Chapter Sixteen: Pain's Defeat And The Cloud Rebuilding

Misaki and Sasuke wound up near Sakura, who had, thankfully, summoned Katsuyu. "Lady Katsuyu..." Misaki sighed before seeing the huge gap in the village. "Where's Naruto-niisan when we all need him?" She was kneeling in front of Katsuyu, facing the wreckage and barely able to see the man.

Pain looked right at her before remembering the woman Miyu's description of what she wanted. "Universal Pull!" He held his hand out.

Misaki felt a change and was suddenly tugged towards the caster, unable to stop. "What's going on?!" She tried to stop, but was met by something connecting to her gut. Looking down, she saw a rod of some sort in his hand. "Who a-are you?"

"I am Pain. I am God. I will judge all." Pain replied, grabbing Misaki's hair and holding her up with the ponytail. Before he could use another, he suddenly dropped her and backed up a good distance as a blonde head appeared.

"N-N-Naruto... Niisan..?" Misaki asked quietly, coughing slightly.

"Sorry I'm late." Naruto replied as Hinata knelt next to Misaki to try and heal her. He was in Sage mode, which made Misaki almost become smug at the fact that he was stronger now. He turned serious as he looked around, seeing some of his friends hurt, including old man A and Octo-Pops. "Alright.. Now it's personal. You harmed my family, my friends... I can never forgive you!"

Pain seemed to not be phased by Naruto's words. "Jinchuriki... Surrender both the girl and yourself. Your death will bring about peace." [[Even if I've seen the battle, I won't describe the entire fight due to not wanting much copyright or stuff...]]

Misaki and the others had their eyes peeled on the intense battle, Sakura finishing up what Hinata had supported as Tenten pulled the rod out. "Yeow... Pull harder next time, why don't you?" She grumbled before sitting up with help from Ino and Sakura, since Sasuke had vanished. "What is it with me getting stabbed? I can only take so much."

That got a tiny smirk from the others before Neji spoke. "You just get unlucky, Lady Misaki."

Hinata had her Byakugan fixed on the battle for another hour before sighing. "Naruto-kun beat Pain... It's over." She announced as the Raikage and Killer Bee walked up.

"Yo, that's just like Naruto. He beats the bad guys and has no need to improvise~ Weeeeee!" Bee rapped, nodding.

Naruto nearly fell over but was shocked by seeing Sasuke supporting him. "Teme...?" He questioned.

"Hn. Shut up, dobe and relax. I've got ya." Was the reply as the two walked to join up with everyone. "How is it, when either of us wind up winning a battle, the other usually has to support the winner?"

"Hmph. Cause we're that good?" Naruto said, grinning as the group came into view. "Wha?" He mustered as he saw their friends clapping and cheering. "Oh, no... Don't let me go, teme... I hate that look in their eyes.." He shuddered at how much praise and happiness were in their eyes.

"Hn. Forget it.." Sasuke replied, as he nearly shoved Naruto into the group before noticing Sakura and Misaki were missing.

Naruto seemed to notice. "Where's Misaki-imouto and Sakura-chan?" He asked.

As if summoned, Sakura walked forward, supporting Misaki so there wasn't a strain on her wound. Pushing away, Misaki held her gut before hugging her adoptive brother, which shocked Naruto. "I knew you'd do it, niisan... Thank you..." She said, trying to hold her tears of happiness back.

Naruto pulled back and grinned at her. "Imouto, I will always protect those who are dear to me. Even if it costs me my life, I will save them!" He said, ruffling her hair, dislodging her ponytail. "Plus, as if I'd be taken down before I become Hokage. Speaking... I saw the Fourth Hokage! It was awesome!" Everyone's jaw nearly fell off at the announcement. "Plus, I found out he's my dad!"

A was the only one who wasn't shocked. "Not surprised. I could've told you that. You look just like him... Though, he did mention not to let you kno-"

"I know that. It was for my own safety. Just like my mom said." Naruto seemed to have gotten over the amount of sage chakra he had used, plus the fact Kurama might've escaped if he wasn't on good terms with said fox. Hinata smiled as those who were able, Misaki included despite having wounds, helped clean up the village to a point where A said the villagers could take over. On the way back, Naruto had his hands behind his head in a carefree way. "Man, I need some ramen... I'm starved."

