Thank you all for your patience, because it will now be rewarded! Hope you enjoy this chapter. I will be providing explanations to your reviews at the end of the story.

I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V, only my character and the cards she uses. Any mention of other characters, shows and concepts are simply to help you understand the situation my character is in, nothing more, nothing less.

Chapter 14: Dark Awakening

Two days. That is how long Yuya was asleep for. Two straight days. during that time, I had been either forming possible combinations with my Decks, now implementing my two newest cards, or visiting Yuya. At the moment, I was doing the latter. As I walked to Yuya's house, I looked at a Deck that I was holding. Unlike my other ones, this was Yuto's Phantom Knights Deck. Since I retrieved it, I debated giving it to Shay and informing him on what happened to Yuto. Although, despite my immense bravery against him during my Duel with him, I was still a little bit frightened of him. After all, if he was angry with me when we Dueled, I could only imagine what would happen if he found out that his friend was gone. Now that was a rage I didn't want to be on the receiving end of. Perhaps I'll do it after the Championship. Less of a risk of being carded that way.

As I arrived at Yuya's house, I had to jump out of the way because Aura suddenly burst out of the front door and tried to run me over as she hurried to her first match.

"Talk about leaving it to the last second." I said to myself. "I wonder why Aura was at Yuya's house in the first place. Oh, wait, forget I said that, I don't wanna know."

I walked into the house and up to Yuya's room and saw Zuzu and Mrs. Sakaki sitting in front of his bed. Much like the last two days, Yuya was still unconscious, although, instead of wearing his normal grey pyjamas, he was wearing green and white chequered ones.

"How is he?" I asked them.

"No change." Zuzu told me.

"I saw Aura leaving for her match, I guess she heard what happened to Yuya and offered some 'mystical' advice?"

"Yes." Zuzu deadpanned. I chuckled and waited. After a few minutes, Yuya stirred and woke up.

"I was out cold for two whole days?" Yuya asked in disbelief.

"Yes, we couldn't wake you." His mother replied. "You must have been exhausted, son. After all, you were Dueling non-stop for weeks with hardly any rest and it must have been too much for your mind and body. You needed sleep."

"Yeah, but I missed part of the tournament. What's going on?" He asked.

"Well, the first round of the Junior Division is almost done." Zuzu responded. She then took out her Duel Disk. "Aura's Dueling now. I think they just got started, so we can check it out." She checked the live video feed on the tournament, but was unable to find Aura and her opponent. "Huh? Why aren't they showing her Duel? It's over?" She exclaimed in shock. "I can't believe it. It ended on the first turn. Aura has been eliminated."

"Moonshadow." I remembered.

"This championship is intense." Yuya said. "I knew we'd face great Duelists, but these guys are exceptional. Whoever wins it all will really be the best of the best."

"Even some of the younger Duelists are incredible." Zuzu told him as Mrs. Sakaki left. "Yesterday, Frederick had his Deck handed to him by that strange kid from Leo, Riley."

"Isn't Riley the one who defeated Allie?" Yuya asked.

"Yeah." Zuzu confirmed. "Riley Fusion Summoned to take her down. But this time, this time was different."

I winced at the memory of Frederick being beaten by Riley and his Synchro Monster.

"Riley Synchro Summoned?" Yuya said, surprised.

"Yeah, amazing right? Riley is still in the Youth Division but can Fusion and Synchro Summon. Add in an Xyz Summon, and that kid'll be like a pint-sized version of Declan Akaba."

Yuya stiffened at that.

"Fusion… Synchro… and Xyz." He said to himself, recalling what Yuto told him.

"You sound worried." Zuzu told him.

"Well, before, when I was Dueling Yuto, he told me something strange. That our world has been divided into four different dimensions."

"Different dimensions?" Zuzu asked.

"According to Yuto, there's a Fusion dimension, a Synchro dimension, and an Xyz dimension. They exist parallel to the Standard dimension we live in. Sora's from the Fusion Dimension, while Yuto and Shay come from the Xyz Dimension. Yuto said their two Dimensions are enemies. Sora was Dueling Yuto, but then he vanished."

"Vanished?"

"Yeah, Yuto believes Sora was transported back to the Fusion Dimension."

"You mean Sora isn't in our world anymore?" Zuzu asked him.

"Exactly." Yuya confirmed. "And after he disappeared, Yugo showed up."

"Who is Yugo?" Asked Zuzu, confused.

"He's another interdimensional guy, and he looks like me too." Yuya explained. "Yugo rode on this machine, kind of like a motorcycle. From what I could tell, he's a Duelist who comes from the Synchro Dimension."

"I don't get it." Said Zuzu. "All this dimensional stuff sounds so complicated. I thought Yuto was fighting to rescue Lulu from a Fusion Summoner."

"Maybe that was Yugo." Yuya mused. "Yuto called him a Fusion follower, even though he's from the Synchro Dimension. It seemed like the two of them Dueled before. They couldn't stand each other." He seemed lost in thought for a few seconds, then went over to his desk and picked up a card. Zuzu looked at it and recognised the Monster.

