Hello! This is a new story that I am writing on. I've been very inspired recently through reading and writing. I hope you enjoy this new story on Hades and Persephone. Also just an FYI Persephone = Kore. Also if you would like please take a look at my Ko-Fi account: /chrispaoletti This helps me create more content. Thank you.

Persephone slapped the snooze button for the third time as she groggily looked at the time through her sleep ridden lids. Persephone groaned as she turned around on her bed. "Just five more minutes.." she moaned as the morning light started to creep through her drapes. Mornings hadn't been her friend since college where she became a night owl, studying with Hermes and Eros all through the night. Artemis screamed through the kitchen. "Get Up Sunshine!" she laughed as Persephone could hear her making one of her famous protein smoothies from upstairs. Persephone groaned again as she outstretched her arms. "Todays the day.." she whispered as she smiled to herself. The day that I will get approved to get my own flower shop." she affirmed herself. Just about as she was going to get out of bed a pillow hit the back of her head with a thump as she turned around swiftly glaring at a pleased Artemis. "Get up Kore! Our loan meeting is in an hour!" she sighed as she placed her hands in the hair. "I swear…" she shook her head and started down the hallway. Artemis meant well, and she had been Persephone's friend since they were children. She was tall and thin, built more like an athlete as she always wore her dark brown hair in a severe bun. Artemis was always good at sports and was still a member at the entertal maidenhood, an all women's bow and arrow club. She also has the most handsome brother, Apollo. He was the envy of all the girls in town. Kore wouldn't deny that she had a small crush on him ever since she was a child. But no one paid any attention to her. She was the opposite of Artemis in every way. She was short, had long blonde hair, and was curvy. She envied Artemis for looking like an amazon. Persephone only wished that she had the looks and confidence that Artemis had, maybe it was why they had been friends for so long. They were opposites of one another. Persephone looked at herself in the mirror as she decided to settle on a pink flower sundress and some sandals. Her blonde hair in beachy waves as she shrugged her shoulders. "This is as good as we're gonna get." she sighed as she nervously walked towards her fate.

Persephone bounced her one leg incessantly as she waited for the approval that she needed to get her flower shop going. She nervously chewed on her fingernails as she closed her eyes. Artemis was visibly annoyed at Persephone's actions as she tried to calm down her friend. "Don't worry Kore, you'll get this and in no time you and I will be in the flower business. We'll be the most popular maidens on the island! I have a little money to put down and we'll get the rest, you'll see." she rubbed Persephone's back in a friendly attempt at trying to soothe one of her only friends. She looked up at Artemis and scoffed, "You have no idea how hard i've worked to come up with the money that I have now, taking calls for Aphrodite in her hair salon." she sighed. "If only mother could help, but she doesn't want me to own my own business and instead wants me to go into the cereal business. " she sighed. " I could never be the new face of Zues krispies..I would die.." Persephone sighed as she slumped into her chair and looked over to her best friend. "I don't know what I am going to do if I don't get this money, I mean what are my options? And please don't say move back in with my mother…" she groaned as she rubbed her temples with her fingertips. Persephone could already feel the migraine that was dangerously close to paralyzing her brain at this point when the loan officer came out and nodded towards Persephone and Artemis. "You may come in now, the decision has been made." she opened the door into her office. She offered Persephone and Artemis a seat as she gave them both a sheet of paper of approval history as she took off her glasses to look at them both. Persephone's heart sank at the red letters at the top. DENIED. The portly woman on the other end of the desk tried to comfort them as she went through the reasons. "I see that you do have a little money down, but you just don't have the credit you need. Persephone your scores are a little low to ask for a small business loan. You may want to start paying off those student loans you have…" she sighed and tried to let them know that there would be hope for her soon. "Once you both pay down those debts then you can try again, it will need to be six months or so. Multiple checks can hurt your score even further." she nodded. The loan officer's words were like background noise as she looked at the red words at the top of the paper. She wanted to scream and run away from the embarrassment of it all. If only she could hide away and get away from the marble fortress of a bank. Tears pricked at her eyes as she looked at Artemis who was looking very displeased at this point and started arguing with the loan officer as she wanted to melt into her seat of non existence. " Look lady" Artemis spat. "You have no idea what you are talking about! I have some money and so does Kore! Okay? I mean couldn't you just overlook this problem in your little system there? She screamed at the lady as she got up from her seat. "You know you are all a bunch of Quacks, you know that? Persephone wanted to melt into the floor from sheer embarrassment as she crumpled the paper in her purse and took Artemis by the arm. "T-Thank you." she sputtered out as she quickly decided to leave the office before they were going to be kicked out as Artemis questioned her. "What the hell, Kore? I thought I was making good headway there!" she yelled as she shook her arm away from her. " Look Kore you aren't going to get anywhere when you just fold that like! We have to take action!." she yelled as Persephone tried to walk away from her. She wanted to go somewhere and cry and never see the light of day again, but Artemis was proving that could be easier said than done. She was ranting all over the place. Persephone turned around on her heels and looked at her. "Look Artemis, Thank you. I know you mean well but you heard what she said..I need to pay off those loans...I..I just have to find the money..somehow. Maybe it was stupid to think that I could actually do this on my own." she motioned as she kept walking, hugging onto her purse as Artemis ran beside her. "Look Kore, we will find a way to make you more money...just..lets just let it go for tonight. Come on, we could go get some drinks or something. Lets go to your favorite bar, the Acropolis." she beamed as she tried to make Persephone feel better. She had to give it to Artemis, even in the worst of times she knew exactly what to say to make her feel better, even if she wanted to completely shut away from the world. " I could even invite my brother to come along with us and he can bring Hermes." she noted. "Come on, it would be a great opportunity to get your head out of the slump with the whole loan thing. Just have a night out and let your hair down." Persephone smiled at the thought of Apollo being there as she played with the strands at her hair some. She kinda liked the idea of going out and having a good time. When she wasn't at home she was always working. Aphrodite took advantage of Persephone being nice and always coming in early and staying in late. "Alright, I guess i'll go." Artemis smiled and shook her head. "That's the spirit Kore. You know we've hit rock bottom. I think after today, everything is going to change."