Misaki grinned from her spot on Kiba's back. "Niisan, you always are hungry... But, we all need something to eat, so maybe we can hurry and eat?" Everyone noticed that, after living with Naruto and spending time with him, Misaki was turning into another Naruto, but one that had manners whenever they went out to eat. While everyone was arguing where to eat, Misaki reflected on the comfort Kiba had given to her when she found out that her parents were dead. Realizing the direction most of her thoughts were going, she shook her head and focused on the argument, which had dragged Kiba into it.

"Come on, Naruto, you guys eat at Ichiraku everyday! Try some other food, like barbeque or something!" Kiba stated as even Sasuke nodded in agreement.

"Alright... I'll just tell Teuchi that I needed a break." Naruto groaned as his stomach growled as if reminding him it was hungry. He wondered exactly why Nagato and Konan trusted him like Pervy Sage did, but he knew he would never break his promises, except for the fact he had promised Misaki he'd help find her parents, who were dead, and probably failed that promise. Looking over his shoulder, he blinked when he saw she had fallen asleep on Kiba's back, despite everything.

Sakura saw where he was looking and smiled softly. "She's exhausted... Can't blame her. A few hours nap and I bet she'll be up to anything..." She stated softly.

Naruto sighed in relief. "Man... I still can't believe Misaki is a sister to me.." He grumbled a little. "Then again, everyone's like my big, disoriented family!" He said, earning glares from Neji, Sasuke and even Sakura.

"Say that again, dobe and I'll shove my Chidori as far as it can go into that head of yours." Sasuke stated as monotonous as if discussing the weather.

"Screw you too, teme." Naruto shot back. "You know what I meant! We're so dysfunctional that it works!"

That got Shikamaru to laugh. "He's right... Man, never thought I'd ever say that about you, Naruto. You have really gotten smart over the years.. Even if you still are a pain to deal with."

"I'm not like you, teme and Neji though, Shikamaru. I'm not the brightest one... But, I learn through fists, like teme over there." Naruto glanced at Sasuke.

"Hn. I'll still be better than you, dobe." Came the reply and thus began the two's umpteenth argument that day.

Hinata and Sakura rolled their eyes and sighed. "It's like those two have the same mind, but one's not using it." Sakura commented, glancing at Kiba, who was staring at the sleeping girl on his back. "I think we need to find a way to hook Kiba and Misaki up." She said, getting Hinata to glance their way.

"Sakura-chan... Let's just let it run its course..." Hinata stated, even knowing it probably didn't sink into the rosette's head.

Arriving at the village, Misaki was awake and allowed to walk, since her wounds needed to be tested. When they sat down to eat, both Sakura and Ino started questioning how she felt so at ease around Kiba, which earned a stammer from her and a failed explanation from Kiba, who had a slight flush to his face. Even Naruto and Sasuke started questioning the two until Kiba couldn't take it anymore.

"Will you all stop? All she is to me is my comrade, like Akamaru! That's why we're at ease! She is to me what Sakura is to Naruto! That's all!" He stated, which satisfied the ones questioning him, except for Sakura and Hinata, who had really grown close to Misaki, as they looked towards Misaki.

Before it got out of hand, Sakura decided to switch the conversation. "Alright, we get it... Now, Ino-pig, why not go on that tangent you wanted to before the two numbskulls here started arguing about who's stronger." She waved in Naruto and Sasuke's direction when she said 'numbskulls'.

Misaki, not wanting to be around longer than she wanted, stood up. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. I need to rest up." She stated, smiling lightly as she left, Hinata following after to make sure she made it.

Naruto raised an eyebrow at Misaki's shift in personality before Sakura's comment hit both him and Sasuke between the eyes. "I'm not-"

"Hush!" Ino growled before returning to her conversation with everyone.

Hinata managed to catch up to Misaki. "Misaki-chan... About Kiba-kun..."

Misaki turned her smile to Hinata. "It's alright. I completely understand. I mean, it's great that he thinks of me like that. Just shows how close we really are." She said even as her voice broke, which the Hyuga heiress picked up on and hugged her.

"He just snapped under the questions. I'm sure he didn't mean it like that." Hinata said, comforting her before feeling as if the words she said didn't sink in and she returned to the restaurant.

