mystake, you're an Oni.
Dareth : But we were told Oni are dangerous, all they want to do is Destroy.
Killow : If that was true, then why hasn't Garmadon destroyed Lydia yet?
Princess Lydia : Because whether it was Resurrection, or because of the Masks, or Destiny itself, my Grandfather isn't a True Oni, the Resurrection only gave him the Form on one, he didn't change his blood, heart, and soul that's inside of him, giving him uncertainty and doubt when in a fight, but feelings, and a real heart in his life.
Mystake : Wise words, Princess
Dareth : Still, I thought Oni were Careless beings who didn't want anything but Destruction.
Mystake : We are, you don't want Me on your bad side.
Dareth : Please, I've seen a lot of Oni Sides, none of them are good, eh-
Dareth saw Lydia and Alizah glaring at him, since they both have Oni Sides, and it didn't make them happy, or Harumi and Misako, even if they were both normal.
Alizah : But how did you get here?
Richard : Yea, and when-
Princess Lydia : During the Time of Legend, when she crossed over in pursuit of my Great-Grandfather, The First Spinjitzu Master, when he fled the Realm of Oni and Dragon, Centuries ago.
Mystake : You have wise words, and Listen well, Master Princess Lydia Garmadon.
The word "Master" caught Lydia by surprise, but she still smiled at Mystake once she snapped at out of her shock, and Mystake smiled back, and Harumi and Misako smiled as well at hearing Mystake calling Lydia a Master.
Mystake : Since your great-grandfather was born of both worlds, our mission was to follow him into this realm, and turn him to our side or destroy him, but he wouldn't turn, and I fell in love with this world he created, my fellow Oni wanted to complete our mission, but I turned on them, and I helped The First Spinjitzu Master ever since, did you ever wonder how Master Wu and Garmadon have lived so long?
Princess Lydia : And since then, the spread of the Oni and Dragon's blood from The First Spinjitzu Master has reached far and wide, going from my Great-Uncle and my Grandfather, Wu and Garmadon, to my Daddy and my Aunt Liv, and then to us.
When Lydia said the word "us" she wrapped her arm around Alizah, and she smiled.
Mystake : Very good, glad you remember.
Princess Lydia : And Not just us, our brothers of Energy and Destruction have the same blood inside of them as well.
Misako : Sweetie, you truly are a very wise person for your age.
Princess Lydia : That's still tough to say, or hard for me to believe Grammy, for if Nothing you hear is True, then why believe anything, and if everything in the blood and eyes of the Oni and Dragon are Permitted, then why not chase any desire, showing all that this may still be the real beginning of Wisdom, and not at it's final form.
Everybody was in shock as they stared at Lydia, still not believing the wisdom that comes from her Mouth, even Mystake was shocked.
Mystake : Quite Indeed, and that is a big step up from the Princess Lydia I met some years ago.
Charlie : Mystake, how have you kept this secret for so long?
Mystake : Transformation is a Powerful Ability.
Princess Lydia : But if I'm part Oni, why can't I do that?
Mystake : Transform, you've been doing it all your life Lydia, from a childish young Princess, to The Destined Master of Creation and The Gold Ninja, and now to the great leader of The Resistance, but to endure your Grandfather, you must transform again.
Princess Lydia : Into what?
Mystake : There is but one final step for you, Young Master Lydia... Have Faith, you will figure it out. . .
Lydia nodded at Mystake, and she grabbed her Yellow Tea and walked outside, and up the stairs towards the roof.
Misako : I honestly can't believe Lydia's Wisdom.
Mystake : Nor can I, she says that her Wisdom may still be a real beginning, but I feel her wisdom has already gone much farther than that, what matched her Great-Uncle's and my own, I feel she has far risen above it all. . .
Harumi then got a text from Marco from Borg Tower, and she left the Canal. . .
Kryptarium Prison. . .
The Elemental Masters were in the cells, along with the rest of The Resistance's Allies, and in one cell was Ronin, Maya, Chopper Maroon, and Chen.
Ronin : I sure hope your grandsons can figure this out.
Master Chen : Charlie will definitely pull through in protecting Lydia.
Maya : I know Eric will lead them well in their times in The Formlings' Kingdom.
Ronin : That's easy for you to say, you're his Grandmother.
Chopper Maroon : Yea Ronin, and what are you, you've become a Madman, and have turned back to your old ways of acquiring fortune in any way you can think of possible
Ronin : It's called Survival.
Maya : There's more to life than just that Ronin, and trying to come after the kids didn't help you in any way, especially after Siddie kicked your butt... three times.
20 Minutes Later. . .
7:25 a.m.
Borg Tower. . .
Harumi was wearing her Sons of Garmadon clothes, and walking up the stairs to the rooftop.
Marco sent a message to Harumi saying he erased Ultraviolet's Memory of her betrayal, and since Garmadon wasn't there, she could go without Problems.
