Welcome back, everyone! In this chapter, I am going to pit Luna Midnight against none other than Sora Perse in an epic Duel. No, your eyes are not deceiving you, it will be the Frightfur Duelist against Luna and her four Decks. And in this Duel, I am going to introduce a new one. But first, I have to show you the Yuya v Sora Duel, not in every bit of detail, but I will show it. So, without any more stalling, on with the show!

I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V, only my character and the cards she uses. Any mention of other characters, shows and concepts are simply to help you understand the situation my character is in, nothing more, nothing less.

Chapter 4: A Duel Between Fusion Users

I had to admit, today was certainly interesting. I woke up in my bed after I had a nightmare of some creature made of shadows reaching for me, and for a moment, I did not know where I was. Then I remembered the last two days. Teleportation, stuck inside the Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V series, completely annihilating Sylvio in a real-life Duel. And that last part was just yesterday.

I decided that that was enough time reflecting on what had happened and got out of bed and looked around. The room was sparsely decorated, with only the bed, the chest of draws, the bedside table, and a mirror in the room. My jacket was hung up on a hook on the back of the door, and my Duel Disk and card holders were on the bed side table. At one point, I considered decorating my room, but I decided against it. After all, I probably won't be spending much time in here due to the events about to happen. I picked up my jacket and put it on, then I placed my card holders inside it, then I put my Duel Disk into a holster embedded inside my jacket. I then looked at myself in the mirror, which showed no change to my appearance since I first arrived. One of the things I discovered last night was that I was wearing a bracelet on my right wrist, carefully placed so it was hidden underneath the sleave of my jacket. It was strangely designed, only having a collapsed M shaped decoration on it, with a single red diamond shaped gem embedded in the middle of the shape. Unlike Zuzu's bracelet, mine perfectly fitted my wrist, looking perfectly secure, and unremovable. Despite its strange appearance, I accepted it being there, as it no doubt appeared on my wrist the moment I arrived.

I left my room and saw Zuzu leaving for school, and I decided to help her father at You Show due to the fact that there wouldn't be anything for me to do while waiting for the afternoon. I managed to help with the organising of some paperwork he had backed up, of which he needed sorting. As soon as I was done, Sora showed up, being as energetic as always.

He looked around and noticed me while I was sitting at the coffee table with Frederick, Allie and Tate.

"Hi there!" He said, getting uncomfortably close to me. "I'm Sora. I didn't catch your name when I first met you."

"Well, my name is Luna." I replied while sweat-dropping. "It's nice to meet you Sora."

He sat down next to me, making me more uncomfortable to the point I decided to get up and stand out of the way.

He noticed my movement and looked at me. "Where are you going?" He asked.

"Just stretching my legs." I replied while smiling.

The blue-haired boy shrugged and then proceeded to talk to the other kids, as well as Principle Boyle, who just arrived.

Not long after, Yuya and Zuzu arrived, with the tomato-haired boy saying "All right, who's ready to Duel? The one and only Yuya Sakaki has arrived to take center stage."

After hearing this Sora responded "Ah, what's up, Coach Y?"

Upon realising that Sora was there, Yuya did the comical falling over.

"Wait, what are you doing here?" He asked while getting up.

"He came to meet you for his first lesson." Replied Frederick.

"It's rude to keep your students waiting, Yuya." Finished Allie.

"But he's not…" Started Yuya.

Principal Boyle then grabbed Yuya and interrupted him by saying. "Yuya, I'm proud you chose to entertrain your first pupil here, and I'm even prouder he'll be enrolling in our school. Right? No pressure."

"Listen to me!" said Yuya while pushing Skip back. "He's not my student."

"Come on, what are we waiting for, Coach?" Sora asked with a smile. "We gotta tackle our first Dueling lesson, right? Then let's get to it. I want to learn how to Pendulum Summon from the best of the best! I'm counting on you to turn me into a Dueltaining whiz kid."

"How many times do I have to say no before you stop asking?" Yuya asked Sora angrily.

"Eh… Good question." Said Sora, not knowing that it was rhetorical.

"Look, coach," he pleaded, "I'll make you a deal. Just Duel me this once and I'll never bother you again." As the blue-haired kid said this, he adopted the infamous puppy dog eyes.

"That sounds like a fair deal to me." Said Allie.

"You can't turn him down, Yuya." Said Frederick.

"Aww, come on, Yuya," said Zuzu, falling for the puppy dog eye routine, "it's only one simple Duel."

"Simple," I thought to myself, "yeah right, and I'm the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. They don't know at all what Sora is even capable of if he cut loose."