"Isn't that…"

"Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon." The boy finished. Yuto's Deck suddenly felt heavier in my pocket, as if it sensed the disappearance of its master.

"But what are you doing with one of Yuto's cards?" Zuzu asked him.

"He gave it to me," Yuya told her, "right after he saved my life."

I remembered the end of the Duel, when Clear Wing nearly struck Yuya, Yuto shoved him out of the way to take the full brunt of the impact.

"I'm not sure what happened to him after that." Yuya said. "Next thing I knew, I woke up here."

I saw Zuzu look at her bracelet as the pink gem gleamed in the light.

"It's strange." Yuya told her. "When Yuto handed this card to me, he said that I should use my Dueling to keep the world happy and entertained. I wonder if this card's gonna help me do that. It seems so unreal. First I met Yuto, and then Yugo turned up too. We're from different Dimensions, but we all look exactly the same. It feels like… like some kind of cosmic joke. I thought I was one of a kind, but I'm not."

"You're not the only one." Zuzu told him. "There's also someone who looks just like me and Luna."

"Hold up!" Yuya said. "So you're saying that someone else looks like you two as well?"

"First I've heard of it." I lied.

"When Yuto first saw me, he thought I was her." Zuzu said. "And when Shay saw me, he called me by the name Lulu."

"I wonder what all this means." Yuya said. He then looked at Dark Rebellion, and came to a decision. "Let's go find Shay. I bet he knows more." He said, surprising the pink-haired girl. "With Yuto and Sora out of the picture," the boy explained, "Shay is the only hope we have right now of discovering the answers we're looking for."

"You're right, Yuya." I agreed. "But I'm not sure he'd be in a talkative mood. Afterall, Yuto has vanished, so he'd be looking for any signs of him. If you aren't careful, he might think that you are the one responsible for your counterpart's disappearance. And believe me, you don't want to be on the business end of Rise Falcon."

A few minutes later, Yuya was changed into his usual clothes and we slid down the fireman pole into the kitchen.

"Mom, I gotta dash out for a while." He told Yoko.

"You're leaving without having breakfast?" She asked, surprised.

"Mm-hmm. I'll eat lunch twice to make up for it." He promised, running to the door.

"Wait, where are you going?" His mother asked.

"To the Championship."

I shook my head, smiling slightly, then followed.

The three of us arrived in record time and found our friends, with Gong spotting Yuya.

"Yuya! Buddy!" The Heavy-Strong Duelist cried, anime tears flowing down his face, embracing Yuya in a soul crushing hug. "Gong's as euphoric right now as a pack o' grizzlies in a honey factory. You had us all scared silly we'd never see you awake again."

"I just needed to catch some Z's." Yuya responded.

"You were passed out so long, you must've caught the whole alphabet." Skip told him. "I'm just glad you rolled out of bed before the second round gets underway."

"Hey, Yuya, over here!" A voice cried out. We turned around and saw Allie, Frederic and Tate arrive.

"Glad to see you're okay." Tate said.

"You Show has its Duelmeister back." Said Frederick.

"Hey!" I said, slightly insulted.

"Once we find Sora," he continued, "we'll all be together."

"He'll probably be turning up any minute now." Allie said excitedly.

I inwardly winced while Zuzu and Yuya couldn't meet their gaze.

"Maybe so," Gong said, "but we shouldn't start celebratin' till he's back."

"We searched high and low," Skip continued, "but so far we haven't found any sign of Sora. He's bound to turn up sooner or later."

"Yuya, my sweet." Called a familiar voice, which could only belong to Aura. We turned to see her looking happily at the tomato-haired boy. "My Duelmate has awakened."

"Duelmate?" Zuzu asked.

"I just knew my magic would revive you." Aura said, stars appearing in her eyes. "Now I only have to complete your cure with a kiss."

She then jumped at Yuya like a breaching whale and tried to kiss him, only for the boy to shift out of the way at the last moment. I then grabbed her by the collar before she hit the ground.

"Hey, let me go!" She demanded, flailing her arms and legs. I grinned and did as she asked, dropping her on the ground while she was still struggling. Yuya then started walking towards Julia, Kit and Dipper, who were watching what was happening.

"Yuya Sakaki." Dipper said to him. "Did you happen to catch my last Duel? I bet you were impressed by the way I summoned two Xyz Monsters in a row, weren't you? Of course, if we face off, I'll-"

"Zip it, Dipper." Yuya told him, causing the Xyz user to turn paper white and sweatdrop. "I wanna talk to Shay."

"Oh, yeah? About what?" Julia asked.

"It's for his ears only, Julia." Zuzu told her.

"Zuzu…"

"Tell him this is important." Yuya said. "It concerns the both of us."

"Forget it." Kit said, surprising them. "Don't waste your time, 'cause Shay will never agree to meet with you. He barely speaks to us and we're supposed to be teammates." He explained. "Well, I got a Duel to win. You losers should check it out. I'm up against Iggy Arlo. Pay close attention, you may learn something."

