Chapter Eleven: A Threat Awakens

Misaki woke with a start when she felt someone or something jump on her bed in the Haruno household. Considering she was just staying until she found her own place, she liked Sakura's parents. Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she was surprised to see Ino, Hinata, Sakura and a brunette surrounding her. "Geez! Wake up call much?" She half-grumbled.

Hinata smiled. "Today's the day we go shopping for you, Misaki-chan! It'll be so amazing!" She said, nearly besides herself with happiness.

Misaki stared at the brunette that had two buns on both sides of her head. "Umm.. Have we met?"

Sakura smiled. "This is Tenten, she was on a mission with her team when you arrived. Tenten, this is.. I guess it would now be Yamanaka-Uzumaki Misaki?" She thought it over.

Misaki nodded. "Yes. Nice to meet you, Tenten-chan!" She said, slipping into her outfit from yesterday, since she didn't have clothes, yet.

Tenten nodded. "Neji and Lee were confused when Naruto mentioned having an adopted sister while Ino said she found her long-lost cousin. So, I met up with these girls about ten minutes ago and they said it was true. That and they mentioned you may or may not have a crush on Kiba."

Misaki flushed and rubbed her head as they left, pausing at the entrance to the living room. "Thanks again, Haruno-san and Haruno-sama." She bowed and joined her friends outside, shocked to see Kiba had joined Naruto, Shikamaru, Sasuke and Neji. "You must be Hyuga Neji... It's an honor." She bowed and smiled, shocking the Hyuga speechless.

"The honor's mine, Misaki-chan." Neji replied.

"Hello again, Kiba-kun." She said, giving Kiba a smile, too before petting Akamaru. "Hey, Akamaru!"

Kiba ignored the look Ino gave him and nodded in acknowledgement. "According to Hinata, us guys have to be sure to guard you at all times. Not that anything'll attack you here in the Leaf.. But, eh." He shrugged as Naruto embraced Misaki with a hug, which she glared at the laughing Uchiha and Shikamaru before the group went about shopping.

Meanwhile, Kabuto, Orochimaru, Suigetsu and Juugo returned with a battered-up Karin, barely recognizable with her wounds. Juugo tilted his head. "Why do we need Karin around?"

Kabuto sighed. "She is the only one who can use the Mind Eye of Kaguya." A plan seemed to come to the tactician's face. "Say... Lord Orochimaru... What if we.." The two exited before the rest was heard, leaving Juugo and Suigetsu with Karin, who was coming to.

"Yo." Suigetsu said, smirking before wondering what Kabuto had in store for them as another man appeared in the room.

This man wore an orange mask with spiral-pattern that only shows his right eye, a black long-sleeve top that also covers his neck and chin, a pair of black gloves, and a pair of dark-coloured pants along with the standard Akatsuki shoes and white stirrups. On his waist, he wears a thick black belt with armour-like metal plates attached to it. He wore the same metal plates on his shoulders.

"Who are you?" Juugo asked, cautious of the man as Kabuto and Orochimaru re-entered.

"Ahh, 'Tobi', is it?" Kabuto asked.

"I go by many names, but Obito is my given name." The man replied. "Have you had any success on your part getting the Nine-Tails?"

"Sadly, no." Orochimaru replied, smirking. "We would've had him if Karin over there had not drawn attention to her position of fighting Tsunade's students."

Karin looked ashamed as Kabuto went about healing her. "It wasn't me. This clay flower came out of nowhere." She pouted as Kabuto fixed her arm into a sling. "Watch it!" She griped. "So, Lord Orochimaru, you know this Obito?"

Orochimaru nodded slightly. "Obito. I need some help from the Akatsuki. I need both the Nine-Tails jinchuriki and Uchiha Sasuke for a new host body. Plus. There is the little pink-haired kunoichi Tsunade trained."

Obito seemed to tilt his head. "Ah... I see... I take it Sasuke has... feelings for this girl?"

Suigetsu blinked and shrugged. "Seemed like Sasuke wanted to protect the girl. Silly."

Obito nodded. "I'll let them know. We're short-handed at the moment. Deidara and Uchiha Itachi haven't returned." He vanished as quickly as he appeared.

Karin, Juugo and Suigetsu stared at where Obito was before Karin spoke. "So... The Akatsuki..."

When Obito returned to the hideout, he switched to his 'Tobi' persona and skipped to the group. "Leader! I got some news!"

Pain looked in his direction. "Have you heard or seen Itachi and Deidara?"

"Better! I know where they are!" He cheered. "They are captives of the Hidden Leaf! That and we might have to defeat the Nine-Tails and even the Legendary Sannin!"

A red haired man turned towards them, intrigued. "So.. Deidara.. I think his art was worthless. How about I go deal with them?"

Pain nodded. "You take care of the girl. We'll deal with getting those two idiots out of Konoha. That means me and Konan. The rest are to remain here." He glanced at the remaining Akatsuki, which included him, Konan, Tobi and the red-haired man. "Sasori, don't take too long with them. Kakazu and Hidan are due back soon with the Three-Tails."