"Yuya, if you turn down this poor kid," began Skip, "it will bring dishonour to the reputation of the You Show Duel School, not to mention we'd have to give back his tuition money."

Once again, I sweat dropped at the second reason that the Principal gave. But it did bring up a question of how much I was paying for my tuition. Then again, don't ask a question that you don't want an answer to.

Eventually, Yuya gave into Sora's pleading, with the conditions being that Sora had to stop following Yuya everywhere, stop asking for Yuya to teach him and to stop calling Yuya Coach, with the reverse happening if Sora won.

The Duel that followed was certainly interesting. During Yuya's first turn, he summoned his Performapal Hip Hippo, then handed the Duel over to Sora, who drew and activated Toy Vendor, and used its effect to summon his Fluffal Bear. After that, he summoned his Fluffal Leo to the field as well. Admittedly, I was kind of embarrassed when Zuzu and Allie said that Sora's Monsters were cuddly. It was probably because I share the same face as Zuzu, and it would be like I said it myself. Then Yuya and his Hippo fell into a candy lake. Then Sora attacked Yuya with Fluffal Leo. However, Yuya used the Action Spell Evasion to help his Hippo dodge the attack. Then he ran into a swiss roll construct. I actually winced at the waste of a perfectly good dessert, and the fact that Yuya wasn't watching where he was going.

After that disaster, Sora attacked Hip Hippo with Fluffal Bear, and Yuya responded with the Action Spell, Candy Shower. When he did that, everyone realised that all the Action Cards were either hiding inside the tasty confections, or were located near them. When Candy Shower activated, Fluffal Bear switched to Defence Mode, all while eating the candy in front of it. Since he was all out of monsters to attack with, Sora ended his turn and started running for Action Cards while Yuya drew his card.

While he did that, Sora managed to find and get close to an Action Card, however, the wind blew it from its place and Yuya caught it. The tomato-haired Duelist then set the Pendulum Scale with his Stargazer and Timegazer Magicians and Pendulum Summoned his Performapal Skeeter Skimmer, Performapal Swordfish and his Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. Yuya then used Swordfish's ability to reduce Fluffal Leo's Attack Points by 600. Then he activated his Action Card, giving his Odd-Eyes 700 Attack Points, raising it up to 3200. Odd-Eyes then attacked Fluffal Leo with his Spiral Flame Strike, knocking Sora off the building he was on and into a large number of marshmallows, reducing his Life Points to 1800.

After seeing Yuya do that, Frederick wondered why Odd-Eyes didn't deal him double damage with Reaction Force. Tate then pointed out that Odd-Eyes' effect only works if it is attacking a Level 5 or above Monster. Then Frederic realised that since Fluffal Leo was Level 4, the effect did not activate.

Yuya then ended his turn, meaning his Action Spell's effect wore off. However, Sora did not move from where he lay worrying everyone. Then everyone heard him chuckling as he then got up, thanking Yuya for attacking him, as he enjoyed the feeling of being attacked by a Pendulum Monster, and wanted more than ever to become Yuya's student. He then drew his card and activated Toy Vendor, drawing and summoning his Edge Imp Sabres. He then activated Polymerization, purposely muddling up its name, shocking Yuya. Sora then fused his Fluffal Bear and Edge Imp Sabres to Fusion Summon his Frightfur Bear, shocking everyone present with his expert ability to Fusion Summon, as well as revealing the true nature of his Deck. Frightfur Bear was a massive bear that was well and truly nightmare fuel. It looked like Fluffal Bear, but more monstrous, with the head cut in half at the mouth and red glowing eyes inside, between two rows of sharp teeth. The eyes bulged and looked stuck on, where the joints for the arms connected to the body, two pairs of scissors stuck into them. And finally, the midsection was cut in half, with a final pair of scissors taking their place between the two halves, the blades facing towards the front. I noticed that Zuzu and Allie were slightly scared of the bear, and for good reason, after all, they haven't even learned what its special ability was, making it all the more frightening.

Sora then attacked Hip Hippo with his Frightfur Bear's Pummelling Paw, destroying it and reducing Yuya's Life Points to 2600. Then Sora activated Frightfur Bear's special ability, allowing his Monster to equip itself with Hip Hippo and boosting its Attack Points by Hippo's, making its total attack points 3000, meaning it was now stronger than Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. I shuddered, realising that it now had enough Attack Points to rival the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. That was not a pleasant thought.