We watched as the Duel between Iggy and Kit got underway, and honestly, I'm kinda glad they censored it from the show. It was so brutal that I can't even describe it in words. At the end of it, Kit was lying face down on the arena floor in obvious pain. The crowd itself was stunned into silence; not even Nico had anything to say about it.

"And with that, we lower the curtain on the first round of the Junior Arc League Championship." The Duel Manager said, eager to change the subject. "Those advancing to round two may now access the official tournament datastream to learn their next matchups."

I slotted my card into my Duel Disk, and was met with the face of a boy called Seth Horus, a member of the Banded Warrior Academy. Inwardly, I knew that pulling off a show against someone who fights in hand-to-hand combat during a Duel would be tough to beat, so I would have to overwhelm him with my cards alone. And I already had the perfect Deck to do so.

The next day, Gong defeated Trick Taggart while blindfolded. Then Yuya faced off against Iggy in probably the most brutal Duel in the tournament. During the battle, when Yuya's personality shifted, I felt a stab of pain in my chest, along with that voice whispering in my head again. It ended when the Duel did, but that did not sooth my concerns. After that was Zuzu's Duel, which was definitely what was needed to put the crowd in a cheerful mood. When that ended, it was my turn. I walked onto the field, no emotion appearing on my face. I watched as my opponent stood opposite me, in equal silence.

"And now for the next Duel of the Championship!" Nico declared. "First up we have Luna Midnight of the You Show Duel School, who wowed us all in her previous Duel by pulling off one of the most incredible Xyz Summons to date. Facing her, we have another Duelist from the Banded Warrior Academy, Seth Horus! Now, before these ferocious fighters begin battling, let us see which Action Field they will be racing through!"

The large Action Card appeared and started spinning. It came to a stop, revealing the Field to be…

"And the chosen Action Field is none other than Savage Colosseum!" Nico announced. A large roman colosseum formed around us, with the sky above us covered in clouds. "This field is perfect for our two gladiators to battle it out in, so let's get to Dueling!"

"When I'm done with you," Seth told me, "you will be just a shadow of your former self!"

"Perhaps." I replied. "But I won't be going down without a fight!"

"Action…" Nico began.

"DUEL!" The two of us declared, activating our Duel Disks and drawing our cards.

Luna – 4000

Seth – 4000

"Ladies first." I said, looking at my hand. "I'll start off my summoning the Mathematian!"

A short man with a long white beard, round glasses wearing a robe and carrying a wand appeared.

Mathematician
Level – 3 – Attribute – Earth
Type – Spellcaster
ATK – 1500 – DEF – 500

"When Mathematician is Normal Summoned," I announced, "I can send 1 Level 4 or below Monster from my Deck to the Graveyard." The screen on my Duel Disk displayed my cards and I swiped through them and chose one. "The Monster I send to the Graveyard is my Shaddoll Beast!" The card slotted out of my Duel Disk and I picked it up and placed it in the Graveyard slot. It's picture then reappeared on the screen. "Shaddoll Beast's Special Ability activates! When he is send to the Graveyard by a card effect, I can draw one card! I now Set one card face-down and end my turn."

"It is my turn to draw." Seth told me. "And your turn to fall! I summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Gorilla!"

A man wearing black and purple armour, wielding a staff with flames coming from the tips appeared on the field, staring me down.

Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Gorilla
Level – 4 – Attribute – Fire
Type – Beast-Warrior
ATK – 1600 – DEF – 1000

"Now to take down your pathetic defence. Gorilla, destroy her Mathematician!"

I immediately dashed for an Action Card, spotting it not far from me. I reached out to grab it when I was viciously shoved aside. I landed on the ground painfully, and when I got up, I saw Seth pick up the Action Card.

"If you think I will just stand idlily by and let you grab an Action Card, then you are sorely mistaken." He looked at the card and played it. "I activate the Action Spell, Savage Calling. Since I have a Monster on my field, I can summon another one from my hand who's Level and Attribute match it. I summon Fire King Avatar Barong!"

A muscular, red-skinned, human-like creature appeared on Seth's field, wearing black and gold clothing, no shirt, along with a golden crown on his head. He had black, mane-like hair and a long black beard. he also carried a pair of large swords and stared me down with a dark glare.

Fire King Avatar Barong
Level – 4 – Attribute – Fire
Type – Beast-Warrior
ATK – 1800 – DEF – 200

"Fire King?!" I thought to myself, paling slightly. "I am severely doomed."

"Gorilla, continue your attack!" Seth ordered. The Monster slammed his staff into mine, destroying it.

Luna – 4000 – 3900

"Barong, attack her directly!"

I started running as fast as I could, searching for another Action Card. I saw one up ahead and ran for it. Suddenly, Fire King Avatar Barong landed in front of me and swung a sword at my midsection. I was flung back, landing on the ground with a pained gasp.