Sawyer : He hasn't returned since his granddaughter got away.
Ultraviolet : We took out their entire operation and he splits, what's up with that?
Harumi : Continue pressure to find The Gold Ninja, I will find the Emperor.
Marco : I already know where he is, The Temple of Resurrection, though why... I don't know.
Harumi : I'll see what I can do.
12 Hours Later. . .
March 9th - Ninjago City Canals
7:16 p.m.
Harumi was back in her Normal Clothes, and she entered the house.
Empress Harumi : Guys, where's Lydia?
Misako : We were about to try finding you and ask that, we haven't seen her since this Morning.
Charlie : Oh that's just great.
Skylor : What Charlie?
Charlie : Look at my drone.
The others looked, and saw Lydia was somehow in her Gold Hunted Robes again, and she was entering the Temple of Resurrection, and she had her Flail out.
Misako : What is she doing?!
Temple of Resurrection. . .
Lydia entered the Temple, it was Dark out, and she could here the rusted squeaking of the hanging cages, Lydia had her flail out, but she had her hood down as she walked in.
Princess Lydia : Hello?
Lydia approached the cages only to hear the squeaking noise, then she heard some heavy breathing and she turned around and was almost in a fighting stance with her flail, before she saw who it was.
Garmadon walked into the Temple, and he stopped once he reached the Pedestal in the middle.
Princess Lydia : Grampa.
Lydia took a step closer as Garmadon spoke.
Garmadon : I had you beneath my foot, I could have crushed you, and I hesitated, and I heard you speak. . .
Princess Lydia : I heard you as well, the Resurrection is exactly what I've been trying to talk to you about, whether it was Resurrection, or because of the Masks, or Destiny itself, Grampa... you aren't a True Oni, the Resurrection only gave you the Form of one, he didn't change your blood, heart, and soul that's inside of you, giving you uncertainty and doubt when in a fight, but feelings, and a real heart in your life, and the memory I put in your head, from when I was a baby, that's what I meant, and that day proved it.
Garmadon : Lydia, you only brought back the Destructer, the Oni Side of myself.
Princess Lydia : A Child, much like someone who is their own man, isn't born from a side, a Child. . . much like myself, encompasses all, and so do you.
Lydia approached Garmadon, but he back away.
Skylor : Why isn't he attacking Her?
Misako : He knows why and so does Lydia, or else she wouldn't be doing this.
Garmadon : I have seen things in the Departed Realm, a darkness, an everlasting night, that even frightens me.
Princess Lydia : What?
Garmadon : If my Father's realm is to survive, I must be stronger!
Princess Lydia : Survive, Grampa?
Garmadon : Your Mother once said I can't reach my True Potential, until I destroy my Son, and now...
Princess Lydia : I know what she said, our entire family was hurt... but from the moments between you and me, when I was a baby, and up to this moment now, you have remembered and seen and felt, that you still have Light inside of you, beneath the Oni form of you, seeing it all in your true self, that all of that Darkness tries to hide.
Garmadon : How?
Princess Lydia : To let go of this Darkness, and remember who you truly are, you must forgo these feelings... besides, who would still need to care for just a son, when you still have... a Granddaughter.
Lydia kneeled to Garmadon and the others were confused and shocked and they kept listening.
Princess Lydia : You don't need to let the Darkness consume you Grampa, take me, and let me and my creative light show you, that Darkness is not the right, or only way to ensure the Peace, Survival, and Freedom of our realm, let me be your Family, and help me remind you who the rest of your Family was, so you can remember who you truly were, to fight the Darkness, and to keep my great-grandfather's realm, I'm not doing this to hurt you Grampa. . . I love you.
Garmadon turned around and grabbed the Flail and raised it, which made Harumi and Misako gasp.
Princess Lydia : Whatever your will, I will abide.
Lydia kneeled, and had her head down as she awaited Garmadon's decision.
Garmadon lowered the Flail, and Lydia saw and she raised her head and smiled at Garmadon.
Garmadon : My Granddaughter, you have already given me Life, and the Light to see who I once was, beneath the Darkness that was reborn on top of Me, stand and face your Grandfather.
Garmadon reached out his higher right arm for Lydia's hand, and she stood up and took it, and held her Grandfather's hand as she smiled at him.
Princess Lydia : Your will?
Garmadon : Find your friends in Polastraits, and bring down the Sons of Garmadon, to ensure Light, is the only and real Protection, that your Great-Grandfather's Realm is all that it needs, and then we will talk. . .
Lydia smiled and nodded, and threw herself into her Grandfather's arms and hugged him, and Garmadon dropped the flail, and used all four of his arms to hug Lydia.
Just then they heard Ultraviolet and Sawyer. . .
Ultraviolet : He has to be up here.
Sawyer : Then we will inform him of our plan.