Sora then placed two facedown cards and ended his turn, at the same time asking for Yuya not to take it easy on him. The tomato-haired boy then drew his card and activated Swordfish's ability again, reducing Frightfur Bear's Attack Points by 600, making it 2400. Yuya then attacked Sora's Bear with Odd-Eyes, hoping for its destruction. With a smile, Sora activated his Trap, Punch-in-the-Box, attempting to destroy one of Yuya's Monsters, reduce Odd-Eyes' Attack Points and negate the attack at the same time. Yuya responded to this by activating the Pendulum Ability of Timegazer Magician, Infinity Gear Reverse. While it manages to set Sora's Trap Card, he simply activated the other one, revealing it to be another Punch-in-the-Box. He then sent Skeeter Skimmer to the Graveyard, reducing Odd-Eyes' Attack Points to 900 and negating its attack. With no other options left, Yuya switched his Performapal Swordfish to Defence Mode and ended his turn with a face-down.

With the end of Yuya's turn, Frightfur Bear regained all its lost Attack Points, making it stronger than Odd-Eyes again. Sora then drew a new card and activated Toy Parade, allowing Frightfur Bear to attack Yuya once for each of its equipped Monsters. This meant that if Sora attacked each of Yuya's remaining Monsters, then he would be able to attack Yuya directly and win. However, I knew something that no one else knew, something that Yuya will discover right then and there.

Yuya, upon realising that he was about to lose, started running for an Action Card. However, before Yuya reached it, Sora managed to grab it first, denying Yuya of the chance to save Odd-Eyes. Sora then commanded Frightfur Bear to attack, and Yuya responded with the Trap, Command Performance, which attempted to switch Frightfur Bear to Defence Mode. Sora then activated the Action Card, Candy Coat, making his Bear immune to any and all Spell and Trap Cards for the turn, as well as making it invulnerable to destruction. Frightfur Bear's attack impacted Odd-Eyes, flinging it back and destroying it, as well as reducing Yuya's Life Points down to 2100.

For the first time in his life, Yuya was shocked. His favourite Monster, the one he had for his entire life, one of the first Pendulum Cards he used, was destroyed. He thought that it was impossible. He felt as if he failed the Monster that he cared for the most.

I watched as Sora told his Frightfur Bear to activate its ability. I also saw Yuya grip his pendulum, and I could tell that he was reflecting on the time he lost it, and the wise words his father spoke that day. Then he started laughing, leaning back as he did so, much to the surprise to the spectators who did not know Yusho that well, or never knew him at all. Suddenly, a beeping from Yuya's Duel Disk caught his attention, showing a flashing arrow which represented his Extra Deck. He then tapped on the button which expanded, showing a card which wasn't there previously.

"You can search all you want, but your Bear's gonna keep coming up empty-handed!"

"Huh? Why's that? Where did your Odd-Eyes disappear to?" Asked Sora, surprised at what Yuya said.

"When Odd-Eyes was destroyed," said a confidant Yuya, "it didn't end up in the Graveyard. It's with me, here in my Extra Deck!" As he said this, Yuya swung around, showing his Duel Disk, and on the screen, in the Extra Deck slot, was Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.

I smiled. "Finally, he discovered the true power of a Pendulum Monster, for if it would be sent from the field to the Graveyard, it is instead sent to the Extra Deck. Congratulations Yuya, you have one important piece of the puzzle."

"Well, that's some bad news for me." Said Sora with a surprised look on his face. Then he started laughing. "Awesome! That's so cool, Coach. So, a destroyed Pendulum Monster, instead of going to the Graveyard, ends up in your Extra Deck? I never would've guessed that. Pendulum Monsters are totally amazing! Since Odd-Eyes isn't in the Graveyard, I can't equip it to my bear, which means it can't attack. You stopped me! Turn over. Coach Y, it's your move. Please make it a fun one!"

"All right!" Said Yuya. "Then brace yourself for a battle that's gonna blow you away."

As he said that, he drew his card.

"Attention!" He said. "I'd like to present my two Magicians, Stargazer and Timegazer. Before your very eyes, I'll use them to set the Pendulum Scale. Presto! I can now summon Monsters from Level 2 through Level 7 all at the same time."

The pendulum swung above Yuya once more as he chanted.

"Swing far, Pendulum! Carve the arc of victory. Pendulum Summon!"

The portal opened once more, ready to perform another miracle.

"And now, I'd like to introduce a Pendulum Monster who you never met before. Performapal Cheer Mole!"

As he placed the card, a green stream of light erupted from the portal, revealing a pink female mole wearing a cheerleader's outfit and hiding behind a pair of pompoms.

"But wait, that's not all!" Said Yuya as his Extra Deck opened, briefly emitting a golden light as it ejected the card within. "I'm also bringing back a crowd fave, my Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon."