Luna – 3900 – 2100

"Since my Gorilla destroyed your pathetic excuse for a Monster," Seth explained, "I can Set one Fire Formation Spell from my Deck onto the field." A card appeared on Seth's field. "I now activate my Spell! Fire Formation - Tenki! Thanks to its effect, I can now add 1 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior from my Deck to my hand. I choose Fire King High Avatar Garunix!" he took a card from his Deck, showed it to me and added it to his hand. "And as an added bonus, Tenki also boosts the Attack Points of all my Beast-Warrior Monsters by 100. I think that's enough pain for now, I Set one card and end my turn."

Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Gorilla
ATK – 1600 – 1700
Fire King Avatar Barong
ATK – 1800 – 1900

I slowly stood up, holding myself where the sword struck me.

"M-my turn," I said, "I draw!" I looked at the cards in my hand, contemplating on what I should do. "Shaddoll Dragon." I thought to myself. "It'll be useful with getting rid of that Spell, but only temporarily." I then looked at the only card on my field. "However, my face-down card is Sinister Shadow Games. If I plan this right, I might stand more of a chance against Seth." "For my first move, I set one Monster face-down in Defence Mode!" The card appeared on the field.

"Playing defence again?" Seth asked. "It doesn't matter, no defence you create will stop me from taking you down!"

"It should matter," I said, smirking, "because I activate the Trap, Sinister Shadow Games! Here's how it works; first, I must send one Shaddoll card from my Deck to my Graveyard." I searched through my Deck and chose one. "Reeshaddoll Wendi should do the trick. Now, the second effect of my Trap activates, allowing to flip as many face-down Monsters into face-up Defence Position. I Flip Summon my Shaddoll Hound! Now it's Flip effect activates. I can target 1 Shaddoll card in my Graveyard and add it to my hand. I choose Shaddoll Beast." The card slotted out from my Graveyard slot and I placed it back into my hand. "Now my Reeshaddoll Wendi's ability activates! When she is sent to my Graveyard via a card effect, I can Special Summon a Shaddoll Monster from my Deck in face-down Defence Mode. I choose Shaddoll Squamata! I'm afraid that's all I can do for now. It's your turn."

"Finally, I get to pummel you some more!" Seth said, drawing his card. "I Tribute both my Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Gorilla and my Fire King Avatar Barong to call forth Fire King High Avatar Garunix!"

A large, phoenix-like Monster appeared, screeching as it spread its wings.

Fire King High Avatar Garunix
Level – 8 – Attribute – Fire
Type – Winged Beast
ATK – 2700 – DEF – 1700

"Next I activate the Rekindling Spell Card." Seth announced as I started running, searching for another Action Card and hoping that I'll survive he onslaught. "Now I can bring back as many Fire Monsters in my Graveyard as I have. Say hello to my Barong again."

The red Monster reappeared, letting out an almighty roar as he did.

Fire King Avatar Barong
ATK – 1800 – 1900

"Garunix, destroy that Hound!"

The phoenix swooped down at my Shaddoll Hound, lighting itself on fire as it did. It struck my Monster, destroying it as I headed to an Action Card that I spotted as I reached out for it, Seth rammed into me again, sending me sprawling.

"Barong," he ordered, "eliminate her last Monster."

The Fire King raised a blade and sliced into my Monster, destroying it. I smiled.

"Sorry, but the joke's on you." I told him "Squamata's Flip effect now activates! I can now target one Monster on your field and destroy it."

A dark hole appeared in the ground and strings shot out and wrapped around High Avatar Garunix, dragging it into the darkness below.

"Amazing!" Nico said. "At first it looked like Seth had the upper hand, but Luna tricked him into destroying his own Monster by setting a deadly trap!"

"Just because my Garunix is destroyed, doesn't mean you've seen the last of him." Seth warned. "I end my turn."

"My move." I said, getting up. "I draw. I set one Monster face-down and end my turn."

"If that's all you got, then you better quit now." Seth told me. "I draw." He then smiled at me. "Now I activate my Fire King High Avatar Garunix's special ability! Since you were foolish enough to destroy it with a card effect, I can now resurrect it from the dead! Arise once more my mighty beast!"

The massive phoenix reappeared on Seth's field as I gulped.

"I really hope this works." I thought. "If it doesn't, not only will I be out of the Championship, but I may just end up in the hospital like Sora was."

"I now Summon my Flamvell Firedog!" Seth declared.

A large dog made of charcoal appeared on the field, howling.

Flamvell Firedog
Level – 4 – Attribute – Fire
Type – Beast
ATK – 1900 – DEF – 200

"Barong, destroy her last defence!" Seth ordered.

When Barong slashed my Monster and destroyed it, it revealed itself to be a demon-like puppet black and gold amour.

"Qadshaddoll Keios' Flip effect activates!" I announced. "Now I can Special Summon one Shaddoll Monster from my hand in face-up or face-down Defence Position. I set Shaddoll Dragon face-down!"

