rain and fire couldn't keep me away (heaven knows they've tried)

Ty was worried, but that wasn't unusual when it came to Revvit.

Today, Revvit had been heading to the Ravine. The Ravine was a place for mechanics (like Revvit, Ace, Waldo, and Click-Clack) to go and get parts in exchange for old parts or favors. Most people would go and scavenge in a Scraptors nest for old parts to trade for the new ones, but with Revvit being so wildly popular, he usually got what he needed free of charge, having collected many favors from the people working the Ravine. Revvit, being a person of extreme intelligence and mechanical skill, knew exactly what he needed for this specific repair and had assured Ty it wouldn't take long, most of the trip would be travel time. Revvit had promised it wouldn't take more than an hour and he wasn't one to lie for no reason.

The other Reptools weren't all that worried, have the understanding that sometimes it takes a while to get the right part, but it had been well over two hours now and Revvit was always punctual.

"He should be back by now," Ty sat on top of his truck, running tanned fingers through red hair. "He should've been back hours ago." Revvit had never missed a check-in. So, why was this time any different? Ty knew well that the others wouldn't be worried, but they'd come with him anyway if he asked them. Ty decided that this would be a solo job, if Revvit was fine, then no need to alert anyone else, and if he wasn't the Ty could give them a call and he and Revvit could hold their own until backup got there.

He set off, slipping quietly into his giant red truck and racing out before the others even realized he was leaving.

Revvit was extraordinarily intelligent, his mind razor-sharp and quick as a whip. He could look at a vehicle and diagnose the obvious problems within seconds. The less obvious problems where harder, but he could diagnose those easily as well. A noise the engine made, a wobble in the stability, the crunch of the gravel beneath the tires. His favorite part of any car was how well it revved up, hence his nickname. He helped his friends keep their trucks in excellent condition specifically because he loved how their engine sounded when they were well kept.

(Well, that and because they where his friends, if they needed his help then he'd be happy to help them. Especially after not having been able to work on anything for so long.)

The revving of an old truck was the first thing he heard upon waking up. The last thing he remembered was strapping the pieces he'd needed to his motorcycle, then a blinding pain at the back of his head. He groaned, sitting up to find his ankle had been chained to a wall. Looking around, he felt his pockets for his bit set. With a little luck, he could pick the locks with the smaller bits of metal he kept in the set for such emergencies.

He didn't find the set, but while looking around he did see his backpack. He scrambled to get it, but his ankle pulled him short. He groaned as his ankle was twisted painfully.

A rumble from behind him froze him in place, making it hard for him to focus as the speaker purred, "You're awake. Good."

Revvit whimpered. It was D-Strux. "Where am I?" Revvit asked quietly.

A chuckle as the old truck started to move, the engine rattling the whole frame beneath Revvit's trembling body. "Don't worry, Riley."

Revvit shivered, "Y-You won't get away with this, Dakota!"

Dakota whipped around, staring at Revvit with piercing black eyes, "I already have."

Ty tried very hard not to worry about his lover, but it was in his nature to get worried over the people he was closest to or deemed as needing protection. He did the same over Click-Clack, Ace, Waldo, and Skya. It was something he tried hard not to let dictate or distract him. He couldn't help Revvit, Click-Clack, Ace, and Waldo work if he was worried about the trucks slipping their lifts and crushing them. He couldn't help Skya fight if he was was worried about one of the Scraptors hitting her.

He'd headed up to the Ravine and found Revvit's bike with the part miraculously still strapped to it. Ty quickly pulled the bike into his truck bed and took the part with him in the cab. Revvit would never leave a part out in the open like this, even if he was only going away for a short amount of time. With Scraptors and Scrapadactyls around, it wouldn't be long before Revvit would be using another favor to find a new part. Ty knew then something had happened to his favorite person and he began to worry more. He stepped out of the cab, locking the truck to secure the part and pocketing the key. Ty looked around and spotted the tire tracks on the ground. He narrowed his eyes when he saw the footprints and drag-marks leading away from where Revvit's bike had been. Whoever had abducted his Revvit would pay for it. Ty would make sure of it. He jumped back into his truck and started the engine.

With narrowed eyes, Ty put the truck in gear and hit the accelerator. He followed the tracks for a long time, all the way up until the big creepy house that was half destroyed by the lava pit that had acted as both plotting spot and home for his biggest enemy.

Ty hated D-Strux. D-Strux had hurt his friends, the people he considered family more than the people he'd been abandoned by at the age of 15. D-Strux had been terrorizing the Flat Irons for longer than Ty had been living there. He's terrorized and tortured the Victors twins the most, bullying Riley into submission and manipulating Samuel into loyalty. D-Strux was the reason Skya had been so aggressive at first, why Ton-Ton hadn't been able to go to his family reunion, why Dozer wouldn't trust any new person they came across until it was proven he could. The reason Click-Clack and Ace stuck together on missions without the others, why Waldo kept an organized list of every dent and flaw to fix on the trucks and motorcycles, why Revvit shied away from people he didn't know. D-Strux had hurt every member of Ty's family in some fashion or another. Ty hated the taller man with every fiber of his being. He especially hated him for the sight he'd come to find in the place D-Strux called home.