From the portal came a burst of fiery light, which deposited the great red dragon onto Yuya's field.

"Ahh!" Cried Sora, a massive smile on his face.

"I just knew Yuya would figure out a way for his Odd-Eyes to get in the spotlight again." Said Tate.

"So, no matter how many times Yuya's opponents destroy it," said Skip, "Odd-Eyes won't be sent to the Graveyard. And Yuya can summon it back over and over and over again. Pendulum Power! It's got me more excited than ever! I'm totally fired up!"

"Odd-Eyes is set, and so is our supporting cast." Said Yuya. "And now, friends, without further ado, let's get on with the Duel. Our lead act is Performapal Swordfish, who will show off his ability by slashing the Attack Points of your Frightfur Bear by 600!"

As Swordfish activated its ability, Yuya looked at us and spoke. "Guys! Can you help me out with some basic arithmetic? 3000 – 600."

The three kids answered his question. "2400."

"Odd-Eyes is now a hundred points stronger than Frightfur Bear." Said Zuzu. "It can send that Bear back to the toy store."

"That's correct!" Said Yuya.

"My Punch-in-the-Box Trap is still on the field," said Sora, "but Timegazer could just negate it again, so I can't use it to stop you. No matter what I try, Frightfur Bear will lose the battle."

"Correct again." Yuya said.

"Hold on! If you destroy Frightfur Bear, I'll still only take a hundred points of damage. That's not enough to knock me out of the Duel."

"With my 'Mole Move,' it will be."

"Huh?"

"And now, Performapal Cheer Mole will perform her special ability."

The mole in question hopped out of the hole that she was hiding in, however it seemed she was still shy.

"Oh, come on," said Yuya, "it's no time to be shy. I got spirit, yes I do. I got spirit, how 'bout you?"

As he sang, Cheer Mole started dancing, as well as activating her ability.

"How cute." Said Allie as she saw Cheer Mole dance.

"Cheer Mole strengthens Swordfish's special ability so that instead of Swordfish lowering Frightfur Bear's Attack Points by 600, it lowers it by 1600."

Swordfish launched itself into the air and created six duplicates of itself, and launched them at Frightfur Bear, reducing its Attack Points to 1400.

"You wanted this to be fun," said Yuya, "so how do you like this? Since Frightfur Bear is Level 5 or higher, Odd-Eyes can use its special ability to double the damage you take. Now, the grand finale! So, get ready. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, get set to strike and make this the most sensational finish ever."

Odd-Eyes started running and leapt up into the air launching its Spiral Flame Strike at Frightfur Bear, destroying it and winning the Duel.

"That's a wrap!" Cried Yuya as the field dissipated.

"And it's over!" Cried Frederick as Yuya's win picture came up.

"That was the funnest Duel ever!" Said Tate.

"Oh, yeah!" Said Allie.

Once the field was gone, Yuya saw that Sora looked sad as he sat on the ground.

"Hmm… Sora," Yuya said as he walked over to the blue-haired boy, "I think you may be the most clever opponent I've ever faced. It's clear you don't need any coaching from me-"

"What a blast!" Sora said, interrupting Yuya. "That Duel totally rocked! Thank you, Yuya!"

"Huh? Yuya? You're not calling me 'coach' anymore?"

"Well, you don't want me to be your student. So, instead, I'll become you best friend. And of course that means we'll be hanging together all the time."

"Look, you're not my best-" Yuya began.

"Great Duel, guys!" Skip said, once more interrupting Yuya. "Since Sora here is your best bud, I'm gonna discount his tuition. You are enrolling in the You Show School, aren't you?"

"You bet!" Answered Sora. "After today's Duel, I wouldn't sign up at the Leo Institute for anything."

"YES!" Cried and overjoyed Skip. "Another new student, which means maybe I can pay this month's electric bill. I'll go get your signup forms!" He called as he ran out of the room, once more making me sweatdrop at his words.

"I don't get it." Said Yuya. "If you never studied at the Leo Institute, then where did you learn to Fusion Summon?"

"Where I come from, Fusion Summoning is really common." Answered Sora. "Everybody uses it."

"Wait, you're not from here?" Asked a shocked Yuya. "So, then, like, where did you grow up?"

"Oh, I'm too hungry to talk about it right now. Let's go to your house for dinner, okay, pal?"

"To my house? Look, I'm not sure this whole friendship thing is a good idea."

"And afterwards, wanna watch a movie?"

"GO AWAY!" Yuya cried angrily chasing Sora as the blue-haired boy ran away laughing.

