Chapter Seventeen: Under The Spell

Hinata's mind wandered around, while trying to remember what was going on. Looking to her left, she saw Sakura, Ino, Misaki and even Tenten were almost in a similar state. All she could hear, however, was a little buzzing and an occaisional smell that was so wonderful, she nearly passed out at the greatness of it. If she could describe it, she would think Naruto was in her nose all the time. Just how he occasionally smelt like ramen made her shiver. A noise caught her attention as she and the other five arrived where their bodies have taken them. She saw a beautiful raven-haired woman with piercing violet eyes, looking at them with contempt from a window as a masked man stood beside the one who, she assumed, was casting this genjutsu.

The masked man turned towards the caster before looking to the window. "Miyu, I believe Youko should stop the genjutsu, I can handle them now."

Miyu, the woman, left the window and faced them. "Youko, go." She ordered before smiling. "Ahh, Misaki, you've returned to us. Now, these four I have no use for, so dispose of them as you see fit." Her eyes glowed as chains wrapped around them. "These chakra chains tighten when you fight against them. Tobi, make it so Misaki here doesn't fight."

"You don't order me, woman... You sent our leader to his death over this girl and many of my comrades have also fallen to the Leaf ninja, some of who are in front of you. Besides, I want to keep them alive to drag out the Nine-Tails and the others."

Miyu nodded and bent down to be at eyelevel with Misaki. "If you use the Jibakugan, I'll release you. If you try to use it on me, however, your friends will pay." To prove her point, Miyu's violet eyes lightened and she held two fingers up.

Hinata nearly screamed when the chains grew thorns and dug into her jacket and found its way to pierce her skin. Sakura and the others, she dimly noted, also felt the same pain. 'Na-Naruto-kun... Don't come... It's a trap! Please...' Her mind begged, despite knowing her blonde boyfriend was reckless when it came to those in danger.

The boys, on the other hand, were a mixture of emotions back at the Leaf when Tsunade approached. "What's the fuss about at this time of night?" The Hokage asked, looking for answers from someone.

Naruto's fists were clenched as Shikamaru walked over. "Granny... Sakura-chan, Ino-chan, Hinata-hime, Tenten and Misaki-imouto were..."

"Taken." Shikamaru finished, handing her the note. "According to this, we have to hand over not only the Nine-Tails but let them keep Misaki... If we comply, they'll let the four go without a fuss... However, if we don't, they'll use Misaki's Jibakugan to force them to kill each other."

"Hmm..." Tsunade pondered. "Have you made a choice?"

"Of course! I'll go save all of them, my sister included! I won't let anyone use her like a toy!" Naruto stated, fire in his eyes meaning he was dead serious about it.

"But, Naruto... Think of it. What if it's a trap?" Tsunade countered.

"So what? I won't let anything stop me from rescuing my sister, girlfriend and best friends!" Naruto stated. "I don't know about you guys, but Misaki-imouto is the closest and only family I really have that I admit to... I took her as a sister and, because of that, I made a vow to always protect her from anything. If you guys don't think she's worth it, then stay here." He said.

That got a silent reply before Sasuke smirked slightly. "Dobe, you can be smart when you want to be. But, I'm going with. Misaki is a part of Team Kakashi, which is almost like my own family. That and anyone that harms Sakura will face my Sharingan. Not that there's anything going on between us, so wipe that smirk off that face, dobe!" He added, smacking him over the head.

"Eh heh heh. Whatever you say, teme." Naruto said, chuckling before looking at the others. "Well?"

Kiba chuckled. "Akamaru and I have really thought of Misaki-chan as your sister and we wouldn't hear the end of it if we didn't go. That and you'd be moping around too much to deal with. We're in."

"Man, what a drag. I really don't want to go, but Ino's my girlfriend... Don't tell her I told you that or else I'll strangle you alive." Shikamaru stated, going over to the little line. "That and Misaki-chan owes me a game of shogi." He teased.

"I will help. Tenten is probably the only member of Team Guy that doesn't wear on someone." Neji added. "Lady Misaki has proven she is needed around here as much as you."

"I see how it is..." Tsunade began, making them all fear she'd explode. "Alright. Since Neji's the only Jonin, he'll be the squad leader. I'll deem this group, the Kunoichi Retrieval Team! Go and bring back our kunoichis!" She ordered, sending them off with the wave of her hand as Shizune came closer.