"It doesn't matter how many Monsters you summon." Seth told me. "They will all fall by my hand either way. Flamvell Firedog, destroy her Monster!"

The dog ran forward and bit my Dragon, destroying it.

"Shaddoll Dragon's Flip effect activates." I declared. "When my Dragon is flipped face-up, I can target one card on your field and send it back to your hand. Say goodbye to your Garunix."

The phoenix screeched once, then burst into gold sparks, showing it's card form for a few seconds, then disappearing. Seth then took the card from his Duel Disk's blade and placed it back into his hand.

"You got lucky this time." Seth told me. "But it won't happen again."

"We'll see." I told him. "I draw!" I looked at the cards in my hand. "Felis, Lightsworn Archer? Not good. Even though she has 2000 Defence Points, she can't be Normal Summoned or Set. The other cards in my hand are Monsters too. The only option I have left is Setting one of my Naelshaddoll Ariels and praying I find an Action Card." "I Set a Monster and end my turn." I then started running again, searching for an Action Card that would at least help me survive to my next turn.

"Is that all you can do?" Seth asked me, drawing a card. "You're a joke. I summon my Fencing Fire Ferret!"

A small white ferret with a row of sharp blades attached to it's tail appeared on Seth's field.

"Flamvell Firedog, destroy that last face-down Monster!" The fiery canine charged at Seth's order and slammed into my face-down, revealing it to be my Naelshaddoll Ariel, which was promptly destroyed. "Now my Fencing Fire Ferret attacks you directly."

I spotted another Action Card and made a beeline for it. Seth noticed it as well and slammed me out of the way and grabbed it for himself.

"I activate the Action Spell, Extreme Sword!" He said, playing it. "Now my Firedog gains 1000 Attack Points. Looks like this Duel will be ending sooner than I thought."

Flamvell Firedog
ATK – 1900 – 2900

I looked up and saw the hound heading my way, then spotted an Action Card right in front of me. Sparing no time, I immediately picked it up and played it. I waited for the hit, only to be surprised as Flamvell Firedog charged straight past me.

"How did you…" Seth began, only for me to interrupt him.

"The Action Card Evasion." I told him, relieved. "It allows me to avoid you attack."

"Impossible, where did you get that Action Card."

"When you pushed me out of the way." I explained. "It was right in front of me, allowing me to pick it up and play it just before your attack hit."

"What an amazing outcome!" Nico said. "If Seth didn't stop Luna from getting that first Action Card, he could have won the Duel!"

"It doesn't matter whether or not you got that card." Seth said. "Because I still have one Monster left to take you down! Fire King Avatar Barong, attack her directly!"

With a speed that should have been impossible for a Monster of that size, Barong charged forward and slammed both of his swords into me and launched me across the arena, with me impacting the wall with enough force to create a crater in it. I slid down, settling on the ground.

Luna – 2100 – 300

"You're almost done. I end my turn." I barely heard what Seth said due to the ringing in my ears and the immense pain I was in. I could barely think, and my only thoughts were screams of agony. I opened my eyes as much as I could do so, and saw everything was getting darker. As I was slipping into unconsciousness, I saw a tall, dark figure standing before me. It reached out to me with a shadowy arm, and then all I saw was darkness.

The audience watched as the maroon-haired girl slowly stood up again, even though they assumed she must have been in pain.

"Still moving? Ha, either you're stronger than you look, or are just too stupid to recognise how much pain you're in right now." Mocked Seth. As Luna straightened up, her eyes shot open, revealing that the pupils of her eyes were now glowing a piecing blue. His blood ran cold as she stared at him, seeming to stare into his very soul itself.

"My turn." She said simply, drawing her card. She then immediately played it. "I activate the Fusion Spell, Imbalance of Dark and Light." The card appeared, it's picture displaying a pair of broken scales, one side gold and the other pitch black. On the black scale was a purple fiend, while on the other was a golden dragon. "With its effect, I can now Fusion Summon using Monsters in my Deck as the Fusion Materials." Luna stated as two cards ejected from her Deck. "As a bonus effect, I can activate the effect of one of those Monsters. I fuse together my Shaddoll Beast and my Homunculus the Alchemic Being, who's Attribute is now Divine."

The two cards appeared on the field, then burst into sparks, with Shaddoll Beast being a dark purple and Homunculus being a bright gold. The two streams of sparks swirled together on the ground in front of Luna, then disappeared. The massive tower appeared behind the girl as roses bloomed under her feet, but with many dying just as they did, forming a large circle of dead flowers with Luna being in the middle of them. She then started chanting, but unlike when she summoned Midnight Hope, it sounded eerie and dark.

"Almighty Dark Tower, Nexus of the Multiverse, open the door to the forbidden room and unleash the guardian of Doom. I Fusion Summon, arise and bring despair to my enemies, Shaddoll, Spirit of the Ring."