He left his big red truck three houses away from the lair and sneaked into the place on foot. He avoided the creaking door and headed for a window instead. He crept in quietly and slipped down the ground silently. It was sweltering in here and Ty would never be able to understand how D-Strux stood the heat. Ty was already sweating bullets and he'd only been in the home a few moments. Ty didn't regret his choice of wearing black clothing for this rescue mission, but it was rather difficult to be in the room with the black clothing sticking to his skin so fast. He snuck around the house, out into the back of the house where the lava pool resided. The air was worse out here, where the cool night air did little to temper the sweltering heat. Ty took a quick look around and in each room, searching for a flash of green or blond to alert him of his boyfriend's presence. As he got closer to the lava pool, he got closer to going back out around the demolished house to check for more tracks.

It was then that he saw Revvit tied above the lava pool, dangling high enough to avoid contact, but not high enough to avoid heat burns. Ty watched as Revvit swung his way. He rushed over to the wall, looking for a ladder, or built-in stepping stone. Fate seemed to be on his side as he found them, quietly scaling them as fast as he dared to make as little noise as possible.

Revvit was pale, but his face was flushed. God only knew how long he'd been dangling over the edge of the pool, waiting for someone to find him or for death to claim him. Ty wanted to get Revvit out of there now. He balanced his way over to the rope's tie-off and gripped the coarse material in both hands. He hefted it up, bracing himself for the 120-pound person attached to the rope. Ten minutes went by before Ty finally pulled Revvit up onto the ledge and carefully untied him.

Revvit groaned, "Ty?" He hazily blinked his eyes open, voice rough from sleep.

"Shh," Ty hushed him, gently pressing his forehead to Revvit's feeling the heat radiating off of his mechanic. "I'm here. I'm going to take you home now."

Revvit nodded sleepily and let Ty pull his arm over black-clad shoulders. He allowed Ty to manhandle him as the ginger needed to, knowing that he was safe. He'd passed out somewhere around hour three of being above the lava pool, every breath restricted by the tight ropes across his chest. He was thankful he hadn't been burned alive, though he doubted he'd have felt it until he was dying. The heat had gotten to him before the pain did and Revvit was at least grateful that he'd been rescued.

Ty quietly began exiting the house, but as he began to shift his boyfriend out of the window, a voice drawled, "And where do you think you're going with Riley?"

Ty whipped his head around and spotted the origin of the voice flanked by Scraptools. Dakota White had recently bleached strands of his hair and they stood out like flashes of bone against the black of his regular hair color and his eyes. The man was taller, more muscular, and had piercing eyes. Ty had known of him when he first moved to the Flat Irons; there weren't many who'd not heard of the man who ruled over a small community with an iron fist. The only difference was that when Ty moved in, he wasn't afraid of the older man. When others looked at D-Strux they saw his power, and they feared it, but when Ty looked at Dakota White, all he saw was a high school bully, and he wasn't afraid.

Ty shot D-Strux a glare as he tightened his grip on his lover and prepared himself for a fight, wishing he'd let his friends know where he was going. "D-Strux. I was just taking Revvit back home. He seems to be suffering from exposure to heat. He needs a hospital."

Dakota turned his eyes to Revvit, tilted his head, then drawled, "He seems fine to me."

The Scraptools started coming closer and Ty's eyes narrowed. He darted his eyes from person to person, finally landing on the grey-haired version of the half-unconscious boy hanging off Ty's shoulder. "Is this how you want him to remember you?" he asked the boy quietly. "Trying to capture him for a life of unwilling servitude to someone who doesn't care if he lives or dies?"

Samuel looked hesitant, then glanced at D-Strux. "This is my brother, D-Strux," he said quietly. "Please, I don't want to watch this."

D-Strux glared at Samuel, "Fine. Go, then."

Skrap-It, Revvit's twin brother, turned and bolted down the street to the safety of D-Strux's truck bed. Ty wished very much that he could send Revvit with him, but Samuel hadn't been doing right by his younger twin since they met D-Strux and Ty didn't trust him to do so now. The ensuing fight ended with D-Strux on the ground and Ty running down the street with Revvit draped over his back. Ty rushed Revvit back home, back to their room at the home Revvit had built with the money he'd inherited from his late Aunt and what work he'd been able to scrounge up.

Here's another thing about Revvit that most people didn't know. While his parents had died young, they left significant amounts of money for their children when they turned 18. When Revvit's elderly Aunt died around the time he turned 18, she also left him a significant sum of money. He didn't flaunt his money, preferring instead to keep himself quiet and his head down. He'd built onto the house after meeting his new friends, so they had many rooms. The main eight stayed there in the house, sometimes others stayed with them. Right now, the house was empty and for that, Ty was grateful. This meant he could care for Revvit without fear of others coming in and interrupting.

Ty really should've taken Revvit to the hospital, but he wasn't ready to let Revvit out of his sight, and while he was flushed and had a few burns on his shoulders and legs, it wasn't so bad that Revvit needed a hospital at the moment. He was thankful that he'd managed to get there in time. He gently put Revvit on the bed, then dragged the first-aid. Once all of Revvit's wounds had been cared for, Ty packed up the kit, ran his hands through his hair, then laid down with Revvit in his arms. When Revvit woke up, Ty would get him to drink some water and put aloe on his burns. For now, Ty would happily watch over the smaller male as he slept.

D-Struck could try, but not even rain and fire could keep Ty away.