Sasori chuckled lightly. "Leader, I hate to keep people waiting, you know. I shall return with those pitiful excuses of ninja." With that said, he vanished to go get his missing partner and the Uchiha.

Kiba and the guys looked more like mules by the time the girls got done with shopping. Kiba had three bags on each arm, two bags in each hand and even Akamaru carried two on his tail. "Uhh. Can we. Stop?" Kiba puffed, surprised he hadn't passed out by now.

Misaki and the girls glanced back and burst out laughing at how even Sasuke looked ready to collapse under their bags. Hinata shrugged. "I guess we could rest here. Besides, those aren't our bags anyhow. Misaki-chan needs the clothes, so all those are hers." She pointed out, hearing a collective groan from the guys.

Sakura giggled before seeing there was a sale nearby. "Oooh! Look! You guys can stay here and we'll go look at that sale!"

Naruto's head dropped. "But Sakura-chan... 'Look' turns to 'buy'! And... Why can't you girls at least carry a bag or two?"

Ino scoffed. "We're girls. All those bags would be too heavy for us, therefore that's why we need strong guys like you to carry them." She fluttered her eyelashes at Shikamaru.

Shikamaru groaned aloud before sighing. "Fine.. You girls are such a drag." When they went off, he took the opportunity to plop on the ground. "Why in the world do we have to deal with this?"

Sasuke shrugged before chuckling. "Cause. At least some of us can't tell left from right when we're around the girls."

Naruto flopped onto his belly. "That's true. According to my pops, that's how you can tell a man loves a girl... Or, something like that." He rubbed his head, trying to remember what his dad said.

Kiba's eyes widened when he noticed how much the girls came back with. "Did you have to buy the entire store?"

Ino grinned. "Well, we would've stopped at two bags, but they were on sale! Plus, some of these would make Misaki so cute!"

Even Misaki looked exhausted. "Don't tell me this is normal. I can't take much more."

Tenten grinned. "Don't worry, this will be enough for you for about three months."

Hinata blinked. "What were you guys mumbling about over here?"

Naruto and the guys blinked as Naruto sighed. "We just wondered guy-things. That's all."

Sakura and the girls raised an eyebrow before shrugging. "Well, we're done for today." Sakura said, much to everyone's delight.

After the shopping, Tsunade showed up and actually showed them that Misaki was given her own place by the Elders, seeing as though she didn't have a place to begin with. Naruto, Hinata, Sakura and Sasuke left so that the others could help Misaki, since they had a mission to go on.

"So, Sakura-chan, you think Kiba feels something for Misaki? Cause I think it'll be awesome!" Naruto questioned, seemingly wanting answers.

Sakura caught on and shook her head. "Nice try, Naruto. I'm not saying anything. Just hush up. Kakashi-sensei!" She called out to their sensei, cutting off Naruto's comeback.

Kakashi turned to see his students and Hinata. "Well, you ready to go? I mean after helping Misaki into her house, surely you'd wanna rest?"

Naruto grinned. "Nope. We need to- Misaki-imouto!" Naruto questioned, or wondered.

Misaki tapped the tip of her shoe on the ground. "Lady Tsunade wanted Sakura-chan to stay and help Ino-chan at the hospital and since Kurenai-sensei's team has the day off, she wanted Kakashi-sensei to bring me along."

Kakashi nodded. "It does make sense. Seeing as you are also a genin and Kurenai being quite busy to train, I guess this one mission will be a great way to see what you got. Just a warning. These two have a very high stamina."

Misaki nodded. "I understand, Sensei." She wondered how they'd react to 'that' kekkai genkai.

Little known to those in the Leaf, in a far-off mountain range, another threat began making ripples. It's leader, a beautiful raven-haired woman with piercing violet eyes, looked upon her followers with no emotion. "We must get that girl... She not only knows too much, but... She has the kekkai genkai we need... You two.. Find her and bring her back. Use force if need be.. Kill her companions, except that Nine-Tails... It will help us."

A man with blonde hair and green eyes bowed on his knee when she pointed to him. "Right away..."

A small figure, almost like a child, next to him also bowed before showing her purple hair and blue eyes. "As you command."

The two left, leaving the woman with the other five followers, one with orange hair and hazel eyes spoke up. "Mistress Miyu, are you sure letting Rina and Takumi handle them is wise?"

Miyu raised an eyebrow. "Why, Takehiko, are you doubting me?"

"No, mistress... Forgive my thoughtlessness." Takehiko said.

The eyebrow dropped back to its original place. "Good..." She stood and, with a flip of her wrist, dismissed her followers as she looked out the window. 'Little Misaki.. You are the key to my conquering of the Five Great Nations.' The thought caused her to start out chuckling before it droned off to a laugh.

So... Not all is what it seems... Rina, Miyu, Takumi and Takehiko are my ocs, so... yeah...