A large Monster that bore a resemblance to El Shaddoll Construct appeared on the field. It towered over Seth's three Monsters and possessed four dark arms, all of which ended with four sharp claws. It's eyes were a dark, shadowy purple and at the center of its chest, it wore a large golden ring, with five sharp spikes attached to the ring splayed across the its chest. At the center of the ring was a large triangle with an eye at the center of it. The Monster gave off an aura that promised pain and suffering to it's enemies as it stared down at its opponents.

Shaddoll, Spirit of the Ring
Level – 12 – Attribute – Divine
Type – Doom-Nexus
ATK – ? – DEF – ?
Summoning Type – Fusion

"Shaddoll's effect activates." Luna announced. "I now send the top five cards from my Deck to the Graveyard, then my Monster gains 500 Attack Points for every card in my Graveyard."

Shaddoll, Spirit of the Ring
ATK – ? – 7500

"My Monster now attacks your Fire King Avatar Barong with Shadow Doom." The girl stated. Seth immediately started running, aiming for an Action Card he spotted.

"If this attack hits," Nico informed the crowd, "Seth will take 5600 points of damage, effectively ending the Duel and any chances of him proceeding to the next round!" Shaddoll then held all its arms out and a sphere of darkness formed. It then launched it at Barong, with the only intent of destroying it.

"Not a chance!" Seth told him. "I activate the Action Card, Evasion!"

"I activate my own Action Spell," Luna told her opponent, "No Action. This negates and destroys your Action card."

The card that formed on Seth's field then shattered, just as the attack hit his Monster, obliterating it and launching him across the arena.

Seth – 4000 – 0

Luna – Win

As the field dissipated, the crowd was silent. With the You Show group, the seven of them just stared at Luna.

"She just…"

"One shotted him." Zuzu finished what Yuya said. "Without batting an eye."

"She looks scary now." Allie said.

"The winner is Luna Midnight!" Nico announced, shocked himself.

The light faded from Luna's eyes as they rolled up into her head and she collapsed on the ground, completely unconscious. A few medics ran onto the Action Field and checked both of the Duelists. Inside LID, Declan stared at the screen, no emotion displaying on his face.

"The results from Luna's Fusion Summon are identical to her Xyz Summon her first Duel, Mr President." Claud informed him.

"Thank you, Claud. That will be all." Declan said. He continued to stare at the monitor, watching as the medics took the two Duelists away.

I slowly opened my eyes. I looked around and realised that I was in my bed at Zuzu's house. There were band-aids placed on my arms and face, but there were few of them. I slowly sat up, wincing as I did. I noticed there was no-one in my room, so I got out of bed, the back of my head throbbing as it did. I spotted my jacket hanging on a hook on the back of my door and my combat boots on the floor. On my desk was my Duel Disk, along with one of my Decks. I went over to my jacket and my boots and put them on, then I put my Duel Disk and cards away. I then left my room and walked into the main area, noticing that it was empty. I checked the time and noted that it had been several hours since my Duel, and that I was registered as the winner.

"They must be at You Show." I said to myself, and headed out of the house. After a while, I arrived at the You Show Duel School and went into the elevator, the pain now faded over the time I took to get to the school. The doors opened and I saw everyone, with the exception of Gong, Sora and Yoko watching the T.V. intently.

"I see you all have been keeping yourselves entertained." I said. Their heads whipped around as I spoke.

"Luna!" The three kids said, surprised to see me.

"What are you doing here?" Yuya asked. "I thought you were supposed to be recovering from your Duel."

"All I needed was a bit of rest, that's all." I said, smiling, although I was wincing slightly from a sharp twinge that formed as I did that.

"You were thrown into a wall!" Zuzu told me. "That kind of injury isn't something you can just walk off!"

"Yet I did. Interesting, isn't it?" I looked at the T.V. "Looks like they're about to tell us who made it."

Just as I said that, the reporter on the news started talking.

"And now in Duel news." She began. "After days of intense competition, the Junior Division of the ARC League Championship has concluded its second round. There are now just 32 Duelists that remain. And you better believe we'll be seeing their best as they battle it out for the top prize. Now, let's meet them, shall we?"

"Yeah! Here we go!" Skip said excitedly.

"First up is Zuzu Boyle from the You Show Duel School."

"Yeah!" Skip shouted. "Zuzu, my pride and joy! Let's hear it for Zuzu! Let's get loud!"

His pride and joy then stood up and hit him with her teleporting fan.

"I'm hitting the mute button!" She declared.

"Next up, also from the You Show Duel School, an up-and-coming Dueltainer who came up with a new Duel strategy- Pendulum Summoning- Yuya Sakaki. So far in this tournament, we've seen Yuya defeat Sylvio Sawatari of the Leo Institute and Iggy Arlo of the Banded Warrior Academy in a hard fought battle that seemed to turn a big ugly at the end!"

Yuya's face fell at that, probably thinking of what happened.

"And now we have Luna Midnight of the You Show Duel School, a talented Duelist who blazed through her opponents with a pair of well-timed Summons. Although during the second round, her Duel seemed to rival that of Yuya's."