"Or maybe instead of a movie, we can go to the mall or play a video game."

"I have a great game for you-it's called LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Later that day, after Yuya finally stopped chasing Sora and everyone started heading home, I asked the blue-haired boy for some help with sorting the files.

"Hey, Luna." Said Sora, drawing my attention. "You know, we didn't get the chance to really get to know each other today. All I did was say hi to you, and you just watched the Duel. You weren't even surprised that I could Fusion Summon."

I smiled when he said that.

"Perhaps it's because I'm a good judge of character." I said.

"What do you mean?" Sora asked.

"In the past, I learned to never judge a book by its cover. Sort of like your Deck."

"Why do you say that?"

"Simple, your Deck is comprised with weaker Fluffal Monsters which look cute, but when you fuse them together with your Edge Imp Monsters, you reveal their true nature underneath as powerful and dangerous Frightfurs that other people wouldn't want to mess with. Sort of like you. You are cute and friendly most of the time, but in a Duel, you are quite serious and a powerful opponent. After all, the best way to know a person is how they represent themselves through their Deck. And you, Sora, are a powerful Duelist."

Sora's eyes lit up, filled with stars.

"Wow!" He said. "I didn't know you thought so highly of me." Then he grinned. "Hey, if you believe that the best way to get to know someone is through the way they Duel, then let's Duel each other so I can get to understand you better as well."

I smiled at this, knowing that my Duel with Sora will certainly push me to do my best.

"I accept your challenge Sora." I answered. "But since you challenged me, I get to choose the Action Field. Sound fair to you?"

"Definitely!"

In the arena, we stood on facing each other and equipped our Duel Disks. Before I chose the Action Field that we would be Dueling in, I decided to point something out to him.

"Sora." I said, drawing his attention to me. "I noticed how you acted after you lost your Duel with Yuya, and I would like to tell you that, before we begin, we will just be doing this both for fun and to get to know each other. So don't feel bad if I win. Okay?"

"Gotcha." The boy said with a smile.

"All right! I choose the Action Field, Yami!"

"Generating Action Field"

Suddenly the field around us changed, becoming a land shrouded in shadow, and above us was a sphere full of Action Cards. I was amazed at how the field was designed, as the only time I used an Action Field was when I Duelled Sylvio. However, Sora was not so pleased with my choice.

"Man, this place is creepy." He said with a shiver.

"Well, that's probably because it's covered in shadows." I said. "I just thought that this field would be the perfect fit for my Deck. So, are you ready to Duel?"

"Definitely!"

"LET'S DUEL!"

Sora – 4000

Luna – 4000

"I think that you should take the first move Luna."

"Fine by me." I looked at the cards in my hand. "I set one Monster Face-Down and two Face-Down cards. I end my turn."

Sora was slightly surprised at what I did, but drew his card anyway. "I draw. I summon my Edge Imp Saw."

A round sawblade with red eyes appeared on Sora's field.

Edge Imp Saw
Level – 4 – Attribute – Dark
Type – Fiend
ATK – 500 – DEF – 1000

"Edge Imp Saw's ability activates." Said Sora. "When it is Normal Summoned, I can send 1 Fluffal Monster in my hand to the Graveyard and draw two cards. Say goodbye to my Fluffal Octopus." He slotted a card in his hand into the Graveyard slot and drew two cards from his Deck. "The disadvantage with this is that I now have to place one card in my hand at the top or bottom of my Deck." He chose one card and placed it at the bottom of his Deck. Then he took off, searching for an Action Card. He found one and picked it up.

"I attack your Face-Down Monster."

Edge Imp Saw's sawblades started buzzing and the monster started heading for Sora.

"I activate the Action Spell, Charge Recklessly. When my Monster battles yours, it gains 600 Attack Points."

Edge Imp Saw
ATK – 500 – 1100

As it was about to hit my Monster, it flipped face-up, revealing a serpentine-like lizard construct made of shadows and golden armour, with strings holding it together.

Shaddoll Squamata
Level – 4 – Attribute – Dark
Type – Spellcaster
DEF – 1000 – ATK – 1800

Edge Imp Saw hit the Monster and destroyed it.

"I activate the flip effect of my Shaddoll Squamata." I said calmly. "When it is flipped Face-Up, I can target one Monster on the field and destroy it!"

Suddenly, a dark hole opened up underneath Edge Imp Saw, and glowing strings shot out of it, latching onto the Monster, dragging it into the abyss, with the hole closing up afterwards.

"I end my turn." Said a slightly unnerved Sora.