Princess Lydia : I love you, Grampa. . .
Garmadon finished hugging Lydia and put his hand on her shoulder.
Garmadon : I love you too, now Go...
Garmadon gave Lydia her flail, and she used Airjitzu ( Since she didn't need her powers for that or for Spinjitzu ) to reach the Temples rooftop, and she smiled and nodded as she pulled on her hood and left.
And everybody saw the Genuine smile on Garmadon's Face, as he watched his granddaughter leave. . .
45 Minutes Later. . .
Lydia returned to the Canal and was on the rooftop of the House her friends were hiding in, and Harumi and Misako came to the roof.
Lydia was wearing her Fisherman disguise again, along with her Sand colored hood.
Empress Harumi : Lydia. . .
Princess Lydia : Mommy. . .
Harumi immediately kneeled down and hugged her daughter and Misako did the same.
Misako : We saw your talk with your Grandfather, we were wrong, there is light inside of him.
Princess Lydia : I tried to tell you, and now I showed you, all that's left is to bring those Bikers down, then we can show him the Light.
Empress Harumi : How?
Princess Lydia : You'll see.
Everybody then went inside the house, to try and eat before leaving the Canal.
20 Minutes Later. . .
Princess Lydia : That's when I said that I could show him the Light.
Alizah : Lydia, are you sure that's possible?
Princess Lydia : No, of course not.
Richard : Of course not?!
Princess Lydia : In a Time of War, we can't be sure on anything, we either don't know, or we do know, the only way to know if it's possible is to try it, and to be good, trusting, and always see the best in people.
Charlie : Like I was.
Charlie put his hand on the table over Lydia's and she smiled at him.
Nya : So what do we do?
Princess Lydia : Wait, Mount Graystone is the center of Polastraits, and they're taking it shortly, once all of Polastraits is clear, we move on to The Formlings' Kingdom, and once it's Liberated, we come back to Ninjago City.
Alizah : Are you sure it's a Good idea, Lydia?
Princess Lydia : I don't know, but both Mystake, and my Daddy said we have to endure, and if that means leaving Ninjago City, then we'll have to.
Harumi and Misako both noticed there was fear and sadness in Lydia's Voice.
Empress Harumi : Sweetheart, are you okay?
Lydia pulled on her hood and held her own hands as she walked outside and went towards the rooftop.
Misako : What's wrong with her?
Mystake : She's scared, she has been since Kryptarium, Lydia's Mind, and her thoughts that I was able to see through the Enlightenment Tea has told me she doesn't want to keep fighting, if she will be forced to hurt her own Family.
Empress Harumi : I think I know why.
Alizah : Why, Aunt Rumi?
Empress Harumi : Because of this fighting is what drove the whole family apart in the first place Alizah, and Lydia doesn't want to keep fighting if it will happen again, especially since Garmadon has seen the Light beneath his Oni Side, Ultraviolet and the other Generals find out about this, they'll all rebel and try to remove him from power, forcing him to use his Powers, and using his powers makes him Destructive, Dark, and above all else, Mad... fighting is only gonna make the Light in him fade away faster than what Lydia can tell him, and she wants it to stop, especially since for now, Liam's gone too.
Charlie : Which hurt me also, over the past months, he was really the only friend I had.
Richard : They'll come back Charlie.
Charlie : I know, it's just a matter on how long it will take.
Lydia came back inside and Harumi walked over and wrapped her arms and Lydia and hugged her.
Lydia returned the hug and let a few tears soak Harumi's shoulder
Harumi hugged Lydia until she managed to stop crying ( even if she wasn't showing it )
Princess Lydia : I love you Mommy.
Empress Harumi : I love you too, Lydia.
Meanwhile, Outside the House. . .
The Sons of Garmadon arrive, and begin looking for Lydia. . .
while Dareth comes back inside. . .
Dareth : Guys, The Sons of Garmadon are here.
Empress Harumi : Alright, I'll take care of it.
Princess Lydia : Be careful, Mommy.
Empress Harumi : I'll come back to you Lydia, I promise.
Harumi grabbed her Sons of Garmadon clothes, and took the chopsticks out of her hair and she ran outside, and Dareth did as well to keep watch on how many were there.
Killow : She better know what she's doing. . .
5 Minutes Later, Outside. . .
Harumi was now wearing her Sons of Garmadon clothes, and was standing on the bridge, as she had The Mask of Hatred with her.
Sawyer raised his chainsaw blade and grabbed one of the civilians by the neck.
Sawyer : The Gold Ninja, have you seen her?!
The Civilian was rapidly breathing as he shook his head, and Sawyer looked at Harumi and she moved her head to the left, and Sawyer threw the civilian into the Canal.
Harumi : Who can tell me, my daughter's location, I know you're hiding her!
Ultraviolet : Give us, The Princess!