"Milady... Was it wise to send all five of them?" She asked.

"Shizune. Knowing our enemy is hard, but protecting our kunoichis... That's even harder. Those five have a stake right now and I'm betting on them with all I have." Tsunade said. "Now.. I want some sake!"

Shizune sighed. "Yes, Milady."

Tobi raised his head from the 'questioning' of the pink-haired girl to sound like he was smirking as he turned towards Misaki and Miyu. "We might have visitors... I'll watch these girls, you should move to the next location... Kabuto here will lead you." He stated, not making it a question.

"Just like I don't order you, YOU don't order ME! Just make sure the girl is at least conscious... I still need her." Miyu shot back, following Kabuto to a nearby tunnel.

Misaki glared at Tobi. "Let us go! You'll pay for this, you.. masked bastard!" She said, standing up before rushing right at him, aiming at his gut like a ram. When she went through him and collided with the wall, she groaned at the pain from both the chains and the collision.

"Tsk tsk. Bad girl." Tobi said, bringing a long chain thing and using it to whip her before putting it back after four whips.

"Misaki-chan!" Sakura called, clearly worried for her friend, huddled beside the other three. "Leave her alone! I know Naruto won't let you get away with hurting his friend!"

"You.. Shut up... I know she's his adopted sister... I know all.." Tobi stated, walking towards the other girls and grabbing Sakura by the chains. "And... You.. I am still trying to figure you out... What is it that has that young Uchiha drawn to you and away from the path of hatred, his destined path?"

"W-What? Sasuke-kun's my teammate and we're back to being friends! You can't force anyo-" She was cut off by Tobi's knee to her gut before that same leg's foot sent her into the wall beside Misaki, who was coming to.

"Forehead's right! No one can be forced to accept anything!" Ino agreed before Tobi backhanded her, sending her into a pillar.

Tenten spit at him, using the blood she had gathered from her cut lip. "You just wait... We have perhaps the strongest shinobi as teammates! They won't give up on any of us!" A foot sent her through the window above Sakura and Misaki, the glass creating more cuts. She made herself try to get to a sitting position before catching glimpse of said shinobi, all of whom stopped to hide both beside the window and under it as Neji knelt down. "Guys." She sighed quietly.

"Ten.. Where are..." Neji was interrupted by a female scream from the broken window. "Nevermind... How are the others?"

"..." Tenten looked down. "M-Misaki-chan's really bad, Ino too. Sakura hasn't moved from where she was sent by Misaki-chan... I don't know about Hinata.. Last I checked, she wasn't rea-" She was interrupted this time by a cry that she knew too well. "Th-That's Hinata-chan..." She panted, one eye closing due to the blood flowing from the cut above her eye.

"I'll stay with Tenten.. Go make him pay..." Neji stated, urging them on.

Meanwhile, Sakura and Misaki were barely able to stand up after being sent flying again. Misaki had a cut on her lower lip, her right cheek, above her eyebrow, her forearms, legs and smaller scratches covering the rest of her body. Sakura was in worse shape, cuts decorating her own body like red tattoos. "S-S-Sakura-chan... W-W-We can't... G-Give up.." She mouthed, unable to speak due to how much it hurt to breathe, let alone talk. When Tobi faced Sakura with that whip, she closed her eyes to prevent the upcoming death only to re-open her eyes when the sickening sound was met with a clang. In front of Sakura was none other than Sasuke, who had the whip wrapped around his sword. A familiar leg was in front of her as she moved to try and sit up.

"Easy, Misaki-chan... We're here.. Don't worry." Kiba stated, Akamaru growling at Tobi as he bent to help her sit up. When she was sitting, Kiba was shocked to see her smiling at him, despite all the injuries.

Hinata sighed happily before frowning. "Kiba-kun... Careful... Misaki-chan's throat was also hit, though Sakura-chan managed to heal it..." A flash of orange besides her made her relax. "N-N-Naruto-kun..."

"Sorry we're late..." He said before nearly snarling at Tobi when he spoke. "You'll pay for this, you bastard. Not only did you hurt my sister, but my friends!? Add on the fact you dare lay a hand on the one I hold dear to my heart, you signed you death warrant!" He said, walking forward before going into his Four-Tailed form, completely under control.