"I draw." I looked at the cards in my hand. "I set one Monster face-down and end my turn."

"I draw, I summon Fluffal Dog!"

A small dog plushie with wings on its back appeared on the field, yipping excitedly.

Fluffal Dog
Level – 4 – Attribute – Earth
Type – Fairy
ATK – 1700 – DEF – 1000

"I activate Fluffal Dog's special ability! Now I can add one Edge Imp Sabres or one Fluffal monster to my hand. The Monster I choose is Fluffal Bear!"

"Fluffal Dog, attack Luna's Monster!"

The dog pounced at my Monster flipping it face-up, revealing a doll construct in the shape of a young girl with blond hair streaked with purple, wearing a dark purple top and shorts while carrying a wand.

Reeshaddoll Wendi
Level – 3 – Attribute – Wind
Type – Psychic
DEF – 1000 – ATK – 1500

When the Monster was destroyed, I then spoke.

"When Reeshaddoll Wendi is flipped faceup, I can Special Summon one Shaddoll Monster from my Deck in Face-Up or Face-Down Defence position. I set one Monster Face-Down on my field."

"Another Shaddoll Monster!" Thought Sora. "Luna's Deck is more dangerous than I thought! I've got to play it safe."

"I end my turn. But I'm not ready to lose this Duel!" Sora cried.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." I responded with a smile on my face. "I DRAW! I set one card Face-Down and Flip Summon my Shaddoll Beast!"

A lion-like construct appeared on my field, made entirely out of some sort of stone and purple-blue armour with gold highlights, held up with glowing strings.

Shaddoll Beast
Level – 5 – Attribute – Dark
Type – Spellcaster
ATK – 2200 – DEF – 1700

"When Shaddoll Beast is Flip Summoned, I can draw two cards." I did just that and looked at them. "Once I draw my cards, I must discard one card in my hand to the Graveyard. The card I choose is my Shaddoll Falco. Shaddoll Falco's ability activates! When it is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, I can Special Summon it in Face-Down Defence Position. Next, I set one Monster Face-Down on my field. Now I attack your Fluffal Dog with Shaddoll Beast."

Shaddoll Beast's eyes began to glow as the strings holding it up twitched, moving the Monster to attack Sora's Fluffal Dog, destroying it and dealing the blue-haired boy 500 points of damage as he shielded his eyes from the blast of wind that hit him.

Sora – 4000 – 3500

"I end my turn."

"My turn." Said Sora. "I draw. I set one card Face-Down and set a Monster. That's all for now."

"My turn." I said, "I draw."

"I have to admit," Sora said, catching my attention, "You're a lot stronger that I was expecting. I mean, not only did you anticipate my attack, but you used it to your advantage to not only summon one of your strongest Monsters, but also be able to set two new ones and get rid of my Fluffal Dog. I'm amazed at how strong you are!"

"Why thank you, Sora." I said with a smile. "But the Duel is far from over! I Flip Summon my Tuner Monster, Shaddoll Falco!"

A small, bird-like puppet appeared on the field.

Shaddoll Falco
Level – 2 – Attribute – Dark
Type – Spellcaster
ATK – 600 – DEF – 1400

"When Shaddoll Falco is Flip Summoned," I explained. "I can Special Summon one Monster in Face-Down Defence Position. The Monster I choose is my Shaddoll Squamata. Next, I set one Monster Face-Down and attack your Monster with my Shaddoll Beast!"

"I don't think so." Said Sora. "I activate my Trap, Punch-in-the-Box. As you know, when Punch-in-the-Box is activated, I can negate your attack and send another Monster that you control to the Graveyard, and your Monster loses Attack Points equal the sent Monster's Attack or Defence Points. I choose your Shaddoll Falco! Now it's been sent to the Graveyard, your Monster loses 1400 Attack Points!"

Shaddoll Beast
ATK – 2200 – 800

"Shaddoll Falco's ability activates again, resurrecting it from the great beyond!" I looked at the remaining card in my hand, then I set it on the field. "I end my turn with a Face-Down card. It's your move, Sora."

"Great! I draw." Upon seeing the card he drew, Sora smiled. "I now activate the sweet-sounding Spell card, Polymerization. Now I can fuse together my Fluffal Bear and my Edge Imp Sabres."

The two cards appeared on either side of Sora, then turned into two streams of energy and swirled together into a blue and red vortex that appeared behind him as he chanted. "Edge of Sharpness and Fury of Bear, when the two come together, you had better beware!" Sora then clasped his hands together above his head and thrust them down in front of him.

"I Fusion Summon!" He cried. "Frightfur Bear!"