I took my most recent addition to my cards out of my pocket and looked at it.

"Shaddoll, Spirit of the Ring." I thought to myself, trying to recall the final moments of the Duel. I saw Zuzu stand up and offer her hand to Yuya.

"Just wanted to say congrats, Yuya." She told him. "I know that we're officially rivals, but whatever happens, let's remember that we're also friends."

"Right." Yuya said, taking it and standing up. "I just hope that neither you nor Luna aren't my next opponents. After all, I saw both of your last Duels. You both sure got skills. I wish you luck, guys."

"Oh! What sportsmanship!" Skip cried, literally crying anime tears. "Yeah, well-done, Yuya. Just like I taught ya."

"You'd think he made the cut." Said Frederick, with fingers in his ears.

"I wish he'd cut back on the caffeine." Said Allie.

"And in addition to the three Duelists from the Knights of the Duel Disc Duel School," Joy continued, "the kitchen king, Reed Pepper is advancing as well!"

"All right, Reed Pepper!" Yoko cheered, scaring the living daylights out of me. "Hot stuff! hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot."

"Hot? What do you mean?" Skip asked.

"I really hope she means his cooking." Yuya said.

"Next on the list we have… Trout. And you know he's hoping to reel in a win. But he'll have some real competition. Because next up is Gong Strong of Paradise City's prestigious Duel Dojo, who some say is head and shoulders above every other Duelist in the tournament! But that's mostly because he happens to have a two-foot tall pompadour- three-feet when it's not too humid out!" Joy chuckled a bit before calming down. "But moving on- yet another Duelist from the Leo Institute, Shay Obsidian!"

"Shay's in?" Yuya asked when he heard that.

"Frankly, I'm not surprised." I said.

"Shay has been one of the most exciting Duelists in the tournament, defeating You Show Duel School's Sora Perse in a fierce first round match up. Then winning by an overwhelming margin in the second round of play. It will be exciting to see just what Shay shows us next! Stay tuned."

"Exciting?!" Tate asked. "More like worrisome if you ask me."

"Yeah, I'm with you, Tate." Agreed Allie. "I don't trust Shay."

"Yeah, not since Sora vanished." Frederick finished.

"Sora…" Yuya said. I looked at Yuya, knowing he was think about the boy.

"Don't worry." I told him. "I'm sure Sora will be fine."

"Listen, everybody," Skip told us, "we all need a vacay now and then. When Sora's back, we'll welcome him with open arms."

"Right, Dad." Zuzu said.

"Sounds like a plan." Yuya told him.

"He'll be so pleased to know that you three advanced. Your Dueling inspires us all. So you three just keep on winning and I'm sure everything will be fine."

"Yeah, that's right." Frederick said. "'Cause wherever Sora is, he's watching just like this." He made an impression of Sora. "That is my Sora impression."

"Needs some work, Frederick," Tate told him, "but I think we all get your point."

"And don't forget," Allie reminded us, "Tate here is still competing in the Youth Division!"

"For sure." Skip agreed. "So then, all four of you, just keep on doing your very best. And we'll hope for the best for Sora, right?"

"Sora?" Yoko said. "Never mind Sora or anyone else. I'm rooting for Reed Pepper to win."

"Gee, thanks, Mom." Yuya said. I had this strange urge to either facepalm or hit Yoko over the head with Zuzu's fan. Most of me was rooting for the fan option.

"So there you have it." Joy concluded. "The Duelists who will be battling it out in round three of the tournament. Now it's time to see who will play their cards right and have a shot at winning the whole thing. And now for a look at tomorrow's weather."

I switched the T.V off, now musing over the third round.

"Round three." I mused. "That's when Obelisk Force attacks our dimension. I need to be ready."

The Fusion Dimension: Duel Academy

"I'm told that you want back to the Standard Dimension." The Professor said.

"Yeah, there are Xyz fugitives there." Sora replied. "I want to capture them."

"Good. See to it, then, Sora."

"Thank you. I will."

"But first, I want you to go find somebody else, with the help of some friends." The Professor told the boy. Several people wearing soldier-like uniforms stepped out from the shadows, making themselves known.

"The Obelisk Force." Sora said, recognising them.

"You are to locate a young girl." The Professor ordered him. "This is you top-priority. And this is the girl you must find."

A hologram of the girl in question appeared. She had green eyes and indigo coloured hair with blue bangs, tied up into a ponytail with a yellow bandana. She wore a black shirt and a red skirt, with black shorts underneath it. she wore brown boots and a red jacket. Around her wrist was a silver bracelet, with a single star shaped purple gem embedded in it. however, the most noticeable feature was her uncanny resemblance to…

"Zuzu?!" Sora exclaimed, shocked.

"No, her name is Celina." The Professor corrected him.

"Celina?" Said Sora, still staring at the girl. "Wait, but how? She looks just like Zuzu. What gives?"