Tobi actually looked shocked before backing up. "I'd love to toy around, but... I have important matters to attend to... Youko... You and Kiohiko deal with them." He said, using his Kamui to teleport away.

Naruto growled at his new opponents before sensing Sasuke standing beside him with a part of Susanoo surrounding him. Glancing, he saw how pissed the Uchiha was and caught a nod, something he knew from their youth: that they'd team up against these guys. Naruto gathered a small amount of chakra before eating it. Inhaling, he shot of his Chakra Gun that combined with the Fireball Jutsu Sasuke had sent.

Youko, who had bandages around her eyes, undid them and quickly disappeared, along with Kiohiko, who had instead, lept up to the ceiling and ran on the ceiling towards Ino, but was stopped by Shikamaru's Shadow Hold jutsu while Youko reappeared by Misaki and Kiba.

Using a little strength, Misaki used Kiba to stand up and use the hand seals to use her Jibakugan, keeping her eyes locked on Youko's amber colored ones. 'Jibakugan!' She silently called, since she didn't want to strain her voice as the genjutsu was cast, her body freezing up to ensure she wouldn't be moved. Misaki hated doing this to Youko, since she always looked up to the girl before she ran away.

The others, including Naruto, watched in amazement as Misaki controlled her genjutsu to the point where, when Youko succumbed, she deactivated it by going into Sage Mode and soon collapsing into Kiba's waiting arms. Naruto then looked towards his next target, Kiohiko, who was caught in Shikamaru's jutsu. Charging another Chakra Gun, he used a smaller one to enter through Kiohiko's shoulder and exit his gut due to the angle he was at. When the man dropped, hurt, but alive, to the ground, Naruto exited his Four-Tailed form and used two clones to bring the two to the Leaf before picking up Hinata.

Shikamaru did the same to Ino, who flushed. "What?" Shikamaru questioned.

"W-What are you doing, Shikamaru!?" Ino demanded, flinching at the pain the outburst caused.

"What's it look like? You're injured, I'm carrying you. You are such a drag, Ino.." He said as they left the building, Neji joining them carrying Tenten. "Let's get the girls to the village right away." He stated, taking off as fast as they could while being wary of the girls' injuries.

Hinata, being carried on Naruto's back like Misaki and Tenten were on Kiba and Neji respectively, blinked. "H-How did you know where we were, Naru-kun?" She asked.

"Neji and Sasuke. They picked out your chakra using their kekkai genkai. That and the smell of blood." Naruto said as if it were the easiest thing to know.

Hinata smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. "We knew you'd come... I knew..." She trailed off before falling asleep.

Naruto and the guys smiled softly at what Hinata said before arriving at the gates, to see Tsunade, Shizune, Kakashi, Guy and Kurenai there. "Granny! Senseis?" He asked the last part as they landed.

"You were reckless, weren't you, Naruto?" Kakashi joked a little before seeing the state of two of his students. "Let's go to the hospital and you can te-"

"Already ahead of you, Kakashi-sensei. I have two clones carrying two of the ones that were with Tobi.
Naruto pointed out as said clones landed. "We left them alive to a point where they'll tell ya everything."

Tsunade, who had been solomn through the whole thing, grinned. "That's Naruto... Well, let's go and get the girls healed up. I figure they'll be out in about two weeks for Tenten, Sakura, Hinata and Ino.. By the look of Misaki, she might be longer." With that, she lead them to the hospital, hoping that she'd be able to help the young kunoichis, three of whom were her students, Misaki recently becoming one.

Meanwhile, Miyu was livid at Tobi. "How dare you leave her there! If anything, you could've brought her with you!" She snarled, ending with her hands on her hips and a glare pointed right at him.

At that moment, Tobi had a flashback of a brown-haired girl who had yelled at him to be more careful and had the same pose the current woman held, except with a small grin on her features. Shaking his head, he ignored the furious raven-haired woman and went about planning another tactic.

Tsunade was right with how long Sakura and the others would be in the hospital, but was surprised that even Misaki recovered enough to at least get up and move a few hours a day. Sakura and Hinata were visiting when Sasuke, Naruto and Kiba came to get two of them.

"Wow. You're getting healthier, imouto." Naruto teased, grinning.