The demonic bear appeared on Sora's field, ready to feast on my Monsters.

Frightfur Bear
Level – 6 – Attribute – Dark
Type – Fiend
ATK – 2200 – DEF – 1800
Summoning Type – Fusion

"Next I Flip Summon my Edge Imp Chain."

Edge Imp Chain
Level – 4
Type – Fiend
ATK – 1200 – DEF – 1800

"Frightfur Bear, attack Luna's Shaddoll Beast! Pummelling Paw!"

Luna – 4000 – 2600

The Monster launched a paw at Shaddoll Beast, hitting it and knocking it down.

"When Frightfur Bear destroys a Monster by battle," Sora explained, "it can equip itself with the destroyed Monster, then it gains 1000 Attack Points."

Frightfur Bear
ATK – 2200 – 3200

Frightfur Bear grabbed Shaddoll Beast and swallowed it whole, with golden sparks emerging from its mouth. Sora then saw an Action Card and grabbed it.

"Edge Imp Chain, attack Luna's middle right Monster. I activate the Action Card, Double Attack! I now double the Attack Points of Frightfur Chain until the end of the turn!"

Edge Imp Chain
ATK – 1200 – 2400

Edge Imp Chain then launched multiple chains at my Monster as Sora picked up another Action Card.

"I activate the Action Card, Eternal Torment! When this card is activated, until the end of the turn, you cannot summon Monsters from the Graveyard! So say goodbye to any chance of resummoning your Monsters from your Graveyard! And another effect of Eternal Torment is that one random card on your field is destroyed!"

The chains from Sora's Monster hit Shaddoll Falco, flipped it face-up, and destroyed it. Then, a stray chain hit another monster, flipping it face-up to reveal a young girl-shaped puppet in some kind of casing made of light, and sent it to the Graveyard too.

"With that I end my turn. It's your move now Luna, let's see if you can get out of this."

"This is bad." I thought to myself. "The only cards on my field are my four Trap cards, my Shaddoll Squamata and my Qadshaddoll Keios, not only that, I also don't have any cards in my hand. While my Squamata might be able to get rid of Sora's Fluffal Bear and Edge Imp Chain, both Squamata and Keios don't have enough Attack Points to win, and none of the Monsters in my Extra Deck have enough Attack Points to meet Fluffal Bear head on. Which means that the outcome of this Duel rests on me drawing the perfect card." I closed my eyes and put my hand on top of my Deck. Unnoticed by either Sora or me, the top card was glowing, while the gem in my bracelet glowed in a faint red light. I opened my eyes. "Here goes." "I DRAW!" I cried as I removed the glowing card from my Deck. The glow faded as I looked at the card. "Perfect!"

I then spotted an Action Card and ran for it. Sora, seeing me do this, ran for it too. As we both reached the card, time seemed to slow down for a few seconds, with me grabbing the card. Once I stopped running, I made my move.

"I Flip Summon my Qadshaddoll Keios and Shaddoll Squamata. I activate Squamata's Flip effect, destroying my Keios." The black and gold coloured demon puppet that appeared on my field burst into golden sparks, surprising Sora.

"You destroyed your Monster?!" Exclaimed the Frightfur user. "Why would you do that? Neither one of those Monsters are strong enough to destroy my Frightfur Bear, and your Shaddoll's effect could have been useful."

"Who said I was going to attack?" I said playfully. "I send the Action Spell Miracle to the Graveyard in order to activate the Spell Card, Super Polymerization!"

"Did you just say Super Polymerization?!" Asked a shocked Sora.

"Yep." I responded. "And thanks to its effect, when I Fusion Summon a Monster, I can use Monsters on both our fields as the Fusion Materials! I fuse together my Shaddoll Squamata and your Frightfur Bear in order to Fusion Summon."

As I spoke, Frightfur Bear and Shaddoll Squamata burst into two streams of purple sparks, which both streams gathered together to form a purple galaxy like swirl on the ground in front of me as I started chanting.

"Avian construct of darkness, become one with the fury of the bear and unleash a new terror!" Two purple tornados burst out of the galaxy, twisting together to form one single tornado with the shadow of a new Monster within it. I clasped my hands together above my head and thrust them in front of me as I spoke. "I Fusion Summon! Awaken, El Shaddoll Winda!"

A large purple dragon-like puppet appeared on my field, held together with glowing wires. Standing next to it was a puppet that looked like a young girl with green hair holding a staff.

El Shaddoll Winda
Level – 7 – Attribute – Dark
Type – Spellcaster
ATK – 2200 – DEF – 800
Summoning Type – Fusion

Sora just stood there, staring at my Monster.