Dareth ran back inside and he told the others as they were eating.
Dareth : Their here, and they brought Ultraviolet.
Nya : Then we need to leave.
Skylor : I'll pack our things.
Skylor ran off towards the door, but Lydia yelled out.
Princess Lydia : No!
Skylor stopped, and everybody looked at her.
Princess Lydia : I'm not running anymore, I say it's time we switched things up.
Mystake : And what were you thinking?
Lydia then reached under the table, and she showed the others her ninja suit, though everybody was surprised it was still in one piece.
Princess Lydia : My Mommy already knows what I'm thinking, just get ready, it's time we gave Ultraviolet, a taste of her own crazy ideas.
Everybody nodded and left the house to get into Position. . .
A Man and his daughter were rolling their cart across the bridge with bikers chasing them, but they got cornered.
Marco : The Gold Ninja, have you seen her?
The Man immediately shook his head, when Harumi came up to them.
Harumi : He's lying, make him tell the truth!
Sawyer pulled out his Chainsaw Blade and turned it on, and he laughed.
The man and his daughter held each other, until they heard whistling.
Chopper Maroon : Look!
They pointed towards the roof and Lydia was standing on the Rooftop of a building, wearing her hood.
She got a serious look in her eyes, and she jumped off the roof and began running.
Harumi : Don't let her get away!
Lydia took off running, and the bikers ( Chopper Maroon, Marco, Sawyer, Nails, and Mohawk ) began chasing her, and Killow came out of the dark alleyway, and followed them from behind and jumped onto a boat in the canal, with Harumi following the other bikers.
Lydia kicked a flaming barrel but it missed and Killow grabbed it and threw it back, but it missed Lydia ( Barely ) and it fell into the Canal.
She turned down a small alleyway, before she saw too many Bikers when she ran over a bridge, and jumped onto one of the boats.
The bikers gave chase, and Killow was on a boat behind them, and he nodded at Harumi and she crossed the bridge and kept running.
Lydia then began crossing the boats, as Mohawk and Nails chased her.
Killow jumped onto another boat, and Mohawk was on it, and then he nodded to the driver and the boat went into a tunnel.
Mohawk : How are you driving the boat?
The driver peeked their head up and smiled.
Nya : I have my ways. . .
The Canal reached a turn and Lydia jumped off the boat and went down the pathway, as Sawyer and Nails followed her.
Lydia kicked a ladder and kept running, but the bikers jumped over it, and they were slowly picked off one by one as they ran by some dumpsters.
Mohawk and Nails stopped, and they looked in a direction and saw Lydia wave to them and the went after her.
They reached a Dead End, and were confused.
Mohawk : Where did she go?
Lydia removed her hood, and jumped off the wall and in the middle of the dead end, with a smile and her hands on her hips.
Princess Lydia : Alright boys, let's see if you're as weak as I remember.
Nails : Oh game on!
Skylor came out from her hiding place and helped Lydia, and Mystake was watching from behind them.
Mohawk : Welcome to The Sons of Garmadon, Princess!
Skylor used a Trash Can lid, and Lydia used her Flail, which worked until Skylor threw the trash can lid onto one of the Members.
Lydia then ran up to the Trash Can lid and kicked it and it knocked the two bikers down.
Princess Lydia : And welcome to my Foot!
Skylor : Go get 'em, Lydia.
Lydia kept her hood off and ran into the alleyway, and she grabbed a straw hat ( Like what Master Wu and Mystake wore, and she went to a hiding place )
Harumi and Ultraviolet were running, when they couldn't see any of the bikers.
They saw Skylor and Mystake, and they tried to slowly turn around, until they heard a voice and got into fighting stances.
Princess Lydia : Those who cannot change, cannot change anything.
Lydia removed the straw hat, and they saw who she was, and she stood up, and took a few steps forward.
Harumi : Lydia... you speak of change but look what you've become-
Ultraviolet : Nothing but a beggar in rags!
Princess Lydia : Well you took my friends from me, So I took yours.
Killow, Dareth, Charlie, Skylor, Mystake, Alizah, and Nya came out of their places and surrounded them.
Alizah : Who are the beggars now?
Ultraviolet and Harumi looked at Lydia, and she smiled.
Next Time on The Masks of Garmadon : With North Valentine under control, The Resistance is planning to assault the main city of Mount Graystone, they take control, and the Sons of Garmadon's Forces in Polastraits will crumble, allowing them to move on to Frostown, and if they take Polastraits, the Rest of the Resistance will be able to escape Ninjago City and relocate to a more secure place, out of the Sons of Garmadon's Reach, but after hearing about Lydia's encounter with Garmadon at the Temple of Resurrection, Lloyd's Curious if his daughter knows more than what she lets on. . .
Will The Resistance take Polastraits? Will Lloyd question Lydia? Will The Resistance escape Ninjago City?