"For now, that's none of your concern." The Duel Academy headmaster told him. "What is of your concern is that you bring this girl back to me by whatever means necessary. And that includes taking down anyone who gets in your way by unleashing the full power of your Duel skills. This is your mission, Sora."

"I won't fail you, sir." Sora told him.

"Good." The Professor told him. "I have a secondary mission for the Obelisk Force. Wait outside for a few minutes. This is for their ears only."

"Yes, sir." Sora said, slightly suspicious.

When he left, The Professor addressed the soldiers.

"Your secondary mission is this." He told them. A hologram of a maroon-haired girl with red highlights and wearing dark clothes appeared. "Capture this girl and bring her to me. When you find her, do not underestimate her. Through Sora's memories of her, we have learned that she is an extremely powerful Duelist. Take caution when facing her. Do not disappoint me."

"Yes, sir!" The Obelisk force replied, saluting.

Finally, chapter 14 is done. I would like to remind you all that I do in fact read your comments, and I have noticed a few of them were negative, and one of them more inquisitive, so I shall answer them.

First of all: DON'T. DIS. THE DUB. I know that many of you enjoy the subbed version, and I myself like it as well. But please don't complain about my choice in the comment section. I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I will respect that, but I prefer it if you don't be rude about it.

Second: Luna is NOT a Mary Sue. She is far from perfect, the reason she is so powerful during her Duels is that she hails from a world similar to ours, and is more experienced with her Deck stratagies. She will lose Duels, but those losses will be monumental and epic, and she will only lose to those who are more powerful than her. Remember when I mentioned Ka right at the second chapter. As you recall, it influences other as well as manipulate their destinies. That is why protagonists are so powerful. They are the protagonist. That is what Luna is, she is the protagonist of this story.

To address the fact I switch between 1st and 3rd POV, I would like to point out that I only do this when Luna is either unconscious or not there to see it happen.

Next I would like to address why Luna doesn't interfere with some events. There is a difference on what someone either can or should do. Since Luna knows the future, she does have the ability to change it. She could have saved Yuto or prevented the Duel between him and Yugo from happening, but she knew she shouldn't. Yuto's death is vital to the canon because Yuya needed Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon to defeat Iggy Arlo. If he didn't die, then it would cause a drastic change to the timeline, of which the reprecussions could result in something even worse than what was supposed to happen. Just Luna's presence is changing time. Do you want her to change a fixed event in time just because she can? Just because she could do something, doesn't mean she should. That is why I stick to the canon. Because it would be literal hell to write an entirely different timeline of events because someone did something stupid and messed with something they shouldn't have.

Now I would like to point out that I put a lot of work into writing these Duels. The fact it has taken this long to finish writing this chapter is testament to that. I don't pre-plan how the Duel goes, as I am at that time actually performing the Duel in real life, and have to play every single turn myself. I would also like to point out that I put in a large amount of research into these Duels, and I actually build the Decks of the characters that are in my story. I have built 36 Decks total, before and during my story. I read the effects of every card I have in my hand. I also consider what the characters say and what the Monsters look like during the editing process. I would also like to point out that the Banished Zone does not appear on a Duel Mat, as Monsters that are banished are removed from the game, which is why you place the cards on the outside of your mat or in your pocket.

Now, some of you are wondering why Luna shrugged off how creepy her eyes looked. It's simple, really. The dismissal is instinctive. She is used to them being the way they are. If you want to know why, take a look at the discriptions of Luna in my other two stories. I am similar to Scott Cawthon. I never do something like that on accident.

In regards to Luna's access to the Master Rule Override chip, please take notice that her Decks still contain Link Monsters. She will only use the chip if she deems it is necessary to use it, like if she were facing multiple opponents or someone who swams the field with Extra Deck Monsters.

If you're wondering why it was so easy to find Luna, remember, the Leo Corporation makes and sells Duel systems world-wide. That includes the Duel Disks that Leo Akaba developed. When a Duelist is regestered into the system, that information is readily avalible for them to view. Luna's arrival in ARC-V was a massive energy surge consisting every summoning method. They were actively searching for someone who didn't belong in the Standard Dimension, and since Luna literally didn't exist in their database until she purchesed her Duel Disk, she was easy to find. The reason I did something like this is because in other stories, they never actually mention the character existing in the LID database, and when they do, the information on the OC just magically appears. I find that having the almost exact info about the OC appearing out of thin air is a bit overused. No offence to anyone who do that, I am just stating my opinion.

I would like to also point out that the info dump that I put in the first chapter has it's own purpose. The reason it is there is to help those who are new to the card game by giving them the basics. That is why it's there.

Now that the answering of the negative reviews are done, I am sure you would all like to see my two newest OC cards. So here they are.

Before I sign off, I would like to ask you to take a second look at chapter 6. While I did have fun writing that chapter, I would like to point out that there are hints that explain the story some more, as well as Luna herself. It explains when these events take place, as well as Luna's story as a whole. I am also working on other stories and am thinking of posting some of the chapters. I will see you later! BackfireDuelist out!