"No way." He said in a stunned voice.

"If you think that was cool, then just you wait, 'cause I'm not done yet! I activate the Trap, Necro Fusion. By banishing the required Monsters in my Graveyard, I can Fusion Summon again! I banish my Shaddoll Beast and my Qadshaddoll Keios from the Graveyard. Bestial construct of darkness, become one with the demonic construct of light to create a new blinding light! I Fusion Summon! Awaken, the supreme construct of all, El Shaddoll Construct!"

A large female puppet appeared on the field, towering over El Shaddoll Winda. it was dressed similar to an Ancient Egyptian queen, and glowing strings came out of her back, spreading behind her like wings.

El Shaddoll Construct
Level – 8 – Attribute – Light
Type – Fairy
ATK – 2800 – DEF – 2500
Summoning Type – Fusion

"Whenever El Shaddoll Construct is Special Summoned to the field, I can send one Shaddoll Monster in my Deck to the Graveyard. The card I send to the Graveyard is another Shaddoll Beast! Shaddoll Beast's effect activates, allowing me to draw one card. Now I activate the Trap, Shaddoll Core. When this card is activated, it is summoned to my field as a Level 9 Dark Spellcaster with 1450 Attack Points and 1950 Defence Points. I'm finishing this Duel here and now! El Shaddoll Winda, attack Sora's Edge Imp Chain." Winda's dragon unleashed a massive ball of shadowy fire at Edge Imp Chain, Destroying it.

Sora – 3500 – 2500

"El Shaddoll Construct, end this with Shadow Strings!"

El Shaddoll Construct pointed at Sora, and the strings behind her launched at the boy, sending him flying and winning the Duel.

Sora – 2500 – 0

Luna – Win

The Action Field dissipated, leaving me victorious in the Duel. I walked up to Sora as he got up from the ground.

"That was a great Duel Sora." I said, smiling at him.

"You're insanely strong." Sora said. "I bet you were in control of the Duel the entire time."

"Not really." I told him. "You had me on the ropes a few times. Honestly, if I hadn't drawn Super Polymerization, I think you would've won."

"Really?"

"Really."

Sora smiled.

"Well, I guess we'd better get going." I said. "I don't want to make Principle Boyle worry about me."

"Hey." Sora said, catching my attention. "Where'd you learn how to Fusion Summon like that?"

"Oh." I said. "Well, you see, I'm self-taught."

"SERIOUSLY?!" Asked a surprised Sora.

"Well, yes. You see, I never attended a Duel School before, and when I first started Dueling, I had to learn by watching how other people played. After a while, and quite a lot of practicing against other Duelists, I eventually figured out how to use the different Summoning methods."

"I guess that explains why you're so strong. You had to learn everything yourself."

"And the only way I can find out how good I am is when I Duel." I finished. "And whenever I lost the Duel, I learn from it so next time I would win. I've found that it's always good to be adaptable as a Duelist. That way, you can handle anything your opponent throws at you."

I took the keys for the building out of my pocket and looked at Sora. "Well, I think we have been here long enough." I said. "Let's lock up and go home."

In the monitoring room at LID, the purple-eyed man walked in and took his seat at the desk on the raised platform.

"Report." He said simply.

"Mr President," one of people in the room began, "We've detected a powerful energy signature in the city. We believe someone just conducted a powerful summon."

"Which Summoning Method?"

"Fusion, sir. We have confirmed that it is stronger than anyone in the Leo Institute. However, it seemed different from any others we have seen."

"What do you mean?"

"We also detected a second signature within the first. Although the Fusion Summon signature was higher, the signature within it matched the one from the teleport a few days ago."

"Interesting." "Continue monitoring the energy frequencies. I want to know immediately if it happens again."

"Yes, sir!"

And there we go! The debut of Luna's Shaddoll Showdown Deck. I decided that this Deck would be suited for this Duel because I thought it would be a perfect matchup against Sora's Frightfurs. I also relised that Sora's Frightfur Bear would be a difficult opponent to beat as long as it was on Sora's field, so I decided to choose this one thanks to it's Super Polymerization card, with it being the perfect card to surprise Sora with. As he is from the Fusion Dimension, Sora is sure to recognise it, and it would be a good way to show you all what Luna's Fusion Summoning looks like. As for Sora's reaction to Luna saying that she was self taught, it only made sense that it would be his reaction to hearing that someone who can Fusion Summon as well, or even better than he can learned how to do it by themselves. Anyway, I'll see you next chapter!