"Quit that. She still needs to rest her voice." Sakura jibed back, getting Misaki to laugh a little, hiding it behind her hand. "Well, we should get going. Rest up and you'll be able to get out of here soon." Sakura said, patting Misaki's bandaged hand before seeing Misaki frown and move to the other side, intending to get out of bed. "Misaki-chan! You already have been up today!"

Naruto watched in wonder as she found her crutches but instead used the wall to support herself before walking towards the guys, a worried look crossing his features until she flung herself at Naruto, hugging him so tightly that he turned blue. "I-I-Imouto... Can't... Breath!" He choked out, inhaling when she released him, but hung on his arm. "Sakura-chan, surely she can get out a little earlier? She has enough strength to suffocate me." He questioned before both felt Tsunade's presence behind them.

"I don't see why not. She's just a little weak, but as long as she doesn't overdo it, she'll be fine. But, no missions for at least five days, as long as she doesn't try to speak unless she wants to." Tsunade agreed before glaring. "However. The instant ANY of you take her on a mission, you'll be demoted to genin... Or even the academy!" Naruto, Kiba and Sasuke bolted down the hall before the girls helped Misaki change into a comfortable V-necked red shirt, a thigh-length black skirt and a black hooded cardigan. "Well, if anything, it'll give you a chance to wear nice clothes." Tsunade commented.

Misaki flushed before the three went to go find the guys who had bolted. Hinata noticed how cute Misaki was in black. "Misaki-chan.. Perhaps you could convince Kiba-kun to loan a jacket?" She asked, getting the girl to blush and shake her head violently. "Alright, alright... Just nice to see you up and about in something other than a gown."

Sakura nodded as she saw the three guys hiding behind a tree in the yard. "Alright, you three. Milady's not here! No need to hide anymore." The three looked relieved and rejoined them, Kiba pausing at how Misaki looked, which wasn't lost on either Hinata or Sakura. "Say, how bout we celebrate Misaki's release by a-"

"Ramen!" Naruto called, excited for his favorite food before Sai joined up. "Great.. Misaki was released and now we have Sai..."

"Greetings... May I join the talk?" Sai asked cautiously.

"Sure. We were just deciding if we could either go eat or go see a movie to celebrate Misaki's release." Sakura said, smiling.

"Twat's been released, huh? Nice to have you back. And, Ugly, if I may suggest something... Perhaps a compromise of both?" Sai said before getting a death glare from the party at the 'twat' comment and an even scarier glare from Sasuke and Sakura at the 'Ugly' comment. "Did I perhaps say something I should not have, Traitor?" He questioned before Naruto had to hold the Uchiha back.

"Sai! Perhaps using nicknames isn't a good idea if you don't have a good one!" Naruto warned as Misaki tried to calm Sakura down.

"And is there something you are good at, Dickless? Surely something besides fighting makes you have balls." Sai said, a 'smile' on his face.

This time it was Sasuke who had to hold Naruto back while fighting a laugh before they remembered Sai was raised in Root, therefore, had no idea how to either give nicknames nor how to act around others. Sakura sighed. "Sorry, Sai... We keep forgetting you were raised under Danzo and are having a hard time with things. Kiba, would you like to join Misaki and us when we go to the movies?" She asked.

Kiba blinked. "As in... a date?" He asked.

Sakura smiled wickedly. "You could think of it as that... I'm sur-"

"Sorry. I need to go take care of Akamaru and see what Hana has for me to do. See ya around." Kiba interrupted, nearly power walking to get away.

Naruto glared at the Inuzuka's retreating back before gently draping an arm around his sister. "Don't worry, Misaki... You have us." He said.

Misaki, on the other hand, sighed sadly when Kiba excused himself from the offer and nearly ran to get away from it before smiling and nodding at her brother. She wondered why Kiba insisted on avoiding her outside of missions. Perhaps he hated her and just acted nice around others, tears silently falling from her face at the conclusion of him hating her.

Naruto and the others caught the tears and, as Naruto wiped them away, promised to protect her, no matter what, from any kind of pain. Including that which they can't see.

Me: Awwwww! *takes picture of the two* Now kissy!

Sasuke/Sakura: NO! This isn't our fic!

Me: OOOO! Get Hina-chan in here and it'll be a kiss-fest!

Hinata *meeps as she's dragged out*: Bu-But S-Skittles-chan!