Naruto raised his eyebrows in her direction before she resumed talking to Sakura about something girly and met Sasuke's own stare. "Teme, why're you staring at me? Stare somewhere else!"

"Hn." Sasuke replied, grinning like an idiot before resuming a talk with Shikamaru about something that Naruto wasn't interested in.

Sakura chuckled at Naruto and Sasuke's interaction before leaning over to talk to Hinata. "How was she?" She asked quietly.

"Not good.. She.. really likes Kiba-kun." Hinata whispered back before giggling at a certain Uchiha glimpsing between Sakura's posture and the conversation with Shikamaru. "But, I think you might have someone's attention, Sakura-chan." She said.

Sakura blinked before catching Sasuke slightly looking at her out of the corner of his eyes, blushing and sitting down. "Man, that Uchiha.." She grumbled lightly before laughing at something Ino said. After they parted ways, Sakura, Sasuke, Kiba, Naruto and Hinata all went the same way. "You know, Sasuke-kun, I could really send you flying for looking at my butt earlier. But, since I have more important things on my mind than that, I'll let it slide."

"Speaking... Why did Misaki-imouto leave so early?" Naruto asked, clearly worried. "Was it her wounds acting up again? Cause if so, I'll use my Rasengan on your ass, Kiba!"

"Naruto-kun... Don't start..." Hinata pleaded, frowning as Kiba shrugged the comment off and left. "Thing is... Misaki... Might have a crush on Kiba-kun.."

"How is it you girls know this? Do you have another sense or something?" Naruto questioned, getting hit on the head by Sasuke. "What was that for, teme?!"

"Dobe, anyone can tell that she likes him... Not that hard to see." Was the snide comment before a punch nearly hit his head. "Sakura! What are you trying to do? I'm not the dobe. He's over there!" He pointed before retracting his hand least it go flying off with a kunai. "Whatever I did, I'm sorry!"

Naruto nearly chuckled at how Sasuke was easy to apologize to at least Sakura, mostly because he didn't want to wind up in the hospital for broken ribs or whatever Sakura broke with a punch. He, himself ducking under a Gentle Step Twin Lion Fist, had his own problem. "Uhh, Hina-hime! I'm not an enemy! Stop! I'm sorry I'm slow! No need to try and shut down a chakra point!" He guarded before dodging a fist, the contact to the nearby tree snapping it as easily as his chopsticks he uses to eat ramen. Gulping, he glanced at Sasuke. "Teme! What's up with them?" He asked.

"I can't tell cause I'm kind of busy here! But one thing is for sure, there's no sign of anything being cast on them or anything! They're completely normal!" He explained, jumping to avoid another punch right before both stopped attacking. "Hey, you alright?" He questioned, not daring to go closer least he get a punch to the gut.

At the question, both girls took off, making them follow and ask what was wrong. Naruto glanced and saw that he and Sasuke weren't the only ones chasing down the girls. Neji, Shikamaru and Kiba were also chasing someone. When they got to the gates, the girls landed besides a cloaked figure.

"Who are you and what do you think your doing?" Naruto demanded.

"My mission is to collect.. That is all.. And to pass on this message." The cloaked figure stated, tossing a scroll at Shikamaru, who caught it with one hand. "Heed the words to that and your dear ones will be unharmed." With those words, the cloaked figure vanished, with the girls.

"Hinata!" Naruto called, over the other boys calling their girl. "Damnit!" He punched the ground as he wondered what kind of freak would want Sakura, Misaki, Hinata, Tenten and Ino.

Naruto: What's gonna happen?!

Sasuke *EMS active*: If anything happens to Sakura... You'll die.

Neji: And I'll make you regret hurting Tenten.

Me: Relax, boys... I have ideas.

Shikamaru: Your 'ideas' end up with someone either getting hurt or f***ked... I really hate both choices.

Me: Shika-kun, I'd never harm a hair on their head.

Sasuke: Need I remind you of a few incidents in another story?

Me *embarrassed*: Well... TSUANDE! Read a comment, please!

Tsunade: You're digging a hole, you know that? *sigh* From Ayrmed on chapter 15: 'LOL WAY TO GO HINATA!'
